There are menu items that are made to order for no extra charge. The rooms are very clean. The amenities in the room are great! Our stay at L’Hotel du Lac in Hanoi was wonderful from start to finish. From the moment we checked in until the day we left, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was super friendly, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed.

One thing we really appreciated was how easy it was to exchange money at the hotel. Since many of the shops and small vendors in the area only accept cash, this made things very convenient for exploring the neighborhood.

The location is fantastic. It’s just steps from Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounded by history, shopping, and amazing food options right outside the front door. It made it incredibly easy to walk everywhere and experience the energy of Hanoi.

We also loved the rooftop bar. It had a great atmosphere with plenty of drink options, and Tuesday night game night made it even more fun. Our room on the 12th floor was amazing, very clean, comfortable, and felt like a home away from home. The balcony gave us a great view of the city, which was a nice way to start or end the day.

The spa is open most of the day, which is great for travelers, though unfortunately we didn’t have enough time in our schedule to try it.

When it was time for us to leave, the staff truly went above and beyond. Several members of the team walked us out and even gave us a farewell gift, which was such a thoughtful touch.

We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend L’Hotel du Lac to anyone visiting Hanoi.

Staff are super friendly and accommodating! Our room has an internal window but still tucked in a very quiet location. Very clean and well decorated. Really loved the complimentary fruits.

I want to mention Jolie who has super nice during our check in and the way she explained the famous locations and also tips on buying the dried fruits…we really appreciated it.

This 4 star hotel feels like a 5 star for us! Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Next time we will come back to Hanoi, we will stay here!

My favorite hotel in Vietnam. Location in Hanoi's old quarter is perfect for walking around and seeing the sights - it's only 5 minutes away from the lake with the temple and maybe 15 or so from the Hanoi beer street. Tons of shops in the area too. Rooms are clean, quiet and thoughtfully appointed. The staff are incredibly helpful and will bend over backwards for you also - Lily from the front desk gave me a thorough overview of the tour options for ha long bay and recommended one that was less crowded and more chill than the others, which was exactly what I was after.

The location is excellent, right near the Ho Huan Kiem lake and Old Town attractions. The hotel inside is really nice, the breakfast is great and the service is genuinely good without being too smarmy or angling for tips. Modern but charactered inside. Sky bar on the top floor is also a real plus. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel du Lac in Hanoi and would happily give it 5/5 across the board. The hotel is in a great part of town—easy to explore, lively, and well located for food, cafes, and walking around.
The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. We also used the spa services and were really impressed—the treatments were excellent and the value was fantastic compared to what you’d pay elsewhere.
Clean, comfortable, great service, and a relaxing place to come back to after busy days in Hanoi. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

L'Hotel du Lac was a real gem of a hotel in the old town Hanoi. Very close to super good restaurants and other attractions. The staff, tha includes every single soul that works at the hotel was super friendly and made sure you were comfortabke and happy. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. Now to the breakfast, this was he other highlight besides the room, a' la carte' and buffet included in the room, fantastic.

The Reception Staff and staff in restaurant is excellent.
We stayed 5 days. Got moved 3 different rooms because the hotel was fully booked and we booked one room late.
Most of the rooms we got are quite old.
The worst part is the bath towels, they are not fresh, they are quite dry and smelly.
The second one is bath gel and shampoo provided, they are cheap product, the shampoo dispensers never work.
The third worst part is the sleeper, the reusable thongs. We dont feel right to use it because someone would have used before, it is not hygiene.
Considering we paid over $250/night in Ha NOi is quite expensive.
We booked 3 rooms for 5 days.

I had such a lovely stay at L’HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi—honestly, it felt like one of those places that just gets it.

The location is hard to beat. You’re right near Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the Old Quarter, so everything is walkable, but once you step inside the hotel it’s calm, cozy, and feels like a little escape from the busy streets outside.

I’ll also fully admit that I completely goofed in my own planning and managed to arrive a full day late thanks to a time change mistake. Instead of stress or confusion, Daniel stepped in and calmly helped us get everything sorted, with all our arrangements rebooked and taken care of. It was truly above and beyond, and exactly the kind of thoughtful, human service that makes a place memorable.

My room was comfortable, stylish, and spotless, with a bed I genuinely didn’t want to get out of in the morning. Nothing felt overdone—just really well thought out and easy to relax in.

The staff overall were fantastic—warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful without being overbearing. And if you’re a tea lover, this place is an absolute dream. Every step of the experience seemed to come with a lovely, hot cup of tea, which somehow made everything feel even more welcoming and relaxed.

Breakfast was great too—fresh, tasty, and an easy, enjoyable way to start the day before heading out to explore Hanoi.

Loved the unique design and warm, intimate service. One of the best breakfast experiences. Prime location near shops, cafés, and restaurants, and just steps from the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre. We enjoyed early morning walks around Hoan Kiem Lake watching locals exercise, as well as late-night strolls exploring interesting shops and tasting local food. Very comfortable bed. I stayed here for two nights and I loved it. The room was very clean, comfortable, and I slept really well, which I appreciated so much. The staff were super friendly and kind, and the balcony and rooftop were beautiful. I enjoyed spending time there.

At the end of my stay they even gave me a hotel bag as a gift. It was such a sweet gesture, especially because I actually needed one haha

Overall my experience was amazing. I felt great there and I would stay again for sure if I return to Hanoi. I really recommend it!

We loved staying here. We had an excellent stay at L’HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi! The staff is what really makes this place special. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, they gave great recommendations for nearby sites in the Old Quarter, arranged our transfer, and helped to safely navigate our baggage through the hectic stream of motorbikes. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a hotel, it was tough to get out of bed in the morning - but well worth it considering the delicious breakfast buffet. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re a first time or returning visitor to Hanoi!

Fantastic stay at L'HÔTEL du LAC, Hanoi

I stayed at L'HÔTEL du LAC for a week and a half in October and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is perfectly located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter — close to many sights, cafés, and shops, yet quiet enough for a restful stay.

My room was spotless, very comfortable, and well maintained throughout my visit. The staff were exceptional — genuinely warm, attentive, and with great attention to detail. Their hospitality really made my stay memorable.

The hotel’s **Le Ciel Sky Bar** is a highlight — the evening city views are beautiful, and the cocktails are creative and expertly made. I also visited **La Maison Spa**, where I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had — truly first-class service.

Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Hanoi, and I’d happily stay again!

My family and I booked two rooms for 5 days and chose it for the great location. The staff went above and beyond during our stay- starting from a late flight check in, to ensuring our rooms were right next to each other, booking amazing day trips to Ninh Binh & Halong Bay, to booking a shuttle to the airport and ensuring we had coffee for our departure. We were already blown away at how attentive the staff was but after our departure to our next city it was the cherry on top. My mother forgot an item in her room. We contacted the Hotel and not only were they able to find the item in a few hours, but they also shipped it to our next hotel! My mother was elated and we are so thankful for the patience and kindness that the staff has for each guest.

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. From the moment my Grab car (think Uber) pulled up to the building the staff was incredibly hospitable. I received a message via WhatsApp asking my time of arrival the day, I landed in Hanoi, asking my arrival time. Check-in was seamless with a welcome drink awaiting me. My room wasn't quiet ready as I arrived at 9am, so I went exploring and upon my return a few hours later my room was ready with my bags were already in the room. I used the laundry service which was great. Upon check out, I received a really beautiful tote bag as a gift. Stay here, centrally located, quiet and clean.

My one note is that I had a bit of an allergic reaction the day I just stayed in the room. I am highly sensitive to mold and dander -- it rained a bit, and Vietnam is very wet and humid, so those may be contributing factors. It went away as soon as I left so just a consideration.

Staff very friendly, speak English well and reached out before I arrived. Location is good, not too noisy (though Hanoi will always have some sounds of horns). Breakfast with nice variety. Room was as pictured and everything worked

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Centrally located and convenient within the old quarter. The stand outs are the service and breakfast buffet.

Every service member I interacted with was friendly and professional. Requests were fulfilled immediately and with enthusiasm and care.

The breakfast buffet was a nice surprise. Great assortment of food at the buffet as well as food and drinks available to order at no cost. The selection changed slightly each morning so I was excited to see what was available every day.

The hotel also contacted me before arrival and offered a driver service from the airport to hotel for a reasonable fee. We also arranged the same service to the airport when departing and this was organised seamlessly.

Upon leaving we were gifted cute tote bags!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating during my stay. The reception desk provided instructions on places to visit in Hanoi as well as assisting in travelling to Sapa. Due to the typhoon at the time, travel to other parts of northern Vietnam were limited however the reception desk were able to contact the bus agency to determine the conditions to Sapa. Would book again!
