Posada Del Mar was the perfect hotel for our vacation in Isla Mujeres!!! Close to the ferry and within walking distance. Across the street from the most beautiful beach and beach views! We were offered the first floor and it was so convenient because we were able to park our golf cart on the property right by our room. There is a restaurant and bar on the property as well next to their beautiful pool! Shopping, food, music, water, and fun is all close to this hotel! Water pressure is excellent and there was plenty of hot water. Check in was fast and easy. We were offered extra towels, etc. anything we needed for our room. We felt safe at night and the room was comfortable. There was a mini fridge in the room and 2 beds. the beds were comfortable. For the price, location, and fun this place is in the top 10! It was my first time to Isla Mujer and it was a wonderful experience that I will never forget!
Some isla tips:
-Bring sun screen and your own snorkel set, they r expensive here
-dont forget pajamas
-you dont need to bring towels just buy them here
-dont pack too much, for women a lot of bathingsuits, tops, shorts, and swim covers, flip flops. also, they have cute cothes for wome here so you could buy a lot of stuff here to save space.
-whatever you dont want to take home, just leave for the staff and dont throw it away.
-you really dont need a whole lot when packing. simple stuff.
-a go pro or underwater camera is a must have!!
-shop around for bargains, dont settle

The hotel's location is very convenient—Playa Centro is right across the street. The facilities were good, and the cleanliness was excellent—except for the shower, which fell short; I give it a 3 out of 5. I absolutely loved everything else, though, and I will definitely be back.

The hotel of which we’ve stayed a couple years ago has unfortunately deteriorated a bit as it’s time has evolved. However its proximity to the public beach across the street is as good as it could get. There is a restaurant I believe is part of the property and on the plaza level is for a view while eating is to be very impressive overlooking the ocean and the bay.

This is the cheapest and best hotel you could possibly stay at on Isla Mujeres. You are no more than a 30 second walk from both the west beach and playa Norte. You have private pool inside of the hotel’s courtyard for you and other guests, the staff comes to the room in the mid afternoon every day and provides cleans sheets, fresh towels, and tidied up.

The staff and front desk are very friendly and more than willing to give recommendations. You are perfectly situated at the heart of the northern part of the island where all of the local restaurants and 7-Eleven and other shops for souvenirs are located

There is AC in the front desk provides fresh towels as many times a day as you ask. The single thing to know is the beds are quite stiff and the pillows are a bit fluffy so if you like a thin pillow and a soft mattress, you will not enjoy the beds.

I was impressed with how nice the room was given the rating. I had a great balcony with a view of the pool area. The AC was too cold for my liking so I kept it off. I only had one issue: theres only a few minutes of hot water. I like to shower right before bed. Did not enjoy the cold midnight shower. I also don’t think they have an elevator, maybe they do but we were directed to stairwell. Not fun with luggage after traveling with kids. But I would definitely stay here again due to how nice the rooms are, the location, and the price. I only stayed one night until my room at another hotel was ready. But overall I got an excellent nights sleep and it met my expectations.

The front desk were very helpful and quick. Grounds were clean and pool. But the air conditioning unit was on the balcony making it about 20°F warmer than outside temp. Also the pool area side says no alcohol in pool but what they mean is no outside alcohol allowed at the pool. This should be on the sign. They want you to purchase from their pool bar.

The property needs some repairs and updates. The bathroom faucets leaked, so did the shower.
Pigeons poop gathered on the sidewalk outside our small porch after a rain, along with debris from their nest.
The room is ample, beds are comfortable and the shower has abundant hot water.
The property is located across the street from a beautiful beach. The staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast at he restaurant is very good. It is near to a host of popular shops and restaurants so very convenient.

The hotel was clean and welcoming, our check in process was quick and easy. The location is perfection, easy to walk to the beach or to bars / restaurants. Close enough to also walk to the ferry. We were happy to have a fridge and a balcony with an ocean view, the AC in our room was amazing and our room was cleaned everyday. The room itself is very basic but all you need to enjoy the island. We would absolutely book here again.

Great location, beach across the road, downtown area 2 minutes walk, staff really friendly, hotel restaurant food was good and priced fairly comparable with other restaurants on the island, hotel needs TLC, affordable place comparing to other places, regular rooms, nothing special, everything was working, its safe , pool and pool area was nice and quite, we really enjoyed our vacation, family of 4 , 2 kids 12,15, so many things to do on the island, we definitely will be back.
Beaches were gorgeous, playa norte is amazing and is 10 minutes walk from hotel , atmosphere and wibe is great,

Great AC. The room was decent but the bathroom was not great. Large area of tile missing in the shower. The toilet seat was obviously too small for the toilet. It was aligned on one edge of the rim and an inch too short on the other. When you sat down, it slipped to the side. My husband tightened it multiple times as it was loose. I did report it but instead of replacing it, they just tightened it again. The glass in the shower hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival and the balcony was full of pigeon poop. It was eventually cleaned on day 5 and beyond of our 9 day stay. The staff was nice. My Spanish is not great and some staff didn’t understand English but we seemed to understand each other. Romy the bartender/waiter was EXCELLENT!!! The location was EXCELLENT, right across from the beach. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others.

I would recommend staying there it’s across from the beach has a restaurant on property. Rooms were clean pool area was nice with lots of tables to sit at and lounge chairs . Pool was clean . On negative side no elevator and it’s a 3 story hotel. And although each room had a balcony the 3 rd floor room balcony was cover in pegion dirt and you could not sit out on it. But over all I would definitely stay there again .

Stayed for 4 nights in early March. The room had a weird water leak on the floor. We had to have a towel on the floor all of the time to keep some what dry. When taking a shower the entire bathroom floor would be covered in water due to the way the shower was set up. Room was kept very clean. Minimal contact with staff. Overall okay stay for the price.

Great location. 2 minutes from Playa Norte. You can walk to everything you need. Restaurants all around.
The pool is not the best. Looked dirty but who wants to use the pool when yhe beach is across the street.
The man with the little souvenir store rents beach chairs or umbrellas for 8 dollars. Wort it if you are planing to stay at the beach all day.

When we got there the front desk lady was rude. She had an attitude and was short with us..
I went and talk to an older lady that was there she was nice and gave us the wifi passcode and told us where the pool was and that we could use towels.
Anyways will stay there again just because of location and price.

This place was PERFECTLY located. We got a room on the first floor, so when you open your sliding door out to your little porch you’re right in front of the pool, then right across the street is the actual beach. Absolutely perfect! The rooms are run down a bit but I know salt water does that to properties. Will definitely stay here again!

The location is wonderful, but the overall experience was odd and disappointing. Wi-Fi was only reliable near the lobby or restaurant, so I often had to sit outside my room on the porch just to connect. The outdoor lights stayed on constantly, which made it feel like being under a spotlight at night and made it hard to tell the time of day. The shower pressure was extremely strong while the sink barely ran, and there was no rack to hang towels even though they left piles of them daily. One day what appeared to be dirty laundry was left in the middle of my porch where I had to sit to get Wi-Fi. The safe in my room didn’t work and staff didn’t address it, which made me uncomfortable having housekeeping come in. The TV also barely worked and mostly showed static. The location is great, but the stay felt disorganized and unreliable. Honestly, I felt like I might have had a better experience staying at a nearby hostel.

This hotel is right across the street from a beautiful and very nice beach. The location was great and central, within walking distance to many restaurants, town and 4 blocks from the ferry. The pool was nice to sit around and soak up some sun and island vibes. The hotel is older and not fancy, but clean and welcoming, not a polished resort.

Room was clean, we love the location of this hotel, and a great pool. Only recommendation would be to provide blankets in each room, instead of just a sheet and light bedspread. And everyone loves Romi, at the pool bar. We also really enjoyed our massages by the pool bar, thanks to Elio and the massage team. This was our 6th stay at Posada Del Mar.

This is a very old and dark hotel that could a good amount of updating. Cleanliness is also spotty at best - I had to ask twice to have a sizeable dead roach be removed from our room (yes, you read that right).

The walls are paper thin, and conversations are easily heard from other rooms - we had to buy ear plugs to sleep!

The staff also does not seem to manage guests partying late at night until you ask. There was a group of people drinking and partying and yelling in one of the hallways off the 1st floor. I went to the front desk to ask them to have the partiers tone it down (because the phone didn't work in our room - so I simply couldn't call and make the request!)

There were 3 employees playing on their phones in the lobby. I asked them to have the group quiet down - it was after 11PM. There was NO WAY they didn't hear what was going on - they just chose not to deal with it until someone complained. That happened on more than one occasion

The only positive is that rates here were low during high season - I'm sure that's because of the hotel's condition. We would not stay here again, nor could we recommend this place in good conscience...

Finally the staff we encountered was pleasant enough but it didn't make up for all of the other issues. And if you are not aware the hotel is not on the beach but across the street from it. The beach is public and kept very clear. Beach chair rentals are $35 per day for an umbrella and two chairs. Good luck!

The room was clean, but every day we had to ask for something like towels or toilet paper. Not a good spot for people with mobility issues. One of the circular staircases was incredibly dark and had no railing. The other staircase was okay but not well lit, either. Pool is also hard to get in and out of with no railing, there’s a very high step to enter and exit. Staff were all nice and friendly. Perfect location - close to restaurants and beaches. The room was pretty basic, but the shower has a partial glass panel so anyone inside the room could see some of the person showering.
