Lake Garda is a stunning place and we were delighted with Grand Hotel Terme as our choice of accommodation.

The location is fantastic. There is plenty to explore on the peninsula and it is easy to get out on the water by boat. The hotel itself has amazing views of the castle and the lake.

We stayed in one of the suites which was generous in size, clean and had a great balcony.

The staff were all super helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was on point.

We ate at the restaurant one evening and were impressed with our meal. The breakfast buffet offered a wide choice of food.

We would thoroughly recommend.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Room was spacious with lake view. The pool has warm water from natural springs. You can also swim in the lake. The old town is charming with nice boutiques and great restaurants. For history lovers there is a medieval castle and large Roman villa.
We really enjoyed it.

Beautiful hotel with amazing hot bath. Great location by shops and castle. Free breakfast had great pastries and dinner was delicious as well. Spa also had steam room and sauna with view of castle. Parking was easy out front and gated. Will stay again for sure!

The only issue we had was the hotel is listed as family friendly and we even ordered a crib for one of our rooms. However… its really not for children younger than 10 years old. The kids can't go in the thermal pool for more than 10 minutes, and the hotel would prefer quiet. And try to keep toddlers quiet and out of the pool.

Anyone who gives this hotel a bad rating is incapable of being pleased. The location alone is breathtaking, the views indescribable and the service impeccable. I don’t care the air conditioning wasn’t that great as I’ve heard some complain about. The restaurant was a fine dining experience and the wait staff so attentive. We spent five nights here and hated to depart to our next destination. I would recommend if you stay here to take advantage of the grand Terme Sirimone Thermal Spa just a short walk away. If possible I’d spend a day here indulging in the services, facilities and amazing thermal spa.

Best things are the location, cause it’s walkable to main spots, and the thermal water pool. But it’s not a 5 star hotel. Few options to eat inside the hotel, quite basic and very expensive for the standard. Rooms are a bit outdated.

We got a room in front of a laundry closet, there was too much noise coming from it.

This hotel had an amazing atmosphere and a great location to old town. The hotel itself is magnificent with a lot of options and beautiful location. The only downfall we encountered was the room was too hot when we asked to lower the temperature they unlocked it, but the room was still so hot that we could not sleep. The vent was actually pushing out hot air. They have notices to avoid having windows open because of bugs but our choice was essentially bugs or melt. Aside from this, it was a beautiful hotel, all staff were very friendly, and the location is the best for views and walkability to the top views. Highly recommend but maybe ask for a fan in your room at night.

We spent a week at the Grand Hotel Terme di Sirmione in mid-September 2024. The hotel is excellent, and all the staff are always helpful. The thermal pool was a big hit, you can spend many happy hours in it even when it is raining. The sulphur smell from the thermal pool can at times intrude into small parts of the hotel (the smell is not really noticeable in the open air at the pool), but that is a very small price for such a wonderful facility.

The buffet breakfast is OK but if, like me, you like your bacon thickly cut they will slice and cook it specially on order, along with freshly cooked accompaniments like grilled mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and fried egg.

If you are a dog lover you will not be bothered by the fact that at weekends Italian guests bring their dogs and these are allowed into the restaurant! This is the only aspect of the hotel I would want to change, but having said that we will happily stay there again in the future.

The hotel was very nice, however, I may have felt slightly cheated if I paid full price. The staff were excellent but the attention to detail was lacking for a 5star hotel we would have expected them to notice the cobwebs on the ceiling (removed without prompting after the first night) and the broken door knob to the WC. However, we were so happy with the service we kept forgetting to report the maintenace issue.

My Italian is poor but the staff were all happy to converse in English and made our stay even more relaxed. A beautiful room which included breakfast in the price and their own thermal outdoor pool. A stunning location and can't wait to return and stay again. As a bonus you can travel to Venice door to door in less than 2 hours (Taxi and then high speed train) from the hotel . Ciao Bella!

5 star experience with the pristine pool, sunbeds, lake, gardens, flowers and shrubs.
Very well positioned opposite the castle and a short walk to many restaurants and the ferry terminal.
Lovely corner prestige junior suite with 2 balconies with great view over the pool and lake. Excellent quiet aircon.
Staff very friendly and helpful - just how a 5 star hotel should be.
Excellent buffet breakfast with optional table service if required. Eat in or outside in the sun or in the shade - all on the edge of the lake.
Very secure and quiet.
Very minor negative thoughts - 1)the room and bathroom could benefit from a few more clothes hooks - even though we had a small walk in wardrobe. 2) the sparrows that appear at breakfast time (and everywhere in Sirmione) are cute but become annoying...an electronic bird scarer would be useful. 3) for the money a separate shower and bath should be provided, 4) The next hotel did sometimes have noisy ventillators which could be heard from one of the balconies and 5) a table on the balcony would be a plus point.
Overall thoroughly recommended....a bit expensive at £500 a night but we had a great 5 day holiday in the warm/hot sun of Sirmione.

We really love the warm thermal outdoor swimming pool overlooking Lake Guarda, the comfortable well appointed rooms with balconies overlooking the lake, the lavish morning breakfast and the location right at the entrance of the old city by the castle. It is the perfect place to go spend at the beginning or end of a long trip.

We stayed here during a cross-Italy trip and chose it for the location next to the old walled city. That part was amazing, but it was only the beginning. The spa services included with the room were unbelievable. The indoor hot tub, saune, thermal room, and cold showers were nothing compared to the outdoor superheated pool. There were so many different types of water jets that we lost count. Oh yeah, the room was huge and comfortable with a small balcony, and we were a one minute walk from the castle. On top of that, the staff were excellent and treated us very well. We will be doing a full review on our You Tube Channel: halffasttravelers.

It s a quiet sanctuary with excellent facilities.
The jewel in the crown of the hotel are the staff, everyone of them was brilliant and nothing was to much Trouble for them.

The hotel location was perfect being both on the lakeside and also right at the entrance to the historic centre of Sirmione. Free parking was much appreciated and the hotel itself and its staff were exceptional. There were many good dining options within a short walking distance and also easy access to the ferry terminal and tour boat operators. A most enjoyable stay.

The hotel is beautiful. Situated perfectly on the lake, the views are just stunning. You get the best of both worlds as the bustling and beautiful town is right on your doorstep and then the hotel provides an oasis of calm and tranquility overlooking the lake. The staff cannot do more for you and are wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. They anticipated our needs before we ever had to ask. The naturally heated thermal pool is a real treat. So relaxing and a great way to spend the afternoon after a morning exploring the peninsula. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish.

Overall the experience was great. I have to be honest though that for the price and a 5 star hotel the room features and come of the facilities are not up to part with other 5 stars I stayed in the past. Some of the staff after a few days start remembering you and address you by name most but for the most part they always ask for you room number. Which i found and odd for this type of hotel. Most 5 start they know who you are from the moment you walk in to when you leave. That said we really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. We flew into Salzburg and took a nice 4 hour drive to Garda. Hotel is Perfect for day trips to Verona, Venice or Milan. The pool in the hotel is great and the short walk into the old town is perfect for dinner.

Loved location it was superb. Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, very clean & staff were lovely... The thing I couldn’t get my head around was that the pool was warm. The pool was also extremely smelly. Guests would rather jump in the lake than go in the pool. The pool area was very very disappointing, & unless this improved I would not go back to this hotel.

Everything was perfect,The hotel, the location which is obviously what you expect from a 5 star Hotel. The main downside were the pillows as they were so soft that we could not rest at all. The bed was instead comfortable.
Another unreasonable thing must be the ridiculous price for the room service. 22 Euros for a sandwich with Turkey and mayo is simply stupid. I know is a 5 star hotel but for example paying 100 Euros for a pizza does mean is right and nothing can justify that. The location, the environment and all the rest.
Also the Spa was very small. the Hotel was empty and there was no space for the guests I cannot even imagine what the summer time could be like. Guests would not be able to use it for sure unless they book it well in advance
Also the massage service was very limited. The hotel was empty and we have not been able to book a massage the same day for 2 people with 24/48 hours notice ? In a 5 star Spa Hotel ? Seriously ? Low season ? How are they going to manage the peak time ?

Perfect Choice

This hotel is absolutely wonderful. It backs straight onto the lake so the views during breakfast and whilst you sunbathe are absolutely beautiful. You can also walk around the sides and get different views of the scaligeri castle. All the staff are attentive, helpful, thoughtful and seem to genuinely want you to have a good stay. I had staff explain the ferry timetable, send my postcards, book a transfer to the airport, put the parisole up, bring towels and not all with me asking! Before check in and after check out you can use all the facilities (except your room) and you can leave your luggage safely with them and it will be taken to your room for you. When you walk out the hotel there are gates to keep it private and secure, you can walk straight to a mini port and rent boats (on a tour or as a group to drive yourself) or if you turn right you're a 30s walk to the castle and entrance into the old town, where there are numerous restaurants, gelataria, shops, more views of the lake and you can walk up to see the ruins and to Jamaica beach. The ferry leaves from the square on the second left so is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel (but leave longer to buy tickets ~ €36 to travel to&from most places for 2 people slow service). Everywhere you walk in Sirmione you'll find looks beautiful and scenic. The only negative of the hotel is that there is a bizarre eggy scent which comes from sulphur and it can be quite powerful sometimes.

a Peaceful Gem on the shores of Lake Garda

We stayed a week at the hotel. From the start it was a very attentive and comfortable experience.
The location is ideal as it has its own lake-shore, but is on the front steps of the old town so quick walk to some great italian dining.
The staff was amazing, polite friendly attentive.
The grounds are well structured so even with a full house there was no overcrowding and you had space.
Absolutely a must stay hotel when in Sirmione!
