美観地区の中の素敵なホテルです。駅からはのんびり15分くらい歩きます。歴史的な建物に宿泊しているという特別な雰囲気があり、綺麗な中庭もあるのですが、ちょうどお祭りイベントがあり大変混み合っていて、ゆっくり出来なかったです。朝食は地元食材をふんだんに使用して作られたメニューが多く素晴らしかったです。朝食の料金が宿泊者でも(宿泊予約時の手違いをメールでお知らせしましたが)一般料金で対応されたのが残念でした。

The location of this hotel couldn’t be more perfect. It is steps from all the shops, cafes, canal, etc in the Bikan historic district. The hotel could use some updating, but was still lovely and comfortable. This part of our stay in Japan was our favorite.

The room was very nice but possibly as far from the entrance as humanly possible. Staff were absolutely strict about the 3pm check in.

The highlight was the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptionally good. I usually prefer not to eat at the hotel but weather forced my hand and this one really paid off.

Room was so small that 2 person could not go by each other (about 20”) so as space between the beds (about 10”). There was no space to place 2 small carry on suitcases. Bathroom was ok. Clean- yes and that is why it’s 3 stars.

歴史的な建物を生かした内装で、雰囲気がとてもよいホテルでした。改装されてホテルの部屋も使いやすく、大浴場もきれいでよかったです。朝食も館内のショップも満足。ただ、部屋のシャワーの排水の関係か、それともエアコンの掃除のせいか、時々ややカビ臭いにおいがあがってくることがありました。それ以外は最高でした！

The place to stay in Kurashiki

The hotel is amazing, being a repurposed cotton spinning mill. Its location is on the edge of the historic area, so everything is in close proximity. The staff were excellent, helping us with a couple of problems we faced. We loved the city and the hotel.

Such a beautiful village. Kurashiki is the highlight of our family’s trip to Japan. Ivy Square is also very beautiful and one can spend the whole afternoon in its courtyard. The standard guestroom is standard Japanese sized…small but sufficient. The staff are very friendly.

Building. The public bath (onsen) was perfect after a day of exploring. Was not a fan of the beds, a little on the hard side. Restaurant at the hotel was ore booked, no opportunity to eat dinner, however there were plenty of options outside the hotel.

It is in a historical spinning mill factory museum. The building itself is old, but renewed to good condition with a excellent restaurant, bar, public bath, beautiful garden, patio and confortable accommodation. Location is a little bit far from the train station, but just next to or in the sightseeing area.

Family trip to Kurashiki

Kurashiki was a very nice place to visit. Ivy Square Hotel was located in very convenient and central Kurashiki. Hotel was converted from the part of old factory. It was clean, room very comfortable and roomy, Public bath was great. Buffet breakfast had excellent choice and all very tasty. Highly recommend this hotel in Kurashiki. Only 18 min of walk to JR station, nice walk along the canal.

This is a lovely hotel in a renovated textile mill adjacent to the Bikan Chiku historic warehouse district in Kurashiki, which adds to the charm. The rooms are bright and airy with a faint fragrance of cypress wood that is soothing and very Japanese. The breakfast buffet is enormous and has a wide selection of Japanese and western style food. It’s a wonderful experience to stay here and stroll around Kurashiki.

First of all, if you come here at winter (like I did) all of the Ivy is \"dead\". So, if you want to see beautiful green ivy on the walls then you should plan to come when everything is in bloom.

This place is clean and very stylish. The rooms have been updated. The facility has everything including a gift shop, restaurant, bar, public bath, etc. It is a nice place to relax.

I took a taxi from the station to check in. But, the truth is that you can walk to the station even if you have luggage. There is a covered shopping area for most of the walk.

チェックアウト時間は厳守!!!

立地が非常に良く施設も綺麗です。朝早くから活動していたのでチェックアウトの準備にバタバタしてしまい、お部屋を去るのがチェックアウト時間から３分過ぎてしまいました。慌ててお部屋を出るときにちょうど電話が鳴り「チェックアウトのお時間です」とフロントからのお知らせ。頻繁に旅行する中で国内外の様々なホテルに宿泊していますが、チェックアウトを催促するお電話を頂戴したのは人生初めてです。11時チェックアウトと記載されているなら1分も遅れてはならない、まさにその通りです。今までお世話になった他の数多くのホテルのサービス精神の素晴らしさ、クオリティの高さ、何よりも寛大さを実感する滞在となりました。

Would definitely stay here again!

So glad they turned part of the old cotton mill into a hotel!! What a neat experience and beautiful building. We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great, and the staff spoke English. The room was on the smaller side, but modern and clean.

キレイにリニューアルされていて、部屋が乾燥する以外は快適に過ごせました。駅利用の方にはやや遠いので不便ですが、駐車場は隣にあるので便利です。倉敷観光のいい思い出になると思います。

heritage hotel in heart of the Old town

The Ivy Square is an ancient reconstructed cotton factory -heritage building. Located ideally in the romantic Old town of Bikan, good spa, beautiful courtyard with red and yellow carps, excellent breakfast. They are currently reconstructing a part of the hotel, and they upgraded us to bigger and quiet room. From 19 April, they don’t accept any reservations to protect the staff from coronavirus. Okayama Prefecture has one of the lowest number of coronavirus in Japan. Best hotel to stay in Kurashiki!!!

Ok to spend the night but below average

The staff at check-in was very unfriendly and not like any other place I’ve stayed at in Japan. Room was tiny and packed with two single beds without any space for a suitcase. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Japan and rooms are generally small, but this was the smallest I’ve stayed at.
Location is great for checking out the old town but a 15 min walk from the trainstation. Buses go infrequenty so with loads of heavy suitcases not recommended.

The room is rather small, but the location is fabulous for strolling the city's historic area and the Ohara Museum of Art. I suppose the hotel is more impressive during the summer season, when the walls of the building are covered with lush ivy leaves.

Looks like the bedrooms have been recently refurbished so everything was new, clean and in great order. Breakfast was varied with both hot & cold, Western & Japanese options etc. Great central location and close to the Bikan Area. All in a great choice and I would certainly stay there again.

夕食の予約時に、山椒チリメンを乗せずに白ごはんをリクエストしていたのに、山椒チリメンがご飯の上にのせられていました。どうもスタッフ間の連絡が徹底されていないようです。お食事は大変美味しく、スタッフの皆さんの接客もとても良かったので、チリメンが出された時は、少し残念に思いました。
