Check in was smooth and the staff was friendly, however when I got to my room the bathroom smelled strongly of pee. And I hadidea if that was the drain system or the toilet. I cleaned it myself, because I don’t speak Japanese heads up for foreign visitors.

It was a pretty basic old hotel. Nothing too fancy or notable, but also nothing to complain about. For the price, it was a nice stay (slept two nights). Note: hotel is older, with that old carpet/wood smell. Wouldn’t say it’s a 4* hotel, but decent for a good rest.

Huge rooms with beautiful views and an onsite Japanese garden super close to the monorail station connecting to the JR Kokura train station and other destinations. The hotel was a bit dated but clean. The retro feel of the rooms may be a selling point to those who like that however.

The tatami room we had was interesting. The property common areas was very pretty..however our room was tired looking. The futons had hair on them even before we took them out from the cupboard. Front desk is unable to communicate in english but they try by using a translation app which is really nice.

Good location, Great hospitality. But there is surely a problem of sound protection. Noise from the neighboring room sounds too big. Probably renovation of wall structure is needed. Or bed location should be rearranged. When I complained, the response from the staff was quite proper.

The room was expectedly tiny. Smallest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. The room was clean but there were stains on the carpet and the bathroom marble- and chipped paint on the bathroom door. I’d say the parts that were hard to deal with was that I think the toilet was supposed to automatically flush but it didn’t and the manual flush was hard to reach under the sink/counter. Also the mini fridge was making weird noises so we had to unplug it in order to sleep. Good location. Good staff.

It was disappointing to say the least. The front looks like a high quality hotel but the room itself is of a shabby motel quality. There is no parking available, only those public ones surrounding it. During check out they seemed to have parking vouchers available but they failed to indicate for which parking area is supported and only mentioned that parking is not supported. Even though I've asked about parking during check in. They charge tax twice it seems? They made me pay a \"deposit\" during check in despite having paid everything through Hotels.com and during check out they said its tax. The cleanliness of the room was questionable when I found used empty medicine foil on the floor.

The elevator sensor not working so hit by the door so many times. Futon was so thin and uncomfortable. Pillows collapsed to nothing so neck hurts. Only one room card key provided. Staff was not happy when we asked for extra keys. The extra card keys were not working. Only three breakfast tickets provided even though we booked for four people. Demanded to pay accommodation tax upon check-in (not the time of check-out) but a receipt was not available until check-out. No curtains in the room. Not paying attention to guests. No hospitality.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, it could not make up for the obsolete conditions of the hotel. To my astonishment, the bedsheet had the blood stain and I could smell the unbearable odors of sewages. Moreover, there is no onsite parking. It definitely
needs to be renovated. The breakfast was alright though.

Need for improvement for non-Japanese guests

Friendly staff doing their best but none speak English. No English translations anywhere. I couldn’t use the Japanese only alarm clock, and I lived in Japan and speak a fair bit of Japanese. About 5 Japanese only tv channels on the small, old tv and the remote channel would be impossible for many foreigners to use. Thin towels and toilet paper. They cater to weddings not foreigners. I stayed at 3 hotels on this trip to Japan and the other 2 had helpful translations for the tv, the breakfast, the air conditioning and so on. You should stay at one of the hotels near Kokura station.

The rooms have a quaint European feel to them. Our blow dryer's cable was broken, and I had a bad lychee at the breakfast buffet. However, the overall atmosphere of the hotel was very nice, and we had a comfortable stay.

Very nice property with friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful traditional style garden and koi pond, set up to be the backdrop for garden weddings. As a wedding minister who was in Kokura and Moji to conduct weddings at other venues, I can appreciate the value of such an in-house venue for a quality hotel such as this.

This hotel has style. Hotel setting with garden is stunning. Staff were exceptionally professional. My room was dated but they did post a comment that they were revamping the rooms and for me the beauty of the place outweighed anything else.

The clerk at the front desk gave me wrong information about where to catch bus to airport. I asked for info to catch airport limo bus to Kitakyushu airport but clerk gave me information for buses to Fukuoka airport. Made a mad dash to the proper stop after asking bus driver. If I didn’t speak Japanese, I would have missed my flight.

This hotel is about a 3-3.5 star hotel. The rooms are VERY dated and VERY much worn. Totally can use an update. But the staff were all helpful and it was comfortable enough for one night. Didn't eat at the restaurants there, so can't say how they were. But overall a comfortable stay. Value for money is somewhat questionable though.

朝食無しプランで予約もフロントでお薦めされて２２００円でトライ。庭園を見ながらが売りだが奥まった場所。一人宿泊なのだが両サイドが中華系家族連れと日本人家族連れで共に幼児が駄々を捏ねて落ち着かなかった。
家族連れエリアと大人エリアを分ける工夫欲しかった。食事の内容は価格なりか。部屋の設えや雰囲気は８～９０年代のヨーロッパのホテル調で懐かしかった。

建物や設備はやや古いですが、壁紙やインテリアがクラシック、素敵で気に入っています。ただ、角部屋だったからか窓が広く風？冷気？が入ってくる？暖房はつけていましたが母が寒い寒いと言っていました。
景色は庭園側でとてもよいので、
窓が広いのは嬉しいのですが。
なかなか難しいですね。
今回食事なしのプランで、歩いて5半弱の旦過市場に行ってテイクアウトしてお部屋でいただきました。
いろいろ楽しいお店がありましたよ。

ようやく確認が取れた時も、何も言わず、ルームキーなどの準備をしていました。確認が取れた時に先ずは「確認取れました」の一言が欲しかったです。
こちらは「何かの間違いで予約がないのでは」と心配していました。

立地と朝食のブッフェは良かったです。
福岡のものだけではなく、九州の郷土料理もあって手作り感あり美味しかったです。
(滞在時→辛子蓮根、ハトシ、キビナゴ天麩羅)

数ヶ月前も宿泊したのですが、部屋によって設備、備品のコンディション、清潔さが違う印象です。

口コミで書かれているように、フロントの接客が冷たく感じます。
お客さんが通り過ぎる時に声かけ、笑顔がないので特に冷たく感じるのかもしれません。
担当される方によって違いがあるのも実感。
(今回は男性の方で親切な方でした)
15時にならないとチェックインができないのなら、フロント2人で対応しているのは少ないと思います。(どっと並ぶ)
すぐ近くにイスなど置いて座って待機する場所があると助かります。(年配の方、きつそうでした)
また、ドア近くに案内係がいるとスムーズなチェックインができるのかと思います。

ともかく立地と値段と朝食会場が素敵です。
北九州旦過市場すぐ近くで小倉城なども徒歩圏内で観光しやすく便利です。
朝食会場は庭を眺めながらのおしゃれな空間でおすすめ。
アメニティも必要なモノ(化粧水、入浴剤等)がフロントで頂けてgood！
気になった事が、お部屋のお掃除の甘さ(コーヒーカップの汚れ、浴槽に髪の毛)
浴槽に入る際、思った以上に足を上げなければ入る事ができず、普通はシャワーカーテンがある部分がガラス板になっていて、そのレールが足にあたらないように注意しながら入らないといけなく、とてもお洒落に改装してあるのだと認識していますが、シニアには使いづらかったです。
　冷蔵庫はガン冷えで、フロント横にドリップ式のコーヒーが置いてあった事は気に入っだ点。
　総じて観光して食べ歩きするにはとても良かったです。
