Room was filthy. It appeared that constructokn was done in room and plaster and drywall and drywall dust was all ober bathroom area and carpet throughout room. When told front desk in morning, they said, "oh, that room wasnt supposed to be used" hotel was barely filled from look of parking lot. Nothing in form of apology and to top off, no breakfast because of construction.

The room door was spotted with hand prints and grease smudges. The room smelled dirty, really dirty. It was a challenge to sleep in that room due to the smell.

Breakfast was paltry.

I do not recommend the Days Inn, Russell, KS.

First room had been smoked in and smelled very badly. Staff was very nice and move me. The next room had water damage in the bathroom ceiling. There were also flies and bugs that seemed to be everywhere but partially in the bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

Bad shower and roaches!

We had roaches in the room as soon as we walked in. The shower had was broken and most of the water came out the back of it. The shower valve was also broken so getting hot water was an ordeal of twisting just right. When i spoke to the front desk the next morning they said there is nothing they can do. Avoid this hotel.

We stayed the night because it was convenient for a Dr Appt. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice. Check-in was easy as I done most of it online. The parking lot was well lit. The property was clean as was the room. It obviously was an older property, but well kept. We would stay here again if needed.

DON’T DO IT! DISGUSTING!!!

THIS WAS AWFUL!! Hotels.com should be ASHAMED that they have this hotel as an option!!! We were driving back from Colorado and just needed a place to stay for the night. Hays Kansas was completely booked because of an event, so we hurried up and booked this. I should have turned around when I saw the run down lobby, but we were tired. Walking around the outside of the building to our room, the place is falling apart and looked like our car might get stolen! The rooms were DISGUSTING!!! Look at the pictures! We saw a stain on the dust ruffle and pulled the sheets back!! OMG! They are stained and gross! The floors in the bathroom were covered in hair and bugs, the sink was covered in rust and my kids room had a handwritten note taped to the door to double lock your door!! We turned around and left. The front desk person couldn’t refund my money because I booked through Hotels.Com. We drove another exhausting hour to Salina (which I would recommend to avoid Russell!) to a MUCH better place. I contacted Hotels.Com for a refund and the hotel manager WOULD NOT REFUND!!! Hotels.Com wouldn’t do anything. I called the hotel myself AND THEY HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called back and they hung up again. I hope the Days Inn chain sees this and CLOSES THIS HOTEL!! DON’T STAY HERE!!!

This property needs updating and thorough cleaning. The non-smoking room smelled awful, dirty tile in bathroom, doors and windows chipped and broke. The pool was closed for bo apparent reason and breakfast was 2 choices of cold cereal, plus 3 other cold items. I wouldn't have minded so much for half the price

Not great stay

Our stay was fine. The mattress was very comfortable and the room was clean. However two issues made our stay less than good. When we arrived there was a sign on the office door saying use other door and an arrow pointing to the left. It was extremely hot and windy. I looked several times for another door to the left. The gentleman at the desk saw me but didn’t react. I finally went the other direction from the arrow and found another door. He apologized for the sign and put up a different one. In the room, there were light fixtures mounted on either side of the bed but they must’ve been mounted when there was a smaller bed because they were right next to our heads when we were sitting up in bed. We both bumped our heads on them more than once. I would not stay here again because of the wall fixtures.

You could easily spend 3 times more elsewhere for the same hotel room that I stayed in at the Russell Days Inn. Very clean and had all the amenities I needed. It was obvious that the owner/operator took care of the property. Will stay here again if opportunity arises.

This was a basic stay in a motel. It was recently updated and was clean. The staff recommended a restaurant across the street and it was good food. Actually, the steak was so huge the plate could not hold it. The bed was comfortable.

Easy stay on drive through KS

Did what we needed to do which was offer a need halfway across Kansas.

Room was dated but functional. Definitely seemed a little dingey Being able to walk in was a plus for getting sleepy kiddos and stuff in quickly.

Breakfast was sub par. Just a lot of cheap carbs and sugars. Consider having some sort of protein - even just yogurt or hard boiled eggs

The first room we got was a smoking room? I did not know they even had smoking rooms anymore it smelled exactly as you think it would!

NOW, all that being said the manager was awesome! Immediately gave us another room! He was great!

Tom the manager was tentative and informative and even had jokes. Room was very clean. Nice place to crash and good a good night's sleep. Not alot of restaurant options but still a bargain stay.

They stated that they did house keeping daily. I thought that would be great other than they would take my towels and not replenish them. I would have to go and find a house keeper or go to the front office daily and ask for towels or other things that they didn’t refill in the room. Some of the staff in the office would act like you were a bother if you took them from what they were doing. The rooms were nice and cool after a hot day of 104 on the lake.
