Great room with Lots of space. Beds are a bit hard but fairly comfortable. The WiFi was a bit slow but functional. Two good restaurants in the courtyard. If you forgo room service you receive a free bottle of water for each day no service was provided.

Room was very clean and spacious, shower was great and bathroom was nice size. Property felt and looked newly renovated. Breakfast food was not very good, bakery was the best thing going and we’re not big on bakery for breakfast. Coffee machine was great, and tea selection very good. The room was way too hot, and the HVAC did not seem to work very well. Hard to sleep well in a hot room! The cleaning staff left the windows open every day, but it didn’t help much with the heat, and was too noisy at night to sleep with them open. No ice machine on property and no refrigerator in room. Staff was mostly helpful, and Jon in the breakfast room was exceptionally friendly! For the price, we may stay again IF they can get the HVAC under control.

Good location in the very centre of Truer so decent for food and shopping etc. best to park in the City Parkhoose just nearby as the hotel parking gets full easy and not so easy to park. My room was ok but lacking a lot of comforts, no drinking glasses, no kettle, no fridge and air con just didn’t work or was switched off so the room was very warm and windows only partially open. It’s a fairly standard hotel.

Fairly new hotel, nice rooms on the main floors, high ceilings and nice deco. I refused the room that had been assigned to me on the top floor. It was extremely stuffy (on a rather warm bit not really hot day) and had a weird smell, like curry. The other room I then got was nicer, although it looked out on the trash cans… The hotel is ok, the breakfast room on the other hand is hideously ugly and basic - and the main drawback for me was that such a new hotel does not have A/C. Its main strength us its location in a lovely historic courtyard right in the town center. The parking lot was always full - so I had to park a bit away.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are quite spectacular and a great size. Perfect location, efficient staff and very clean and neat.

There is no traditional AC (there is a cooling system in the rooms and you can request a fan if need be) or mini fridge (this only mattered to us as we had medication that needed a cool environment)

Definitely a well located and well maintained hotel.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The front staff spoke English and were friendly, our room was bigger than expected and had a view of the plaza which was lovely. However we stayed at the end of September and our room was very hot. We were unable to open widow all the way. And the thermostat did not work to cool the room. Other than the room being hot it was a great stay.

Nice Courtyard Hotel

This is tucked away into a neat courtyard and there is easy access to everything within walking distance. Driving there might be a little frustrating. Bike parking isn't very secure yet I had no problems so maybe it is safe enough for the area.

It was quite warm outside and the cooling system in the hotel cannot handle it. The plaza noise from the restaurants below is quite loud if the windows are open. I would not stay here in the summer for this reason.

Property was close to centrum, however our room was located at the back of the building - where the kitchen staff from multiple restaurants were cleaning up late at night. Very loud and we were unable to open the windows to cool the room down. Back rooms are not a good idea.

This hotel is conveniently situated in the middle of old Trier the staff weee friendly and helpful but how people rate is as ‘wonderful’ I don’t know. Room are modern style and clean but still very basic. There no real facilities in the rooms , no coffee or tea or cups or glasses etc. My room appeared to have some form of air conditioning m/ventilation but it didn’t work so the room was very hot. My room was near the Galeria and at night there was quite a bit of noise with people shouting and workers pushing around large bins.
The front courtyard area is nice and it’s in a very convenient location.

Hotel is highly recommended. It is located in the center of the city and close to all major sightseeing attractions. Hotel staff is great, the room was huge. I liked the separation of shower and the rest of the bathroom. Breakfast is great to get a good start into the day.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I really liked the free coffee, tea and water and apples near the reception. Room was very clean, high standard. It was a nuce touch that they offered a voucher for a free drink of choice if you did not need daily room service, helping environment and guests at the same time. Would definitely recommend.

Took 3 days for someone to change a lightbulb. Communication at this hotel doesn't seem very good. The girl working at night was not very helpful for a variety of reasons. Asked her the second night why the light wasn't fixed and she couldn't tell me if someone came to look while i was gone. Had to ask the guy the next morning and it was as if there was no request even made to look into it.

Bought a beer and thought it was a twist off cap. Had to go back down to get it opened. The least she could have done is offered the bottle opener before I went upstairs. Was pleased with the breakfast except for the strange guy who would come over and ask me questions. I think he asked me if I wanted a drink. Both times i had a coffee in front of me. Could do without those weird interactions. Also could have done without those slamming doors. With all the technology we have, why do hotel doors need to be so loud? The room was nice but again, these ridiculous showers with a doorless opening that lets water flow into the bathroom and soaking the bath mat. Horrible design!!!!!!

Would be a great hotel if they could get their communication/ co-ordination skills up and get a better shower design that keeps water OFF of the bathroom floor.

You could not get a better location for walking the pedestrianized areas as well as take in the sites and food (there is a great restaurant in the courtyard and the pizza one is said to be great too.)

A bit surprised as the website suggests free parking but it is 20 Euros/Day.

The price was the main driver of my choice to stay at this property. It had good value for the accommodations. The room was cold and I was not able to sufficiently warm it up despite the room being a small footprint. I would stay again if necessary, but do not plan to use ibis in the future as the comport level was not to my liking.

Not completely true

Well on the information provided we had booked a room for one large bed we got two twins. The soap dispenser in the room was empty for the bathroom sink and the toilet roll was not even exchanged there was only like one hand full left before we had to use the second roll. Our room was all the way at the end of this long hallway and next to the service elevator. They were nice enough to let us temporarily park near the hotel to drop off our luggage but then we had to park off site for the night. All in all I would not of paid as much money as I did for this hotel room. Please make sure that when you show options for things you that it’s not guaranteed. I would have definitely picked a different hotel just as soon as I found out there was not enough parking at the hotel.

This is a nice modern hotel with convenient proximity to Trier's major market plazas. It works well. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had three people to our room, with one person using a wall bed. We wish there had been an easy way to put the wall bed up so that we could have used it in couch-form before retiring for the night. We couldn't figure out how to put it away so the room space was completely dominated by the normal beds plus the wall bed. No place to sit but a bed. I also found the interior color scheme a bit unappealing. A sort of lime green vinyl. Neither cozy nor attractive.

Helpful and friendly staff. Centrally located in the middle of Trier within 15-20 minutes of everything to see and do. Located next to the Trier Galleria, numerous shops, and restaurants of various cuisines. Good European breakfast buffet with warm scrambled eggs, bacon, and hard boiled eggs. The only issue - very limited parking on the hotel premises but one block away from the City Parkhaus that’s open 24/7 but charges 15.30 euro per day.

Stunning building in wonderful location

We had a wonderful time at the Ibis in Trier. The location is amazing - right in the city center tucked away in a stunning courtyard so that you can still enjoy some peace and quiet. Even though the hotel has a very modern and fresh look it still has lots of character as it’s housed in the old post office building with high ceilings. The staff was very attentive and very welcoming despite the current Corona situation which can be quite demanding.

The only thing we noticed was that the piping system is loud so that you can hear when your neighbors above you use the toilet... at least that was the case in our room. But overall we can only recommend the Ibis in Trier and would come back to the town only to stay here again.

This is a no frills hotel, but it is spotless and comfortable. The breakfast gives a huge range of choice, there should be something for everyone and the staff work non stop replenishing food and clearing tables. The hotel is really central, you can walk everywhere. Tea/coffee/water gratis in reception was very welcome after a day sightseeing. The sound proofing is the best of any hotel ever, it is so quiet, you think you are the only guests, then you find the breakfast hall buzzing with people. .

Great location, right in the heart of the town. Very clean and modern and well thought out (fold-away shelves, surprise shaving/makeup mirrors etc.). Comfortable bed. Very helpful and friendly staff.
The hotel is also located within a pleasing courtyard which is home to an excellent restaurant (Osteria).
Breakfast was included and was surprisingly good.
Only downside is we couldn't get parked in the car park. There is a nearby multi-storey public carpark (which is actually cheaper), but we had a nice car and were a bit worried about parking it there. But we did, and it was fine (about 15 Euros)..

Perfect location in the heart of everything we wanted to see. Staff were helpful. Clean and new feeling. Missing a refrigerator which was inconvenient and the a/c didn’t work well. Bed wasn’t super comfortable but okay. My wife and I would stay here again.

Loved location in the midst of Old Town. Rooms were cleverly done, modern. WiFi was good. Breakfast good. Lobby inviting. Would have loved using the courtyard had it not been so cold! Loved coffee and tea available all day in the lobby. Bed comfy. Immaculate. Staff was lovely. Only suggestion is too bad there are not any plugs near the bed so phones can recharge and are within reach after a day out. But still... this place is a real find.

A Gem Of A Hotel

We decided to take a \"weekend\" trip to Trier. I hadn't been there since I was in High School. The hotel is located in an old post office and is delightful! We stayed across the courtyard in a newer section and the rooms were wonderful. The decor was exceptional. The front desk staff were extremely polite and very helpful. The location of the hotel is superb, you are right is the city center close to all the shops and restaurants. will recommend it to my friends here in The Nederlands and in the States.
