Staff was very rude, I asked questions about room and host became very condescending and controlling and ultimately told me he would not honor my reservation. I am a late stage cancer patient and wanted to be sure room would be sufficiently clean just by what you could see. It was very dated and there were family hanging out everywhere… the host seemed very engaged with them more so then being hospitable to a guest. Would never stay there anyway, but I was exhausted from road trip. Over priced as well I stayed at a much nicer place and was thankful. Also required unlike other hotels in Pontiac a cash 100.00 deposit, other hotels did not

We found evidence of bed bugs in our room. The mattress had multiple stains and remnants of a dead bug with casings was in a corner fold of the mattress. We asked for a second room, which while better, still had evidence of stains on the mattress. The desk attendant stated they did not have bed bugs. We told him we were leaving and asked for a refund. He said he was unable to issue a refund and to ask Expedia. Unfortunately, by the terms of the booking that was not issued.

It was a safe place to sleep, however the room was not clean. Sure, the sheets and bedding were changed, but the room itself was dirty. The air conditioner had a bad smell, baseboards and food were gross, and the bathroom still had hairs in it and the toilet wasn’t clean. I had to wipe down all surfaces myself and the cloth was so dirty after. The properly seems worn down and could use some renovating. There were also some gnats and spiders in the room, but no bedbugs, so that’s a plus. The noise level was good, and the area seemed safe. I don’t think I would stay again because of the cleanliness, I felt like I couldn’t fully relax.

Pool had excess sand and stained in scrape marks at the bottom making it look dirty. Food was ok and daytime front desk personnel was friendly. The cleanup crew and nighttime front desk personnel were not though. House keeping actually came into our room before check out and with the DND sign on the door knob. My daughter was using the toilet with the bathroom door open when they entered. Luckily my wife was a couple of feet from the door and was able to stop them from fully entering and seeing my daughter in disposed.

The staff/owners were very nice, the place was quiet! there is evidence there is recent work to keep the place up, but the rooms are a bit dated and my only real complaint, its too expensive for a hotel along the interstate in a smaller town.... $130 for a room- this should be $79 or $89 and then its a perfect fit.

The photos are very misleading and the room barely had walking space. The Jacuzzi was also not a hot tub in the room, but just a jetted bathtub with the shower. For one person, and had body hair in it. There were holes in the sheets as well.

I was very uncomfortable with how the male staff treated the female staff. The female staff member was trying to help with a situation with my reservation the male manager came in, shushed the female employee when she tried to help, it was really unprofessional and I felt horrible for her, she was the only person actually helping the situation and her boss just came in, made a mess and treated his staff poorly.

The night manager/ housekeeper say she couldn't upgrade reservations mass by Expedia even though I was willing to pay cash for the difference. The room I had asked for was available and the hotel was less than half full. The breakfast sucked with powdered eggs and a faulty waffle maker. Bad bacon.

It says pet friendly but it's pets up to 40 pounds only. Keep that in mind when traveling.

Surprised

Check in person actually suggested Hotels.com wasn’t the best way to make a reservation, said calling the hotel was better. Said his direct rate was $5 cheaper than Hotels.com. Surprising…

Great hotel!

We stayed for the races this weekend and found this to be a great hotel. Nice, clean, and quiet. The pool was great and the breakfast was also great! Overall great stay!

Staff was phenomenal. They were curteous and helpful! The room was clean, and so was the rest of the hotel. The pool was nice and they are currently working on sprucing up the outside too!

The hotel is currently being upgraded, which is always a good thing and while they are doing the upgrades, the property is still clean and functional. All the staff was friendly and helpful.. very pleased with the rate and accommodations.

A very pleasant and cheerful receptionist, good sense of humour. Room spacious with fridge and microwave, handy as a traveller who doesn’t want to eat out all the time.

No parking in parking lot, went to eat breakfast and there wasn’t any room for 8 people to be there at the same time. That’s the only thing I didn’t like but it was fine

Pontiac

Room was clean. Check in was easy. I did have a dog and checked the box when I made the reservation. There was nothing about a pet fee. When I checked in, there was a $25 pet fee.

Very clean and well-maintained property. Young man behind the desk was kind of grumpy that we purchased the room from Travelocity as he got less money. As a customer, I shouldn’t have to hear that.

Not terrible, but I wouldn't book here again.

The biggest issue was the elevator, on the opposite end of the building from the lobby. Had to run the luggage cart through the entire length of the hotel, up the elevator and then push it back through the entire length of the second floor to get to our room. Dodging the cleaning carts along the way.
Second issue was the lack of sprinklers in the room....I thought those were required.
The hot portions of the breakfast provided were fine, the english muffin I had could have been used as a hockey puck.

They really need to upgrade their rooms. We’ve been staying there for the past 5 years. It’s just not good. Cost more to stay, why?? Making the outside around the hotel look fancy? Should put that money into your rooms
