This is a unique property in the sense that it has all the basic needs and checks off all the boxes in Lilongwe. It is comfortable, clean, and safe. However, it is very basic and cold in terms of decor and having one restaurant. Any stay over 4-5 nights without a form of transportation and ability to explore will be very boring unlike Latitude 13 that is a warm and inviting property with interesting and appealing architecture and art.

The windows don’t latch tightly and the hallway windows are always left open, leaving the dust and smoke from the area to waft inside. Room bolt lock did not work, colleague saw a cockroach in her room, hot water was sporadic in my room, etc. this place looks new, but needs some repairs that don’t look to be taken care of. It was scarcely occupied.

This hotel has deteriorated over the 4 or so years that it has been operating. It advertises 5 stars, but has a 3 star standard. Food selection is limited, feels like there is a cost-cutting exercise going on. Cutlery was often dirty.. Rooms not cleaned properly.

Do not tell me it has been taken care of if you are not going to do anything about it OR follow up on the issue. It was not handled properly, not what a 5 star hotel should have handled it.
- LIMITED FOOD OPTIONS. I was mainly disappointed and dissatisfied with the menu options. There were some pretty weird dishes (not Malawian but some weird combination of ingredients. Also, they were not consistent with their prices, sometimes they would charge for a side and sometimes they wouldn't. The descriptions never matched exactly the dish.
