The place is beautiful & very well maintained. The corner sitting area out front is comfortable & welcoming. The room (on 3rd floor) had a magnificent view, & you get your flights of stairs done! My only areas of improvement are to install shelves in bathroom to create more storage space. Also, as I don’t like getting up @ sunrise (~5:45am), a blackout curtain in the small window in back would be nice. Overall great place & would recommend

The room was clean and came with AC, heating, and a TV, as well as a fridge, coffee machine, and microwave. The bathroom was straightforward, with a separate sink and mirror area. Walking to the main street only takes a couple of minutes, and there's plenty of food and coffee around to enjoy. The view from most of the rooms is great, and it's closer to the water than I expected. I would stay again if I'm in the area!

The room I rented indeed has a view of Morro Rock and the bay, but the view is through glass French doors. So, if you want to open the blinds for sunlight or to view the bay etc., be prepared to have anyone in the parking lot and/or walking up the street look directly into your room.

Everything else is great, great location, clean room, easy parking, nice staff, temperature control is great, faux fireplace is nice, and the bedding is great.

View was great. Hotel is clean. Only thing was we want to extend our trip by a day and there was multiple communication mix ups for two days. Our cards didn’t work at noon and the following day again, cleaning staff tried to clean when we were gone and staff assumed we had checked out. Not a big a deal but definitely something avoidable with communication

It was very spacious, clean, modern, and a welcoming place to stay. The office staff was very friendly and helpful, and had free coffee and light snacks. They even let us park on the property an hour before check-in when we arrived in Morro Bay early. The hotel has a wonderful view of the ocean and Morro Rock, and it was fun to watch the sunset from the balcony and the many glass windows facing the ocean.

The views from the room were perfect for seeing Morro rock. Friendly staff. Very minimalistic as far as hotel amenities go, no elevators. But a nice place to stay over all for a good price. An additional note, loved hearing the soft background noise of Sea Lions and seagulls while there.

This has become our go-to spot in Morro Bay.

It has great views of the bay and Morro Rock, is one block from the Embarcadero, across the street from Dorn's (you must eat there), 2 blocks from Main. Could not be a more perfect location.

Rooms are clean, with modern decor.

They just built a large patio area with firepits and seating, great for events or just hanging out.

Like many in the area, it's a motel, with parking right in front of rooms. They don't have an elevator, so if you have mobility issues, choose the ground floor.

If you are looking for a nice, centrally located spot, within easy walk of shops, restaurants, and the nature of the bay, at reasonable cost the Landing is it!

The hot tub and burn rings were closed. It's a pet friendly hotel but there's no designated area on site to take your dog for a walk to go to the bathroom. The double queen room I stayed in had a very small bathroom/shower, the fireplace didn't work, and there was no table in the room. The parking in the parking lot is pretty tight. One member of office staff was pretty rude, but the other employees were great.

NO WATER! NO WARNING! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The water was turned off very early in the morning without warning or any communication. After 30 minutes and my children holding their potty I finally said go ahead and go while I figure out what is going on. When I went to the front the lady was like there is a broken pipe. I said okay well some communication would have been nice. I went back and my kiddos were upset about having to go potty on top of potty, we couldn’t brush our teeth or take showers. After waiting a little longer we decided to leave because my kids were grossed out. We had to find a local park to go potty and brush our teeth again dealing with no showers on our vacation. I asked that we be compensated to date the manger has ignored my MULTIPLE calls and messages. She said she refunded me $20 however that hasn’t happened and is a slap in the face. I understand situations happen, but make it right! I always leave great reviews for companies and really try not to leave bad reviews. But this customer service is not appropriate for my kids having to be in an UNSANITARY situation.

I hadn’t stayed here before, and the location was better than expected! The parking was more than adequate, a little tight here and there, but not a problem. Our room was roomy and clean. I knew they’d remodeled somewhat recently, so was surprised that the mattresses hadn’t been replaced. I know it’s hard to do everything, so hoping that happens in the near future. We really enjoyed our stay, and the many staff members we met were all really helpful and friendly. Excited to come back!

This was our fourth stay at The Landing, and it’s easy to see why we keep coming back. The property is very clean, the staff is consistently friendly, and the location in Morro Bay is truly hard to beat.

The only minor downside is that the walls are a bit thin. It wasn’t a major issue, but we could hear a gentleman next door snoring and some kids playing. For the price and the unbeatable location, though, this is really the only negative thing I can point to.

Overall, the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff is wonderful, and the convenience of being right in the heart of Morro Bay makes this hotel an easy choice. We’ll definitely be staying here again in the future.

Over-priced, given it was a spring break weekend. Property felt old. A hook on the bathroom wall completely fell off. One bed sheet was not clean, but we arrived late at night so the staff was all gone and nobody was there to help. Location is pretty good, but all the beach views will be on the hallway side and it’s weird to leave your curtains up all the time because people will be passing by and see everything in the room.

This is an older property that has been recently partially remodeled. It advertised fireplaces, but they're actually electric heaters with a cheesy fireplace image. The beds were great. Bathrooms a little small but functional. Main room was very poorly lit - even the beside lights were dim. Rooms were quiet.

This property is located a half block off of the waterfront, which was wonderful. It's a very small hotel, with no elevator. That was fine for us but something to note. The rooms were advertised as having fire places. They have little plug-in portable ones, neither of which worked in the two rooms we rented. The front desk was no help. The rooms were nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We went midweek, so the price was pretty reasonable. It was not what we expected, the photo makes it look much bigger, but we had a comfortable stay and the location couldn't be beat.

I called to see if i can check in early.. and they said no.. we are running late on getting rooms ready.. please come at the 4pm check in time.. I get there at 4:05pm and they tell me.. sorry.. your room is not ready.. please come back at 5pm.. that is crazy,, check ins used to be at 2pm.. i had to wait till 5pm.. to check into our room.. thats bs.. then one of the lights didnt work in our room.. and i went and told front desk.. they gave me a replacement tube, so that i can install it.. WOW.. so now i get a late check in.. and i have to do your maintenance too.. unbelievable..

The room smelled like a sewer, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard, and the pillows were lumpy and had seen better days. Almost no comforter on the bed. The bed had blood stains on the edges of the sheets, varies other weird stains in order places of the sheets, and had writing in sharpie on the edges of the sheets telling the staff which direction the sheets needed to go. The remote for the tv had no backing so it was wrapped in tape to hold the batteries in. Half the outlets and usbs for charging did not work. The fridge did not get cold. They put us in a handicap accessible room so the bathroom/shower was one giant freezing cold room of tile that had no heater and the fan which made it even colder automatically went on when the light was turned on. When the shower was being used it sprayed the toilet and every part of that room was soaked after because the shower curtains that were not long enough could not shield the bathroom or sink portion from all of the water. There was no counter in the bathroom to put toiletries, just a small sink and the only outlet in the bathroom for the only small mirror in the whole room was in a very soaking wet bathroom. It was scary trying to plug the blowdryer into a wet outlet. Cheap toilet paper that was so thin it tore when you used it. The parking spots were abnormally small. We could not open the door when other people were parked on both sides and had to climb out the back. All and all this was really disappointing.

Honestly, this place was not the move fireplace wasn’t working the walls are paper thin they don’t have a front desk person after 9 o’clock, so it’s complete chaos called and texted no reply we had people running around yelling and screaming all hours of the night. People were up until three in the morning. I could hear them talk perfectly then on top of that we could hear people waking up at six in the morning walking around also the walls were so thin that we could hear sea lions at six in the morning as loud as can be I know we’re close to the beach, but wow the bathroom was a little dirty, too kind of grossed me out if I would’ve paid full price for this hotel, I would’ve lost my mind. I went during winter so it was cheaper but still I don’t know how there’s so many nine star reviews. Go any where else

We loved our stay at the Landing at Morro Bay. The location was central to all of our activities, the room was clean and decorated in a nautical theme, perfect for the area. Each and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and personable, helping us to feel at home. I always appreciate hotel toiletries that have a label that can be read in the shower, without my glasses 😉. Modest snacks and coffee were available in the office to start each day off right
