The hotel smelled as soon as we walked in. A musty smell. Our room was no better but a different smell. Turns out there were 2 pine tree air fresheners in the air conditioner. The kind you put in your car. No coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. We had the room booked for 4 nights but came home after 2. The staff was fine but most had been there for a very short time so that didn’t help.
Never staying there again or at any Super 8 if there is more than 1.

Check in took a long time. Room was very hot and took over an hour to cool down. No towels in the bathroom, when we asked for some we were told that we had to go down and get them ourselves while one of us was already out of the shower waiting to dry off. The bed sheets had spots on them. The checkout staff was very friendly and probably the only good experience.

We had 2 bath towels 2 washcloths and 1 hand towel.. for 2 nights …no hairdryer…hotel door was not secure. Pool was disgustingly dirty on the bottom. Property in hallways was very dirty and very stinky…ick!!!

The room itself was clean but the entire property is dated and looks nothing like the photos. The exterior has not been kept up. The first floor hallway had an unusual odor, although it did not permeate into the room. Breakfast looked to be just cold cereal although I did not actually have breakfast there. When I emptied the melted ice from the ice bucket into the sink, there were a multitude of brown flecks of who knows what left in the sink. Exterior doors to the property didn't lock, so no key required to enter.

The property doesn't look like the photos. The hot tub had very old yellow caution tape across it; it had been like that for a long time, yet the amenities list a hot tub, which we use when we have hotel stays. The pool surface is old and worn. We complained, and they moved us to a room with a jetted tub. The tub was so large that we kept sliding down. Very uncomfortable, we only stayed in for maybe 5 minutes. It was not pleasant at all. The heating/air conditioning unit did not work, and we froze the first night. They were snippy with me when I reported it the next morning, but they did get it working. The hall carpets are badly worn. The breakfast was awful. Your choices were frozen toaster waffles, microwaved thin circles of eggs, and microwaved (undercooked) sausages. Very small yogurts, and the other common things. Overall, we skipped it and went out for breakfast. The room was clean. Skip this hotel. It was awful.

This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, however we left after an hour and found different accommodations. The room smelled like a mix of dog and must, there were building materials in the hallway, and the hot tub was out of service. A lot of people seemed to be milling around the parking lot and/or long term tenants. Overall this place was substandard for our needs.

The hotel had pieces of wood propped into the window tracks on our room and many others to keep the window closed. There also was a strong smell of Marijuana in the hallway to our room. My daughter and I didnt feel safe so we left and found another room in town.

Our room was clean but in need of repairs and upgrades. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and friendly. Our TV didn't work when we got to our room but upon calling the front desk the man came right to our room and fixed it. Our bed frame was very noisy as the mattress was on a metal box. There was no blow dryer in our bathroom. We picked this motel because it had a hot tub but it was out of order. There were a couple broken down cars in the parking lot. The whole building is in dire need of a complete makeover so spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Staff was friendly and willing to help. Property itself was rundown. I had ground floor room (110) that had cracked window, inoperable door lock, bathroom light didn’t work. The odors in hall and room were foul. I could detect the scent of cleaning agents though. The cleaning staff did their job, room was clean but there is so much wear and tear on this property that no amount of cleaning will help. It needs a major renovation.

Stayed on the main floor. Our rooms bathroom was very small, the door nearly hit the front of the toilet when opening. To get out of it was tricky. The hallway and room smelled musty, im assuming from the pool being on the main level, and most likely lack of proper ventilation. The Ac unit worked, although it was noisy and kept kicking on and off through the night. This is a place to stay if your a construction worker working on the road and need an inexpensive place to crash.

Old rundown but surprisingly clean and comfortable beds.
Checked in everything was okay, went out for the evening, came back, couldn't get into our room, key card wouldn't work.
Also had brought back hot food which was not hot anymore by the time we got into our room.
Went to the front desk, which by the way is way at the front of the hotel, our room was way in the back in between a long Corridor and the pool area in the back building, attendant reprogrammed our keys, didn't work.
Went back to the front desk and the attendant said she would be up in a minute with the master key to let us in the room.
Attendant came up with the wrong keys had to go back across the whole hotel to get the right keys.
We thought it might be the battery in the door so we went back to the front desk and got a new battery, actually ended up getting several and several more trips to the front desk and that didn't fix it.
I am a smoker so I had to prop my door open if I wanted to go outside and smoke cuz I couldn't get back into my room for the rest of the night unless I want to walk all the way back to the front of the hotel to have the attendant let me in my room as the owner stated he would be in the morning to fix it.
Also the toilet ran constantly it was so loud and ran so much that we ended up turning the water off, then back on when we needed to use it.
Talked to the front desk at check out about the problems and they said sorry that's it!

I have stayed here several times before while in Red Wing visiting family. My rooms have always been very clean and quiet, even when on the side facing the train tracks. In-room frig and microwave have always been cold and clean. My only complaint is the distance from the lobby/breakfast area to the wing of rooms, but that is a minor inconvenience. There is close parking to the rooms. Pool area is very nice with a convenient set of bathrooms and shower. Breakfast is basic and on busy weekends is sometimes slow to be refilled. I have stayed at several other hotels in town, but this is my hotel of choice.

We had a very disturbing experience that left me feeling unsafe and would definitely not recommend. First off the check in was smooth and then room we were given was in older part of hotel. You could smell people smoking weed in the back parking lot and entryway we checked into a room that was disgusting had broken latch and stunk like sewer. Beds were old and AC was dusty and not working. The front desk man came up and knocked within minutes of us checking in and told us he gave us the wrong room and had new keys for us (I hadn’t even notified him yet so chalked it up to human error) the next room smelled better and was clear across to a newer addition, AC worked quickly. Right away I noticed newer beds, although there was an attached door to an adjoining room that wouldn’t shut fully and looked like furniture drag marks along the wall and door. We had to pull upwards on the entire door to get it to latch. The scary part (I have kids) and at around 3am I woke up to someone jiggling the attached room door and trying to get in knocking then speaking Spanish, then stopping more loud talking and making loud “wailing” noises until about 4:30 - 5 am. I ended up propping stuff against the adjoining door and got the heck outta there early. Breakfast was pretty sparse with what they offered and the pool was looking like it needs to be drained and cleaned at the bottom. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel, DO NOT recommend at all!

The front desk person was super friendly. They were the only one working on a day when they were sold due to a local event. The beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was smelly. It seems the smell was in the sheets and towels. There was no hair dryer. The bath towel was really small. The floors seemed grimy. The smell of the room was in my clothes after leaving. It was overpriced for the quality- but I assume there was an upcharge due to demand.

Well let’s start by saying the staff were amazing however it was a weird lobby area not in center of hotel off to the side. I only saw one dolly cart luckily I had my wagon I use for softball gear . The smell was not pleasant. I bought car freshener and put in air conditioner to help with smell. There were only two towels in bathroom even though there was three of us . I did go ask for another towel and got one. The smoke alarm went off in our room by us Taking a shower. Our bathroom door did not shut .
The pool area was not vented and only 6 chairs for parents to sit in with several softball teams staying there not good, the door to the outside of pool area has no door handle so there was a big hole maybe that was the ventilation for pool area ? Again staff was great

Booked one night stay with a non-refundable rate the same day we needed to stay - as we were traveling through in the process of moving. We chose this hotel because we have one cat and it was listed as “pet friendly” with dogs welcome and other pets considered. We noted that we were traveling with a cat. They did not allow the cat even though he was kenneled. They were rude and flat refused to refund the booking. On top of that, the property is very run down. Musty smelling, outdated by decades, dark, and extremely over priced - glad we didn’t stay there in the end. However, they still do not deserve to keep our $160.

The only good thing I have to say is the room was clean. Having said that the hotel was horrible. The pool was slimy and unusable. The hot tub was shut down. The two vending machines were broke and the building was literally unkept. Definitely not a pace I would stay or recommend to anyone.

Cannot complain too much for the price, but would definitely would upgrade to a newer stay next time in the area. Our room had a bad smell to it. To shut the bathroom door, you practically had to step into the tub. The rack to hang your clothes was right along side of the bed and when Tami got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, one of the coathangers poked her in the eye. Very small, and in need of upgrading. But if you are simply looking for an cheap place to stay in Redwing, it will work for you if you are just looking to crash there at night and not actually spend much time in the room.
