While picturesque from the exterior and entry way, this hotel is not all that when it comes to service and amenities. Very expensive considering little to no service/amenities. If you stay anytime outside of “summer season” everything is closed (pool) (air conditioning) or short staffed (restaurant, front desk). I ate dinner one night in restaurant which was mediocre food and very slow service (they had a group of 30+) in addition to diners and only 2 staff to work ALL. I did not eat breakfast as it was very expensive and not anything amazing - a block away many restaurants with breakfast specials.
The hotel and rooms above ground floor are —funky. Strange configuration of rooms themselves along hallways as bizarre toilets in the rooms (they are shin high - so below the knee which means almost kneeling?). But as a single traveler I also got a room (room 125) with only one window which opened to a wall and a flat roof so was very dark - even with vollet open. Parking was also very expensive and even though I prepaid the 3 nights stay, they took 110% of the amount of those 3 nights as a guarantee. Overall, expensively mediocre.

the hotel is so beautiful and the location amazing but the rooms really need an upgrade. the rugs are a bit shabby and there was no place to plug in my computer or iPhone to recharge. at least in my room but I have found that to be so in the past. and I had no hot water in my shower.

Toilets in the room are sooooo small compared to the size of the room itself. If you've ever been in the toilet of a hotel at a ski resort, where you knees almost touch the door when seated, this is pretty much it. No clue why the opted for that, especially when you consider they installed both a shower AND a bathtub... You can also add that it was extremly warm in the room, no clue why as the temperature was set to 15°. But this hotel is really well placed, its building and inside court are great, the staff is nice, and it was worth the price, so I think I'd go back there again if I had to visit Avignon again.

Charming hotel in a very good location. The room (old section) was beautiful, with a view of the courtyard and fountain. The walls were thick and good windows prevented noise from the courtyard. Hallway noise was not an issue, due to the bedroom being through an additional door. Comfortable beds, with quality linens.

Cependant les chambres sont vraiment pas jolies ( déco inexistante, vieillissante, odeur d'égouts dans la salle d'eau). Rien à dire sur le personnels feminins mais le personnel masculin.....pas de sourire, l'impression de déranger.....bref ! Ce n'est pas un mauvais hôtel mais il y aurait des choses à revoir.

This property is a beautiful historic building with tons of charm and a great location! Unfortunately, we didn’t understand the room options based on the description and ended up in a more modern “duplex” part of the building with an odd room configuration… The toilet was outside of the main hotel room in an “entryway” of sorts, and our exterior room door opened directly beside the restroom to be used for pool guests.

Perfect location right outside the Avignon City Central train station. The entry courtyard is stunning with a historic charm. While the room wasn’t ready until check-in time, I was happy to get access to the rooftop pool and wait with my sunglasses and book. My room was in the old section of the hotel - a simple, smaller room on the top floor with a comfortable bed. For those wondering, the air conditioning was more than enough to keep me cool during 90F days! It just takes a little while to cool the whole room - then I even turned it down. When I come back to Avignon, I’ll stay here again!

Room in the old part, best avoid if you can up a set of stone stairs not great if you have lots of lugguage. Nice room, but TV didnt work, wifi barely reached the room so was spotty at best, room only had one avaible plug socket, not what you need to keep the various devices topped up overnight. Air conditioning made a lot of noise, but barely did anything, too hot to sleep. Hotel didnt seem concerned to help i eventually got a fan from a member of staff which gave some air movement and made things bareable again, but then had to unplug the one item that had some charge to use it!

I arrived on bicycle to a very basic reception desk with a long wait. I asked if I could take my bicycle to my room but was shocked to be told under no circumstances would that be allowed. What followed was shocking, one young man got involved and when i questioned why he was getting involved he told me to 'shut up' 'or else!'. I have never ever been spoken to and threatened like this before. Another a English guest I met had a very similar experience when checking in, the same man refused to accept they had 2 rooms booked and tried to charge for an extra room despite having confirmation. Very aggressive unapologetic staff on front desk including the reception manager. If you are English stay away from this hotel!!

Peaceful and quiet respite just one side street away from a main action filled street. Conveniently located a few short blocks from the Avignon Centre SNCF station—we dropped our bags and explored! Great hotel that we will return to. My only complaint- the shower pressure was meh.

The property is historic and picturesque. Our attic room was quaint, but its low ceilings probably would be difficult for tall people. (We are short.) There is a rooftop terrace, nice for sunning, with a small pool. The restaurant, including an outdoor patio, is good, and we also enjoyed the breakfast. (A minor complaint: creaky wooden stairs to the attic room and also an occasional very loud noise, which might have been the elevator?)
The employee who checked us in was efficient, but the night reception staff was wonderful! Around 11:00 pm, we realized that we had a transportation problem, and they quickly helped us solve it!
The hotel location, mere minutes from the Avignon Centre train station and just inside the city walls, is extremely walkable to the Palais des Pâpes and the Pont de Avignon, among other touristic sites. We rented bikes for a short ride through the city and on an island directly across from Pont de Avignon.
Avignon is also centrally located for day trips to other towns and sites, such as Pont du Gard.

Lovely grounds with outside seating areas. Unfortunately I must of been I a newer side of the hotel (room 12) which I can only compare the room to that of a storage container. The space was not laid out to the best of its abilities, tight space for toilet and dark bathroom. Wouldn’t recommend the room but would revisit the hotel, in a different style room.

Beautiful and characterful hotel in an excellent location. Five minutes walk from train station and 5 mins from the main squares and bars, restaurants etc. Friendly and efficient staff, happy to help when our air conditioning stopped working. Was fixed in 30 minutes and they also brought an extra fan in the meantime. Rooftop terrace with pool nice, but it was 34 degrees during our stay and there are no parasols/umbrellas just deckchairs. Small shaded area but gets full. Portable parasols would help with this. Breakfast ok, same everyday. A great place to stay in Avignon, near the bustle but very quiet.

Injured while showering!
Sadly our stay was not good. While showering literally the steel grate by the shower head fell on me. It hit my shin then my toes. I had marks and bruises and my toes were swollen. I immediately reported this to the front desk and was told \"this has never happened before\" and when I asked if they had any medical supplies or help they said no. They scheduled the maintenance man to come at 0930 the next day and he showed at 11. At no point during the remaining days of our stay did they offer to comp anything or even check on me to see if I was okay. It was beyond unacceptable and they are lucky I was not hurt worse. Also we woke daily to new bug bites each morning. There were bugs clearly in the room and biting us in our sleep. I would not recommend this place which is unfortunate because the location is great. Lastly, the photos are not accurate to what the hotel and pool actually look like. I'm extremely disappointed in how our vacation turned out and how little care was given when they saw my injuries and even had a picture of the injuries.

We stayed in a room located in a strange modern yet outdated annex to the original building. Room was dark and unwelcoming; shower head wouldn't stay in position and soaked the floor under water pressure. Doors slammed in other rooms during early hours. Breakfasting area was overcrowded; no trays to carry buffet food to the table - saw a poor disabled man knocked off his feet by a woman flailing around at the coffee machine. Pool was full of leaves. They tried to charge us for a meal in the restaurant we didn’t have, claiming we’d signed for it!

Lovely hotel, well located, great breakfast, curteous staff. My room was relatively inexpensive and quiet, however the window faced a wall. The decor was dark and the carpet was stained. I could not find any electrical outlet near the bed to charge my phone — I had to unplug the coffee machine.
