Incredibly loud, persistent and very annoying noise from local bands performing on the beach. Their music, if you dare to call it that, has non stop drums, trumpets and many other wind instruments all competing for the fastest and loudest sounds they can make. I even saw several of these bands performing within several meters of each other. How can the hotel continue to tolerate this. It will certainly drive away repeat customers.
The windows are very poor to insulate from the noise. Simply awful. And it goes on all day long. Certainly not an incentive to stay here or anywhere along the beach. it seems hotels in this area have no control over these beach bands.
The hotel management apologized for the inconvenience and said it would not happen again. They did not follow up on this as the bands returned every day. Impossible to have a quiet afternoon or evening in the room or on the balcony for that matter. The hotel was very nice but the noise factor makes it unlikely we will return.

First time experience in this resort. Convenient location, safe environment, clean facility, pool with relaxing lounge chairs & lifeguard on duty. Walk downstairs to beach. Private lounge chairs & umbrellas in the beach area for guest. Shopping just steps away. The rooms are very clean, spacious with beautiful ocean view & phenomenal attention received from our room service (Beatriz). She made sure what our needs were and cleaned our room daily. Highly recommend this resort!

There were nice water dispensers in the lobby, but they filled them only once in the morning and by noon they were empty, and only 2 small bottles brought to the room per day.

Maybe this is the way that hotels are in Mexico, if which is the case I would award 5 stars due to the coffee, but the water issue should be rectified.

This is a n ew hotel with some construction still in progress (Nov 2025). The front door man is a very friendly and helpful fellow. The shower floor is slippery when wet and needs a grab handle. Parking is underground and still under construction. Excellent beach views.

Construction taking place. I think it was the restaurant under construction. Lots of restaurants around the area. Only real issue is the Limited parking. I got lucky and was able to get a parking spot. Parking spots are for small cars. If you have a truck, good luck. View was stunning from our patio. Patio is for standing only. Chair does not fit on the patio. But the view is worth standing and watching the sunset.

Under construction! It’s a tall, concrete, rather soulless hotel in a long line of hotels just like it. The pool is outside the front lobby- no real seclusion. The beach is dirty but swimmable.if you have to stay here, try to get an ocean view. But the Zona Dorada is not for those who want a tranquil getaway.

My stay at the hotel over the weekend was excellent! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the pool area was well-kept with an amazing view of the ocean. The buffet food was delicious, with plenty of variety to choose from. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. I also loved that convenient stores, bars, and restaurants were within walking distance, which made everything even easier. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Let me start off by saying that Mazatlan is my favorite place to go on vacation. We visit a few times a year and always choose a different hotel for the experience. This hotel is in a great location, however, the customer service is not great. Upon arrival, the lady that helped us was bitter because I always prepay for my room and she wasn't able to upsell or have me add to our stay. As soon as she saw I prepaid, it was an unpleasant attitude towards us the entire time. We didn't even receive towels while we were there. The coffee wasn't refilled in our room and when we went downstairs to ask for a packet of salt we were denied. It was in a way where this lady made us feel like we were horrible people for asking for salt. I have never been treated so poorly. She was very condescending. I asked for towels and they never showed so we went and bought our own. We got stuck in the elevator because she never told us how to use our room key for the elevator and we weren't the only ones. Then on a different day the elevator broke down and she had an \"oh well\" kind of attitude. Luckily for us that we don't let things like that ruin our vacation. We still had a great time, but not at the hotel at all. Never again.

This Holiday Inn exceeded our expectations as compared to others. Room was spacious, exceptionally clean, bed was comfortable, housekeeping were excellent. Only suggestions are that it would be nice to have a small mini fridge to keep refreshments cold. The ocean view from the room was the highlight. Otherwise my husband & I had concerns with the pigeon excrement in and around the pool area, so I was hesitant to use the pool. The staff seemed indifferent at times but the cleaning staff seemed attentive. The rooms look well used could use an upgrade.
