Fantastic place. 150 m (2 min) to the sandy beach without stones with convenient entry into the sea. The apartment is clean, safe, modern, fully equipped. Totally renovated. Greek flavor in everything.

I'd read prior reviews about grumpy owner and what with it being end of season, they could certainly use a break themselves but thought with ultimate politeness and a smile, we might have been warmly received, i was wrong on that point. The buildings that have been updated and refurbed looked lovely but unfortunately we were in the old part which while clean, was very basic. We didn't have hot water the first few days, it went from warm to tepid to get out in a minute! After other guests left tho, there was a nice shower to be had. We dined there the first night as it had been a long day and the outside area is gorgeous, its so beautiful to sit by the pool and eat, the gyros we had were lovely and we were very grateful for it, again though, i was made to feel like a pain in the bum for asking to place an order. The common areas of the property are lovely, beautiful gardens with lemons and limes growing from the trees, lovely sun loungers and a gorgeous pool. We went to get away and relax and it’s perfect for that. Its a 2 min walk to the beach which is lovely with lots of activities to be had, it's a 1 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of which many were closed with it being end of season. We did enjoy the great hospitality and food of The Bull restaurant and The Red Lion. A nice base to stay while exploring Malia but i do feel that we weren't particularly welcome or the management need a nice holiday to unwind after what must have been a very busy season.

Hospitality was poor by the owners, no greeting on arrival. The room was ok, house keeping was poor three days no clean or fresh towels. Ended up buying toiletries from supermarket and new towels. Breakfast was terrible, went out each day. The menu was limited allot of food was not available to order as they had no ingredients. The location of stay is perfect can walk to all amenities. Overall 4/10.

Stopped in Malia for one night to get a taste of the action - turns out Malia is a ghost town in October but enough places still open for a quiet night out. Hotel apartment was perfectly adequate for a night, and very cheap. Staff were very smiley and helpful. Bar is cheap and the pool area very nice. Room a bit shabby but fine if you’re not spending much time in there, we took the most basic option and ultimately you get what you pay for. Fridge-freezer worked fine. Shower was decent but the dispenser for shower gel/shampoo was empty so had to use a bar of hand soap (provided, along with ample towels - I’m sure they’d have refilled it but once you’re in there it’s a bit late!). We didn’t make use of the plug-in hob or the breakfast but literally hundreds of local food options. Location is spot on, a quiet road which is 100m to Malia beach in one direction and 100m to the main strip in the other. I don’t expect to go back to Malia but for the hard-partying sun-worshippers Malia caters for you couldn’t do much better for value than Stelios.

Not great, but quite decent hotel

A little of a Las Vegas style in the rooms, which is not a surprise when you consider this is Malia. Hotel looks great on the outside - the garden, the pool, the reception... The quality of the rooms is not so good, but not bad either. Bed is comfortable, linen and towels are shining clean, unfortunately not the same can be said about the floor. A little more attitude towards hygiene would be appreciated. The worst thing is the shower cabin: 1/4 circle with 75 cm radius. You can hardly move in there, what to say - have a decent shower. But my overall impression is good. Especially having in mind that the beach is no more than 200 m away, and it's a nice sand beach. The reason for which I will most likely not stay there again, is not the hotel, but Malia itself. But for those who like party resorts, it could be a good value.

Wonderful hotel

My wife and I had to come to Crete as my daughter had been hospitalised at the start of her holiday. We booked in to Stelios Gardens to be near her when she came out of hospital. The staff of the hotel were wonderful and very accommodating and I could not thank them enough. The pool area was very clean and quiet with a laid-back vibe. At the edge the restaurant area although small was also very nice and very relaxed especially in the evening with the pool lit up next to the tables.The food was always very good and the menu extensive and reasonably priced. If we came to Malia again we would without a doubt stay at Stella’s Gardens. Again thank you to all the staff there for making our stay easy and allowing our daughter to stay on until she could fly.

Loved it here. It is a little oasis of calm. The pool was large,clean and was never a problem in getting a sunbed. The rooms were a little small but comfy. Air con worked well.

This is by far the nicest place I have ever stayed at in Greece! Perfect location, 3 min walk to the beach and in the other direction 3 min walk to the town. We stayed in the superior studio which also included a small kitchen with sink and stove top. The rooms were spotless and had newly renovated bathrooms. The owner had great suggestions for a car rental and was always around to help. There is even a night guard so the property is very safe. The pool and gardens are so beautiful. It is obvious that the owner takes pride in his this property. Perfect stay!

A little gem in the heart of Maila

We couldn't be happier with our choice. Everything was simply perfect. Location was in the heart of Malia, close to most restaurants and shops. Our luxury 2-bedroom apartment had an amazing interior, it was also spacious and very clean. Pool area was great as well. We would love to return there some day.

Disappointing and dirty

Room was dirty and bathroom had mould in the sink along with lots of hair in th shower upon arrival. It smelt as though the room was continually mopped with dirty water. Staff were rude and we decided to leave after 1 night rather than stay for the 5 we had booked. We chose the most expensive room thinking it would be better but this wasn’t the case at all.

Fantastic hotel, perfect location.

This was my first stay at Stelios Gardens and I was amazed at how beautiful it was.
I am a solo traveller and felt incredibly safe and cared for so I would highly recommend to other solo's.
A 3 minute walk to the beach and a 3 minute walk to the busy strip, however it's tucked away and is very quiet.
The gardens and pool areas are spectacularly beautiful.
The rooms and facilities are spotless with a stunning walk in shower, small kitchen facilities with a fridge, balcony at the front and back,they are cleaned every day by Danya and Eva, who are so friendly as are all the staff, Demetris works in the bar area and she is a gem.
Fresh food is served all day and specials by mama are divine!
Next to the pool area are beautiful toilets with a great shower so you can freshen up after swimming.
Yannis and Maria are fantastic hosts, making sure you are happy at Stelios and I was, it's just like a haven, a peaceful retreat away from the hustle of Malia.
I've been to Malia many times but this is by far my best stay!
I'm already looking forward to my next holiday.
Thank you everyone and Stelios for trying to teach me Greek!
A perfect base to explore the quaint old town and surrounding areas.

Extended Stay!!

I Loved the location of Stelios Gardens close to beach and town all short walk.The property is well groomed and nicely decorated and the rooms are CLEAN and comfortable. The pool was Fantastic! With Lotz of comfortable cushions on the loungers plus shaded 'bed` loungers.
It's far away enough to get a good night sleep even though `The strip' for all the action is near by

Die Superior Studios sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Ausstattung wirkt teilweise veraltet und einige Dinge waren nicht mehr voll funktionsfähig. Auch die Sauberkeit entsprach leider nicht ganz den Erwartungen – es schien, als würden die Zimmer nur oberflächlich gereinigt. Der Empfang war zunächst sehr freundlich, allerdings hatten wir den Eindruck, dass diese Freundlichkeit im weiteren Verlauf unseres Aufenthalts etwas nachließ. Ob das vielleicht daran lag, dass wir im Hotel selbst kaum etwas verzehrt haben, können wir nicht sagen – der Gedanke kam uns aber.

We cannot recommend this hotel. While the location is good and the building itself is nice, the service is very disappointing. Rooms are not cleaned daily despite paying for that service, and the towels were dirty and even torn. When we addressed these issues, the management downplayed them and was not honest about the situation. Unfortunately, these experiences overshadow all the positive aspects of the hotel. We decided not to return

Ich hatte einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Stelios Gardens. Es handelt sich um einen familiengeführten Betrieb, und genau das macht den besonderen Charme dieses Hotels aus. Die gesamte Familie ist unglaublich herzlich, hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und gut aufgehoben.

Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gepflegt, es wird stets darauf geachtet, dass alles in bestem Zustand ist. Besonders positiv ist mir aufgefallen, dass jederzeit auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse der Gäste eingegangen wird – man merkt, dass das Wohl der Besucher hier an erster Stelle steht.

Der Poolbereich ist ebenfalls sehr sauber und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Wer lieber ans Meer möchte, hat den Strand in nur wenigen Gehminuten erreicht. Zudem liegt das Hotel direkt in der Stadt, sodass man in unmittelbarer Nähe einkaufen, essen oder etwas trinken gehen kann.

Insgesamt habe ich mich hier rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Kombination aus familiärer Atmosphäre, Sauberkeit, perfekter Lage und freundlichem Service macht Stelios Gardens für mich zu einer klaren Empfehlung. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder, denn mein Aufenthalt hat mir sehr gefallen!

Posizione eccellente vicino alla spiaggia e vicino alla movida notturna,la struttura è curata in molti particolari, questo almeno per quanto riguarda la sistemazione " de luxe", le altre avrebbero bisogno di un upgrade,ma tutto sommato accettabili, i proprietari sono gentilissimi e molto disponibili,piscina molto bella con lettini e sdraio a disposizione.

Newly renovated hotel, beautiful and very nice athmosphere. Room was spacious with kitchette which i didnt use, nice balcony, big bathroom. Water pressure in the shower very good!
Around the hotel there are 2 big all inclusive hotels and one of them or some bar had every evening night show. My room was at the back of the hotel yard and the night show was just behind trees next the hotel. Very noisy.
Very good breakfast with many options. Pool was nice and nice sun loungers. Beach just 5min walk, sunbeds rent by restaurant between the all inclusive hotels or just a empty beach on the right.

Check in was confusingly bad, didnt feel welcome at all and had no info about anything (e.g. when the breakfast and how much, restaurant opening hours,). Felt more like i bothered them when the lady finally came to the reception. Check out was just "thank you", not interested how was my stay.

Location was good just a short walk from the shops and restaurants, and old town also near. The street was guiet but didnt like the big hotels around.

Es war zwar modern, aber alles so halbfertig und es gab eine Kakerlaken Plage, zuerst wurden wir vertröstet, haben aber dann ein anderes Zimmer bekommen. Auch die Handtücher wurden nicht gewechselt.

Der erste Eindruck beim Betreten der Anlage war toll. Gepflegte Anlage, schöner Pool und alles sehr hübsch dekoriert.

Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist okay aber das Bad eine Katastrophe. Wir hatten während des Aufenthalts fast nie warmes Wasser. Man sagte uns dann jeden Tag, wir sollen später duschen, da das Wasser erst warm wird wenn die Sonne scheint. Im April ist kalt duschen auf Kreta nicht angenehm.

Die Ausstattung der Küche ist ebenfalls sehr einfach (Geschirr, Wasserkocher,Herdplatte).

Das Essen im Hotel hat uns persönlich nicht geschmeckt.

Wir würden die Unterkunft nicht nochmal buchen.

Schönes Boutique Hotel

Super schöne Hotelanlage mit gepflegtem Garten. Restaurant war sehr gut und Einrichtung Apartment war auch gut. Maria und Giannis sind hilfsbereit.
Nähe zu Strand und Zentrum Malia ist praktisch.
Apartment wurde jeden 2. Tag geputzt, aber trotzdem war es etwas staubig unter Betten und hinter Sofa.

Un établissement scandaleux avec un gérant qui méprise les clients.
Il nous reçoit d'un air suffisant et nous réclame 8e/jour pour avoir le droit à la climatisation alors que c'était inclus dans les prestations payées chez Hotel.com
Sans parler de la piscine, certes propre mais c'est de l'eau de javel à l'état pur.
De plus, ils annoncent un studio équipé avec kichenette : or il n'y a pas de casserole, pas de couverts, pas d'eponge... Bref, rien pour diner dans le studio.
Un hôtel à fuir... Un gérant qui ne représente en rien le bon état d'esprit des Crétois.
C'est honteux !

Schöne Anlage und gute Preisleistungsverhältnis.

Bei der Sauberkeit sieht es nicht so gut aus. Legen Sie mehr Wert drauf ..dann fühlen sich die Gäste auch besser.
Es ist schade für die neue Zimmer .. Luxury Appartement.. es fehlen einige Sachen die Sie in Zimmebeschreibung haben. Es gab keinen Duschgel/Shampoo in Bad. Seife bekommt man nur nachdem man 2 mal gefragt hat .. Bei der Dusche fließt das ganze Wasser ins Zimmer .. nur ein Mülleimer in ganzem Zimmer und der war auch kaputt.

Keine Fliegengitter so das man Nachts sehr viele Mücken im Zimmer hat.

Sehr nah am Strand und gut gelegen. Restaurant empfehlenswert , gute Preise und nette Mitarbeiter.

Het is een gezellig kleinschalig hotel gerund door familie. Hét heeft een mooie tuin en een prachtig zwembad wat beide keurig onderhouden zijn. Onze kamer was netjes doch de badkamer vergt hier en daar wat onderhoud. Het ligt op loopafstand 5 min van het strand en 20 minuutjes lopen naar het oude gezellige stadscentrum van Malia. Hier vind je leuke gezellige authentieke restaurantjes met de heerlijke Griekse gerechten.
Kortom het is voor herhaling vatbaar.
Met dank aan Stelios die samen ( denk met z’n vader moeder en oma) ons verblijf tot een aangenaam verblijf hebben gemaakt!

Nous n'avons pas eu la chambre demandée pendant 2 jours .puis celle en remplacement avait la porte de douche cassée ainsi que la bonde du lavabo.personne n'est venu pour réparation malgré ma réclamation.Menage vite bâclé 4 jours sans changement.on sentait la fin de saison.Seuls francais de l'hôtel avec hollandais et allemands fumeurs au restaurant,le manager nous considèrait comme négligeable car non buveur de vin ou bière.bords de la piscine très sale pas nettoyé durant les 2 semaines

Hotel reservé pour une nuit alors peut-être qu'ils ont des chambres pour les personnes de passages.
La personne au comptoirs, charmant mais tout été payant. La Clim 7euro mais j'ai dit non et je l'aieu quand même. Pas de télécommande pour la télévision mêmes si ce n'étais pas notre priorité.
La literie, pas adaptée à notre confort et pourtant on est pas compliqué.
Sinon l'hôtel est super bien situé et la piscine est super sympa et tout est propre.

Die Zimmer sprachen überhaupt nicht mit den Bildern überein und das Frühstück war furchtbar und das W Lan hat nicht funktioniert. Aber für den Preis war es alles echt ok. Der Service war sehr persönlich und individuell. Wir haben beim Frühstück kostenfrei Extra Wünsche bekommen und diePoolanlage ist sehr süß gemacht. Das Hotel liegt nur 100m vom öffentlichen Strand entfernt.

Ich würde es warscheinlich sogar wieder buchen da Preis Leistung ok war!

L'hotel era parzialmente ristrutturato, ovviamente le foto, nella maggior parte dei casi , ritraevano la struttura nella parte nuova. La nostra camera era molto vecchia , con rotture varie su arredo, bagno piccolo e molto decadente. Però il personale era gentile e le parti comuni nuove e pulite, buona la colazione. Buon accesso al mare.
Basta scegliere una camera ristrutturata.
