The staff and food were excellent. This is not a fancy hotel. Close to the road and simple furnishings but it was clean and surrounded by trees and plants making it a tropical oasis. You can easily walk to a well stocked grocery store on your way to Brasilito beach. To get to Conchal beach you have to walk from Brasilito due to private property that prevents beach access. Beautiful beach.

Brightly decorated, warm and friendly staff and good location not far to walk to the beach. Room was comfortable and clean. Food was good with attentive and generous service in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Our breakfast server Donald went the extra mile to ensure we had what we needed and to share local information.
We wanted to stay in a locally owned small hotel rather than a big flashy chain in this place was great

We are staying for one night before we head over to the Westin. Dixon has been awesome. He takes great care of you. He is the one who checked us in, and waited on us at dinner. We ended up ordering a Pizza. It was very, very good, and I eat a lot of Pizza. I never expected to get a Pizza this good in Costa Rica. The drinks were good also. $10 for 2 at happy hour and they didn't skimp on the booze. Rooms are basic, but clean. That's all I need. Saved a lot of money staying here for one night and we had a awesome time.

The hotel is simple with lovely landscaping. The staff are all great people, very friendly and engaging. In particular Donald in the restaurant. Also Jennifer at the front desk, who made sure any issues were dealt with promptly. The groundskeeper whose name I do not remember is a super friendly gentleman. The rooms were cleaned daily, the cleaning staff are efficient and friendly as well. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we come to this area. This hotel is a very good value as well. We spent two weeks here. Thanks to all you folks at Conchal hotel for making our stay very enjoyable.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. Our children enjoyed the pool which was clean and well cared for. We ate three meals at the restaurant which were all great. The staff were all friendly. We saw iguanas and monkeys in the courtyard which was also fun. Highly recommend.

There was no hot water in the shower or sink for the entire stay. Hotel staff attempted to fix the problem with no success.
When I booked our trip the hotel was supposed to have breakfast included and on check in we were informed that breakfast would not be included. I have screenshots showing breakfast included as well as paperwork at the hotel showing that breakfast is included. No breakfast!
The room did not have adequate places for luggage. The room could have been cleaner. The concrete floors had sand and dirt on them. The door did not seal. You could see daylight under the door.
I really can’t understand how this property was rated a 9.2 by Expedia???

I stayed at Conchal on my first & last day in Costa Rica. The staff at Conchal are exceptional! They go above & beyond to ensure you're comfortable & well taken care of. They were also very flexible with check in times. The shuttle service to and from the airport was seamless & communication from the hotel was great. The Costa Rican breakfast included was so delicious & the drinks made by the fabulous bartender Mr. X were amazing!

Jennifer at Reception is phenomenal. She arranged a catamaran & snorkel tour for me with lunch and transportation to & from the hotel included.

The rooms are cozy, A/C was perfect & pool is nice. The greetings from the moneys & Iguanas around the property were unforgettable. 100% would stay here again.

Near many beaches - Great food

The staff are quite nice, and make the place feel like home; they are accommodating. There is coffee, tea, water, and ice available in the restaurant at all hours. Breakfast is quality, chef and staff are professional. Restaurant food is of good quality, we ordered food to our room several times, delicious, especially the papaya salad.

We had the “honeymoon room”, which had a king bed, basic minimal furnishings, and non-smart TV. Wi fi worked well mostly, hot water in shower never ran out, air con and ceiling fan (a little loud) worked . This room is on the 2nd floor, with front of room balcony area shared with another room next door. There was no one in next door room for our stay, but otherwise it could have been not so great for privacy. Our room had a side balcony, but it faced directly into other rooms in building beside. There seems little privacy in any of the rooms outdoor areas, as diners in the restaurant can look directly at you. The hotel was not so busy during this time, so I felt privacy was decent. During busy times I would not be so sure.

There is a lot to do in the area; this a great homebase to explore the region. We did not use the pool, but it looks ok. The property gardens are beautiful, well maintained and diverse. We saw many animals on the property, including monkeys right out front our room!

Inside of Conchal hotel made you feel like you were not next to a busy street with its beautiful plants and trees cascaded all over. All the staff were extremely pleasant and nice. We were particularly pleased with the front desk agent Jennifer and our morning server Donald. We forgot the name of our first server but he was very friendly and Welcoming as well. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway in the jungle surrounded by animals and beautiful plants. We will definitely be back!!!

You can only say so much if the price is right. The highlight of this stay is the location; Brasilito is the most walkable and generally well equipped of all of the surrounding areas for the price. It has several great restaurants, ice cream places, all for a good price. The staff here are friendly and helpful, the hotel is quite serene with its foliage and animals, and we even got to see monkies once. Some of the hotel, like our room, was slightly run down with a light that flickered, etc. There isn't much sound isolation so your neighbors might wake you up, but the beds were comfy. We found the included breakfast unfortunately subpar compared to other restaurants. The restaurant's dinner prices were also very steep as is the case in general at a hotel. The staff were very dedicated and why I had a hard time writing this review because they were so nice. Next time we will consider somewhere else, maybe on the beach.

It’s not clear from info about this place that it’s directly on a highway and not easy access to a beach. It’s also a bar restaurant that has music at night that may disrupt guests. Also it smelled like a bathroom in the common areas, maybe due to some cleaning product? I’m sure it’s fine for some folks, but we got there with our kids and realized it was not a good match, so ended up forfeiting our prepaid stay and found a different spot.

Everyone here was very friendly. We didn't need an all-inclusive, or five star resorts, nor did we want one. We wanted a place that was clean, comfortable enough, and close enough to various activities, where we could sleep, put our stuff, and have a home base. We got that and much much more.

We arrived and the friendly staff immediately showed us to our roomes and served a welcome beverage. We were hungry because we'd been on the go all day, and the restaurant staff made us a pizza even though the kitchen was starting to shut down. Every morning for breakfast, and every evening for dinner our servers were delightful and the food was delicious.

The room was very comfortable and the hotel atmosphere was charming. It was also very easy to get to the beach.

If our travels take us back to Guanacaste in the future, we will certainly visit Conchal Hotel again.

We normally stay at big chain hotels but decided on a small cozy one this time around, and I am so glad we did. The property is so nice and has such vibrant colors. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfast is included and is so delicious. You get a few options and it is made to order. Watch the birds when you’re eating. They are super quick. If you’re staying in this area, I highly recommend you stay here.

I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this boutique hotel your in our own tropical oasis the rooms are clean just make sure you have robes and blow dryers in room and that your safe works .. food was delicious service with a smile they also help with transportation tours and book a massage. She was amazing. Walking distance to the beach must do a horseback riding and watch the sunsets gorgeous

Conchal Hotel was a great last stop for our Costa Rican vacation. The staff was super kind and helpful regarding where to go for the beach or other attractions. (We recommend walking to the beach in front of the Westin!) The grounds are beautiful with the pool in the center which was great to come back to after a day at the beach. Our only disappointment with our room. With concrete floors and little to no other furniture besides the bed, it was much more bare bones than the online photos show. An additional chair and table would have been nice for more seating and storage. The restaurant on the property had a delicious breakfast spread and was convenient for other meals. Everyone must have the guacamole and homemade chips! Just a heads up, it was quite expensive. Overall, we had a nice stay and enjoyed our time here.

It wasn't that we didn't like this place, i's just it didn't have much to it. The pool is very small and would be busy with more than 2 people in it. The service and the breakfast itself were the lowest rated out of the 4 hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel at all. The cleaning service was fantastic. The location is good, but you do have to walk along a busy roadside for a few meters to get down into the town for the beach or restaurants. The rooms were comfy and the air con worked very well.

We did enjoy the wildlife, there were Iguanas everywhere (big ones!) and we spotted a monkey one evening. Would also recommend the souvenir shop opposite the hotel.

We found walking to the beach/ restaurants was tricky. There are many tripping hazards and no sidewalks for part of it. We were also surprised to see bags of garbage on the streets. They were sitting for days.

This property fulfilled my two most important criteria-very comfortable bed and good climate control and air conditioning. It is located on a busy strip of roadway, but walking distance to the beach, so if you don't need a fancy setting, the price is right for a solid place to stay, and the staff are wonderful and accomodating-did not try the food at the restaurant (only there one nght)

This hotel is a ten-minute walk to the beach. It has an attached restaurant and we heard live music while we were there!
The rooms are spacious and clean. The front desk is super helpful and the breakfast was delicious!
