I cannot say better things about this hotel and the service!! First of all, the hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are beautiful! Very “San Miguel de Allende”.

Secondly, the staff was beyond amazing! We were there during the time the cartel leader was killed in Jalisco so people and tourist around the Mexico were a little on edge. The staff made sure to keep us informed of any news that came up and got in touch with drivers who had driven to Leon to confirm the roads were safe for us to drive to the airport. Really appreciated all the support and everyone was super nice!

Beautiful property, very convenient central location to explore SMA, and very kind, helpful staff. I visited in Jan/Feb 2026 and the weather was too cold to try the pool in the courtyard but it looked very nice and relaxing. Stayed in a junior suite with 2 double beds, which was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. I would skip the free breakfast (not much offered) and try some of the many cafes and restaurants closeby with much more worthwhile options.

The hotel is charming, and the staff is attentive and responsive! Victor made us feel so welcome - I feel as though I now have a friend in San Miguel! Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable - crisp sheets, a warm coverlet, and lots of pillows! Breakfast includes coffee, rolls, fruit and eggs and is served in the hotel's beautiful inner courtyard. The tiled jacuzzi adjoining the pool was heated for each afternoon and felt wonderful after a long day of walking. There is lots of comfortable seating provided outside for reading or sunning. The hotel's location is in the central zone, and very convenient for sight-seeing.

In general the hotel was beautiful especially the exterior part of the building. The interior needs little work done.
1. The closet doors, although beautiful at the first sight, did not slide well so when opening they opened with a bang creating a loud noise. I could hear the bang of the door from the neighbor unit and I discovered that my unit had the same problem.
2. Another issue that I had was that the floor mat in the bathroom was not changed and cleaned. When I asked the housekeeping to change it, it was changed by exchanging the mats from the other unit and the dirty one left at the other room. I know this because my room was changed due to lighting issue, as in no electricity. No fault of theirs. I saw the dirty mat in there.
3. I also saw holes where a light fixture had been and replaced by others but the holes not fixed. That also goes for the holes on the floor where the closet doors were repaired.
4. One day a shower faucet came off and fell onto the floor but I put it back hoping that it will hold. I should have notified it to someone but I figured that they already knew.
5. Although the negatives were obvious, all the good wonderful things outweighed the negatives. I must really thank the front office crew of their wonderful service they provided. One of them even took me out shopping for shoes in neighborhood’s shoe stores. A couple of times I wanted a certain food and they took me to the wonderful restaurants. You really don’t find that kind of service

Fantastic Stay at Hotel Concepción – Warm Hospitality & Great Location

Hotel Concepción was the perfect home base during my visit—centrally located just a few blocks from the markets, the main square, and a charming bakery just two blocks away. What truly set this hotel apart was the outstanding service. The staff arranged everything I needed, including airport transportation, a memorable cooking class, a breathtaking hot air balloon ride, a guided historical walking tour, and even a six-hour excursion to nearby cities.

A special thank you to Geraldo, Danielle, Victor, and the entire team for making my stay so smooth and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. Highly recommended!

Lovely colonial hotel, great location

We stayed at Concepcion Hotel Boutique for a weekend as we were attending a wedding in San Miguel. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was big, with a love of light, however other friends that stayed there got really small and dark rooms (with a sliver of a window). Location is great, staff is super friendly and helpful, but the room you get might change your opinion and sway you into thinking you are not getting what you pay for. My biggest complaint is the door locks - every time you open or close it a voice tells you if its locked or not, making it very hard to come in and out if someone else is sleeping in the room. I would recommend they remove that feature

Wonderful experience!!

Absolutely loved my stay here! Customer service was over the top good. All the staff knew my name and provided me with additional experiences such as successive room upgrades because I was staying 8 nights. Was also provided with a welcome bottle of wine and another smaller bottle later in my staff. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to source gluten-free bread for me and delivered breakfast to my room (earlier than they opened) one day because I had video conference calls all morning. The pool and hot tub were stunning as were the various sitting areas around the hotel. It certainly felt ‘boutique’. It was perfectly situated and close to restaurants and all the key areas. Very, very clean and well maintained. Extremely comfortable rooms. I hope to be back!!

Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the water pressure great… Three of the most important qualities of a hotel room! Very expensive for what was offered. Very nice hotel but no bar/restsurant/lounge. No gym. Breakfast was very limited but ok. The second night (Saturday night) fireworks that sounded like shots fired were going on at 4am for at least an hour. It was a celebration but we were never warned and it scared the hell out of us! That’s the least they could have done was to warm us.

My wife found Concepcion Hotel in a recent article in Travel & Leisure. After much thought and research we decided to give the hotel a try. This was our second trip to San Miguel in less than a year. The hotel is very conveniently located about a block and a half from the center of town. This is a small boutique hotel that opened about two years ago with approximately 15 rooms. The hotel architecture is beautifully designed with a traditional San Miguel, Mexican style and feel. The hotel has two open atriums, lots of seating areas throughout, with gorgeous landscaping, a beautiful heated pool and spa and roof top area with beautiful views of the surrounding churches and city. Our room was spacious, well appointed, comfortable king size bed, nice bedding, L'Occitane products, we had a split A/C unit, a small well stocked refrigerator and safe inside the closet. Our stay included a daily breakfast that is served in the small dining/bar area next to the pool. Most notably we enjoyed the entire staff who did everything they could from the moment we walked into the hotel until we left to make our stay memorable. Gerardo, who from our perspective acted as the manager, concierge, reservationist who is a one stop point of contact. Gerardo not only interacted with us prior to our arrival and helped coordinate restaurant reservations, tastings at wineries and car service but checked in on us each day throughout our stay to ensure we were comfortable and in want of nothing. Beautiful hotel located near the center of SMA. The hotel grounds were artistic and colorful and maintained in immaculate condition. Our room was large and well appointed, and housekeeping let everything clean and well stocked. The pool provided a wonderful break after a day of site seeing. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit and made to order eggs and veggies. A little expensive, but well worth it.

Good location in the middle of the city and nearby attractions. Breakfast was quite limited. There is no iron or ironing board, you’ll need to ask for one and they provide a steam iron. Some staff seemed a bit condescending upon arrival. Bellboy provided EXCELLENT service. Room does not have AC unit and air is provided exclusively by a floor ventilator which is quite inefficient in filling up the room. Can’t imagine how hot the room gets in the summertime

We had a wonderful experience visiting San Miguel de Allende, and staying at Concepcion Boutique Hotel, which is a quiet and charm boutique hotel with great location and easy walking access to all points of interest in the city.
The whole service and staff (Breakfast, Reception, and management) were fantastic, and friendly, contributing to a great weekend experience.

The property is gorgeous! The picturesque hotel setting is off the chart. The property is absolutely beautiful! The colors, the décor, the attention to the room details - wow! To add to this, the staff were beyond pleasant. From check in to check out the staff were very attentive. The morning breakfast is worth it - simple and served with a big smile! The actual location is literally across the street from the city center which is an area unlike no other with the mariachi's everywhere, the cathedral like church, the eateries and the shopping. No need for a car! We did not have any negative experience while staying at this hotel and we would totally stay here again and we would highly recommend this hotel (gem) to anyone contemplating a visit to San Miguel de Allende.

From the moment we walked into the hotel we were greeted with friendly, helpful staff. Daniella and Samuel welcomed us to the hotel and quickly checked us in as we had been traveling all day and were ready to relax.

Samuel took our bags to our room and explained how the lights worked, the door key worked, when breakfast was, and where it was. Answered all our questions and wished us a good night.

Breakfast started with a fruit plate; mangos, berries, cantaloupe, pineapple, freshness, and sweet as you can only find when the fruit is ripened on the vine. Next, bacon, eggs, and tortillas with salsa and queso on top. Delicious.

Pool is nice size with hot tub. Simply call the front desk and they will bring out fresh towels. Can order drinks poolside too.

Housekeeping tidies the room and refreshes each morning. You simply don't see them, but the room is pitch perfect when you return.

The hotel is spotless and well-appointed. Archways and atria make you feel like you are in a magical space. Colorful walls reflect the glory of Mexican culture.

The rooftop vista of the churches, which are only a stone's throw away, blew me away when they are lit at night. Hotel staff Victor told me there are 5 churches in our 2-block area, 7 or 9 in SMA Centro. Amazing.

Geraldo is efficient and effective in telling you what is available in the area. He arranged our transportation back to Queretaro Airport. He ordered us a boxed lunchs for the trip home. HUGE! Thank you!
