The hotel is right across the ferry terminal, so no need to stand in a long line for a cab. You can walk to all the restaurants and the beach. The hotel is older but it is clean and the staff are really great. We would definitely stay here again!

My stay here was absolutely perfect, on budget & close to everything - across from the Ferry. The manager & staff go above and beyond to be friendly, helpful & make your stay enjoyable. I didnt want to leave and I'll definitely be back again! The island quiets dwn by 11pm or so. Being close to everything was so beneficial and I had access to everything I needed. Clean and well cared for. Groceries nearby & recommendations for dining available if needed.

Thanks for all the pillows!

Very loud location as is directly across the street from the ferry but that didn’t really bother us. Slept surprisingly well probably due to the generous dose of pillows provided. Major perk for me. Everything was basic but clean. Perfectly sufficient.

Right across from the ferry docks. The staff at the hotel are Amazing. The hotel is dated.

Great Location Across from the Ferry

We had a 2nd floor unit #103 and had a wonderful veranda--could watch the ferry and a bit of ocean view--great breeze. Very convenient for an early morning ferry hop to Puerto Juarez. Also got a 10% discount on a golf cart!

We were in room 104 which was "ocean view". True, we could see water but mostly the entrance to the ferry. That being said, because we were on the same floor as the breakfast room wifi worked in our room and we could just step outside to one of the tables when we wanted. Good location across street from ferry terminal. We were worried that it would be noisy but street traffic stopped by 10pm. Rooms on the side street near the corner bar were actually more noisy.

Hotel is in a great position and overall we liked it, reasonable price. Breakfast food was good but service was erratic, it could have been excellent with a bit more organisation but it was very hit and miss. The cleaners were excellent and worked very hard.

The hotel owners were very helpful, spoke fairly good english too. The 3rd floor balcony and roof top had great views. The blankets on the bed were nice, and beds and clean linen every day.We felt safe and secure and welcomed.

We stayed on the fourth floor and had a great view from the shared balcony. It took a really long time for the water to get hot in the shower so mostly took luke warm or cold showers, which I don't mind in a warm climate. The staff was friendly and the coffee on the first floor in the shared eating space was good. It was also fun to get to know other travelers in that area. All in all I think it's a good value for the price.

the hotel is across the street from the ferry terminal & close to beach, shops & restaurants. Frank runs the place & you couldn't meet a nicer guy. There is a covered patio area with tables, coffee pot, microwave & fridge for your use. Highly recommend it.

Great budget lodging: Clean, safe, no frills

This hotel can be no closer to the ferry station than it is. Absolutely perfect.

Our room was on the 4th floor. No elevator, so be prepared for the thigh burn. The advantage of being on a higher floor was to catch the wind, which was pleasant. There is an awesome sitting area overlooking the ferry dock/ ocean.

Room was very clean and simply furnished. Air conditioning worked so well we had to turn it down several times. The one window opens, but there is no screen and the room could be easily accessed by the outside, making the air conditioning essential to comfort and security.

Wifi is weak or non-existant except on the first floor. Sit in the office by the front desk for best service.

There is a money exchange kiosk on site with no added fees and golf carts can be rented there, too.

No refrigerator or ice machine, but they do have a Styrofoam cooler available in each room.

Soap and shampoo is provided.

We paid $41.00 U.S. plus tax/ Expedia fees for two queen bedsbeds (total $104) which was worth the price, especially for the proximity to the ferry, Centro, Playa Norte and for being clean and safe.

We had room 404 overlooking the ferry terminal. Nice view towards cancun. The only complaint I had was the door to the room The lock was just a residential lock no deadbolt and the jamb looked like someone forced ther way or tried to in so a simple 25$ deadbolt installed would remedy the problem. No internet in room but good signal in lobby. Very handy location to all the spots in town. It rained two of for days we spent there but we made the best of it. The ice bar was fun and the Joint was a good place to spend a rainy afternoon. Great flavored mojitos

Simple, clean, no frills

If you are feeling fancy, don't stay here. If you are like me and all you need while traveling is a clean and comfy bed, hot water, in a safe and central location, stay here! I mean, I can do fancy, but did you really fly all the way to Mexico, took the ferry to Isla Mujeres to stay inside the hotel? I've enjoyed staying here very much. The location is great and wifi was pretty reliable in the lobby area. Definitely book the ocean view rooms. It's worth it.

Don't expect much from the hotel but the island is awesome!!! Best beach ever!

Hotel D Gomar is a welcoming hotel with kind staff. Rooms might be a bit old but everything works great: good A/C, large selection of cable channels, consistent wifi, and a spacious bathroom. The large terrace overlooking the ferry dock offers free coffee and drinking water as well as plates, cups, cuttlery and a microwave. Beach towels are provided at the reception and there is an extensive library to exchange books. We will certainly stay here again!

very basic "hotel" in great location

the location of the hotel is literally directly across the road from the ferry terminal - so the location is perfect but the service was beyond terrible!

the staff were not helpful in anyway, there was no rapport built, barely got eye contact, when asking what to do on the island i wasn't given any answers or help, instead the receptionist just sat on facebook. it makes a huge difference when customer service isn't good...

the room was clean but very basic and outdated. the sink was blocked, the toilet was weak, the light fittings were falling out of the wall and part of the bed frames were breaking and it wasnt aesthetically pleasing.

Way to go D Gomar!

Frank, the hotel manager was wonderful. The hotel had a lot of repeat customers and all knew Frank. Frank changed our room for us in order to give us a refrigerator since we were there 14 nights. He handled our excursions professionally and courteously. The maid staff was excellent and always kept our room nice and clean. I would stay there again without question!

Cheap rooms do not have TV, telephone or fridge. More expensive rooms do and there is TV, coffee and tea and a microwave in common areas.

Hotel d' Gomar is a nice, clean place to lay your head if you are traveling on a budget. Okay, it is noisy near the street and the internet connection is spotty, but it is clean, comfortable and the staff are lovely. On Isla Mujeres, if you want high-speed internet and quiet you'll have to pay three times as much as this.

Pense que iba a ser riudosa la habitación por encontrarse frente al ferry, pero no fue asi. Deben de poner cortinas oscuras. El hotel es muy céntrico, limpio y muy agradable. El personal es muy amable y atento. Los cuartos tienen refrigerador y aire acondicionado y funcionan a la perfección. Hice un viaje de buceo, me quedé 10 noches y no tuve problema alguno. Estoy ya de vuelta en la CDMX y quedé muy contento. Recomiendo totalmente quedarse en el hotel.

Bodde her i 3 dager. Er du glad i stå opp kl 0630 når første båt går er dette perfekt for båtene tuter hele tiden frem til kl 2300, det er ikke lystette gardiner, sengene er av eldre type, ikke viss i å betale for egen balkong for den bruker også de andre på hotellet, mye støy. Det var flere ganger jeg skulle legge fra meg nøkkel men ingen i resepsjon. Eller når jeg skulle legge den fra meg ! Mørkt og trist på kvelden menge lyspærer som ikke virket. Ikke et hotell for barnefamilier.

SOGGIORNO IN MARZO

Abbiamo soggiornato in Marzo in una stanza al 3°piano gradevole, che ci ha fatto sentire a nostro agio, abbastanza pulita, con il condizionatore. Da lunedì al mercoledì di notte si dorme bene perchè è abbastanza silenzioso ma nel weed-end arrivano molti turisti del fine settimana e c'è più rumore....ma questo in tutta l'isola!
La zona è ottima se si vuole andare in 5 minuti a piedi nelle splendide spiagge ed acque al nord, più che ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo considerando che l'isola è turistica ed i prezzi degli hotel alti.
Il personale molto cordiale e disponibile.
La colazione ci ha stupito in positivo: frutta fresca, caffè, succo e pane caldo e marmellata, altre volte pancake caldi con il miele o frittate salate (tutto fatto sul momento).
Il mio ragazzo ed io ci siamo trovati bene e ci torneremmo!

Horrible hell hole and money stolen

The hotel most dirty and rotten that I have ever seen in my life. The bathroom is basically under construction and when we checked in we found sand from the beach as present of the previous guests and an empty bottle in the shower + a candy's paper (but with no candy in it unfortunately). We ran away after few nights and we changed place. Obviously they did not gave back our money even if the rate was not prepaid. Stolen money. The guys at the front desk play at the pc when you pose them a questions, they neither watch you on your face. Bored! They do not clean. Dirty hell hole hotel. Just do a favor to yourself and do not stay there!

Basic room with nice bathroom. The room had a refrigeator -very nice to store water and cold beer :-) Breakfast was very good compared to other hotels in Mexico with lots of fresh fruit. Close to the ferry terminal, but we did not hear any noise at all from the ferries.

Praktische Lage, super Preis, gepflegte Unterkunft

Das Hotel liegt gegenüber dem Fährterminal und kann auch mit schwerem Gepäck zu Fuß erreicht werden. Sauberkeit und Ausstattung weit über Landesniveau, schöne Zimmer mit Klimaanlage und Ventilator. Wifi funktioniert im Aufenthaltsraum tadellos. Playa Norte in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

Отличный выбор за небольшие деньги

Останавливались на 5 ночей . Выбор был случайный , так как под Новый год ценник везде высокий. Расположение отличное . Вид с балкона ( общего ) на море . Закаты и рассветы встречать можно . В номере две большие кровати . Уборка каждый день , смена полотенцев Ежедневно . Постель за 5 дней не поменяли не разу . Wi-Fi Только на лобби и на первом этаже . Рекомендую , за эти деньги - отличный выбор .
