We arrived Friday night. Saturday morning breakfast buffet was very simple, not even as good as a Holiday Inn Express and was 21.95 per person. There was a big dance conference at the hotel this weekend so even though it is off-season the hotel was very full. The bar that evening had no wait staff, just a bartender and a bar back. The bar was packed. On Sunday housekeeping didn’t clean our room. After 2 inquiries with the front desk we ended up coming down to get toilet paper. The entire experience was terrible. They know the hotel is full so how can they not staff appropriately.

Nice big room since we needed a pullout couch also. LOVED the 2nd sink. That was such an amazing feature. So often when we travel we wish the sink was at least outside the bathroom, but to have two was fantastic with multiple girls getting ready. Staff were all so friendly and so nice to have bellmen take load/unload luggage from car and into the room. We always love staying at the Chateau. Dance convention this time but we've enjoyed staying there just for fun also. The movie theatre is always a special treat. Love the west shop for salads and sandwiches for lunch, drinks, ice cream. Beautiful courtyard. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Pricing of the stay is not completely transparent per the Expedia listing. Check their official website for resort fees and parking rates, as parking was 80% more than expected during the stay. Other than that, the experience was great. The lobby was festive during the Christmas season, which was enjoyable. The staff was kind and completely accommodating. The room and amenities were as great as expected.

After being put in a back corner handicap-accessible room, we complained. (they said that's how we reserved it on Hotels.com. NOT) We ended up in a top-floor suite. Amazing! We have always loved this lobby as it has a full waterfall in the center of the hotel with the rooms all facing it! Plus, the Christmas decorations were beautiful!
However, we were highly disappointed that the library bar was closed. BOOHISS!

Everything was priced excessive. Was charged resort fees yet pool and hot tub was closed our entire stay. No other amenities were available. Spa fees were very high priced. Room /bed comfort was not as specked for price paid.
Front Desk attendant was condescending when we had an unexpected issue with our CC. We were not made to feel welcomed which ruined the experience of our first anniversary.

The resort was beautiful! We had dinner at the restaurant inside, and it was spectacular. Honestly very well priced what the room we stayed in and the amenities that were on site. Only reason I give it 4/5 stars is because the pool / hot tub was shut down for the entirety of our stay. Which is not in control of anyone, things happen, I understand that. I was just really looking forward to the hot tub. During the summer time, we will for sure be back!

And I didn’t like that they will not let you use the cart to get your luggage out unless they do it so you have to pay , and it’s $15 to park your car or $20 to ballet but you have to do one or the other within 90 minutes of being there. Other than that, it’s nice.

Everything is an extra charge I mean everything, they leave water bottles in your room for $7.00 a bottle, they charge $17 dollars a day to park, no continental breakfast but they do have a very expensive \"restaurant\" and coffee shop. nice place will not stay there again.

The team did the best that they could to help us out, but the room was 84 degrees and the air conditioner didn’t work. They tried to help and switch us rooms, but didn’t realize it didn’t have a pull out sofa bed and it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous stay. We ended up having to switch hotels. We appreciated the staff in trying to help but it was a rough night for us as a family.

I wasn't told about the free breakfast. Our room was dated and our A/C didn't work. Overall the Resort needs some TLC, our Shower knob was about to fall off & we had no wash cloths! Resort fee charge when we checked out!! We should have gotten a discount. Very disappointed ☹️

Facilities were beautiful! A.C. unit didn’t cool properly after arriving from shows late into the evening... front desk not available so we had to sleep with patio door open all night. No return call as message stated either. No body wash in room... went to desk to request some for the family and the help stated it would HAVE to be delivered by services... none ever came! Family almost emptied the shampoo due to using it as body wash! Silly to have to pay $15 to park when you just paid $300 a night for the room and another $30 for resort fees...( sleeping there and buying over-priced coffee and pastries for breakfast) Beautiful place but it was our Family's first and last stay.

Arrived Dec 16, 2025 with three suites booked through Hotels.com—and the front desk couldn’t find the reservation. After a 45-minute wait, an employee who said she normally works in accounting (and rarely covers the desk) stepped in because the general manager couldn’t be reached. She agreed to honor the Hotels.com rate of $183.63/night (which was shown as including taxes and resort fees).

Then it got worse: there was no valet/bell staff available, so they called a maintenance employee to help with luggage. When we finally got to the room, it was 64°F—freezing—and the next several hours felt like a “Frozen” sequel. The rooms are dated, the property feels understaffed, and the thermostat appeared preset/locked so we couldn’t comfortably adjust the temperature.

At checkout, they tried to increase the nightly rate by ~20% and add taxes/resort fees again. I disputed the charges and was told my card would not be charged and that someone would call me first. Instead, three days after we left, they charged the full disputed amount anyway.

I recently stayed at the Château on the Lake in Branson, and unfortunately, our experience was pretty disappointing. The rooms felt very outdated and in need of a refresh. On top of that, we had a pretty chaotic experience when the smoke alarm went off at midnight on the first night. We had to evacuate outside, and no one informed us when it was safe to go back in or gave us any clear instructions. It felt really unorganized and definitely not up to the standard we expected. Lastly we had to purchase coffee from the Sweet Shop everyday because the coffee maker in my room was dirty.

The front desk person who checked us in to the hotel was excellent! We can’t say enough good things about him!

The Bellman staff was great too! I had valet parking and I forgot some things in the vehicle that I needed two different times after he parked it. He was very kind about it each time!

The room was dirty upon arrival. There was trash on the desk, rings from drink on the table and i could draw a line through the dust on the bedside tables and lamps.
The water pressure from the sink was a trickle. They also charge for parking. They take ownership but not responsibility of the parking lot. There is also only one entrance to the hotel. We had to park half a mile away in a dark parking lot and walk around to the front door. With all the options in Branson, stay somewhere else.

i wanted to stay in this hotel since they built it. I was finally able to go with a black friday coupon. I was so disappointed. First of all I have difficulty walking and they put me in a handicap room as far away from the elevators possible. also the room was freezing cold even when they got the boiler fixed. the staff was great. but the movie theater was an ice box. and the wrong movie. I reallu felt that staying in a Drury inn had more appeal and to spend this extra money ($28 hotel daily fees on top of reservation) Plus parking fees which they were nice enough to wave for me being handicaped. the pool was ok but the hot tub did not get hot jsut warm. all together i can only say i was highly disappointed in the hotel. but the staff was wonderful.

I had acid reflux one night around 10 and went down to try to find some milk. The sweet shop was closed as well as the restaurant. There was a man standing behind the podium and I asked him. Kitchen was closed but he said the bar could help me. The bartender didn’t have any but she called the other bartender who apparently had a key to the sweet shop and she came back with a bottle of milk for me. Really saved the night. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Great stay.

Bellman didn’t offer to help with luggage. We had two reservations and had previously spoke with manager and she said she would merge the two. Arrived and said manager had not and the lady that night at check in told us we had come back down next day and get new keys. Rooms smelled of body odor. Way understaffed and rooms weren’t all that clean. Day lady was really nice and took care of our problem and apologized for the night check in lady. Rooms need updating bad. We have always stayed her in the past but won’t be back !

It’s pretty bad when a guest of the Château can’t get a reservation for the main dining room on Thanksgiving night. Enough said next Christmas next Thanksgiving I’ll be paying the $1000 a room at the Cedar… The funny part. I was suggested to stay at the Château by a friend out of your corporate office. My suggestion is You look at your Dining Room reservations for Holidays. I understand I’m One room out of 300.

Check In was a pain, and was not a welcome experience after a 4 hour driving travel day. The staff did not seem to be familiar with operating with hotels.com and required a few back and forths using the hotels.com chat on the app, and mediation with hotels.com. In fact, the email that the hotel had on file with hotels.com was out of date as the person who received the booking information no longer worked for Chateau. If the Chateau's direct booking rates were lower than hotels.com, could probably have avoided this. In the end, the onsite manager did her best to honor the rate that hotels.com quoted and offered complimentary breakfast the next day. Unfortunately, we already had our entire trip planned which did not include dining at the hotel. Also, the way that the hotel manages parking was weird and seemed to be a bit chintzy. Why not just package it in vs having to pay separately with a QR code; it seemed like nickel and diming to me. Our room was great which made up for the shortcomings. We did our best to avoid the hotel staff, which was not that hard as there never seemed to be anyone present at the valet or even the front desk. Considering that checkout is at 11am, you would think that they would have more than one person working the front desk. In hindsight, it was a bit comedic.

The staff was incredibly kind. Check-in was a little inconvenient as my room wasn’t ready. After multiple attempts to check in the lady at the front desk assigned me another room. I was grateful and didn’t mind waiting however, we were there for a gymnastics meet and were hoping to settle in a room prior to my daughter’s performance. I understand it was incredibly busy and that being said every staff member I encountered was amazingly courteous and helpful.

The hotel was not well maintained or well-staffed. There was only 1 person at the front desk, 1 bellman, 1 bartender... No one was in the coffee shop several different times we stopped by. During our 4 days there, the maid came once. The sheets were stained, the bathtub didn't drain, and the tv did not work. There was no vent in the bathroom, turning it into a steam room every time someone took a shower. It was impossible to get dressed in there until it aired out, not to mention what the mold situation probably is. There is no information in the room about hotel amenities, dining, parking, etc. you have to look everything up via a QR code. It is a bare bones, you're on your own kind of hotel, no customer service at all.

We had 5 wasps in the room when we first arrived. The toilet would not flush a couple of time.
Could not get a call through to the hotel, either no one answered the phones or it went to Expedia instead whete no one alos answered the phones.

The room was very clean and prepared. The room's thermostat would not heat up the room with the temperature set and only cool air being blown through vent. This was reported to front desk who indicated this was a known problem and was being addressed. Upon further failure to get a temperature in room that was comfortable, additional efforts with speaking to front desk failed and we turned thermostat to off for remaining of stay. This was room 912.
Additionally, I reservrd 910 and that room only supplied cool water for bathing/showering.
Finally, the fairly new added parking fee is inflated and a dissatisfier plus the fact it's a hassle and goes through an independent collector.
All this is disappointing and factors in to an if or when return reservation and promotes hesitation with recommending staying there.
