The room is too small and has no closet. The room space is too narrow to move around or place luggage especially for two people.

Also, even though there are signs all over the hotel in the rooms and common areas regarding smoking, people still smoke marijuana in their rooms and by the pool. We reported this to the receptionist but still the entire floor where my wife and I were staying, smelled very very strongly of marijuana. Additionally, my daughter stayed in a separate room and one day she left her window open and when she went to her room, it smelled like marijuana because clearly the people in the room next door were smoking weed.

The mattress or sheets smelled like urine. Upon arrival there was no shampoo, facial tissue or soap and it wasn’t restocked during a three night stay. The towels and duvet cover were stained.

They are extremely adamant about checking the mini bar inventory days before your checkout even if you tell them it’s not necessary. They came back multiple times on the same day.

This was my third or fourth stay at this hotel and may be my last because it seems to have gotten worse.

In general the hotel is well located and comfortable but this stay wasn’t great.

Across all my stays breakfast is consistently average with no variety and average service. Oftentimes there are 5+ empty tables and they’re all dirty.

GHL Monteria is a wonderful example of a well run 21st century hotel - efficient and friendly staff, excellent food - both dinner and the breakfast buffet were superb and well designed room with great shower.

The room I fist got the a/c did not work and the shower head had black mold and the shower walls had some black mold where the grout lines are I feel the shower could have been cleaned better and the pillows had a few large yellow spots on at least one pillow but you had to remove pillow out of pillow case to see the spots the hotel did change rooms for another cleaner and working a/c :)

This is a superior hotel for sure. This hotel goes the extra mile when it comes to service. When I first entered the hotel coming from the airport, I found refreshing cold water with different flavours waiting for me. The check in was delayed little bit as they were trying to find my reservation. The whole hotel is decorated to reflect the culture of Colombia … I was assigned a room on the “Diversidad” floor. When you enter the elevator, a very nice smell greets you. Every happy helper smiles and greets you. Buffet was diversified and tasty … as always my favorite part of the breakfast buffet is sliced fresh fruits for my fruit salad. I loved the color and shape of plates and coffee cups …continuation of this magical experience. The room was just awesome … comfy beds/pillows, mini bar (expensive like other hotels, I suggest not using it and buying your water, juice and snacks from Exito in the adjacent Mall), mini fridge, safe , coffee/tea making machine. My room had window overseeing the Mall … very cool. The hotel has a door that leads to the Alamedas Shopping Mall … the Mall has everything that you need: Gym, Cafe , Ice Cream, Food, Exito , money exchange , …. Special recognition for happy helper Omar as he was super kind and helpful to me… and he knew little English. Though, happy helper Angel is the only one who speaks English very well .

Four years ago it was in better condition, the room had a humid ceiling and the A/C made a lot of noise, on the top floor there are many events and parties with a lot of noise. We complain but they don't care about. I think they have a lack in hospitality.

Great location, easy access to the Alamedas Mall, convenient. Free breakfast was a plus (everything fresh). Very clean hotel and room, following Covid-19 guidelines. Only complaint was lobby and floor aisles had no cooling, specially in a city with a hot, hot weather. 6th floor had a few busy nights and that noise disturbed our sleep, since we were staying on the 5th floor. The rest of the stay was fine.

El hotel es bonito. Esta ubicado dentro un centro comercial, lo que te permite salir fácilmente, comprar algo o comer algo. Al hotel le hace falta un poco de mantenimiento en especial a los ascensores, no estan acordes al hotel.

El servicio no es bueno, a la hora de pedir una toalla en la piscina o pedir algo en los desayunos, la atención es muy lenta y en ocasiones nadie te da una respuesta o una atención.

La carta de bebidas del bar es muy limitada.
El room service muy bueno y rapido. El desayuno de la región es un éxito, el resto de desayunos son mas limitados.

We stayed in this hotel 3 years ago and came back because it is beautifully appointed with local Art which we enjoyed ohotographing last time. We were disappointed however that none of the art installations or decorations have been added to or updated in 3 years.

Expedia did not properly book a king bed room for us and we immediately had to change rooms after checking in.

The room we were given, 514, had constant Air Conditioning problems, often rising to 24 degrees C despite numerous requests to the front desk. Our stay was punctuated by daily conversations with the front desk about the AC in which we had to tell them over and over, no it’s not fixed. Comically, this lasted until check out when we could finally leave.

The restaurant staff on the top floor is very friendly and remembered us each day, however they could be counted on to take 30-40 minutes at least if you order ala carte.

There is no one on staff around the pool or bar area, no lifeguard, and no way to get a set of towels or a beverage at the pool area, unless you go inside the restaurant, often having to interrupt the one staff person there from waiting a table. This should not have been a problem, because each time we would pass through the lobby there were staff standing around there.

When we chose to use the pool, the hotel was hosting a group event and the area became swarmed by people not staying at the hotel, taking pictures of us, being loud and sitting near our stuff.

The Hotel was a great stay. Located inside a mall was a huge convenience. The staff was friendly and super professional. The breakfast was delicious and it was included with your stay. You must visit the spa and enjoy a full day exploring the hotels amenities. Enjoy the rooftop pool and sit on the hammocks to read a book or simply relax. Unfortunately, there is not much to do in Monteria so staying at a hotel that gave you other options to enjoy your stay was very instrumental.

The hotel was okay but I had a few issues. One one person could speak English so that presented some challenges. My shower did not have hot water. I did tell the front desk and they had somebody come up and check it out quickly. They did turn on the hot water in the bathroom sink but not in the shower. There was a tissue box without tissue. I could not have a guest come up to my room after 10:00 pm. This was very strange because I was not inviting strangers to my room. I did invite my best friend of 8 years up to have some wine one evening and the front desk clerk was very rude and would not allow it. The next day I reported the issue to the front desk and they said I could pay extra and he could go up. The room in general was okay but nothing fancy. Also they had live bands a couple nights that played loud music past midnight.
