Too expensive for what it is. Rude and unhelpful staff. They treated me like they were doing me a favor. The wifi is non existent. Location is great. The rooms DO NOT HAVE A/C or a fan. During the day the room is ridiculously hot.

Great location in the heart of Asmara, walkingdistanceto almosteverythingtou want to see in the city. Definitely try to get a room with a front balcony overlooking the Customs Building across the street and the Embassy of Türkiye to the right (I had room 201). Wi-Fi is available (but expect a very slow connection). Included breakfast is good, made to order omelet with strong coffee and fresh juice. Hot water in the shower and bathroom, small mini-fridge, comfortable bed, very friendly English-speaking reception, make for a good mid-range budget option. I booked and prepaid on Expedia, making it hassle free once in Asmara, and saving my cash for the restaurants and bars in Asmara. Reception can change USD at the normal government rate 15 nakfa to 1 USD. I actually walked to and from the airport, and it takes about one hour. Don't miss Ghibabo Restaurant nearby for 15 nakfa Asmara beer and traditional food like kitfo (tasty pizzas, too). Recommended hotel!

The best choice in Asmara. Great location in the center of town. Very good, friendly and attentive service. Very clean room and hence a very good stay. Given the financial and investment situation in Eritrea, it is unsurprising that the rooms are a little spartan but that is no criticism of the hotel. I would definitely return to the Crystal.

Clean & friendly. Arrived morning of 7th October with room confirmation from Expedia for 19 days. I was shocked to be told they did not know of this booking and that they had a room for only two days!! I was very disappointed about this state of affairs. Sadly wi fi was not working and could not tell Expedia of my status. On the second day of my stay I was told I could stay for the booked 19 days and they apologised for the imperfect info I was given day before!! So the first two days were hair raising not knowing what I could do about it.

Very happy with 2 week stay at crystal hotel. Service provided was excellent and the staff especially receptionists, waitresses and housekeepers were exceptionally friendly, approachable and always greeted us kindly. Hotel is in the perfect location, very close to Asmara city center. My family really enjoyed their stay at Crystal hotel this summer, July 2019

There are no credit cards accepted anywhere in Eritrea. Hotel either takes US dollars, Euros or local currency. There is no elevator at this hotel. The restaurant is excellent with cheap prices. Shuttle service is excellent but is not cheap.

I travelled to Asmara Dec/19/2018 with my two brothers and we staid in crystal hotel for two weeks and I cannot express my happiness enough about the hotel from the bell man Mr habte all the receptions helen, tsega to the owner Mr Daniel every one of them where pleasant and very nice people. the only thing I would like to mention is water was very slow in the bathroom I was having hard time taking a shower especially at night. I would recommend this hotel to everybody who is travelling to Asmara. Hope to see everybody again soon.

Room 206 was pretty comfortable. We stayed the last night of our trip there, and compared to room 205, it was much larger. Both the sleeping area and the bathroom were significantly better. The bathroom appeared twice as large than 205. What we couldn't figure out is how we ended up paying the same rate for both rooms. Staff was very friendly but not as organized. At the front desk, it took them a while to verify our room reservation, although we had stayed two nights when we first entered the country, and another three nights half-way through our trip. We confirmed our last reservation with one staff member at the front desk (October 4th), and when we arrived (October 14th) another staff member couldn't seem to find our reservation. It took some searching, and asking around but she finally found it.

Hotel staff are very friendly. The room was smaller than it appeared in online photos, and the bathroom shower pressure was unreliable. On certain days the pressure was strong, and other days there was hardly any water getting through. I'm not sure if it was the room we were in (205), or just the time of day we showered. The hotel has no elevator, and a windy staircase. Not the best if you have many or heavy bags.

Room was unclean on arrival day. Surface area of side tables and desk area were dusty. It seemed to be a room that had been unoccupied for a while. We paid for a room with a view, but all we could see are other buildings lined up against the hotel. Water pressure in the shower was unreliable, and the bathroom was very small in room 205. The shower area was cramped, and felt a bit claustrophobic, with the water heater right above the back of my head. The window in the bathroom is right next to shower, so cold air would seep in, even with the window closed. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, though.

there isn’t a lot of choice in Asmara

It’s cool in Asmara and the shower was challenging to get it warm . They turn off the water pump during certain hours . All the noise echoes up the stairwell . If you are not on the street side you will hear the people in the restaurant until it closes . It’s clean . There are no coffee / tea making facilities as stated . Water is not complimentary and over priced .

They don’t tell you that they turn the water off after 10am , and then not on again until 7-9pm . These are the only times to shower . It’s not very warn ( the heater tank isn’t left on between guests ) and Asmara is coolish . I had a shower that the curtain was too short snd the water sprays all over . There isn’t s lot of hotels in Asmara for around this price so there isn’t a huge choice . Overall it was ok . Overpriced

good location

i arrived at 4am ( when most flights arrive ) staff were hard to wake up to get in the door. they are not very efficient . the details in info about the hotel are not accurate. there are no tea making facilities . bottled water is provided but not complimentary and over priced. breakfast is only available 7- 9 am . terrible wifi - i wasn’t able to open an email during my stay

Modern hotel in heritage precinct

I enjoyed my stay at Crystal Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful (and spoke English) Airport transfers were offered for a reasonable 400nafka each way. A City map was available for 50nafka. My room was clean and comfortable and most importantly had reliable hot water. My room rate had breakfast and wifi included; the breakfast was excellent but the wifi was slow (I did eventually manage to check emails and do online check in for my flight)

L'hotel è vicinissimo al centro.
La stanza è semplice, ma necessiterebbe di molta manutenzione.
Non c'è acqua, occorre telefonare ogni volta in reception, per far pompare l'acqua, diversamente non è disponibile.
Le ragazze in recpetion, salvo la signora che parla italiano, non sono cosi cortesi.
Il wifi non funziona.
Noi eravamo al 3' piano.
Se volete fare una chiamata dall'hotel fate attenzione che è un furto..

Ich kann die teilweise sehr guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen.
Die Lage des Hotels ist gut, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen.
Den zunächst gebuchten Standard-Room habe ich schnell wieder verlassen. Ich bin dann in einen Superior-Room umgezogen, $ 35,00 Aufpreis/ Nacht.
Außer einer nichtschäumenden Seife werden keine Pflegeprodukte bereitgestellt.
Aus der Dusche kam nachmittags nur kaltes tröpfelndes Wasser, morgens war es etwas besser. Das Bad ist vergammelt.
Am zweiten Tag gab es keine Zimmerreinigung.
Die angegebene Klimaanlage und den Deckenventilator gab es nicht. Gleiches gilt für den Zimmersafe.

Vom Hotel sind kaum Informationen auf etwaige Fragen bezüglich Asmara und Ausflüge zu erwarten.
Das Hotel stellt eigenes UV- und Ozonbehandeltes Trinkwasser her, mir hat es nicht geschmeckt.
Eine Verdunkelung des Zimmers ist mangels Vorhänge nicht möglich.
WLAN ist faktisch nicht vorhanden.
Das TV ist sehr ungünstig an der Wand angebracht, vom Bett aus ist es schwierig.
In jeder Nacht bellende Hunde.
Der Garten ist der Raucherbereich, neben dem Restaurant.
Die Dachterrasse war verschlossen.
Das Frühstück ist kaum genießbar.
Personal und Getränkepreise sind gut.

Der Flughafentransfer kostet keine $ 50,00, sonder etwa $ 28,00.

Ein ansonsten so schlechtes Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis hatte ich noch nicht.

detta boende hade inga manner och behande oss dåligt speciallt från ägaren var otrevligt och fick betala även då jag hade betalat frukost och visade bokingen så brydde sig inte alls. jag fick lämna deposed också för boendet för hon var osäker att betalningen var genom. jag fick åka tillbaka till boendet och hämta min deposet efter några dagar, kostade mig mer att åka dit från var jag stannade.

Hôtel correct et personnel sympathique

L'hôtel est pas mal globalement. La chambre est propre et plutôt pas mal, mais la salle de bain (ou plutôt de douche) est assez moyenne. Le restaurant est correct, sans rien d'exceptionnel néanmoins. Le personnel est vraiment adorable et honnête.
Les quelques tracas ne viennent pas forcément de l'hôtel, car ils sont communs à tout le pays : débit d'eau, Internet, et temps d'attente au restaurant.
En résumé, c'est un hôtel tout à fait correct pour Asmara.

Начну с хорошего. Из-за позднего прибытия автобуса пришлось ночевать в Teseney. Позвонил в Crystal Hotel Asmara и без проблем перенес дату прибытия в отель на сутки. За это отелю большое спасибо. Также достоин похвалы завтрак. Не обильный, но добротный.
Теперь о разочарованиях.
1. Не верьте распечатке бронирования hotels.com, в котором указано, что в отеле:
\"Food & Drink - Coffee/tea maker and free bottled water\"
No \"free bottled water\" at all!
Пришлось искать ближайший магазин, т.к. цена в отеле в три раза выше нормальной.
2. \"Comfort - Air conditioning and daily housekeeping\"
No A/C in the room. И никогда не было.
3. \"Internet - Free WiFi \".
Да. Wi-Fi - бесплатен. НО его просто нет. Никакого. Совсем нет соединения. Ни одна страница не открылась. Мне для того, чтобы перебронировать авиабилет, пришлось звонить по Whatsapp в Россию жене и просить ее оплатить штраф за изменение даты вылета в моем личном кабинете авиакомпании. Т.к. смс от мобильного оператора я тоже не мог получить. Сотовой связи тоже нет, как и интернета. Огромное счастье, что удалось воспользоваться хотя бы whatsapp.
И это все еще было не самое разочаровывающее. В первую ночь я выспался хорошо, видимо, совсем измотался после 10-часового переезда. Ночь перед вылетом из Асмэры, совсем глаз не сомкнул. Безобразие. Внизу работал допоздна ресторан, затем персонал все убирал, громко разговаривая и шумя. Очень досадно.
Плюс на ресепшен пытались взять пятерную цену за такси в аэропорт. Не рекомендую!

Hotel in a godano quiet position

Prima di arrivare ad Asmara non avevo idea della situazione degli hotel.La scelta del Christal hotel è stata casuale,ma si è rivelata buona.Le camere sono pulite anche se denotano vetustà.C'è sempre acqua calda ed è comunque importante il fatto che l'hotel sia dotato di generatore poiché talvolta la luce non c'è .L'hotel offre Wifi gratuito
