The room was clean, the only issue was that the floors (carpet) felt really grimy and almost damp but not in a “clean” way. The other room issue itself was that there were no extra linens for the pull out couch- which we needed and I had requested on my booking since I had 2 kids with me.

Our biggest issues were with the hotel itself:
We stayed on the second floor in room 210, we weren’t very close to the elevator but also not too far and we could hear the VERY loud dinging all night long.

Another major problem, we stayed on the same floor as the Mississippi valley marching band (they were in town for Mardi Gras Parades) and all night long they were popping their heads out from their doors along the whole hallway to yell back and forth to each other. I confirmed this because I stepped out to see what the yelling was several times. They also used the elevator at all hours to travel to different friends on different floors, contributing to the excessive loud dinging of the elevator.

The WORST part about the above, is that at 1-5am every night, the whole floor smelled of weed. I had 2 kids and an infant in my room and it was overtaking our room in a serious way. I had to roll towels and put them on the doorway to keep it from seeping in. We should not have paid to stay here and never will again. My 12 and 10y old asked me several times what that smell was… it was straight up weed. Unacceptable.

⭐ 1/5 — One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Avoid this place.This hotel is nothing like the photos and the grounds reeked of cigarette smoke, and the overall appearance felt rundown and neglected.The receptionist looked completely unprofessional and acted like basic customer service was an inconvenience. There was no parking available for me, and when I explained that I needed to cancel because of this, I was met with zero empathy. She told me to park at a Holiday Inn or even a Walmart down the street—an absolutely ridiculous and unsafe suggestion. When I told her this was unreasonable, she then said she would mark me as a no-show and charge me anyway. I was shocked—I was standing right there, explaining my dilemma, and her response was essentially: either park off-site or be charged as a no-show. Once I realized the conversation was going nowhere, I asked if I could video the interaction and was granted permission. I will attempt to upload it as evidence of the poor customer service. Between the misleading photos, the unpleasant environment, and the shocking lack of professionalism, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Easily one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences I’ve had while traveling.

Honestly, the staff are nice. For the price I paid, I stayed at hotels in Bangkok for example the Hilton Millennium has better facilities, great buffet breakfast with great choices and great guest experiences. Even 3 star hotels for example over there were far better. No toothbrush available at this hotel which is a basic supply in hotels I stayed in Bangkok. Each room should have toothbrushes and toothpaste. Enough said . A massive rip off

Candle wood moved us next door to the Holiday Inn so we could have a ground floor room, and everything was wonderful! The room was new, super clean, and everyone at Candlewood and the Holiday Inn were so nice!

Nice hotel, the internet is horribly slow however. If you need to move around large files for work it is damn near impossible.

Had booked for 3 nights but needed to check out after just 1. Simply impossible to do my work with such terrible internet service.

The property was clean, rooms were quiet and the outside pet area had a covered patio which we really enjoyed. I was disappointed that there was not even a limited breakfast supplied. I shouldn't complain about breakfast, it was not listed there.

The rooms are huge and comfortable. I only stayed one night but with a full size fridge, mini-range, microwave, etc. it would've been good for any length of stay. There's also a pretty good restaurant right in the parking lot, super convenient. There aren't a lot of choices, but if you need to stay in the area, this is a good one.
