Location is excellent, only a couple min walk from restaurants and shopping. Rooms were large and very clean. Hotel itself was very well kept and spotless. The food was good and the included breakfast was well done. The staff we interacted with were a pleasure to deal with and helpful, with one exception and we only saw that staff member late our first night.
I had to take away two stars though, I wish I could make it 1.5 but that’s not an option.
first the mattress in all our rooms were reported as very uncomfortable and hard. The bar seemed to be in training mode, it took a while to get a drink. The restaurant is reservation only for dinner. We tried to get a table after a very long day of tours but they said they couldn’t seat us. The restaurant was empty with the exception of one table. We were visiting during the Tet holiday so I’m sure that played a roll in our experience.
Over all I do recommend a stay. It’s a great area and the hotel and service is a great value.

Exceptional hotel, perfect location. Our room was beautiful and the view from my window was spectacular. It sits at the beginning of the road, full of restaurants and bars and many things to see and do. Annie The receptionist was most welcoming and accommodating. She is always running around making sure everybody is happy.

The room was spacious and clean. The garden had nice paper lanterns which created lovely views to the entrance. However, the bed was too hard and uncomfortable. The pressure of the water in the bathroom was weak. The furniture was outdated and the carpet too. The hotel was gloomy and sad. I didn't like the energy of it at all. However, I have to say that Annie at the reception was great. She wentbout of her way to resolve an inconvenience created by a tour company that was supposed to provide us with a private tour. Annie handled the situation very professionally and made sure we were well and ok after that trip. Thank you very much, Annie

Beautiful hotel with a nice view and pool. The couples massage we had at the spa was excellent! Highly recommend getting one, they have magic hands. Reception is quick to respond to any of your needs. Breakfast is ok, omelets were good but coffee could be better. They had many other options, just none of them suited us.

A charming hotel in the rural area of Ninh Binh, walking Distance to Tam Cốc and market and restaurants. There’s a restaurant in site with a variety of food. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

This hotel is one of the best hotels that you can find in this area. The staff members were so friendly and helpful. It is located near the main road and you can find restaurants, bars and businesses within a walking distance. I recommend this hotel to anyone, you won’t be disappointed.

Good, but not a 5 star
The staff is very accommodating and responsive, but their English was a bit weak. I booked the family suite which was just two connecting rooms. Unfortunately they put the two single beds for the kids in the nicer of the two rooms, which was wrong, so the kids had a bath tub and a shower, plus nicer robes, bigger room, etc., while the parents had the smaller room with a queen bed, small bathroom, junky robes, etc. But the two big negatives were: (1) the shower in the smaller adult room leaked all over the place, so we all used the shower in the kids room, but that shower was clogged, so it filled up with water and you had to wait for it to go down before you could continue your shower. I called the front desk about this, they promptly sent up a worker who did some something and then gave me a thumbs up, but the shower drain was exactly the same -- bad and it never got fixed during our entire stay. (2) the AC does not blow cold but rather blows cool. We were there in the hot season and the room never got as cold as other hotels we stayed at, but this is not a 5 star hotel. Breakfast buffet was okay, not very tasty, but lots of options. Pool is a must in Ninh Binh. Chookies is okay, but I highly recommend Happy Wind restaurant which is to the left of the hotel, not to the right towards town.

I got a room on the 9th floor with a beautiful and spacious balcony overlooking the karst mountains (and some factory site, but unfortunately that's how it is in Vietnam - they are working of removing old polluting industry from this pristine environment). The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke enough of English to get by. The room is of a boutique type and although a bit aged, it is beautiful. The hotel gave me two free dinners for my three night stay and they even printed a menu for me, featuring my name and the menu items. Now nice and attentive! The hotel is close to the famous Trang An world heritage site, as well as Hoa Lu, the ancient Vietnamese capita, and other site. The Hotel gave me a bicycle so I drove to Trang An, took a boat tour, and return back to the hotel. A reallky nice and pleasant stay. Thank you Ninh Binh Hidden Charm Hotel & Resort!

Our stay at the Hidden Charm was amazing. The service was impeccable, they had great tour packages that included a private tour guide and transportation services which made the experience highly enjoyable and worry free. The property has plenty of amenities, we came at a colder and rainier time but could see how this would be an even more amazing stay with warmer and sunnier weather. It’s walking distance to restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for the Ninh Binh, White Lotus experience!

The service staffs from the front desk and housekeeping are excellent. Always polite and ready to help even before you ask. The room itself is spacious, clean and fairly modern. The bathroom large and bright. My room was facing the pool, rice fields and mountain so amazing view when you wake. The room could use better lighting though. The light placement isnt great. Its ok at daytime but not great at night. The fridge at the room barely gets cold even after 24hrs. You cant adjust the settings because there is no settings to adjust. Anyone fancy drinking semi warm beer? Not me. I booked this hotel mainly for the gym which looked great in the pictures but rather dissapointing in person. It looks like they do not take care or maintain the equipment. A little lubricant and cleaning would go a long way. Some machines are broken down. But the worse thing is the floor. Its uneven in many places so everything is lopsided haha. You will know what i mean once you see it.

The hotel and the street that it’s on is very quiet at night.It has a cute outside courtyard adorned with lanterns and string lights and a cute boutique but that’s where the charm ends. Upon check in, they gave me a lower category room than what I booked. I had to show them pictures from their website of the different rooms. At first they argued that their website is wrong and needs to be updated. Really? After my insistence, they did put me in the right room. Unfortunately, the rooms on the top floor are hot. They had to put in a portable fan. I had to turn on the AC, ceiling fan and portable fan to keep the room cool. Water pressure is low so toilets can’t flush well. Note that they don’t put tissues in the rooms but they use tissues exclusively in the breakfast area as napkins. Breakfast buffet is average and needs more variety. This is the only hotel I’ve been to where a cappuccino is not included in the breakfast buffet and you have to pay extra.

We booked and prepaid this hotel on Trivago. It had over 4 stars, however when we arrived by motorbike having travelled for 9 hrs on very difficult roads, we were met with the front porter shooing us away like dogs as we drove up, not to park and empty our gear anywhere near the entrance. So we ended up parking outside the hotel fence, and had to lug our gear and walk 75m to the hotel. We arrive inside the lobby, not even a proper greeting, just “can we have your passports.” I refused because it would mean taking apart one of my bags in the lobby that was muddy and dirty from the ride. Only after explaining to them the reasons for my refusal, they agreed for later. They then wanted to help me with my gear, really after you made me carry it from outside.
The next morning I asked to get some tea, they didn’t want me anywhere near their breakfast buffet, I couldn’t even wait quietly for my friends without being told to go stand or sit in a corner.

The resort is closed to Tam Coc, Mua Cave attraction, and 25 mins ride to Trang An. My room has a very nice view of mountain, and great amenities. There is not too many option for food around the resort area. If you are adventurous enough, you can use Grab to go to Ninh Binh downtown at night time and try out the local food. The ride ranges from 65-81K VND each way.

I spent three weeks in Vietnam with my family and Ninh Binh Hidden Charm hotel was our favorite hotel. The staff was genuine and incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was the nicest room I've ever stayed in. Everything was decorated beautifully, spacious, and the view over Tam Coc stunning. The woman I met at the spa was also lovely. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the adjoining restaurant had delicious food for a fair price. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone planning a trip to this area.

Maintenance of cycles needs to be attended to though as they were pretty shoddy for a hotel of this standard. The restaurant and room service food was fine, although it didn't meet the standards set by the staff and the room. That said, we enjoyed the breakfast options both mornings.
We were asked about our dinner as we left the restaurant and we mentioned that the food was not fully hot. We were pleasantly surprised by the arrival of two cups of delicious tea at our room shortly thereafter, we really appreciated this gesture.
The laundry service is more expensive than getting it done outside but our clothes came back quickly and smelled nice.

This hotel was absolute highlight in terms of lodging of our entire trip! The hotel was so clean and comfortable. Typically we stay in Hilton and Marriott brands so if you are familiar with them this would be the equivalent of any of the 4+ star hotels in the United States. During our trip my wife got food poisoning. We are in a different country, don't speak the language well, have no idea about the level of medical care or where to get it for that matter. The hotel called a doctor that made a room call, and brought prescriptions, and arranged the entire thing with a translator. The doctor gave my wife the medication she needed. I asked where an ATM was so that I could go get money to pay the doctor because there was no chance that they took insurance. The hotel staff caught up with me in the lobby and told me that they were picking up the cost of the doctor and the prescription. All they were concerned with was that my wife got better. As if that wasn't amazing enough, they made special tea and special meals and delivered them to the room for her for our whole stay.
In terms of service there were 3 staff members that were literally available 24 hours a day for anything we needed. They made us feel like we were the only customers in the entire hotel, but it was packed.
I could go on for a long time about how they made this portion of our trip amazing. The hotel, staff, food, service, everything was absolutely amazing.

The hotel is perfectly located in Ninh Binh and the interior design was nicely done. There were many children during our stay but the hotel manager was thoughtful enough to put us on a floor with less family.

I thought the hotel was clean and friendly with a decent pool and nice breakfast in the morning. They had motor scooters to rent for very little money and a scooter was a perfect way to get between the various sites and attractions. The ride to Cuc Phoung National Park was a moderately dangerous blend of spewing 18 wheelers and road construction, but the ride in the park itself was enchanting. The road was about 8 ft wide through a dense rain forest... with butterflies !

This hotel is one of the very, very few hotels in Vietnam, where we have been unable to fault anything they do here. Well done. The staff - Very friendly and helpful. Most of them speak quite a high level of English. All are immaculately dressed. All are competent at their jobs. The owner even puts them through English classes each week. A special praise for the owner, and the staff members Mrs Marguerita, Ms Carol, Nga, Trung and Tam! Keep up the good work.

We really liked this hotel. It is very new. We did have a problem with the shower overflowing. The shower itself is poorly designed. However, this was the only negative thing. This hotel nice hotel located away from the downtown area in a nice peaceful location with beautiful surroundings. The hotel staff is very friendly and inviting. I forgot to get my backpack that checked in at the hotel front desk before leaving for Hanoi. The hotel shipped my luggage to my hotel in Hanoi free of charge the next day. If you want to enjoy the beauty of Ninh Binh then this is a great hotel that has everything you need.
