Bed Bug feces, urine and sweat stains on the mattress? Wait 2 business days to speak to mgmt who doesn’t care? Than you will love staying here. “Bed bugs are a normal part of the hotel business”. Made the mistake of sitting at the desk to eat my food before I checked the bed- so I exceeded their 60 min policy and was NOT refunded. (97 min in part because I removed my belongings & time at the front desk trying to discuss with the clerk).

I booked a King Sized room. I got a mini suite(?)with a double bed. We are accustomed to a king size bed. My SO went to the couch at 230. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet.

I did not see on the website that there would be a $100 \" damage deposit\" at check in. Imagine my surprise when I received an alert from my credit card holder for possible fraud! I think that could have been waived since we are \"golden agers.\"

The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. It was filled with rust stains.

The check in staff was friendly and helpful. They told me that there is a hospital rate during the week if I call and book with them directly.

The desk clerk this morning barely acknowleged me when I asked if I would get an immediate damage deposit credit when I turned the keys in. I will give some employee credit for retrieving my SO's forgotten wallet and phone which he'd left in the room. Thank you!

We will stay there the next time we have an early check in at the ortho facility. I will make sure I communicate exactly what I need.

It took about 30 minutes to check in. They didn't have our reservation correct, the rooms were unavailable as well. I had to talk to three different people about the payment because two of our six rooms were on a different payment. I even wrote down how it should be charged and they still have it wrong today! One room door wouldn't lock or shut. We asked for the person on duty to check it, he never did. Another room didn't have a working heater. Another room had the hot and cold mixed around in the shower.

This place is awful. Arrived and the place was so dirty. The windows are disgusting! Then I go to check in and they gave away my room. Said they tried to run my card and it didn’t work. So they just cancelled it. No call, no message, no email, nothing!! And they had no more rooms available so they couldn’t help me. Well interesting. I was under the pay upon arrival and they ran my card before I arrived. Interestingly there was a tournament in town that day. All rooms were going for way more than what I paid. Guess what my card worked just fine for the expensive room we ended up at instead somewhere else. Probably for the best after seeing the inside of this place!! Gross and unethical behavior!

I want to say the desk clerk working was very nice and professional. The carpet looked like it was newer and the linens were clean. The room smelled nice. BUT, all of the furniture was old, torn, stained, dirty. The lamp shades were supposed to be white, were yellowed and had black mold spots along with dust. The toilet bowl was stained yellow. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. It’s ok for the short overnight trip we had planned, but would not recommend a family stay or longer than an overnight trip. The pool was ice cold and the hot tub was covered with wood. A lot of potential, but definitely needs upgrades and attention.

We stayed for 2 nights, my daughter and i were on a girls trip!
The room was nice, we had a jacuzzi tub in it which looked run down but worked okay, my daughter loved it! The breakfast was good, i really liked the biscuits and gravy!
The pool was freezing cold, and didnt get warmer at all until your body was just too numb to notice! The hot tub was boarded up which was disappointing. When we first checked in we had to wait about 15 minutes until someone finally came to the front desk. We had rung the bell probably 10 times waiting a few minutes in between. The guy was very nice but seemed like he may have also been cleaning rooms. So staff may be an issue.
Over all it was a very pleasant stay!

Staff was unpleasantly rude. They have a $100 deposit which in the posted sign has $50 and on booking website both theirs and third party no deposit is said to be. we got stuck during a snowstorm and our plans were shot. it didn't matter, we stayed inside and drink hot chocolate and played cards in front of the fireplace. nice staff, they kept the sidewalks clean and offered a clean broom to clean off our vehicle. it was a win win.

The first room had a mouse tha had chewed open the coffee and left a trail across the table. The second room had plumbing issues and the lock on the door deactivated the key each time. Our room had not been vacuumed and the screen on the window was ripped. The cable tv kept going in and out. The reservation was for 2 nights. We stayed one.

Not great. Front Desk individual accidentally ran our credit card twice. I caught it right away and a hotel manager was able to cancel the 2nd pymt the next day. Simple mistake, but it caused us all kinds of problems and multiple phone calls (6) with the credit card company to sort it out. Room 217 was NOT clean. Dirt and leaves on the carpet, obviously not vacuumed. Shower was not clean - hair on the walls. Room phone did not work. My expectations were rather low at $75/night, but unfortunately this experience failed to reach even the lowest of expectations.

Great location and friendly staff. We had some issues with the snow buildup in the parking lot, and a short shower curtain that left the bathroom floor very wet after showers. My biggest complaint was the lack of drinking water - they have ice however. We came from a different Americinn 20 miles west of this location due to weather. The other property is in Williamsburg, Iowa and is much nicer regarding the beds, pillows, and television with cable, and filtered water with ice - but more expensive.

Location of this property is excellent. The staff were VERY friendly. We had problems with the snow buildup in the parking lot, and a short shower curtain that left the floor soaked during our showers. My biggest complaint is the lack of drinking water. They have ice, but no fresh water available. We moved from a nearby Americinn Williamsburg, Iowa to this one (twenty miles apart), and the Williamsburg property was MUCH nicer. The beds, pillows, television with cable channels were superior in the Williamsburg property - which is higher priced.

Room was not clean. There was trash in the can in the room. The lights on the night stand did not work. There was a hole in the wall behind the night stand. After a quick nap, in November, I woke up to what Google tells me was a German cockroach on the night stand. Staff put me in a new room that was cleaner, but after finding a cockroach, moving a couple rooms down is not something that lets you get a good nights rest.

Check in went fine, staff was nice and room was quiet. Hotel is outdated, room was outdated, door a little hard to get closed, room did not seem clean/wiped down at all, looked like water damage/possible mold by pipe by toilet, opened window shades and window looked like it had never been cleaned. At least the sheets/bed seemed clean. We got in late went to sleep and as soon as we woke up we checked out. Lots close by but will opt to stay somewhere else next time

The customer service was great! But our bed was horrible. Very lumpy. Also our sink wasnt usable. The water ran out of the pipes right on the floor. The lady at the front desk was all alone and said there wasnt anyone to fix it right now. So we had to use the bathtub to bush our teeth. But all in all the customer service was fatastic.

I have stayed at multiple AmericInn properties and this was a very poor experience. We came up for Parent's Weekend to see our son and booked a suite so that we had a pull out couch for him to stay. The pull out couch was stained and when my son went to lay on it the entire mattress collapsed and the coach came up into the air. We ended up taking him back to his dorm room to sleep which was incredibly disappointing given we were staying the night so we could spend more time together as a family. The bathroom tolliet was also dirty and there were stains on the walls which I hope were pizza stains and not blood. For the price I paid for one night I feel a refund of some sorts is needed. I have pictures if needed for evidence.

I would say the staff was very nice.

Not a bad stay, but this hotel needs a lot of updates. We had \"semi warm\" water for our shower. There was dirt and hair build up in the corners of the bathroom floor. Cobwebs above bed. Night stand light/s were missing a light bulb so only one side worked. We thought the remote didn't work as we couldn't get the TV on, but the TV, frig, and microwave didn't work either when we got in, so we checked outlets and were able to plug things in and then they worked. We couldn't get the hairdryer to work. Staff was very nice though!

This is a super outdated hotel. There’s no hot tub as the pictures indicate; it’s been filled in with cedar planks…but the signage is still up. Weird. Rooms don’t have usb outlets and the tv has few channels. Additionally, rooms smell musky and ours had that lingering odor from when smoking was legal in rooms, I think. The people were nice and the bed was comfortable. It could be worse for sure but the breakfast was its saving grace! Lots of options including waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, donuts, and toast.

What you pay doesn't equal what you get

The rooms were not great. Not well stocked on items you usually find in a room. The bathroom lights in one of our rooms did not even work but they didn't apologize or offer to fix - just made a note and that was that. The staff were just ok. One staff member gave a new key to our room for one of our guests who arrived late but whose name was not on the reservation - a bit of a safety concern I'd say. We asked for any bottled water and were told simply \"no\" without any support or suggestions on where to get any. For what we paid, I would not suggest staying here. We were in for a Hawkeye game and had limited options... but will find an alternative next time.

There were fleas in the room. I alerted the desk staff and brought her a flea that I was able to catch and kill in the bathroom 15 minutes after we checked in. She said she would let someone know.
The next morning, I asked the desk employee on shift if there was a note on our visit because there were fleas in the room. She said she didn’t know and told me that the room we were in wasn’t even a pet room (we checked in to that room with a dog). I told her I brought a flea in a cup last night so they could be aware of the situation and treat the room. She said she would let management know, but she didn’t know if they would even be in since it was Friday or if they would be in over the weekend at all.
I returned to the room and spotted 2 more fleas on the bed that I was not able to capture. They jumped and landed on the black carpet and I couldn’t find them.
I went back to the clerk and asked to cancel my 2nd night reservation due to the infestation and she told me she wasn’t able to do that. She said there was no supervisor and no one she could call and she couldn’t even check me out early without supervisor approval. She said she didn’t know if I would be charged or not for the 2nd night and there was nothing she could do.

All of this, made the sink faucet that sprayed out in all directions and the dog hair trapped in the sheet fibers of the “non-pet room” barely noticeable.

I still have yet to hear if I will be receiving a refund for the 2nd night since we didn’t stay

I did have one issue. I was putting ice from ice vending machine into plastic bags I had taken to help keep items in my cooler cold enough, and was rudely accused of filling up my cooler with ice which was not what I had done. I had only filled up a couple of bags.

It needs a 100% redo to get up to even a 3 Star standard.

We loved the area and that it was out of the business. The issues we had were inside of our room, the towels were stained, the conjoining door next to us could see into our room because it was missing the piece that hides the lock, and overall it wasn’t the cleanest room we’ve ever stayed in. Thankful for a bed to sleep in always but I expected it to be cleaner
