Banff park lodge is in a great location for walking through downtown Banff. It’s currently under construction with upgrades so that made it a little difficult to get around but the staff was very helpful with everything. Their restaurant has an amazing fettuccine with chicken dish. Rooms were clean and nice.

Property is well situated to all of the activities. Property is undergoing significant renovations that had challenged the stay. Construction noise was only 8am to 6pm but noise from outside was at times interfering. AC and heat are not integrated well so hotel was very hot with the thermostat demand saying cooling but air pumping hot. We were told to keep exterior doors open but street noise and train activity was bothersome. Staff did their best to accommodate the inconveniences where they could.

Overall Banff Park Lodge is a very nice hotel. We had a room on the main floor with no view (we faced a wall). There were renovations ongoing and road closures which resulted in minor inconveniences.

Room was nice. Recently remodeled but already a little wear and tear in the bathroom trim. Good location downtown but off the main avenue. Basement parking was convenient, but only one elevator. We often took the stairs from the third floor. Did not eat at the restaurants. Seemed geared towards older guests. Would stay again, but would also consider other options.

We stayed at the Banff Park Lodge for 2 nights in May 2026 on our journey from Vancouver to Calgary.

The hotel is going through final renovations, concentrated on its lobby area, following complete renovation of all the guest areas. We found the room to be of a very high quality with all the amenities you would expect.

We did not eat in any of the restaurants but we did take the hotel up on its offer of a free drink in the bar which was a pleasant space with the usual welcoming staff.

The pool area was a decent size with both a jacuzzi and hot plunge pool in addition to the pool and steam room. The only negative was the lack changing facilities or robes for guest use coming and going from the pool. You could end up stuck waiting for someone to finish using the one men’s or women’s changing room.

Staff were friendly and they answered questions in advance of our stay promptly. We availed of the underground car park which could benefit from some additional signage whilst the ongoing work to Caribou St is finished.

Overall we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and would recommend!

This hotel was in a brilliant location and it was quick and easy to get around. There was plenty of parking (which is an additional cost) and we were very impressed. I was thankful to the hotel staff who helped change our gondola tickets as my son was poorly for a day, and it was helpful having easy to use laundry services. The pool area was very quiet and the kids had it to themselves. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Great location. Nice room, small bathroom but OK. Mattress was encased in some sort of synthetic material which had an overheating effect so didn't have best of sleeps. Large underground parking which was very dusty due to all the construction going on. Crazy that given the high room charges (I know, it's Banff, they're all doing it) they charge you extra for parking.

The hotel is currently under a major renovation but we had access to all the things we needed, plus a room upgrade. We were there with family en tow, 10 and 12YO boys. We had an adjoining room with 2 bathrooms, 2 beds, a pullout couch and a seating area on the main floor, it gave us space to relax and spread out when we weren’t out doing things in the area.

We enjoyed the newly updated Crave restaurant for an easy buffet breakfast on the days we were headed out. The pool and hot tub area was beautiful, like a grotto. We loves the location right on the Bow River and next to the main strip.

We had a lovely trip and will stay here again! I want to make this trip in the winter!

Our room was clean. Cleaning staff were kind and friendly. My sons enjoyed the pool although it wasn’t as clean. There were grains at the bottom of the floor. I stepped on a shard and it scratched my foot but nothing major. Check in staff were okay, just basic service. They don’t really go beyond on what you call amazing service. I called to ask for cutlery and I was told to ask Crave restaurant. I went down to ask Crave and they were nice and provided one for me.

Stayed here for 3 nights in lovely Banff . Great location for walking or bike riding around the lake /golf course . Only negative is the renovations .. we were told about them after booking . The gym was tiny and the pool had workmen there every day . We also overlooked a building sight which was very dusty and noisy .

As soon as we arrived, there was a guy outside walking towards the hotel entrance and he guided us thru the check-in and showed us the underground parking and gave us all kinds of info on the area! I think he might have been in the management team.
Our room was clean and well kept during our stay. Everyone here was really nice and helpful.
The buffet at breakfast was extremely delicious and with everything available.

We arrived at the hotel hoping our room might be ready a little before the guaranteed 4:00 p.m. check-in time, as it was raining heavily outside and my daughter needed time to get ready for a dance competition. The front desk attendant advised that we would receive a text once the room was ready, so we waited on the couches directly beside the front desk.

After waiting most of the afternoon with no updates, around 3:45 p.m. the attendant finally radioed housekeeping to check on the status of our room. At 3:59 p.m. we were told the housekeeping manager still needed to double-check the room, and we ultimately did not receive the text that our room was ready until 4:10 p.m.

What disappointed me most was the lack of urgency or thought given to the situation, especially considering the 4:00 p.m. check-in time is advertised as guaranteed. While waiting within earshot of the desk, we could also hear staff complaining about customer requests, which left a very poor impression and soured the start of our stay.

I understand delays can happen, but better communication, professionalism, and consideration for guests would have gone a long way.

Unfortunately due to construction on the front street someone accidentally hit a gas line and we were evacuated from the hotel for hours. We were able to cancel the rest of our stay no questions asked. The pool is freezing and the hot tub isn’t hot. Our family loves to swim so this was a disappointment. Didn’t get to try the restaurant we chose to eat elsewhere the first night because it didn’t look family friendly but since we were evacuated the next morning we didn’t really get to explore the hotel and all its amenities. Parking was also a disappointment, it was so crowded and not enough for everyone some guests had to use the parking across the street at the Peaks hotel.

We arrived early (noon) at Banff Park Lodge and found the road in front of the hotel, as well as 2 other hotels nearby, closed off due to a gas leak. Hotel staff told us that they would contact me when it was safe and my room was ready, which they did around 4pm. Check-in went smoothly. The room was slightly larger than average, newly furnished, with a clean, modern look, and came with a fridge, microwave, and 2 Queen beds. Unfortunately, our room didn’t come with complementary breakfast. The restaurant on-site, Crave, serves breakfast buffet for around $27. On Friday nights, Crave has a dinner buffet with a wide selection of dishes for $39, which is one of the best deals in Banff for dinner. There’s another restaurant on-site, La Terrazza, and an indoor pool at the hotel. There are many restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute walk from the hotel, if you choose to dine elsewhere. Parking charge (underground) is $14 per night.

We have stayed in several top hotels in Banff and Canmore and can say a new favourite is the Banff Park Lodge. Friendly staff, clean updated rooms, wonderful private balcony, and inviting bar and restaurant. For travellers who want to experience the peaceful nature Banff is known for and for anyone looking to access a full range of shopping and tourist stops, the location means you are steps away from both. With the river a minute from the hotel, you have access to an extensive path for walks or runs, and the canoe club ramp. Rent a canoe and explore the area on the water (very fun and highly recommended). Banff Avenue and Bear Street has a plethora of shops and eateries that will fit a wide range of budgets and tastes. The Upper Hot Springs is just a short drive away, but the pool and sauna on site mean you can have the best of both worlds. Perfect for all travellers - families, couples and friends. Definitely returning. If we could give it more than five stars, we would.

This hotel is nearly perfect, and I truly enjoyed my stay. However, I would like to provide some feedback regarding the concierge, Emma.
While Emma was very friendly, her assistance lacked the proactive approach I expected. For two days, she was unable to help with my tour requests; for example, when looking for helicopter and ATV tours, she only searched online and told me nothing was available. In contrast, a male colleague on duty at 7 PM the previous night was extremely helpful and made several calls on my behalf. Furthermore, I easily found multiple helicopter slots at a nearby travel agency right after being told it was impossible.
As a traveler, my time is precious, and I rely on the concierge’s expertise. I believe Emma has a great attitude, but the service could be improved by being more resourceful and dedicated to finding solutions.
Everything else was excellent, and I hope this feedback is helpful.

Was disappointed of location of our room. Almost the farthest room from the elevator. We could not enjoy our balcony due to the construction outside. We were not told this may be an issue.
We had come to this hotel for a few visits and were disappointed. I feel like we were punished for not booking directly with the hotel. One of our most favourite reasons for staying was the sauna, which was not working and the jacuzzi had no pressure in the jets.

We had a good experience at Banff Park Lodge. They are undergoing rennovations, which didn't impact our stay very much. The room itself was spacious and modern. I think there might be some undone improvements at this time (i.e. Countertop at the room entryway), but that didn't affect our experience. I look forward to finer touches in the future, like artwork on the walls and such.

We took advantage of the pool and had a drink at the bar. It was nice!

There were two issues to note, however. Firstly, the onsite parking requires driving through a tight back alleyway to get to the garage door entry at this time due to construction. The road is not well maintained (i.e. Potholes and bumpy).

Secondly, the front desk was messaging us through WhatsApp during the stay. This was very convenient to ask questions and make requests. On check-out day, I received and responded to their reminder about the check-out time, which they also confirmed recieving my reply. However, 1 hour before check-out, we got an aggressive knock on the door to remind us about the check-out time again. It caught us by surprise because of how loud it was, and also felt redundant. Better internal communication could have prevented this and made our experience better, especially at the very end of our otherwise great experience.

I was in room 258. My friend and I shared a room. We paid $1000 for a room (by the time hidden fees and taxes were added in), with a view of a WALL. The place was under severe construction. I needed a safety pin and front desk couldn’t find their complementary mending kits. The hand soap has holes in it and dissolves in your hands. While my friend drove her car and it fit below the hotel, I worried my suv would not fit. The parking beside the hotel that I was counting on was gone and housing is being built on it and behind the place the first day was completely full so I got an $55 parking ticket because my vehicle wouldn’t fit underground - and there is no parking anywhere! I parked a couple blocks away and walked not realizing I was in a residential zone. The only thing that made this better was a kind Asian check in woman who saw me in distress and helped me answer questions and allowed me to park in the back where this hotel posted on a big green sign that said “small car only - trucks will be towed away”. By this time I was grumpy, $55 poorer and had no where to put my vehicle. Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had in terms of value.

We had no idea of all the renovations, and just wanted to come here and unwind. We asked a staff member (housekeeper) where the pool was and she said it was closed, it was not. The pool area was fantastic, glad we asked the front desk. The restaurant did not have the same menu as before and there was only a pricey buffet. The food was delicious, but paid too much. Overall the stay was just ok, wished we had stayed somewhere else which was disappointing, because we usually enjoy the BPL, we could have stayed at their sister hotel for less, and enjoyed the pool. The lobby is a bit chaotic with all the tour bus people, hopefully will be done soon for other guests.

I was here for a conference. The food was excellent. My room was comfortable. They charge $14 per day which is unacceptable given the fact I paid over $700 for two nights. The fire alarm went off twice one night. The hotel offered no apology or explanation. When I checked out, I asked if they could honor the conference rate we were given. Because I booked through Expedia, they said there was nothing they could do. They did refund my parking. I suppose that was their apology for the fire alarm? I won't stay here again.

This was one of the best stays we’ve had in a hotel. For a hotel that is surrounded by ongoing renovations and construction our stay exceeded our expectations. We heard construction noises outside on the Monday around 11am which was fine. The sound proofing in the room made it hardly noticeable. For the rate we paid it was worth the experience. The great thing with parking is the close proximity to downtown Banff. We left our car underground until we needed it for our trip to Johnston Canyon. That was the most convenient part for us. Breakfast in the hotel was such a deal for the food options at the buffet. Overall very happy with our choice!

Good value for money in Banff. Close the the river for a nice morning walk with a coffee. Renovated rooms are much nicer and a good update from a few years ago. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
