We have told that we couldnt stay at polar so We ended up staying at hotel Kangerlussuaq.
We liked it better staff breakfast was normal to our daily. Workers are the friendliest

Nothing negative to say about the rooms. The problem was the service. When it was time for our check-in, our keys were missing. We figure eventually to go to Hotel Kangerlussuaq to get them. No staff from Polar Lodge to help us for the whole week-end. Other guests seems to be confused with the check-in process. We had to deal with the receptionist of the Hotel Kangerlussuaq several times for different issues/questions (for
instance the soap we had was overly diluted in the bathroom). He was clearly annoyed to help us. Not the type of service we expect. Fortunately, the locals from Kangerlussuaq are such good folks.

I slept really well here. Caroline in particular was lovely and has multiple good recommendations for me and helped me out when the room I was assigned was not what I would have hoped for. They could improve the breakfast since it’s just basic carbs and nothing else. No protein, no fruit. But it wasn’t a big deal. Do yourself a favor and book a FULL DAY trip on the ice with Albatross. I had an unforgettable and amazing day. Using crampons for the first time and walking down ice might scare you but the guide Karl was amazing and he’s a great coach. It feels scary and awkward at first but it’s so worth it.

I did not know exactly what to expect at Polar Lodge but my expectations were exceeded. It was well located just beside airport - walk over. But no one there for reception and no key! I got that at reception in Hotel Kangerlussuaq so watch this if arriving after 2. Room was minimalistic but clean. Shared bathroom no issue and loads hot water. Breakfast continental but fine. Overall good enough for our 2 nights there- full day on glacier great trip

I was asked to have breakfast at the hotel Kangerlussuaq instead of at the Polar lodge. So I went for breakfast there. After having part of the breakfast i was told that actually i should have had breakfast at the Polar lodge and consequently i was forced to pay

Like it's location, near airport ,supermarket and cafe. Not like it's facilities quite lack of maintenance. The wall paper of the toilet came down and some rooms do not connect with the breakfast area, have to go outside in, pretty inconvenience if the weather is not good.

Not a lot of options in Kangerlussuaq. Wanted to stay in airport hotel but was full. Lucky to get this place in high season. Basically a hostel - very small rooms and shared bath down the hall. Room and bath were clean, although they ask you to strip your bed before you leave which is annoying when you are rushing to catch an early morning flight. Breakfast buffet is minimal. Two minute walk to airport.

This accommodation exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable and quiet with rooms overlooking the airport. Clean with three toilets and a shower (in our area). Breakfast of cereal, breads, toaster, condiments, coffee and juice. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Free Wi-Fi which has been helpful. We’ve walked into the township, had dinner at the airport cafe which is open late or there is a Hotel restaurant at the airport, we have also had dinner at the Rowing Club and a complimentary bus collected us from Polar Lodge. The supermarket is located across the road if you want to cook your own meals here and there is a small shop close by where we bought a hotdog for lunch.

It's 4th time I was staying in this hotel, and I like it, the area is always great, just 50 meters of walk from the airport.

But the bed felt weird and kinda bit uncomfortable, but I didn't notice it after few minutes, and the quilt was extremely warm, even it's April.

Great stay! Super clean room, friendly folks, and clean shared bathroom. This place makes no secret of what it is. A clean space to stay with shared toilets. Know this and you’ll be just fine. Right next door to airport so it’s walkable.

Better than Appearances Would Suggest

Let's face it - this is one ugly looking hotel. But then again, buildings in this part of the world are strictly built with purpose rather than ornamentation. What is important is that, once inside, it is surprisingly cozy and comfortable with ample heat. The shared bathrooms are very clean and there is ample hot water (although you must remember to bring your own soap and shampoo!). However, the best part is that the building is literally about 500 feet away from the airport entrance via a (mostly) wood planked walkway. In addition to being extremely convenient for catching early flights, the airport is, by far, the main commercial center in town. In addition to being an airport, it has a health clinic, a cafeteria that remains open until the evening, a bar, an ATM, and a gift shop. And literally across from the airport entrance is the town's only grocery store, which is also extremely convenient. Proximity to the airport is especially important on a Sunday because most of the businesses are closed or have very, very limited hours, so it is literally the only place to eat. Also, all of the guided tours originate at the airport, so that is also a major plus.

Breakfast is very basic (cereal/muesli, oatmeal, bread and cheese) with no fresh items. Still, supplemented with whatever you can cook up with your own ingredients in the kitchen, it has the potential to be great. Each table has a carafe of good coffee, hot water and milk.

Guter Ausgangspunkt für Trips zum Inlandeis.

Die Lodge liegt ganz nah am Flughafen, zu Fuß erreichbar, in welchem sich auch 2 Restaurants befinden. Eine Bude mit leckerem Eis und leckerem Kaffee befindet sich auch direkt in der Nachbarschaft, ebenso wie der Abholparkplatz für die verschiedenen Ausflüge, die man buchen kann. Der Ort an sich gibt nicht viel her.

If I could rate it with -0 I, I certainly would. Badly maintained, last step to the entrance is missing, so you have to pull up your (haevy) luggage over the gap.

Most of the time the reception is not attended. Tumbler not working. Bed sheeds, pillow cover, blanket cover, have to be removed by the guests bevore leaving.

Very baisic breaky, just the bare minimum. Not worth the money. Only suitable for undemanding travellers.

The only advantage: it's only 100m off the airport.

Fra lufthavn til seng - og tilbage igen.

Man tager en gammel bygning og sætter i stand. Helt OK, men man skal også HEN til bygningen - også, når det ikke er sommer. Der er bygget en slags gangbro, men den stoppper i flere omgange. Da jeg overnattede, var der stadigvæk en del (halvoptøet) sne, så at få den tunge kuffert var ikke let - skulle have taget et billede af hjulene. OG havde man fjernet den \"slushice\", der lå foran bygningen, ville have gjort tingene lettere. Sidste: Jeres morgenemad er mere end kedelig - sorry! Ved, I holder pricen nede, meeen. Vivi

Tæt på Terminalen i lufthavnen............... :)

Simpelthen for gammelt til at kalde sig hotel. Venlige mennesker men sørgelig forfatning på opholdsstedet. God beliggenhed, du kan spadsere 150 m til terminalen i lufthavnen. Grønland er fantastisk. Ejerne af dette kunne få så meget mere ud af dette sted selvom det \"bare\" er et transit hotel. :)

Flyvet ankommer kl. 15.45. Døren til reception lukker damtifigt som jeg kommer. Hold dog åben 15 min. Mere! Ingen goddag, velkommem til, dit værelse ligger derhenne, du skal (underligt nok) lige gå ud af bygningen osv
Væelse er gammeldags. Uden TV - stort minus! Kun en stik dåse, så man må vælge mellem at få ladt telefon og eller lys ved sengen. Hvad dog i det mindste to stik.
Alt for dyrt til et dårligt med toilet på gangen.
