Friendly staff and good breakfast but that is it. Drains in shower and sink are super slow. Shower leaks into bathroom. Bed is small so for two it’s cramped. No AC and room was 23C so opening window lets in cold air but streets are very noisy. Pillows are flat so ask for two. Coffee machine in lobby, which charges, did not work but did take the money.

Great hotel for exploring Oslo. BIG hotel (12 floors?) with a great staff. They have a fabulous buffet breakfast with several dining areas, the bed & bedding is excellnt, size of the room is good - and if you're lucky (or ask) one side of the hotel looks out over the river: beautiful!
We stayed three different nights on our trip, would def stay again.
One BIG plus: it is right on the tram line for the 12, 15, 18. That's super convenient: all three stop in front of the train station & on the hotel block, they go all over Oslo. Great brew pub across the street and river walks at your doorstep.
Only small issue? WC is basic, shower stall a bit small for a 6'3\" 250 lb man.

Fairly central location, about 15 minute walk to the city centre. Check in was smooth. Staff very polite. Breakfast was really good. Plenty of choice of hot and cold and good quality. Once you leave the lobby/restaurant area, it’s like being in a different hotel. The downstairs has obviously had a make over but the upstairs not so. However, our room was clean and served its purpose. Lighting was a bit dark, and no tea/coffee making facilities. You can get a hot drink downstairs but you have to pay for it. Overall a nice enough hotel but could do with a drinks tray in the room.

Hotel is conveniently right at a tram stop for the #12 #15 #18 trams easy to get everywhere in Oslo right on the trams!
Very friendly helpful reception when we arrived after 10 pm March 31st.
We got a room on the 9th floor overlooking the river: lovely view.
Bed was very comfortable, pillows & duvets good, room warm but windows open for those who need fresh air.
The bathroom & closet small but fine for a short stay.
TV had a number of English language channels.
Good buffet breakfast with wide choice of options. Lots of baked goods, waffles & pancakes, roasted potatoes, several cheeses, yogurts, chereals, nuts, fruit, veg and v good pate, as well as sausage and bacon. Only one specialty coffee machine which caused line ups, but drip also available (& teas, juices) the usual hotel buffet scrambled eggs & hard boiled eggs.
All in all this is a great option in Oslo for convenience, comfortable sleep, good breakfast, good rate!

I loved the view from the high floor and the breakfast was definitely good. The hotel was not expensive considering the prices in Oslo, but the rooms were small and maintenance was so so.

4 night break with friends. 10 minute walk to the centre id Oslo or 2 tram stops from directly outside the hotel. Loads of cafes, bars, restaurants and an excellent food court within 5 minutes. Hotel quiet so a good nights sleep.

Only complaint was that our “triple” room that was meant to have three equally good single beds actually had two real beds and one that was more like a fold-out cot. It still worked for us, and we were overall happy!

First, the room: the room was very clean and the beds were great. It was really very well laid out and was a great choice for the 5 of us to be in the same room.

The bathroom: was very small and the shower was not very nicely integrated into the space. Using it completely floods the bathroom floor with water. Also, the pipes in the bathroom were SUPER loud whenever anyone above you used the facilities above.

The buffet breakfast: was INCREDIBLE. No other way to describe the massive variety of quality food options. It was genuinely amazing.

Bottom line: I’d gladly stay here again. The staff were friendly. The room was clean. The location was great. The food was wonderful. The bathroom… the only downside to the experience.

We stayed in the family room and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out and relax. Our room was late to be ready, but the staff were very efficient at getting it ready for us when the issue arose. The breakfast was amazing!

A perfect stay at Anker Hotel. The location of the hotel is right next to the tram stop connecting you to central station. It’s also right next to the lovely river Akerselva. I was able to take several scenic walks right from the hotel. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed. It was modern with plenty of lighting and plugs but also had some old fashioned attributes I appreciated like a plug for the sink and a window that opens. The breakfast buffet is stellar. A huge selection. I’m vegetarian and had no problems eating my fill. They even had plant based bologna and cheese, and three types of plant based milk. They have sustainability in mind with recycling bins in hallways, and a wooden key instead of using plastic. If you are considering staying at Anker don’t think about it anymore just book it. You will be happy you did.

Perfect for a few days exploring Oslo. Steps to Oslo’s excellent bus and trams that take you anywhere, but check out the sumptuous breakfast before you explore. Being from North America we were impressed with the high degree of eco-friendliness, although it did take some guessing to make the hot water work in the sink. Love Scandinavian heated floors. Maybe a shelf in the shower for shampoo?

The hotel is quite convenient to get to by tram from Oslo S. The bed was very comfortable. However there is no air conditioning; thankfully it cooled off at night. My only complaint is the breakfast staff are pretty rude and start to remove things the second clock says breakfast is over. I was made to feel I had to leave, so I took the rest of my breakfast to the room to finish. The Front Desk staff was fantastic.

The walk from the city centre is a little dodgy as you pass a drug rehab centre with some less desirable people hanging around. Get the tram instead of walking.
Tip: use the lifts in the bar area as quicker.

On arrival first impression the hotel exterior is not bad, but when checking in had to wait almost one hour having been told the rooms were not ready being tired that was very annoying, generally speaking the staff were helpful throughout the stay. The reception area is very disappointing the carpets and furniture are all stained, old and unpleasant definitely need updating. The rooms although had great views bed was basic linen and bathrooms. The hot water kept going cold 5/10 breakfast was ok and enough of choice so that would deserve 6/10 internet needed rebooting a few times 5/10 transport access very good. Overall sum it all

The summer was surprisingly hot over there, they don’t have AC and it can get boiling hot in the rooms. Some rooms have windows that open wildly and some just a little so in those ones it’s hard to get some air from outside at night when the air cool down. I would say if the weather is very very hot again make sure to ask for the room with wild windows or find another spot ( if the heat can disturb your sleep ) The beds were super comfy tho .
The location is great ! Super close to all the nice areas . Everything is walkable like the train station is 15mins walk from the hotel . Very easy.
The hotel is also situated is one of the coolest and nicest neighborhoods with lot of restaurants. L
The staff is accommodating and very lovely.
Overall it’s was nice to stay there for the location and it’s easy access.

Perfect location only steps from a transit stop to easily access anywhere in Oslo. The weather was very hot when we visited and unfortunately there is no air conditioning and they ran short of fans for rooms. It was still not too bad as it cooled down a bit at night. The breakfast was amazing. So many options for food and drinks. Our family all loved the breakfast. The staff was great, very helpful with recommendations for swimming and transportation.

But they never helped worst when we checked out. We saw that two electric fans were given to the rooms right next to us. When we do not have even a single one. Uncomfortable stays

Very convenient, adjacent to biking/walking paths along a river, with an Oslo Bysykkel station beside the main entrance. On warm summer nights the room was uncomfortably hot with no ventilation system and a window that opened just a few centimetres. Staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet is superb!

Excellent location right by the tram line and busses, easily walkable to Oslo S and nearby neighborhoods. Somewhat noisy with the ambulances leaving all hours of the day, but I appreciated the location as it's easy to walk to lots of shops, restaurants, and bars.

Breakfast is good, typical Scandinavian hotel breakfast options of fresh fruits and veggies, warm buffet, etc.

Rooms: Room size was OK and clean. However, to me, my room was quite dark (even in June), the lighting was two bedside lights, a lamp by the table and then a few track lights above the TV. Windows helped, but one window was rather small (maybe to help sleep in summertime?).
Beds were comfortable and bathroom was quite small (expected). Only issue was the shower doors were odd and did not keep water from spreading across the bathroom floor so I would need to use a towel every morning as a floor mat, and my bathroom door somehow was broken/bent (metal got bent at bottom of door?) by housekeeping during my stay so that it wouldn't close. Not a big issue but odd occurrence.

That said, hotel rooms are primarily for sleeping which I was able to do. For me the location and breakfast made up for the shortcomings of the room.
