A comfortable bed for a great nights stay. Good breakfast options.
Zachary
great place to stay
Dawn
Don't stay here. It is in need of a very good cleaning and upgrade. I understand it is a motel, but everything from the toilet, shower, and furniture is run-down and gross. The breakfast and coffee were not good. I paid 30 for a pet, most places that are higher end cost 25. I paid over 100 for this place, which was such a rip off. The only positive thing I can say is the bed was comfortable. It is also located right next to a pretty lake.
Melissa
Excellent front desk service. Thoughtful and helpful. She was awesome.
John
All Good no issues or complaints.

The property was very clean and well maintained in a safe area. The room was comfortable. Very good value!

The beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever used. The place was really clean. A few issues though - the ice machine was broken, the breakfast bar was not set up by 7 AM on a Saturday morning, and the soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers in my room were empty. Property looked very well taken care of otherwise.
Bruce
Grumpy staff/owners. They seem to hate their jobs!
Matthew
The breakfast that was included was horrible and not worth the the cost of having it.
Theresa
Clean and quiet. Friendly helpful staff.
Jessica
My family has stayed here for years while visiting from out of state and will no longer go back. Rude owners, pool hours only when they feel like it, dirty pool area and disgusting hot tub, wall crumbling in pool area. Rude calls in the night from staff wondering which vehicles were ours. Constant smell of marijuana.
lucas
The property it's was nice and decent, the management was a absolutely issue from the start. Apon check-in I'm asked what brings me, and I said to see fa

Good experience

Room was tiny, but just what we needed. The evening staff was great. She treated us like guests to her own home. The breakfast was really good with great selection. Everything clean and well organized. My only negative was the heater fan in the room. No matter how I tried to change the settings it kept going on and off about every six minutes and was very loud. I couldn't figure out a setting to keep it constant.
Maria
Staff who checked us in was very patient and courteous also very friendly towards us as we are both adults with learning disabilities
Pat
The management was terrible. The service was terrible. The management were rude and very sketchy. Come off very nice in the beginning. Then they tried to charge me double the rate for my dog. And when I confronted him he got very offended and tried to make it as I was in the wrong. The toilets were clogging and flooded out bathroom. And the housekeeping was minimal to none
Ruth
Check in was easy and relaxed. Clean room. Breakfast good!
Steve
The room was clean. Person at check in was courteous, nice. Good breakfast. Sauna and pool are nice. The manager seems grumpy, not friendly. Overall it was a good stay. We'll be back.
Bridgette
I enjoyed the hot tub in the room. Paying for a suite, you'd think they would at least have coffee in the room, or at least coffee somewhere in the building. The staff was great.
julie
The room was clean. The Staff was very friendly. The hot tub was still not working, but the pool was very warm. Maybe they should not have the hot tub on the amenities page.
Shari
The hot tub was not working. It said it was not working on their official website, but it wasn’t on this website. Morning it was hard to get a good cup of coffee because the machine was broken so we had to go next-door to a gas station.
Melissa
The room was very clean and the service was excellent. Very clean!
Phillip
Great little motel in Glenwood, the warm breakfast items, sausage and eggs ran out by 7:30… other than that would stay again!
kirk
Great view of Lake Minnewaska. Friendly staff. Convenient location..
Kimberly
Rooms ok wall in pool was falling down. Hot tub was nice but supper low with water. Bed sheet dirty
Don and Marcie
Ran low on eggs
Tim
It was ok.

Good breakfast. The room was a little small, but having a refrigerator and microwave in the room was a plus.
Kaitlyn
The rooms smelled mildewy, the AC didn’t work the best and the rooms were humid. The hot tub was colder than the pool. Also, check your cards after your stay- we paid for our rooms on the app and we got charged again after check out.
Shawn
Everything was fine, but was really looking forward to the hot tub which wasnt working.
Jake
I have no complaints. The staff was nice and always had a smile, the breakfast had a good selection and nice area to eat, and the room was clean and up to date. I would stay there again!
Coley
It was an okay hotel/ the hot tub was freezing
Chris
The hot tub wasn’t heated
Eggs and sausage were cold at 7A.M. almost like they just put the cold stuff In the pan and just let it heat up only apples for fruit
Squealing exhaust fan in room
All bedding had stains also the shower curtain
Rust on the outside of fridge door and frozen towel in the freezer
No staff at desk appears to be run by a family who spend all there time In The apartment and
you have to call whenever you need something including checking in our out
Rolled up rugs In The dinning area along with extra furniture
No coffee on sight no in room coffee either can only get coffee during breakfast hours
No clock
I could go on but in short worst place I have ever stayed

Nice place to stay. Pool was a little cooler than I'm comfortable. Nice Hot tub. I wish the pool opening was earlier 10:00 am to 10:30 pm. Would like to do a morning swim but if I have to checkout at 11:00 am that makes it impossible...
Gary
One of the nicest motel 8's ive ever been to.. i give 5 stars out of laziness.. the staff fully deserves this ratings and owns up to it.. Great Job to all crew members
Chrissy
Our room that we booked was severely small. The whole hotel smelled like mildew, and the carpet was wet in our room. The sheets and chair were very dirty. Do not stay here!!
Sandra
Room was big enough. Seemed very clean. Blackout cutain really kept the room dark so that was great!
I wish the tub/shower had a grab bar for safety but otherwise no complaints

A/C unit hard to control. Very humid in the room at times. Enjoyed the breakfast very much. Staff very friendly.

- Room had a strange smell, but opened the window and that cleared it up.
- Pool and hot tub were nice to enjoy.
- Has a large breakfast area. But we did not use.
- Clean, bright, and safe.
- Smoke detector low-battery beeps came on at 8am-ish. Was able to silence it. Luck of the draw with stuff like that. Staff were not too helpful over the phone because of thick accent and mumbling.
- Not a lot going on in town. We were looking for a quick bite around 8pm. Dairy Queen down by the water is only a half kitchen. A&W across the street is closed. Pizza place was closed. Restaurant across the lot was super busy. Would not recommend planning to eat here. Grab something in Alexandria or elsewhere before coming to Glenwood for the night. Would recommend if travelling with kids: safe, clean, pool, and breakfast room.

Weekend breakfast could be extended until 10am for more convenience to the customers.

I received an email/text to enter in all of my information to make a quick check in. It did not matter to do any of this as I had to submit all of the information upon arrival. I was told the info submitted does not go to their system. The staff was friendly. The hotel is run down overall. Our room had a terrible odor and was humid. I believe a lot of the smell was coming from the air conditioning. It was nice to have a pool, however the hot tub was not very hot and there was large amount of gravel all settled down on the bottom, it needs some serious help. The breakfast was ok, they did have some hot food options. Ther rooms lack light with a few lamps. We were given an ADA room and there was limited light in the shower. The water pressure was also terrible. I would have expected more for the price I paid for a room, but when you need to stay in a town that has very limited options, you need to book. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and it was a good location for us to attend a wedding.
Tammie
All staff - great customer svc; great bkfst daily; clean rooms daily; nice pool with restroom/shower too. Good price.

It's Okay for the Price
We choose the 2nd floor since it's usually drier. The bed was comfortable. The shower head was clean and stong enough for long hair. The area was quiet. The carpet looked good. The A/C kept it cool. 68 - 70 F. The tub drain worked well. The walls and curtain of the tub were clean.
If you like it humid in your room, you'll like it here. For us, we would have liked the air to be drier. I looked for a feature on the A/C to recirculate the inside air, but no luck. I turned the A/C down, and that helped the air, but not the floor. Also, I'm doubting the exhaust fan in the bathroom was working much as it was quite dirty, and again, the air and floor stayed humid. The bathroom sink drain was slow, but it did drain. The tub itself needs a strong cleaning or to be replaced. I stood on a towel to keep from slipping as well as comfort for the oldness/cleanliness of the tub.
It looks like improvements are being made. I hope they keep going!

A real bummer
I pre-register. Came to motel and no one at front desk. Stood there waiting over 10 min. When staff came, it took forever to get my key. Problem with the computer

The staff was 'inconvienced' by us - we asked to have extra pillows & towels, we never received them; when asked for a replacement of something & towels, they brought the replacement to our door but no towels. they then proceeded to say 'desk is unattended, maybe you come down and get towels.' Why did they only bring 1 of 2 items when we asked for 2 and they confirmed 2?
Check in was extremely a long process - I did the online check in, and it stated we only needed to grab keys - but then to get keys i had to provide the SAME information I did ONLINE for the online check in and it took another 20 minutes. The front desk lady was not friendly.
The room had 2 holes punched in the wall, the shower tub looked like they paint over it and the pain was coming off, the water line for the shower head was fully exposed with a gapping hole in the wall.
The beds were comfortable - but for $200+ per night, I expected friendlier staff and no holes in my walls.

Online it specifically said that there was a private hot tub with the room we selected and when we checked in there wasn’t one in our room so we asked to be moved. They charged us $50 cash and refused to give us a receipt for it so we could be reimbursed the $50 from our travel company.
scott
Quick check-in. No tea for beverage,
Lisa
Hotel was clean. Beds were somewhat comfortable and pillows were just right. Could use better lighting in the bathroom for a woman who is applying makeup and there was a lack of usable electrical outlets in the room. The ones in the room were blocked by furniture that could not be moved
Rose
Nice stay.
Carol
They have made several updates that were needed. New carpeting, tub surrounds and new bed linens.
kirk
great view of Lake Minnewaska
Jeffrey
Great stay
Clean, comfortable and easy stay. Recent renovations to the property are nice!
Jenni
Eh
The room had an odor in it, which affected my asthma. The furniture was torn, wingback chair was dirty. Bed covers faded/dated. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked. It was what it was. Not frills. No one at the front desk for questions, check in or check out. Had to call. Not the friendliest.
I will say that the bathroom fixtures were clean, though could use a makeover.

Slimey hot tub
Bed comforter had yellow stains, and the hot tub smelled dirty and the walls in the hot tub were slimey
Jesse
Staff was friendly and welcoming. Room was clean, comfortable, a little outdated in the bathroom but didn’t really affect our stay. Breakfast was good. Pool had multiple bandaids floating around and hot tub had a lot of peeling paint, but we still used it so can’t complain too much about that. Overall I’d stay again
Jack
The breakfast in the morning 😄😄😄
Mark
Old mattress, shower had hair in it
Jordan
Can't expect much from a budget hotel, but it was good minus the beds being too hard. I barely slept because of it and messed up my lower back too
MARY
Very nice accommodations with a great price!. Very clean, nice pool area, and a nice breakfast.
Charity
Room was very small, but not a big deal. There were candy wrappers on the floor in the corner and crumbs in the bedside table drawer. The window sill was extremely dusty/dirty. Other than that, the breakfast was decent. Hotel seems a little outdated, but service was friendly.
Travis
Dirty
My tv didnt work when i got their and they told me they would have someone come look at it and never did the hallways seemed dirty and my bathroom was also dirty
david
Good hotel for the price. I world stay again

February stay
First impression had me worried but we were pleasantly surprised by our room. Nice size, clean. There were a few maintenance needs: bathroom door missing the top pin so.door.ddint close correctly, bathroom door patched hole not completed and a few light bulbs were out. Looks like they are in the process of carpet. Stairwell carpet old and grungy. The front lobby felt cheap and dirty. The lobby couch very dirty. Was not warm and inviting which is why we were very worried to see the room. But when we opened the room door we were pleased. The breakfast area was clean the food was fair. We didnt go into the pool area at all.
Theresa
Very helpful staff
dave
Nice place and people running the Super 8 were FANTASTIC. Had a little computer trouble at check in but other than that a great stay. Bed was terrific , tv and fridge were easy to use.
Kathleen
Overpriced small room
The best part of staying here was the comfortable bed and quietness. Otherwise it was overpriced for what we got--a very small room with barely enough walking space between the bed and furniture/small refrigerator. Breakfast was minimal with only 5 sausages left by 8:30 am, scrambled eggs and the usual cold items, cereals and waffle maker.
The pool hours are not user friendly as it doesn't even open until 10 am with checkout by 11 am so no time to get an early morning swim and/or soak in.
There was obviously an issue with the credit card machine as a credit card of mine was declined that shouldn't have been, and it happened with another customer.
The hotel we stayed at the night before was $20 cheaper, the room was a lot bigger and breakfast better that included biscuits and gravy, plus a wide variety of fruits and two different waffle makers.
Long story short, this hotel should be cheaper for what you get and if I ever travel by Glenwood, Minnesota again, would find another hotel to stay at.

don’t use heater in room 115
The room was a lot nicer than expected AT FIRST… and i wasn’t expecting much at all for $100 last minute. until 2am when it started to get cold so my boyfriend turned the heater on and it immediately starts smoking, and i mean so bad the smoke detector goes off and it reeks. went to the front desk (no one was there) had to call the guy and tell him to come to our room to see what’s wrong with it. then i see him standing down the hallway just staring at me, had to wave him down like i didn’t just get off the phone with him and tell him what room we were in. he obviously didn’t want to be there. then he starts searching around our room like we were smoking in there when the smoke is clearly coming out of the heater/ac. thankfully he gave us a different room because the smoke was awful, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
Patricia
Comfortable bed could’ve been a lot cleaner check in was easy
Michelle
When checking in I wasn’t asked if the card on reservation is the card I want to use for my stay, they just charged it right away without asking as I was handing them the card I did want charged. Was too big of hassle for them to change. When we got to our room the walls in bathroom and by room door were dirty with something that splattered on it. Bed sheets looked to have not been changed just bed remade with already slept in sheets. No sign posted saying hot tub was out of service. On the plus side the bed seemed to be newer and comfortable and breakfast was clean and they did let us use the area for my family to get together for pizza before leaving for my son’s wedding.
Lori
Disappointed to find out the hot tub was not working.

Expedia sent us to glenwood mn not glenwood newfoundland. We didnt notice. Cost us $147 and had to find our own room in newfoundland. It shoukd have said no hotels availabke when we searched glenwood nl not sen us somewhere else.
Ray
Not happy with expedia booking. Was reaching bookings in glenwood NL and they bumped me to Glenwood MN without us noticing. We were not anywhere near MN. So we lost our money and didn't have a room .😡

I'll be back
Nicely updated older facility. Friendly helpful staff. Clean. Pleasant. I've stayed here in the past and will again in the future.
Sarita
I checked out early because the hot tube was broken and no sheets were on the bed used the blankets to sleep on. The bed was very hard and didn't sleep very well

Family getaway
The hotel was old and we noticed a smell when we got to our room. The room was very small, but it was clean. The breakfast was good.
Jordan
Room was okay. Hot tub is down for construction. Didn’t use the pool.

Great place to spend the night

The hotel is an older property with fairly recent and updates. Our unit was clean and the bed and pillows comfy.
On the downside, the property was 12 miles off the expressway (although close by a gorgeous lake) and the in-wall HVAC unit apparently only had two speeds: dormant and wind tunnel. Our verdict is a split decision—my wife woulda’t want to stay here again and I thought it was worth the money.

Very out dated and carpets needed cleaning and were very worn. Rooms were very small.

Was nice for their small town festival.

No bathroom space for toiletries. Room smelled like cleaning solution. Unable to get fresh air.

Hot tub not working....and garbage in the mid entry to the hotel. and breakfast room...never picked up...both stank really bad...over all the hotel had a curry odor....
Deidre
I get it’s a Super 8, but in a town with limited options, Wyndham, you need to do better. Not sure what color the carpets were supposed to be because they were so dirty and missing on some steps and had huge chunks missing in the hallways. Tub was peeling and clogging our drain. Also, not the place to stay if you are sensitive to smells….smelled like curry/Indian restaurant 24hrs/day. I have pictures to share if I could post them.
Kelly
I have been in about 100 Super 8 motels and this was by far one of the cleanest. Check in was easy, got the room I requested on-line, getting extra pillows was quick and easy, and the staff left the morning buffet open a bit longer to accommodate late comers.
This was a passthrough stop for myself and husband to another out of state location, but I highly recommend a stay at this location if in the area.

The room was clean, the breakfast options were delicious and varied. You can have waffles, eggs, sausage, yoghurt, toast, fresh fruit, excellent coffee. The property is perhaps not the newest and most shiny, but the quality is sound. I would recommend this property to friends and family; I would happily stay here again. The only suggestion for improvement is to schedule a carpet cleaning. I stayed 4 nights, I enjoyed my stay.

Never stayed went to better motel.so out dated

The system was down delaying our checking and others behind us.
I was disappointed that the hot tube was not working. There was no communication either verbal at check-in or a posted sign.
The pool was nice though.
