You get just what you pay for.
The room was very nice, aside from a fair few places where it was falling apart, and the shower was a bit dirty.
The staff were overall helpful and answered my questions, however, there was a constant pressure to pay in cash and not with a card, which was very annoying and wasn't a preference I was made aware of prior to my stay.
Additionally I was offered a breakfast for an added charge, but for some reason this was a preperscribed meal, and I could not choose a different breakfast from the total restaurant menu for some reason, and I was charged above average prices for bottled water. It makes sense for the hotel to cut costs on these things, but for the price of the room I think I would have been happy to pay an extra 10 Euro for free water.

I would definitely consider Hotel GoldenGate again, thanks to its price point, but there are things that the owner and staff could do to make a stay far more comfortable, with minimal effort and cost.

This hotel's location is excellent for getting away from tourist mobs. The neighbor is quiet, historic and convenient to transportation.
The staff is excellent, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is excellent...coffee and food. Great value!

Confortable, near transportation, non-expancive at all compare to others, clean, people kindfull. Small good for couple or single not for family.

The place is dirty and rib off. No access to the rooms and you have to climb three narrow stairs. I got suck in rhe room and rbey charged for making dirty without reason and have to pay towels mjne.

Friendly staff, perfect for families you feel very welcoming every time you walk in, most of them speaks a little English, Leo speaks English fluently, he is a very helpful person kids used to like dealing with him Specially in the morning while having breakfast, one day my daughter wasn’t eating he played cartoon on his own phone to make her eat. the bald guy with thick mustache forgot his name used to give my daughter a high five every time we walk passed him, the room is so simple, small, clean there was no elevator but not a big deal we were in the 3rd last floor every single time we walked in with bags they helped us to take everything up stairs, thanks to Leo and the overnight guy for helping us getting our 8 bags down stairs when we were leaving.
Bunch of restaurants and groceries around, the public transportation is very close by.

Thanks golden gate staff for Making our 15 nights nice.

Good Budget Hotel Outside Center

The Hotel is well located for easy access to IST Airport or Bus Station, or anywhere in the City; with only a 300m walk to Tram line. Also, many decent eateries and small grocery market stores in the neighborhood. Rooms themselves are good size by Istanbul standards, renovated well, clean and furnished comfortably. Also enjoyed their Breakfast. The Staff is very friendly and hospitable. We will return. Recommended.

Goldengate gets all my stars!

Although the bed linen was spotless, the room was very small and shabby. However, it was more than made up for by the wonderful staff! I arrived at 01.40 and someone was there especially to carry my luggage and sign me in, which he did with very good grace.

The restaurant is outside within a glass enclosure and faces the street. Excellent buffet Turkish style breakfast with friendly staff and elegant seating. I enjoyed watching the world go by and will certainly visit to eat there as I live nearby.

I had to stay overnight due to having lost my flat keys at security at the airport (much hassle and many people). I asked help from a gentleman I took to be the Goldengate proprietor/manager and, although he didn't speak English himself, he fetched someone (not hotel staff) who did. The then gentleman contacted a locksmith for me and acted as go-between to arrange for him to meet me at my flat. On my return, he then found a young man to accompany me to carry my suitcases up the six stories of my building (there is no lift). As I'm moving here I had a lot of luggage.

I couldn't have had better service or extra-service help at any hotel at all. In fact, I'm certain staff at a five star would not have been able to stop to help me even if they wanted to. I'm so glad I found Goldengate otherwise I can't imagine how I would have got into my flat as I don't yet have friends or contacts who could have helped.

NE VENEZ JAMAIS ICI !!!!!
Cet hôtel est à FUIR, je ne sais même pas comment il est encore autorisé à être ouvert et pouvoir accueillir des touristes, le personnel est sournois, parle constamment dans leurs langue face à vous vous concernant, réceptionniste désagréable et qui ne comprends pas l’anglais. Remet beaucoup en question votre parole, vous ne pouvez rien réclamez car ils auront toujours quelque chose à dire, personnel très têtu. N’en parlons pas de l’accès, pas mentionné que l’hôtel ne dispose pas d’ascenseur avec escalier très étroit ! Chambre très étroite ! Les murs sont fins nous entendons tout que ce soit dehors ou les chambres d’à côté ! Les draps n’ont jamais été changé, ils changent que les serviettes. Papiers toilette donné au compte goutte et en plus déjà entamé ?. La porte de la douche ne se ferme pas tout est rouillé, cassé … envier non fixé ce qui est très dangereux, hôtel non aux normes ! Mise à disposition d’un mini frigo et d’un bouilloire sans prise à côté … compliqué pour brancher 2 chargeurs … certains personnels vous réclame de l’argent pour de l’eau d’autre non … Il n’accepte que du cash et négocient pour pas qu’on paye en carte. Soucis avec les cartes à plusieurs reprise nous nous retrouvons à attendre devant la chambre, on demande par la suite à changer de chambre, le personnel refuse. Wifi non fonctionnelle. Hôtel horrible et délabré. Petit pt positif je tiens à remercier Nour pour ses petits dej parfait et sa générosité et son professionnalisme

Otele gittiğimde oda çok dar ve elbise konulacak kadar alan dahi yok wc de Peçete yok bir tane havlu konuşulmuş duş alsanız ikinci kişiye havlu yok su konulmamış odaya ve mini bar dolabı boş yatakları sürekli sallanıyor gıcır gıcır tmm çok lüks birşey beklemiyorum verilen paraya göre ama bundan daha az ödeyip çok daha konforlu yerler olmuştu baştan sona tavsiye etmiyorum

Vom ersten Tag war die Decke im Bad Vollwasser und hat die ganze Zeit getropft. Personal war nett und Zimmer getauscht aber zum Keller. Es gab weder Kleiderschrank noch Wasserkocher. Zimmer hat einen schrecklichen Geruch. Ich musste woanders übernachten. Bin im Zimmer 2 Tage von 7 geschlafen.

Ik had een fantastisch verblijf in Hotel Goldengate! De locatie kon niet beter zijn - perfect gelegen met gemakkelijke toegang tot het openbaar vervoer en allerlei bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. Het personeel was buitengewoon vriendelijk en behulpzaam, wat mijn ervaring nog aangenamer maakte. Ik kan dit hotel ten zeerste aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar comfort en gemak tijdens hun reis! Hotel Goldengate wij gaan elkaar nog zeker zien in de toekomst!

İnsanlar güleryüzlü yaklaşımları güzel ancak kaldığım oda çok küçüktü sıcak su yetersizdi. Oda soğuktu kalorifer çalışmıyordu klima ile ısınmak konforlu değildi. 1 gece konakladığım için problem etmedim ancak uzun süre kalmak isteyen misafirleri memnun etmek için kendilerini geliştirmeliler.

Obwohl nichtraucherzimmer gebucht wurde bekamen wir ein raucherzimmer, auf 'beschwerden' bzw. Wünschen wurde nicht eingegangen

Sehr dreckig.
Blutflecke im bett, auf wunsch wurde einfach nur das bett gemacht und nicht die bettwäsche ect gewechselt.
Sehr kalt, keine heizung.
Wände sehr dünn, man hört was in den neben zimmern passierte.
Toilettenpapier war nie reichlich vorhanden, sodass ich in der nacht auf klo ging und nichts nachfüllen konnte und wenn man auch keine taschentücher hat, dann ist man verloren.
Kurz gesagt, auch für 1 mio euro würde ich keine einzige nacht im hotel verbringen!!!! Wenn ich minus sterne geben könnte, würde ich das tun.

Otel'in konumu merkezi bir yerde. Hemen önünde otobüs durakları, büfe, pastane vb. var. Otelin kendi otoparkı olması büyük avantaj ekstradan otopark ücreti vermiyorsunuz. Otelin odaları gerçekten ufak. İş amaçlı yaptığımız seyahatte odaya arkadaşım ile sığamadık. Yan yana geçmek gerçekten sıkıntı. Bunun dışında odalar temiz ve modern. Dekorasyon güzel. Yalnız bizim kaldığımız 305 numaralı odada elbise dolabı yoktu. Kenara köşeye (tv'nin yanı veya kapı arkası olabilir) bir dolap şart. Kıyafetlerimizi çanta içinde yere koymak zorunda kaldık. Bunun dışında odada klima, buzdolabı, tv, sıcak su vardı. Kahvaltı biraz vasat ama iş görüyor. Çalışanlar ise 10 numara. Güleryüzlü ve her daim yardımcı. İngilizce bilen personeller mevcut. Buradan bize çok yardımcı olan otel personeli Zimbabweli Leo'ya selamlarımı iletiyorum.
Özetle: tavsiye ederim.

Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig und Metro in der Nähe

Bin jetzt das 2 mal da Hotel ist mur auf 3 Etagen sehr klein aber sehr sauber Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit Metro 50 Meter enfernt Mann kommt über all hin und Tram 5 min laufen das Hotel ist sehr ruhig und würde immer wieder da hin gehen

Det var störande med många bussar som stod precis utanför hotelen. Snälla personal såg till att allt går rätt till. Nära resturanger, metro och metro buss. Välfig bra brmötande av personalen.
