The room was really spacious and comfortable. The air conditioner wasn’t responding properly but it wasn’t a problem as it was a bit chilly.

The staff was helpful, there was an issue with the lights which they fixed immediately.

The hotel is at a five minute walk from a shopping centre area with plenty of restaurants and a tube station (Line 5)

Pool is closed, very old dark building and facility, they had a plumbing repair without notifying us so the water was running brown. Had to stay because I booked non refundable, and the location is central, but there’re TONs of other options steps away within the same price range. Won’t be back.

1st time in Beijing. Stay in GJYY Hotel because it has the great location the “Wangfujing” walking street just crossed the street. Dining and shopping around the areas. Staff are friendly, breakfast is delicious. Because the hotel is quite a bit old, the furniture needs to be replaced & room may need to get renovations. But overall it’s a nice place to stay.

The hotel is past its sell-by date. I believe it used to be a Crowne Plaza, but not much has been left since those days. Rooms are in definite need of updating, and there is a particular feel of neglect in rooms and public areas. Service was pleasant. Front desk staff were amicable, while at breakfast staff was fine but way too fast in clearing the tables while one went for a refill or something. Location, though, is fabulous. Pity that Wangfujing street lost its old charm, and is now just another street with famous brands lined up.

We could walk quite easily to some places especially for food or shopping. Older hotel with poor water pressure and a closed off swimming pool but some improvements could make this a great hotel.

Old charm, comfortable room, the staff are ok, but we loved Bob from concierge, he is so nice, friendly and helpful. Probably the best out of all the staff we met. Housekeeping guy on floor 6, Paul was also very nice. Mattress was nice but the pillows are super soft and not very comfortable. Our room remained cold throughout, even with the heating. We had to change room on the first day despite the hotel being a no smoke zone, ours stank of cigarettes. No problem though, they changed the room immediately. Very convenient location, lots of food places and super close to Jinyu Hutong Subway Line 8.

The rooms and location are the best part of the hotel.

The wifi doesnt work and you will need to use your data. I complained to reception few times but they kept saying that some websites are restricted in China. When I was using wifi in different locations in Beijing I had no issue whatsoever so it definitely is poor wifi in the hotel only.

Sadly we used all our data so it was rather expensive experience for us

This hotel was excellent. The location was within walking distance to Forbidden City. Conveniently located to a lot of shopping- lots of local food near by. It had an excellent buffet style breakfast with many local and American options. Was extremely affordable. We had breakfast there everyday of our stay. The staff was super friendly and many spoke English.
The only thing which isn’t a deal breaker- the bathroom tub and toilet were a little dated but the rest of the room was excellent and beds were very comfy.

This hotel is close enough to pedestrian street, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and metro station. In saying that, as Beijing is huge, still exhausted with this close walk. Price is good. Staff is friendly. Room is big. Quiet, safe and clean. Bathroom facilities need upgrading though.

Only a few hundred meters to huge pedestrian mall. Close to subway. Near major tourtist must sees! Incredibly helpful staff. Lots of small restaurants in the area. Very nice rooms. You can book AND PAY! for taxis at the hotel, so no drama with Alipay or currency exchange. Was there for a week and a half and would stay there again very happily! Was there for mix of business and pleasure and perfect for both.

Hotel location was amazing, not to far from train station, use grab to call a taxi (its like uber), lots of food option in surrounding area, including Halal resturant. Forbidden city is walking distance. Whats app, youtube, google, facebook, and other apps dont work in china, also most shops (and i mean most) dont accept visa, make sure to have we chap or ali pay downloaded and ready, or take out cash from lots of near by ATMs or Money exchange. Roads are really quite becuase most cars are electric. Hotel room nice and clean, hotwater in shower is fast, TV all chinese channels. We booked a private car ro great wall of china, you can do a tour which is cheaper but wont have to option to return when ever you like.
Make sure to have translater ready on phone, most dont speak english.

Lamento no recomendar este Hotel, muy descuidado, sucio de mal trabajo al limpiarlo, no sirve el a/c, lo reportamos y vinieron a arreglarlo pero solo nos dijeron que no era temporada de usar a/c y nos abrieron la ventana y luego trajeron un ventilador, el baño lo trapeaban con un trapeador apestoso que hacía oler todo el cuarto a orín, el personal muy poco servicial. La comida regular, la ubicación excepcional. No lo recomendaría.

I booked the hotel because it used to be an excellent Crowne Plaza. The hotel is very different now. The standard of service was poor and the hotel facilities were disappointing. The wifi was only patchy and it was slow. The aircon made a noise but didn't actually lower the temperature in the room. I was provided with a fan which helped a bit but was noisy. The concierge and front desk couldn't tell me how long it would take to get to the new airport, and twice decline to order me a taxi. There was no room service. The dinner menu was quite strange, one sheet of paper, all the types of food all mixed up together on the menu. The breakfast included cakes being cut in half as if they were rationed. The orange juice was some kind of diluting juice. In my room there weren't any mugs or tea/coffee sachets. When I checked in, Reception gave me 7 packs of toothbrushes and two combs - for one person and 5 nights - mysterious! My room was a bit dilapidated, with the light socket in the bathroom not fully connected to the ceiling. A light socket in the breakfast area was also hanging down. It's a shame because the location is good but it's just not value for money and I'd not stay again.

when the reception seems not happy to see you and greet accordingly, you get a vibe that something is wrong. the elevator switch is broken and 2 elevators doesn't work. room has only fresh air and receptionist informed this is how it is during these months. it is sweltering inside the room. only a single comforter on bed and no sheets!!

I do not recommend this hotel at all. It should lose its Crowne Plaza flag. It is not clean, the staff are not helpful, they were unable to provide taxi service, and they try get you to buy services. We had three rooms for a party of 7 and each room had a different horrible smell. This was a truly cringe worthy experience.

The hotel’s biggest perk is it’s location; super close to Wangfujing Shopping district and walking distance from Tiananmen Sq and the Forbidden City. The hotel itself is severely outdated, and the hallways always smell like smoke even though the hotel has been nonsmoking for years. We are visiting in the fall, so it’s a little cooler. The room itself was extremely hot. We turned the thermostat down, but this did nothing. I eventually called the front desk and they sent the engineer to take a look at my thermostat. He mentioned that the thermostat is set to heater and his solution was to turn it off and unscrew one of the windows to let air in. For us it was a matter of deciding whether to settle for a hot room, or a cold room with the sounds of construction coming in brought the window.
