Reception in the check in they charge xtra for the IVA taxes that Expedia didn’t include in the price receive. The security box has broken , and every day I have to call the maintenance to open. Extend one day in the reservation makes doble of the initial price very sad.

Driving there you don’t need a rental - All taxis are 2 dollars driving around.
Excellent and convenient to 3 Storey mall and super restaurants around.
No beach sales people.
Calm feeling around.

Unfortunately, our first experince here was not good. We went to checkin and only 1 lady was working the desk. Waiting with a baby and 2 year old is not fun. Finally a second employee comes to help at the desk... This employee skips us even though we were next and waiting longer. So rude. Next day, we arent allowed to bring the breakfast to the room... Same day, there is a party at the pool til around midnight. Guests like myself do not appreciate all the noise when my kids are trying to sleep. Not what I was expecting for the cost.

We did like the cleanliness, safety, the room, views, location, warm pool, friendly staff...

Worst hotel experience I had in last 40 years of frequent travels.
Mantahost hotel is a party place and no place to have a night sleep.
Every night we stayed There was constant very loud music , sometimes ending at 2am!!

I have been in Ecuador for a month, and this hotel has been my least favorite. The staff does not seem to communicate well and is inconsistent in applying policies. The views are great, and the pool is nice, but the staff needs training and simplified processes. The rooms are also very sparse. I was surprised by the rating of this hotel on Expedia. I checked out as soon as I could, and I am glad I was only there for one night.

This wasn’t first time staying at Mantahost. The place is well kept though a bit dated. It feels more like a budget hotel than a high-end hotel. I think that fresh flowers in the lobby instead of plastic ones could go a long way. My score is due to the fact that I was very comfortable, the noise was very low or nonexistent, the food was good and the service exceptional. I’d definitely return.

Excellent staff service. Everyone was just amazing, room service, butler, reception, waiters and others. Thank you. Food is great but the hotel is kind of old. Beach at this time of year was not possible to use and lots of debris. Great view of the ocean.

When we originally checked in they had no rooms with balconies. Our second night the were able to move us..they handled it all while we were on a tour. Miss ecuador pagent contestants were on premise. Excellent Breakbast buffet..Chocolate cruissants to die for.

The hotel was clean, breakfast very good. Service was excellent. View from balcony was wonderful. Pool and sitting area was wonderful!! Felt safe parking in gated/guarded lot.
The only complaint would be there were parties til very late/early morning both nights we were there and that is fine, but guests should be told at booking and offered a discount price or different room or given a choice to book elsewhere as we didn't sleep well-very loud music til 2-3am directly off our balcony room.

Service was great from the moment I was picked up from the airport til the moment I was dropped off. Has cool amenities like infinity pool, pool tables ping pong tables. Breakfast was great and turns in to an affordable fine dining experience for dinner. Location was super convenient it’s super close to a couple of plazas with dining options and activities. And its close to the ocean too, the only downside is that you can’t go into the water but listening to the sound of the waves at all times was enough for me. Highly recommend!

The staff is very cordial and accommodating but don't expect service in the dinning room to be the same. You may get one cup of coffee but don't expect them to come back around again.
The beds are not what you would expect for the price and my last room had a shower head that was cracked and leaking significantly.
Please and I should say Don't use the mini bar, nothing is priced and they will charge you too much. Last time I had two bags of chips, a total of 8 candy bars and received a bill for $27.00, OUCH... But it is safe and the ping pong table is fun.

Listening to the surf lull us to sleep, waking up to ocean views with ships passing in distance...even occasional wake sittings.
Wonderful staff including those serving the delightful as a side breakfasts. Great proximity to wonderful resteraunts and short jaunt to top notch shopping.

Friendly Hotel and close to the Beach

Our stay at Mantahost was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. Even though English was limited to a few staff they were able to meet all our needs. Check in and out was very easy and you are offered a nice fresh juice upon arrival. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a nice variety. We had our evening meals at the hotel and our waiter Antonio helped to make a wonderful culinary experience. The food was exceptional and you must try their soup that is a beef bisque flambled in whiskey. This is by far one of best soups we have ever tasted. My favourite little breakfast bread was the Yucca Bread.....somehow they knew it and gave me a few to take on my journey with me....what a special gift! Never has any hotel been so personal to our needs. The infinity pool and area were very clean, the room as well with various complimentary toiletries. We highly recommend this hotel when you visit Manta, Ecuador. Thank you to all the staff!

Room was nice, great view of ocean. Restaurant breakfast was good, but our room service dinner was a complete waste. Overcooked pasta with unseasoned tomato sauce (I ordered Alfredo), and a hamburger with flavorless mystery meat. Bar drinks and service excellent. Road construction in the immediate area made it difficult to find the hotel.

We had a quick overnight stay before heading back to Quito. Had a wonderful corner balcony, reasonably priced with beautiful views. Unfortunately we only saw it after dark but room and balcony and view was amazing. Lovely Valentine's dinner and entertainment were going on beachside/poolside.
Wished we could have stayed longer.

Nice ocean front hotel and a great staff. The sound of the surf is very relaxing. Breakfast buffet is typical. Rebuilding the area around the hotel and the city of Manta is well under way and we had no trouble navigating around the area.

This is a solid, though a little low on character hotel. Reception area is bright and breezy and service was quick. The room was standard, but had a beautiful view directly on the Pacific Ocean. Breakfast was good. The surrounding area looks like it is set to become Manta's restaurant, bar and entertainment district but work is still underway...not sure if this work is due to the last earthquake or not, but it seems like it will be a good area. Can highly recommend Martinica, and Italian seafood restaurant about a 5 minute walk away.

Overall the stay was good. We were supposed to visit Manta back in April, but cancelled after the earthquake. We decided to go ahead with our trip this past week and we were surprised at how the city was coming along after the devastation. We were pleasantly surprised to have a shuttle waiting for us at the airport (which WAS still devastated from the quake - that's another story...). Check in was a breeze, but when we got to the room, I was a bit disappointed by the spartan appearance of the room. There was shampoo, etc. but the towels were old and worn, pillow were kind of hard and lumpy...bed was just ok. I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure and I do admit, I like a nicely appointed room - the bonus is a robe and double bonus for slippers. They had a nice turn-down service with wonderful chocolates and the housekeeping staff was really good about extra towels. The breakfast buffet every morning was a nice feature - especially since the hotel is located about 10 minutes from town and nothing else is open. The beach was disappointing - very rocky and difficult to walk in certain places. There is a TON of new construction -- I would say in 2 years Manta will be nothing like it was on this trip.
