We enjoyed our stay at the Stadshotell. The room was great overall, although it could use more counter space in the bathroom. Frukost was great, although you need to learn to make CRISPY bacon, not lumps of fat. Restaurant menu was outstanding.
You need a photo of Amal's most famous singer in the hallway: GUNNEL EKLUND, instead of all the blues singers who have no genuine connection to the city.

Lovely area to explore

Amal is a good location for exploring the lakes. There a couple of ok places to eat out, but not as many as I'd have liked. Definitely a base rather than a location. Hotel is in an older building and decorated sympathetically. Our room had plenty of space, but no tea or coffee making facilities.

Heritage history

My grandson and I came there to see where his great grandson parents were from. It is a beautiful landscape. People were very friendly. The hotel was wonderful. A lot of history in the town.

I would come back, but some renovation would be ok

The hotel looks very traditional and I have nothing against that, however, there were some patches on the wall probably to cover scratches, but not properly done, and the bathroom could DEFINITELY use some renovation. I could be sure it was clean, but it did not look fresh at all. Staff was super, super nice!!

Trevligt men dyrt!

Fin miljö o trevlig personal. Fick rum ut mot vägen vilket var mycket störande hela dygnet. Rummet va dålig planerat så man fick slåss med toadörren när man skulle in o ut från toa. Duschen blötte ner hela badrummet och det va fuktigt o obehagligt hela dagen på toan efter en dusch. Restaurangen på kvällen hade fantastisk mat men också ett otroligt överreklamerat pris. Det fanns inga priser på drycken som kunde väljas utan det kändes som om man tog betalt efter känsla. Väldigt dryg kypare!

Övernattning i samband med en hockeycup. Enda minus var att frukosten inte serverades förrän kl 8. Ingen frukost innan första matchen men åkte tillbaka innan utcheckning för en senare frukost så allt gott! Hockeyspelaren bodde på annat håll och fick frukost innan match.

Enda minus är avsaknad av kaffe tillgänglig dygnet runt i allmänna utrymmen som många andra hotell har. Det saknade vi.

Ett underbart stadshotell! Gamla detaljer i ett gammalt hus. Vårt rum var rymligt och sängen bekväm. Vid receptionen flera djupa fåtöljer där man kan sitta och ta något att dricka i väntan på att hotellets restaurang öppnar. Som serverade god mat kan tilläggas. Vi hoppas vi får möjlighet att återkomma.

Stort rent rom, med gode senger.

Stort rom, med veldig god seng og deilig sengetøy. Hadde ikke balkong eller aircondition. Vi måtte ha vinduet åpnet på grunn av varmen og vårt rom var vendt mot gaten som var overraskende trafikkert om natten.

Rummet var inte heller dammsugat. Tycker man kan förvänta sig att det ska vara rent när man betalar 1200 kr för en natt.

Historical and stylish hotel

Beautiful historical building, which have not been destroyed by unlucky renovations, as many similar places have. The rooms also are very stylish and in keeping with the period. Front office and breakfast staff could maybe have been interacted a bit more. A simple good evening or good morning can go a long way. The room was flooded with sun from very early morning, as the blackout curtain only covered two thirds of the window. But still all in all this is a great and majestic hotel, and we'd be happy to return any time.

Takk for veldig hyggelig opphold på Åmåls stadshotell. Hotellet var akkurat som vi hadde håpet: Gammel, god atmosfære, store rom. sjarmerende og stilsikre felleslokaler. Midt i sentrum av en. by som var mye mer sjarmerende og vakker enn vi hadde forestilt oss. God frokost og utmerket middag. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake!

Jag hade en fantastisk matupplevelse på hotellets bakficka på kvällen. Vilken mat!!

Frukosten var jättefin och guldstjärna i kanten för en krämig äggröra, ett jättegott fröknäcke och nötbrödet som fanns.

En bra start inför julen.

Det är alltid lika mysigt att bo på Stadshotellet. Det bästa är att bo någon våning upp för att komma längre från gatan.
Ett hotell med den gamla mysiga känslan i en stad som är en pärla vid Vänern.

Ett trevligt hotell i riktig \" stadshotellstil \", med stor entretrappa, högt i tak och med fina gammaldags taklampor.
En mycket bra frukost serveras och personalen är väldigt trevliga.

Fornemt og staselig hotell.

Veldig flott og fornemt hotell. Man føler nesten man er satt 100 år tilbake i tid. Allikevel er comforten ivaretatt med fint bad , godt renhold og gode senger. Veldig god frokost og hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening. Også veldig fin lokasjon midt i byen, og med parkering rett utenfor.

Vi brukar ta in där, och så kommer vi att göra nästa gång också. Lite mycket folk på frukosten vid 0900 så det blev lite bullrigt. Men vi var ju faktiskt färdiga så på sätt och vis så spelade det ingen roll för oss.

Härlig känsla att bo på ett riktigt traditionellt stadshotell med gedigen service och en mysig ”bakficka” på kvällen med trubadur och Lasse som såg till att vi trivdes. Vi var alla riktigt nöjda 👌

Bra anrikt hotel. Bra frukost. Men bakfickan deras restaurang hade vi en usel matupplevelse. Välj inte deras hamburgare för 178 kr typ… kändes som halvfabrikat med ej hemma gjord tryffel majonnäs sedan slängs det på ett sallads blad och tomat överst toppad med torkad lök.. sämsta jag nånsin smakat på… och en dålig mage på det…
