Reasonable stay but not to the standard promised. Our room was large with sea view (through trees and past golf course) but it was quite dated.

Breakfast was very poor; food generally was mediocre and over-priced.

Hot and cold jacuzzis in spa were not working (allegedly due to maintenance but no work was being done).

Most poor was that one of the four restaurants was not open; we were told that they only open it when they have enough bookings and that it serves the same food as another restaurant (this is not what it says on their website).

This hotel is advertised as 5-star but in reality feels closer to a 3-star property.
We arrived late in the evening and received no welcome drink. When we asked to buy a beer, we were told it was too late, and staff appeared confused about whether the bar or restaurant was open. Being told to “run fast” to get a drink before the licence ended was not the level of service expected from a luxury hotel.
The room was very outdated and poorly maintained. It felt unclean, with visible dust throughout, mould around the bath and shower, unreliable hot water, and extremely worn towels. Maintenance work was badly done, with paint and sealant marks visible. The minibar was locked, which was inconvenient.
The hotel itself is in disrepair, including the swimming pool, which had missing tiles, rotting wood, and cloudy water. There is also a serious crow problem — they swarm the property, bathe in the pool, steal food, make constant noise, and even fly into rooms.
Food and dining were another major disappointment. We ate once at Canacona restaurant and did not return due to poor food quality. We also went to Cortaz restaurant. It appeared dirty and poorly organised, with unattended dirty dishes and confused staff, so we avoided eating at the hotel entirely.
Although the gardens are beautifully maintained, the private beach lacked basic facilities such as sunbeds and felt disconnected from the hotel. This is more like a 3 star hotel not 5 star at all.

Not as clean as expected. Billing experience was terrible. They admitted inaccurate charges and returned 11K in cash, but that took a lot of waiting. Not only one, all three rooms were charged extra knowingly, seems like a regualar practice.

Waste of such a beautiful property! Slightly dated but has a great potential if managed well!
The staff is untrained and unprofessional!
I came here for a quiet time after 4 days in Taj panjim and I am not impressed at all!
The rooms are decent size but was not cleaned well before I checked in! The bedside tables were sticky with sugar syrup! didnt get hot water on both days!
The breakfast spread is decent but poorly managed! The live station are in the center of the room with the other spread surrounding it! So guests wanting eggs or fruits have to be in same line!
The glass water bottle was not cleaned and had black marks at the top! Pic attached!
The staff at the reception didn't know what time the restaurants are open when I wanted to go to OKO for dinner, he said it's open only for lunches whereas someone else told me it's open by the time I had a boring dinner at their Canacona restaurant!
The bar was empty which is understandable but serving a 2-3 days stale wine is not acceptable! The guy did not bother to open a new bottle for a glass of wine! Other 5 star hotels would have gone over and beyond!
Equally untrained staff at the reception and all restaurants! The shack had no shack vibes! Ordered chicken cafreal and the chicken was not fresh!
Ordered pasta for dinner in room and they sent french fries!
Therapy room in the spa had no spa vibes! Just a room with a wobbling massage bed in the center!
I regret not reading the reviews prior to booking!

The property is beautiful. You can't fault the attention to the grounds surrounding the hotel.

However the stay was below average for me. The rooms are dated and contained mold in the bathrooms. The front desk staff were very rude and unwelcoming. One even called me at 7AM in the morning to query something (not the wake up call I asked for). Upon checkout, I asked to leave left luggage for a few hours. The front desk agent seemed put out by this request and pointed at some non-descript location in the distance and threw a luggage tag at me.

The restaurants were average. The food quality at restaurants in nearby Palolem beach were far superior and cheaper. The breakfast buffet was like a circus.

Tip to the management - highly recommend you update your keycard system. In modern hotels, the keycards would not be deactivated if you hold it close to your mobile phone. The hotel grounds are huge and it became tiring walking backwards and forwards to reception to keep reactivating my keycards.

I recently stayed at the Lalit. I was blown away by the stunning beach. The rooms were outdated and needed modernisation, but they were clean and functional. However, the highlight of my stay was definitely the beach. The sand was soft and the water was crystal clear. I was able to relax and soak up the sun all day.

The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure that my stay was as pleasant as possible. Meraj was super helpful and couldn't do enough for us. They also provided a good breakfast selection every morning which was a nice touch. The Golf course and Gym were amazing with a decent set-up. The restaurants were ok in the hotel and had a good selection of food for different dietary requirements.

In conclusion, while the rooms at this hotel are in need of an upgrade, the breathtaking beach more than made up for it. If you're looking for a ok hotel option and don't mind sacrificing some amenities for a fantastic beach experience, this hotel is worth checking out.

No checkin procedures like welcome drinks and warm greetings was done. It was a cold welcome.
The property had only one golf cart/ buggy which was odd considering the massive area and Incase guests wants a tour. We had to wait 10 minutes each time if we needed a beach drop or a property tour.
Apparently they don’t allow your personal cabs to come in, they will wait outside the gate and a buggy will drop you there, which again is an inconvenience.
Rooms are specious, and comfortable- we booked sea view suite. The overall experience otherwise was good, including private beach and shack(sea side restaurants) in room dining, and breakfasts options.

The beach is only the usp of this property. Garden and golf area is well maintained. But food is not good as well as rooms are big but not well maintained. There is a smell inside the room, no ventilation vent in the washroom, switch boards are not working and the list goes on! So if you want peaceful and calm beauty than it’s for you but food taste is not good and price will burn your pocket!

Lalit is a great property in terms of location and maintenance, grounds.So what is bad. Food. The Concuna served such average breakfast. Food at their beach shack Cortus was bad. I a stone twice in my mouth. Only good restaurant is Pan Asian on first floor. There was nothing in the evening..no live entertainment..nthing actualy to do if you decidee to stay in property. Also checking and billing are a mess. I think they are understaffed. Great property poor management

Beautiful traditional property in South Goa

Huge property beautifully decorated and full of greenery everywhere.
Pros : Rooms (Garden View) are well decorated and very specious and big in size with working desk and sofa sets.
a-la-carte food every item ordered was great in taste although a bit expensive due to room service charges.The beach is very clean and pristine, beach sack is also good for sitting long hours in the evening.
Cons : Complementary breakfast spread is not up to the mark and the quality of bacon etc are not good.
The bathrooms needs a bit of renovation, no shower curtains, water leaks from the shower enclosure

Bad Service not accepted from The Lalit

We had booked for 1 night , check in expirence was horrible , not even a welcome drink was offered nor a bottle of water...
our room was upgraded which was a pleasant surprise ,
we time and again had to call the operator for a buggy as which was never denied but never reached us even ..

the whole hotel was only concentration of some wedding group and other guest were treated neglected ... We also have paid for the 2rooms we booked and this kind of service is not acceptable.

i need to mention that there was vehicular movement on the lawns of the hotel of the wedding group which put our kids to risks..i had to rush to the front desk and inform Ms Mamta about the same but sadly nothing was done and as per her it was normal .
requesting the management to look into this as its totally un acceptable

I loved the beautiful and spotlessly clean swimming pool, and the close proximity to the beach. The food was EXCELLENT. The hotel wasn't crowded, and even the children of the other guests were well-behaved, making for a pleasant and peaceful time. The price was a real bargain, too. What a great vacation! I plan to return in March when my relatives come to visit.

Let's start with the positives:
- Beach is really nice - better than the ones we saw in other resorts in South Goa; hotel's own shacks/benches plus a few other vendors'; clean beach; semi private so wasn't crowded
- Staff is courteous and wants to help
Now, the not-so-good things:
- Old property; needs better maintenance and bit of renovation
- Booked a sea-view family suite; furniture in the room was old and squeaky; water from the washroom seeping through
- Staff was courteous but super-slow; e.g. the tv stopped working one evening, we called at the reception/house-keeping, then again reminded them in the morning, electrician came at 4pm the next day when we were resting in the room (kept pressing the bell till we opened the door)
- Food (in-room dining) not good in taste, though super expensive (one vada pav for Rs. 600+)
- Breakfast was ok-ish; though most of the items were not kept hot and the staff took forever to refill; also, same 4-5 main items get repeated everyday. Also, the staff will come with a tab in hand every single day (!) and ask you to fill it while you are eating

Exceeded Expectations - As Always

We've had an awesome experience at the Chandigarh branch, and with that in mind, I booked this property, for my first visit in Goa. Starting from scratch, we were lucky enough to have airport transfers included in our hotel booking, and that whole experience was a charm. We did meet the staff at the designated meeting spot, and were in a cab within no time. The drive was picturesque, winding down South Goa, with the driver sharing interesting tidbits and driving extremely well. The one down side to the property, it is a bit secluded, with nothing worthwhile in the walking distance, but that's the only major gripe we had. Welcome at the resort was exceptional, with courteous staff all around (all the staff that we came across was highly courteous throughout the stay, greeting everytime they crossed and assisting ang going beyond their way for that exceptional service). The welcome drink was tasty, the check in was a breeze and they did let us know the major highlights of our stay. The property is spotless, not a thing out of place, lawns maintained, rooms clean, pool shiny, and to top it off, the beach was the cleanest one till date that I've been too! That includes beating some good beaches from Thailand. Crystal clear waters and not a single bit of mess on the beach (which I observed was always being cleaned in the morning). No bad smells, no stray animals, nothing bad in place. Cut off due to character limit, awesome place, must visit. Highly recommended!

This was a stunning and safe facility! We absolutely loved staying here. It's an ideal space for a beach vacation. The only downside it has so much to offer don't forge to leave and check out the Goa charm surrounding the facility. Best & biggest resort to stay in Goa

Best Resort to stay in Goa, We stayed for 7 days, the resort is a massive 85 acres property, well maintained clean and green, with ponds, landscape gardens, private beach, well equipped gym, kids room and a massive swimming pool with very courteous and humble staff, the food was delectable. Outside the resort you have some small shops, food joints, bike and car rentals. My wife forget her hand bag near the reception at check-out, we would like to specially thank Duty Manager Mr Darren for sending her hand bag immediately by a special Taxi to us at the Goa airport. Some disadvantage is the resort is about 1.45 Hours drive from the Goa airport but the travel time is worth the wait, the main course food serving sizes are smaller than regular 5 star hotels that i have experienced.

It’s a good property but the quality of buffets was not very good. The cut fruits were probably stale and I had severe gastro enteritis. To add to the vows there was no medical help in house . Even the doctor on call was also not available. He did talk to me on phone but asked me to go to a local rural clinic on my own. I feel such a big facility should have a in house medical room with basic facilities like ECG, BP etc. and the food should be checked by a dietician for quality control. It may turn serious otherwise as I myself am a Cardiac Surgeon.

I may just have been unlucky but....
I dont expect the bathroom to be filthy in a 5 star hotel as I expect the shower to drain. All little things but there were so many it started to grate. The television was static and pointed at the sofa not the bed. Every bill was printed so light it could hardly be read. Was that because the booze was silly expensive or they tried to charge me for dinner twice or just coincidence. Maybe the bartender did have to start a disco in the EMPTY bar when I am trying to have a business conversation with a colleague As I say nothing major and I may have been unlucky but I left feeling I had been violated. A huge pity as the location is idyllic and the rooms massive. The staff were very pleasent

This place is a mess, No upkeep, No service.
Such a huge hotel can't even manage breakfast in low season with 2 restaurants dedicated to this purpose. We had to stand in line for our turn as if we were staying in a dorm. We gave up and went elsewhere.
Our TV did not work, had to complain 4-5 times after which we gave up again. No one came to fix it.
The place is falling apart and it looks like they don't have the resources to fix it.
Once can easily be deceived by looking at the images over the internet.

Old hotel trying to live off its Brand Name

Avoid this if you can. We had booked a garden facing room with spa discounts from Expedia team and upon checkin the nightmare started.

There was no welcome drinks or greetings (even a 3 star hotel does that) and the check-in staff simply didn't care. The room given wasn't a garden facing and when we called the front desk about it, they said they'll get back to us (which they never did).

The Spa visit was average and they still charged the full amount, even when I had specified that we've the 15% off from Expedia. The food is average at best and one can find the hotel guests visiting the restaurants outside the resort from Day 2, which we did too.

Most of the staff don't care about guest's requests and there were more than 1 occasion where we had to call 2-3 times before a request was done. Once we were locked out of the room and had to wait 10 min before the staff showed up (called 3 times), another time they simply refused the electric kart service saying its not charged.

Check-out was a miss too, as they 'overcharged' us and I had to correct it. The manager was unapologetic (except of the standard Ctl+c , Ctl+V' type of reply 'pls give us another change to show how good we are', when i complained later.

Expedia team was helpful and issued a voucher for this disaster.

A 3 star experience at a 5 star price tag. enjoy!

We were 5 families traveling together... Overall stay left much to be desired.
The hotel desperately needs maintenance, pool has tiles coming off, in-fact one our friends ended up cutting herself on the leg which led to serious bleeding. what was surprising was that the hotel did not make any effort to fix the broken area for the next 3 days we were there. Clearly they have given up.

The food options are very limited and the quality of buffet is extremely poor. Any customization/special request leads to an hour long wait time even in non-peak season. The staff does not really understand how to deal with anything beyond their normal course of work (very limited exceptions)… some of them even had a problem with simply smiling. The food was super expensive when compared to similar quality resorts, a basket of 3 small chapatis costed close to Rs.500 so for a 4 day stay we ended up shelling out Rs. 15,000 just for food for 2 adults and a child. The resort really milks the fact that there are no other options around.

All in all the experience was extremely ordinary and not even close to what you would expect for a allegedly 5 star rated property. They should lose a star for badly maintained property and another one for uninspiring service. A 3 star experience will be a generous review for them.

Don’t expect it to be a 5 star

They need to train their staff on customer service. Not maintained well and food is average. When I opened the tap there was dirty water and when we complained to the staff they said let the water flow for sometime🤔. There was water leakage in my room from the ceiling and when we complained nobody even apologized. They asked us not to use the rest room for 1.5 hrs which didn’t make sense. Moreover, there was a guy called Vaibhav who should be sacked. They changed our room and no apology for the inconvenience caused to is. The new room had a queen size bed instead of king size. Vaibhav kept on arguing but not even a single word of apology. Very bad attitude this guys showed. Spoiled our one night.their service staff can’t even speak english.

Nice property but highly money minded management

The hotel property is nice and big but hotel, I guess, is short of staff. The housekeeping is not upto the level one would expect from hotel of this level. The hotel management is extremely money minded. They try to make money in every damn thing and that too at unthinkable rates. E.g. when you go to swimming pool in such hotels, tubes are provided by hotel whereas they expect you to buy them here. The hotel has bicycles which are available on rent, how much? ₹250 per hour. In Goa one can rent a bike at ₹400 per day and these jokers charge ₹250 per hour for a cycle. Their motto is simple, make money on every possible aspect. My stay in Marriott in Belgaum was much more pleasant than one in Lalit.

Will Stay Here Again!

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The facilities are excellent and there is a very nice beach on the resort. It is in a very quiet area, however Palolem beach is 5 minutes away in a taxi or tuk tuk and there are plenty of restaurants and shops there. This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing break. If you want a lively area go to North Goa.
Only criticisms would be the hotel would benefit from better signage around the premises, as it is a very big site and there should be significantly more sunbeds purchased for the beach. I found all the sunbeds were taken every day, typically by selfish people who left all their stuff on the sunbeds whilst not being present for hours at a time! However it was no real problem as i was bale to hire sunbeds of one of the beach stalls,

Great hotel, nice quiet private beach

This hotel is stunning in portuguese architecture. It is huge. The gardens are huge and beatiful, really interesting designs. Backs right onto the golf course and a private beach, which is nicer than all neighbouring beaches. My criticisms: pillows - I can't stand those soft saggy pillows, but that's my preference. 2 - there is confusion on the beach as to which lounges are the hotels all local beach shacks, and people shouldn't be able to somehow 'book' the day before, or leave their towel on a lounge all day. The hotel should get more sun lounges! Aircon fans worked, showers were warms, all the rest of the hotel was great. One morning I found a croissant with a bit of mould on it - so perhaps the F and B Manager should watch that. Also it takes a while to get eggs at the station, perhaps have scrambled or fried eggs ready, like other hotels? Just a suggestion. But in total - your best bet on this south side of Goa, a really stunning, relaxing resort, and what fabulous value at the moment.

Hotel Staff Was Overwhelmed by Too Many Guests!

We arrived just as a large party was leaving.
It took the staff 2 days to clear up mattresses, beds & garbage from corridors.
It was quite off-putting.
For breakfast next morning we had to stand & wait for 20 minutes!!!

5 star relaxation and stress relief!!

Comfortable well equipped rooms, great layout combining sports / recreation facilities (although these come at a small extra cost).
The spa facilities were excellent as were the massages!
Good location for local bars and beach but transport needed to venture further into Hua-Hin and surrounding area's.
Choice of restaurants with good staff and amazing food.....but....bar staff and pool waiters need to be 'educated' on customer-relations and service!

close to the beach, warm staff. Although the food prices are a bit high the stay was relaxing with nice clean and huge rooms. People who want to relax and do nothing else , this is the best place to visit. On the other hand if you are looking to roam around in Goa, i don't this is the apt place.

Food is good but highly priced . Breakfast buffet is something they might to work on. Put a little more variety on the table instead of the same dishes being served every morning.

The beach that the hotel maintain is clean and secluded. Beautiful property overall.

Great stay and awesome hosts!

Vast, peaceful and secluded from the busyness of Goa, The LaLiT is an impressive property. The staff is friendly and keen to help without second thoughts, they made my son's second birthday very memorable. The festive dinner on the eve of Christmas was an great experience. The beach, the pools and the parks are clean and very well maintained. Choice and quality of food is good. I would love to return to The LaLiT very soon.

It's worth it

Suprisingly the check in took much longer than usual. The room service was ordinary. But what made up for our holiday was the property, it's beach, the energetic pool, delicous luncheons at canacona served by the ever smiling Pratap Pandey, and not to forget the sea facing quiet and peaceful dinners at Sirocco. Wouldvalso like to compliment Sourav and Pradip serving us at The Sea BQ, and chef Krishendu at Cortas

Great, friendly staff that are very welcoming. Loved the yoga class we did, the teacher was great and spoke good english. Externally the resort was beautiful and the lobby on entrance was very impressive.

We were disappointed with the food and found it quite expensive for the quality of it.

The spa could do with a renovation.

Would be nice if there were no stray dogs in the resort.

Paying to use the wifi and the snooker table was disappointing. I haven't stayed in any hotel in the past few years where i've had to pay for internet access and wouldn't have expected this from a 5* resort.

Great hotel a bit faraway !

First of all just know that this place is nowhere close to Goa and any city. It is almost close to Karnataka border, And about 35 Kms from Karwar. It is literally out of nowhere.

The beach is nice and well maintained and the food was alright. But the activities in and around were so so. The bicycle ride was 300 Rs per hour and such.

Massive rooms, amazing pool n beach - must visit

I stayed with my wife and new born baby 3 months old for 4n/5d at the sea view facing rooms. The hotel was nice enough to arrange for a complimentary pick up n drop in their private car for my family since we were accompanied with a child and baby maid. They also made special arrangements like the crib and stuffed toys in the room and took great care of the room cleanliness through out our stay. We stayed in 2085, The room is over 500 sq ft with a pool and beach facing view which was perfect.

We took the all meal package during our stay and the food was satisfactory with a good variety of cuisines on all days

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating to all requests including medicine pick up from a nearby chemist. Although i must mention the staff training was not at par with Hyatt or Taj and could use improvements specially across junior staff.

The only negative points if i must mention (1) the distance from the airport which is a good 80-90 mins but if you are ok with that, the property is definitely worth a visit. (2) complimentary wifi is actually only for 1 hour a day which was unexpected

Special thanks to Anurag (fnb), Sebastio (dining room manager), Preet (front office) and Esha (golf) for going out of their way to make our stay super memorable.

Well looked after property and beach

Hotel insisted that I had`nt paid inspite of showing them proof and my insistence. I was there for two nights and everytime I asked they were vague and noncommital. I made a scene and of course it turned out that they were too lazy to check. WSill never stay with this group again!

Good property, Great location, service lacking

The property is huge and really good. Its well maintained and clean. Though the service is wanting and infact till you don't complain they are nonchalant.

To give you an example; I went to their beach shack for dinner and after dinner I was asked to fill in a feedback on a iPad. Now the lady that gave me the iPad stood right next to me and would tell me what I missed a certain field. She wouldn't leave and also told me not to press submit. I filled in what i though was pertinent and gave it back. I then got an email with a copy of my feedback and I noticed that the fields i had not filled in were marked to full marks.

When I complained about the service and this I was then treated well and the service improved. But my point is that one shouldn't have to do this to get good service.

Great property once.

For some hotel chains, job is done well only when a property is at the project stage. However when it comes to operations, excellence isn't in their DNA. This place is a classic case of the problem.

When at project stage, every chain as top management, external experts involved in creating and hence they do god job. Only good chains carry it forward with basic fundamentals of customer service for delight which is essence of hospitality industry.

Lalit lacks in the fundamentals and probably thinks that great backdrop is the winning formula.

A night at the Lalit

I'd booked a room for my guests at the Lalit for 1 night. As they were arriving late at night, I went over earlier in the day to pay for the room, confirm the guests names & asked the staff to give them a printout regarding gym rates when they checked in
The reception staff told me they would update all the information on their 'system' .
However, when my guests arrived, the duty manager was unaware of all the information I'd provided and so called me at 2,30 at night to confirm the same. I did & then asked him to let me know why this wasn't updated earlier that day cause I'd done that in order to avoid being woken at 2.30. They have still not responded days later & also still not provided the gym information as requested. The restaurant : my guests ordered a black coffee & got a milky coffee.
It's a nice property, but the service is seriously shoddy for a supposedly 7 Star hotel. It's a pity.
