We booked private villa with swimming pool and two rooms. The room is spacious but the facility is out of date. Water for shower is low pressure, event no water when taking shower. A lot of mosquitoes! Electrical cracker keeps turn off so often. Breakfast buffet is good but not many choices. Staff is friendly and helpful. We also have body massage, be advised no private room for each person. Location is good to visit places and closed to the dock.

The room was spacious however a bit of wear and tear started to show. I am not too sure if it was good value for money as nothing is walking distance as well. Staff is friendly and helpful but as soon as you lock in any activity or even sign the hotel stay, they have a policy of non refunding cancellation that makes you feel trapped. Indonesian food was good, western food option not as good.
I stayed for a couple of nights so overall okey.

Beautiful place to stay with a fantastic pool and views. The restaurant leaves something to be desired, but otherwise a great stay. We did note that the room servicing was a bit lackluster and things like toilet paper were not topped up. There seemed to be no such thing as hand towels and face cloths. Restaurant does not charge back to room, so must pay at the time. Plenty of space in the rooms which was great. Pool was the best place to be.

I’ve slept on softer ground, also he’d to be extremely careful in the pool decking as it is coming apart, loose boards everywhere, upon arrival I had to take a shower immediately as it was a long hard day, I get out of the shower and no towel was available other than the floor towel. I learned to only book for 1 night in the future and extend it if property is ok .

Nice place on the hill. Good sea view from our room and from the infinity pool. Nicely kept garden. The rooms furniture cupboards etc. basic, Large rooms. Very friendly reception staff.

Loved the pool and the view,the food was alright. The place looks a bit sad especially the bathroom,towels didn’t look good and we had no hot water. I wouldn’t return here. Not worth the money. We didn’t get to sleep much as we could hear music and prayers at 4 am, it was very loud.

I’m going to start with the good. Best pool view I’ve ever experienced. Rooms are nice size.
Now with the bad.
1. WIFI literally is the worst. Every time your device goes to sleep, you need to sign back into the wifi. Our specific room wifi didn’t work.
2. Water pressure was terrible. Barely a dribble from the faucet in the bathroom. Shower didn’t have much warm water or pressure. Key word is warm not hot.
3. There is no way to not have the walkway light outside the bathroom window shine in and Illuminate the room at night.
Over all it was enjoyable but I’m not returning unless all I wanted to do is stay in the pool.

We had a nice stay at Semabu hills. They had a free shuttle pick up and the guy was ready with a sign right when we got off our boat. We were able to leave our bags and go to adventure for the day. The rooms were nice, what we loved the most was the infinity pool with a great view! The free breakfast included a lot of food.

The hotel is quite average but nice for the island. We stayed in the top floor suite. It was ok. The bed was dec entry comfortable. The bathroom needs some work and is quite dark. The breakfast was very weak. I am a vegetarian and there was little option for me and no substitute for Dairy which is odd in this part of the world where so much is organic and \"vegan friendly\". The pool was beautiful and the view was amazing. I liked having a sitting area.

Perfect Oasis in this tiny island🏝

Semabu Hills Hotel is the very best hotel to stay at in Nusa Penida island in Bali. It’s on a perfect hilltop over looking the ocean. The customer service is just perfect. The rooms are huge and spotless. The hotel restaurant is fabulous with great outside sitting area overlooking the ocean. It has a huge infinity pool!!! The balconies are huge overlooking the pool and ocean. Perfect to sit outside and watch the sunset. Each balcony has the most beautiful hanging plants that are perfect for picture backdrop!!! Totally amazing
Nothing to really do in the area outside the resort. The front desk can arrange tours for you at any time for great price upon request. After spending the day exploring the island, it was wonderful to come back to this oasis to relax. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nusa Pineda Island. Totally worth it

A beautiful hotel, stunning views and a lovely pool. Staff extremely helpful even went down to the village to buy me plasters. Food at restaurant was excellent especially breakfast. Only things that were vaguely negative was the shuttle was expensive if you didn’t want to go to the free stops (port and mini mart). Also they organised snorkelling trip for us which was very touristy and not very good snorkelling - not really the hotels fault but just something to note. But overall had a lovely stay and would really recommend.

Fantastic infinity pool

The best part was the amazing pool were we spent 90% of our waking time.
The rooms look fancy on pictures but are old and the bathroom smells.
Restaurant was okay for lunch and dinner. Breakfast wasnt too good.

Pool and view of Mt Agung is very pleasing. Staff is very courteous. Sone cleaning issues needed to be resolved. Courtesy shuttle is excellent and accommodating. Car tour of Nusa Penida sights was easy to arrange with front desk.

You can't beat the infinity pool!

To be honest, we chose this hotel for the infinity pool. What we got was much more! The pick-up and drop-off at the harbor made our transfer to/from the hotel seamless. The property grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and was able to help us make phone calls and rent motor bikes. The rooms are large and comfortable. Overall the small size of the hotel is perfect so that it isn't overcrowded at the pool or restaurant. Lastly, the breakfast is gigantic and tasty! We stayed for 3 nights and tried to book another night, but unfortunately they were full – we understand why! If I return to Nusa Penida I wouldn't look for any other hotel, it has to be Semabu Hills.

Best views of Bali!

Best views and best pool on the island. After staying in some air bnb places we switched to semabu and loved it. Suites are huge and washrooms are well done. Never ran out of hot water. Call to prayer was a bit loud at 5am but you will hear that from anywhere on the island. Only two things we would note is that the curtains in the bedrooms are lighter in colour so you may wake up earlier with the sun shining in. Also as all of the pool and restaurant are outside there are some fly’s, at times we opted to eat in our rooms. No biggie though. Would stay again.

It’s a beautiful location, seriously beautiful. The staff really needs training and supervision. Except for the wonderful young man at breakfast the rest were not at indonesian standard. In the past year I have spent 100+ nights in indonesian hotels. The staff here are not at the very high standards I have come to expect.

Wifi. Just be honest and say your wifi doesn’t really exist. It would save a lot of frustration.

Food pretty good. Enough selection.

Perfect peaceful retreat

If you want an amazing view, a beautiful room with a lot of space, peaceful our of the beaten path place look no further, this place is fantastic, staff is super friendly and helpful, food is delicious and with a good selection of dishes, they also offer free shuttle to harbor and to Crystal Bay, if you want to arrange a private tour around the island they have all the important spots cover, we highly encourage to do this if you have only few days (we stayed 3 in total) because the popular choice of driving a motobike requires more days as the island is quite big and if you dont know the roads you most certanly will spend a lot of time searching for the places, on top of that i have to say some roads are not for scotters, even after the island it's not anymore a very \"secret\" place the roads remain more or less the same. To finish ask for Dion if they are fully book for tours, this guy was our outsourcing guide and he was amazing, even local people seem to love him a lot. Really staying in this place was everything we expected from the trip and more.

The pool area was a very nice place to relax and sun bathe. We spent a lot of time there! The rooms are very nice as well. The air-conditioning is very strong which was great to have through Bali's heat. The little restaurant they have has decent food.

The one con of this hotel was the bathroom. It smelled like a sewer and there were so many flies in the toiled and shower area which is enclosed together.

Semabu Hill Hotel is the best hotel in Nusa Penida so far (Told by the local tour guide). The Pool view of Mount Agung is perfect. This place is really good for relaxing and sun bathing. There is only 4 choices of set breakfast, i love the nasi goreng indonesia. although it is not buffet but we love the breakfast there.

The view from Semabu Hills is amazing. All rooms have ocean views and you look over the ocean to Mt Agung. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much to ask. The rooms are big and spacious, however the rooms weren’t built like other hotels with attention to detail, but this did not affect our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Would love to stay again

More than any other place during our trip, we wished we had spent at least one additional night here; the value was definitely worth the price. Beautiful location, perfect for both sunrise and sunset. Great service, great pool, generous rooms with adequate power outlets and WiFi (if a bit slow). Good dinner at a reasonable price compared to other hotels, and a good breakfast was included. Moped rentals are available on-site and include helmets; just be warned that the backcountry roads are difficult with the deep potholes (sometimes literally half the road is missing due to potholes), so if you are not comfortable driving a moped on that, hire a car / driver instead. Free shuttle is offered from / to the ferry docks and the hotel can help you get public ferry tickets for much cheaper than the typical tourist rates found online. Would definitely stay here again next time we go to Bali / Nusa Penida and we recommend it to anyone.

Had such a lovely stay

We really enjoyed this place but some things they could improve on are: the sewage smell. It was horrible, the shower drainage, and some poolside customer service. The shower doesn’t drain so I had to use me feet and make sure the water didn’t collect. And at the pool, guests had to put up these heavy umbrella ourselves. Thank goodness there was another guest to help us. No one came to ask us if we wanted to order drinks or food. That would’ve been nice in the heat. The GOOD of this place: amazing view, great food, and beautiful rooms! I would definitely recommend staying here but I hope for the future, there are some changes.

Beautiful new hotel - per staff they opened for business late Sept 2017. Loved the infinity pool and view of the ocean and Mt Agung. Staff were superb. Food was delicious! Complimentary breakfast was plentiful. Our only compliant is the flies. There were too many to enjoy a meal in the restaurant so we ordered room service a few times. Hopefully they fix this issue.

Nice hotel with nice view of Mount Agung and the ocean. Hotel staffs were lovely. Only thing need to improve dealing with the flies during breakfast time. Room also need a clean up to rid all the small insects/bugs coming in. Other than these all are good.

Nice location but poor design!

Very nice view on each rooms, rooms are big, infinity swim pool, polite staffs. But somethings about the design are very poor, such as air-con are dropping water at the corridors, bathroom is not conveniences, no hangers for wet clothes, so many insects....!

Super attraktive Anlage, durchdachte Aufteilung der Villen. Einwandfreier Pool zum schwimmen. Bestellung zum Pool und zur Unterkunft waren schnell.
Die Unterkunft neben uns wurde während unseres Aufenthalts restauriert und gestrichen. Sah leider nicht nach schönem Ambiente aus.
Leider ist die Kommunikationssprache nicht mit allen Servicekollegen möglich, da begrenzetes Vokabular.
Bei Buchungen von Transportmöglichkeiten zu den verschiedenen Beaches aufpassen. Der Fahrer könnte womöglich nochmal Geld verlangen.

The view is absolutely worth visiting/staying. We stayed one night which was lovely. The staff was really kind and nice. We had a room with ocean view and balcony. Seeing the mountain of bali and the sunset from here was amazing. The room was really big and comfy especially the bed, balcony was very big as well, lots of space! Only disadvantage was the amount of electronic plugins and the bathroom. The shower did not work well since the water did not flow awaym could shower less than 5 min otherwise the room would fill with water. Toilet was smelly. For one night you can deal with it, but they should really fix that to become better. The food was good, we had dinner and breakfast here. They also kindly offered us a free ride to the harbour.
