We were just looking for a nice place to spend 1 night in. Unfortunately we received a not so pleasant welcome at the check-in from the receptionist who is apparently also the security guard…?
Also, weak A/C which is a big problem in the Israeli summer. Dead cockroach on the floor. The faucet in the toilet is covered in limescale. By the time we went to sleep - a bothersome repetitive beep sound from the reception (which our room was nearby) that went on all night long because of a broken smoke detector in one of the rooms.

Tel Aviv is a big city and it’s impossible to be centrally located to everything. We were very happy with the location. It was an easy walk to the market and to the beach.

Check-in was easy, the room was comfortable and the hotel arranged a taxi to the airport at the end of our stay, which was very helpful

Just a quick note, there is no elevator so you might have to walk the stairs to your room

Compared to many of the other hotels that we looked at in Tel Aviv I thought the accommodation was very reasonably priced

Nice hotel with promise

Montefiore 16 definitely has some of the looks of a nice hotel with a less pricey tag than some of the other bigger hotels in Tel Aviv. The rooms are all very well decorated and, overall, I had a very nice stay and would stay here again. There are some things, however, that would make the stay better for me (and possibly other travelers).

A few things that could be improved are:
- While there is a coffee machine and sugar, I could not find any milk in the 2 separate rooms I stayed in
- As others have said in reviews, check-in is only available during a certain time which isn't crystal clear when making the booking. While they are happy to give you a key code to enter the building to retrieve your key, it would be nice to have a welcome email before your stay to tell you this information rather than searching through the reviews
- There are bottles in the fridge, but there is no bottle opener
- Some attention to detail in the room would make it much better - such as cleaning the air vents (they were very dusty), cleaning the rain shower head, and ensuring that floorboards aren't loose or uneven.

I join the group of people who wrote about thin walls. I'm normally a good sleeper, but I was awaken every time when a person in next room came in late and used a key, took a shower, and when somebody was leaving early in the morning.
The room does need some repairs on the ceiling. Though fixtures are news.

Just want to say there was no wastepaper basket in the room so I had to throw my rubbish (and I had a lot) on the floor (room 15) which I found distressing. I wouldn't do it in my own home and was not happy to do it there.
They lent me an umbrella for 3 days which I appreciated

Great cdntral location right next to the Tel aviv stock exchange, with 10 minutes walk to the beach and 20 minutes walk to Old Jaffa. Can certainly recommend this place and the staff at your service and always very kind. Breakfast is not served in the facility but a voucher is provided, letting you to choose one of the 4 predefined cafe’s serving it.

Small and quiet. Room was small but very well designed. We arrived at 1.30am and had no trouble accessing the hotel and finding our rooms (the office closrs at midnight). The staff were very friendly and helpful. As our flight on the day of departure was late afternoon we checked out and were given access to a courtyard with complimentary tea and coffee.

Great Little Hotel for a Few Nights

This is a great little hotel for a few nights stay at a reasonable price if booked early. Room is small, but adequate for my needs. Offers free breakfast vouchers to 4 nearby restaurants. Internet was fine. Does not have an elevator. Friendly staff. Decent neighborhood in older city center very near Rothschild Street. 15 minute walk to the beach!! Would stay again.

Minimalist hotel

Minimalist hotel perfectly located in downtown Tel Aviv on the edge of artsy Neve Tzedec district. We stayed there for 2 nights at the end of a week long trip to Israel. The room was tiny, with minimal amenities, on the third floor without lift. I haven't seen any staff members except at the time of check in. Location, price and free WiFi compensated for missing services.

The hotel is central to all the places you want to go in Tel Aviv (restaurants, nightclubs, gay bars, etc). Staff is very friendly and accomadted us with any request as best they could. Happy to book again or recommend to friends traveling to Israel.

The hotel is located very close to the main areas of activity in Tel Aviv, and within walking distance of major streets and tourist areas. The only negative is that several of the rooms are located very close to the hotel's restaurant/bar, and at night, loud customers can make it noisy.

The room was very small for two people staying 6nights. The most annoying part about this place is the bin collection about 5am. Trust me it’s outside the window, it’s very loud for about 10mins. Every morning it woke us up. The traffic is very loud right outside the window. The wardrobe had two hangers inside it. It was open had no doors on the wardrobe. There was two small drawers under the two hangers in the so called wardrobe. There was no other place to put your clothes. We had to leave our clothes in our cases. Some days we got towels, other days we had to go to the reception to request towels. the floor was never cleaned as in sweapt and moped. The room was very dusty not cleaned in the entire time we were there. The female reception staff, were rude spent their time on their mobile phone even when you spoke to them. They never greeted you in the morning or evening when you approached them. When I complained about the room when we arrived the receptionist said I would have to pay extra to be moved. She also said that “Expedia only paid 385.00 shekels for the room” so l would have to pay more. There is no bar area just a coffee shop at the front which is very small, coffees and sandwiches are very good. The photos of the rooms by Expedia were not any thing like what was offered. Totally dissapointed with this hotel. They said it was a Boutique hotel, sorry just a B&B with a hallway in dark green colouring.

Perfect Boutique in Heart of Tel Aviv

For a business trip to Tel Aviv, I was looking to stay in the heart of the City while not having the feel of a stuffy, corporate hotel. The Al Boutique was perfect; meet all my requirements ... The rooms are well done, small, but perfect for one to two people (I was solo) and the staff was helpful. I'll stay again!

Cozy with some hiccups, mediocre overall

Small rooms. Staff could be more informed about the surrounding area. The room wasn't ready when we got there a half hour before check in and then we were given the wrong room. After a little pushing I got switched to the correct room I had paid more for. The on duty manager put me on the phone with the CEO and I was refunded the first night and they gave me a free breakfast.

This hotel was good. Not great. The room wasn't ready when we showed up at 3pm so the woman working the front desk asked us to walk around (outside while it was raining) for a while. She did apologize and afterwards... offered us some Champagne but I still thought it was a little to ask your customers to walk around in the rain. There were also raisins on the floor of our room when we walked in and the hallways were really dirty. All in all the stay was good and the lady at the front desk gave some good suggestions on where to eat but not a place you'd be excited about getting back to.

Small hotel close to all amenities

Upon arrival we were met by a very helpful and friendly staff member. All the other staff we met were just as nice. There is someone at the desk 24-hours, which makes it feel safer.
The hotel is small, in a new and well-maintained building very close to many shops, cafes, restaurants, post office and paid parking areas.
The rooms are small and really only useful for sleeping, but the beds are very comfortable and being set back from the street means there is minimal noise.
I would stay here again.

Trendy, freshly renovated hotel - Highly Recommend

This is a beautiful, trendy hotel very conveniently located in the heart of Tel Aviv (not beachfront). Rooms are very interesting and newly renovated. Great features with a very friendly and helpful staff. Only negative is that breakfast is served at a café about 5-10 minute walk from hotel, but the food there was excellent.

We found the hotel very conveniently situated.The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Avi.
They asked us each time they saw us if we needed anything.
They ordered our taxis and one to the airport.
They made us coffee's and lemon teas.
We had two sumptuous buffets from 3.0 pm on Friday.
Overall a lovely hotel

Great Staff Perfect Location!

The hotel staff was warmly welcomed me, they made sure i have all the inforamtion i need around the area, and gave me an invitation for "Kabalat shabat" which was a free coffe, alcohol and food, very delicious i must say!
the hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff carry our luggage when checked-in. my room view was to a diffferent building so i had to keep curtains close most of the time, but its a small price to pay for a big value hotel :)

This is a lovely hotel and in a very good location. The rooms are nice but do lack a desk or table if you need to work - I did. It is also the first hotel I have stayed in for years where there was no kettle in the room. The staff are marvelous and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a great wine bar opposite - Wine Bar 24. The hotel includes breakfast downstairs or at a great cafe just around the corner.

From the hotel, it was a 15 minute walk to the beautiful beach of Tel Aviv, a 10 minute walk to the Carmel Market and there were plenty of good eating places in close proximity to the hotel. The staff were extremely accommodating and the room was clean and comfortable.

Wish I could move in. As student, this was like 21 stars for us. But of course we had to keep a straight face in front of the concierge lest we seem...poor. One of the best aspects of our holiday was the 11 or so hours we spent in this hotel.

Small, new establishment; working hard for success

We had a one-night stay at the end of a long visit to Israel. The young staff was eager to please. We must have looked frazzled when we arrived; before we even got to the check-in details, the desk clerk had ordered capuchinos to be delivered to our room. The room was small but adequate with modern fixings including a wonderful shower. A small bar/lounge downstairs and a courtyard with tables and chairs behind the hotel. Breakfast was included, but required a short 2-block walk to a small cafe. Service there was great, and we had no limit on what we could order for our breakfast.

Great Hotel for the Price

Nice, clean (but somewhat small) room in walking distance to beach. Hotel staff is outstanding. Very friendly and helpful. I like to exercise but there is no exercise room and the hotel room itself is adequate but did not provide space to do things like sit-ups.

Room was clean but I spilled some coffee on the sheets and noticed that they did not change them. Not a big deal (my fault) but I was a little surprised.

All-in-all, for the money, this is a great deal!

However, the rooms are very small--such that there is no desk, or even desk-like surface in the hotel, and given I had a lot of work to do while I was there, this undermined my experience there. In addition, most of the rooms look out onto a brick wall. However, for a good location and a non-chain hotel, it is a good bet.

A Wonderful new boutique hotel in the heart of TLV

We just came back from Jerusalem and spent only one night on this brand new boutique hotel nicely and tastey decorated. Rooms are not big but all comfort is present including quality linen and towels. All is prepared to welcome you warmthly. Little front desk office with helpful and efficient staff. Breakfast is included next door.Excellent quality/service/price. We can not wait to return at Al hotel for our next longer stay in TLV next January 2014.

A real gem of a hotel....

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.,...
All the staff are genuinely super friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make us as comfortable and have the most pleasant stay possible. The rooms were clean and fresh and really well presented. Location is excellent and the breakfast was such a treat.

Thanks so much for having us and I'll definitely be back as soon as I can...

perfect location in a GREAT hotel!

We loved this hotel. The only downside was the room was a little small for the 4 nights.

Hotel in the best location

Compared to the other boutique style hotels this is the best price/performance. The location for trendy Parts of Tel Aviv and the cool restaurants nearby makes this the best location in tlv. 20 min walk though Neve Tzedek and you are on the beach. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Old hotel, not very clean.

1. Very kind staff, but you only saw them rarely.
2. Hotel in general very old and not in a good condition, especially bathroom was old.
3. Bad cleaning: bathroom not clean upon arrival, towels dirty, room in general a little messy.
4. Poor service, e.g. one night an alarm went off (false alarm), but no one turned it off until the next morning. I had to sleep with ear plugs.
5. Hotel is in a very nice part of town, but comparing the price to nearby hotels, I would not recommend this one.

Very good business trip

Very well placed, close to the Great Synagogue, easy to reach bus stations, Dizengoff center and Shouk HaCarmel. It's a quiet place and the people of the hotel are really nice.

Not again

I booked a room that I would have payed at the arrival but they took the money from my credit card without my knowledge. Then the room was really small and not very clean. The bed was very hard. The Hotel is old and need refreshment. But the location is good and the staff were nice. We won’t stay there anymore.
