Reception staff were welcoming, profession and kindly indulged the English in practicing their Spanish language skills. Clean fresh room with nice sea view. Limited pre-booked parking is available but expensive - free parking is available 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel, but one would imagine that in the summer it would be very difficult.

This hotel is right by the sea. It only takes a minute to walk to the beach. There's free parking close by. The town is very tiny but we ate at a restaurant right in front of the hotel and it was fantastic. Breakfast at the hotel was good, plenty of options. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, & the ac worked great.

This hotel is very well located in the tiny town of Tamariu, however is very overpriced for the condition of the hotel, its very clean but very outdated, we paid extra to have a sea view and our room was facing the mountain with a side “sea view”. Parking was really hard, they only have 9 spots available and we had to go park in the town main parking lot that was very full. It took us a while to park. Staff were really friendly and kind. But the rooms could use an update.

The surrounding natural setting is beautiful. The beach nearby is a public beach. No separate beach facilities from the hotel. There is a walking path along the seashore nearby. The breakfast buffet is ok and is held in their restaurant on the terrace which has a pretty view. Overall service is inattentive, sloppy and slow. The dinner in their restaurant was poor in quality, very expensive and extremely slow service. Waiters were rude, seemed very stressed out, and short with the guests.

Amazing location and vibe in general. Tamariu is small but beautiful. Be prepared to climbs stairs which for us was a non issue. My only complaint was the very rude hostess at the lower level restaurant. I was doing my best at communicating in Spanish. Granted my Spanish sucks but usually people appreciate you trying. She was very rude about it, so much so that we split and went elsewhere. Beyond that experience the place is great. I highly recommend hiking the waterfront train to Llefrac. Unreal and a real hike. Not a gravel path.

Stunning location. Our room was great but the walls are very thin and every movement can be heard from the room above and next door. Service in the bar is a little disinterested. Restaurant was just ok, nothing special. The restaurants over the bay were much friendlier and the food better. Cleaning of the room was superb. So, as I said, mixed.

Tamariu is a hidden gem. The albeit busy but secluded beach was excellent and incredibly child friendly. The only downside is parking which is maybe a 5 minute walk to multiple public locations. Hotel staff, amenities and location is hard to match.

We absolutely loved this hotel, from its stunning location to the wonderful friendly service of the staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Nice little restaurants/ tavernas along the seafront and we loved exploring this beautiful coastline and visiting places like the old town of Burgur for shopping and nice restaurants. We will definitely be back for a longer stay and would recommend this little gem of a hotel!
A few little things to improve our stay: we would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms as we had a lovely little balcony overlooking the beach which would have been good for a nice morning or evening cuppa but had to go down to collect a coffee as no room service. Also as it was high season, the staff were working flat out down in the bar and my son-in-law had to wait a long time to get his baby son’s bottles sterilised in the microwave- it would have been good to have access ourselves to a microwave without having to wait /bother the poor server who was very busy but still took the trouble to help him. A cheaper breakfast option would also be good- one morning we only wanted some toast and fruit for the baby but you have to buy a full breakfast so an option for adults who don’t want a cooked breakfast would be good.

Service at reception a disaster
I made a reservation for June 21 on Feb 24th with Hotels.com. On Feb 25th I received an invitation to reserve parking with no email listed. I found their email on their website and requested a parking spot be reserved. I never heard back but the email did not bounce back.
Upon arrival about 3PM, I was emphatically told that there was no spot for me. I looked up and showed the reception agent the email from them to me and the one I sent them. I was told since I did not have a confirmation number there was nothing they could do. A manager came out and told me the email they sent was automatically generated and they were probably all reserved four months in advance. He emphasized there was nothing that could be done. I was directed to park in an unsecured outdoor public lot a half mile away and with about a hundred stairs to return to the hotel. At no time did either person show any empathy, or express that they were sorry. They did not offer a ride back to the hotel from the parking spot, did not offer to compensate for the 3E charge, did not offer a discount on food or drink- nothing. They simply proved they had not issued a confirmation so that made them in the right. I told them that there would be no additional money spent with the hotel and I bought lunch, dinner, breakfast elsewhere. Upon arrival about 3PM, I was emphatically told that there was no spot for me. I looked up and showed the reception agent the email from them to me and the one I sent them. I was told since I did not have a confirmation number there was nothing they could do. A manager came out and told me the email they sent was automatically generated and they were probably all reserved four months in advance. He emphasized there was nothing that could be done. I was directed to park in an unsecured outdoor public lot a half mile away and with about a hundred stairs to return to the hotel. At no time did either person show any empathy, or express that they were sorry. They did not offer a ride back to the hotel from the parking spot, did not offer to compensate for the 3E charge, did not offer a discount on food or drink- nothing. They simply proved they had not issued a confirmation so that made them in the right. I told them that there would be no additional money spent with the hotel and I bought lunch, dinner, breakfast elsewhere. This hotel has the perfect spot by the beach. You just walked down the stairs and you can enjoy the great view of the cala of Tamariu. The hotel is very pretty and their staff is beyond friendly. They really make you feel very comfortable. The bartenders Tomeu and Xavi, and Alex, Marcela and “el polaco” were absolutely incredible and service was amazing.
We will definitely try to come back to this place.

We keep coming back , this was our third trip here to the Hotel Hostalillo in a little over a year and we still love it great location in the heart of the picturesque Costa brava , beautiful stunning scenery even when not blazing sun, it was a lovely tip and one we will probably repeat again

The location was very pretty and our initial interaction with the desk upon checking in was great. They were friendly and helpful. At night, the bar area began closing around 11pm and they turned the lights out on us while we were playing cards with no warning. We moved to the lounge area with the couches and they soon thereafter turned those lights off on us, with no communication. We asked if they would turn them back on and they said \"no, that area is closed.\" Since they would not allow us to stay in the comfortable lounge area, we could only sit near the front desk and were told we had to be quiet because \"this is a hotel\" and we were near to other rooms. So we had to whisper to finish our card game. The whole interaction was rude and unhospitable. If you go to bed early and avoid the bar, you should not have a problem at this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Hostalillo. Our room overlooked the beach and had beautiful views of the ocean. The staff was extremely friendly and arranged for a portable crib prior to our arrival. Our room was incredibly clean, large and recently renovated with new bathroom fixtures.

We enjoyed the menu from the carte , discounted for residents . Lovely food and the breakfast assortment was varied and plentiful.

The Miridor could do with more staff as service could be a bit slow. In the restaurant the the waiters, while great and attentive, could do with slowing down a little and then the atmosphere would be a bit more relaxed. It was just a little bit too hectic , perhaps they could do with a couple of extra staff on each shift.

Beautiful room with huge sunny windows, very clean and modern furnishings. Our window room had two twin beds pushed together. Easy to find free public parking nearby, close to the beach. Steps directly down to the nice beach and waterfront restaurants. Did not try the hotel's own restaurant or bar as they seemed a little pricey. Tamariu is a tiny little town, very quiet in March. We had a nice hike to Begur.

This was a really nice hotel in this area of Costa Brava. Let’s start with (1) the rooms: The room was big and the bathroom was very spacious. We were a family of 4 and they had a king bed and two single beds. The room had a small balcony facing the beach; the balcony also had a small table and chairs which can be used just to spend time enjoying the beautiful view from the room. The only downside to the room is that is a little dark but who goes to this part of the world to stay in the room? (2) Let’s continue with the restaurant: we only had breakfast there but you could also enjoy lunch and diner. The restaurant also has spectacular views of the Cala (beach) and you get the breeze from the ocean - I admit having breakfast there was one of the high points of my Spain trip. Breakfast was buffet style and I got to enjoy a Mimosa which was included with the price of breakfast. You also get hot and cold option so you will enjoy. Now let’s finish with (3) other aspects: staff was really friendly and spoke multiple languages. The lobby area is really nice and next to it you can also enjoy the view without going out. Dropping off the suitcases can be challenging - first you have to make sure you don’t miss the entrance to the hotel (you have to go into a very small street that you may no see without the GPS) and then the space to drop the bags does not allo for more than 3 cars at the same time - it wasn’t an issue for me but during busy times could be challenging.

We loved this hotel so much! Gorgeous view of the water from our balcony and we enjoyed very much sitting in the Bar at night and looking out at the view. The only issue for us (which is not the fault of the hotel) were the smokers on the balcony next door. The staff were wonderful. Truly a little paradise! We can't wait to come back!

The electric sockets were not working. I had to use the only working socket of the TV. The heating was also not working, beginning of April it can be pretty shilly, even in Spain.
We ate tapas in the hotel bar. Not only were they expensive, but unfortunately also the worst tapas we ate during our stay in Spain.
Finally, we had to pay to store our bicycles. That was the first time ever!
The only good I can say is that cleanliness was good and the staff was very friendly.

The communication pre trip was excellent. I had booked a twin bed room by mistake and when i explained i was on my honeymoon they said they would sort it and they did. The staff remembered our honeymoon too and surprised us with a bottle of 🍾 bubbly! Also managed to get a kettle for the room as there wasn't any tea making facilities. Shame barman was a bit scarce but they had 200 people to deal with in restaurant. Car park not on site but was not too far away and secure.
