We love this hotel. It is our family favourite very clean friendly. We spend the afternoons playing cards in their gorgeous patio. The food in the restaurant is simple but delicious and the waiters are very kind.

Hotel is really old and not well maintained, you can hear everything, my bathroom window was right infront of the door of a room on the next level. Every time they exited they could see my entire bathroom. Could not open the window ever. Bed are really bad. Internet is worse than the bed. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a hotel. Incredible noisy, people started working on construction inside the hotel on a room couple steps away at 6 am. I complained, nothing changed. The staff knocked on my door at 8 am on a Sunday, just to check if I needed anything… TV is the size of an iPad. Avoid this place if you want to rest, this is not the place.

Loved the old colonial atmosphere of the property, how clean it was and how attentive staff were to requests. Plus you get the benefit of 2 restaurants- 1 for breakfast and lunch and a modern sports bar. It was beautiful and convenient. The only downside was that it can get warm in the room on hot days.

NO ONE spoke a lick of English, so communication with the front desk was hand signals and frustration.
The toilet was broken and despite numerous attempts to have it fixed the issue was not resolved so I had to flush it by filling a trash can with water for our entire stay.

Es muy difícil encontrar estacionamiento y que el hotel cuente con su estacionamiento justo detras de la propiedad es un plus tambien fue de los pocos hoteles que de verdad contaban con señal y wifi ya que hay muy poca señal en chiapas para el celular la verdad todo salio bien excepto por la actitud de la recepcionista al principio la cual fue un poco desagradable entiendo que fue un mal entendido pero no es necesario tener una actitud tan poco servicial o pocas ganas de ayudar

You cant get more central to everything than this place. One block to the main squares. Plenty of Restaurnts and shops around.Mostly flat terrain so very strollable. I was in a room on the quadrangle and it was a bit too noisy for my liking. The room itself is very spacious and comfortable, little tearrace at the back is pleasant. The Colonial rooms are a bit smaller but are in an area where the outside noise is cancelled. Sitting in the quadrangle itself is so nice and peaceful, I just wish the restaurant staff would have played the music quietly instead of at 100db.

When I'm back in this city, I'll stay here again

The stay was awesome and so was the staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful and the hotel itself was in a great location. Not too close to the town square and not too far away. The place was kept clean, the staff was always cleaning something. It was very picturesque. Omar, who tends a very nice stand in the front was awesome. He spoke English which was a great help for me since my Spanish is very limited. Great time. And the restaurant and staff there was great too....! I would highly recommend.

Location is good and the hotel's communal areas are nice. The room I had was facing a road and was quite noisy. You should request one of their quieter rooms if you're a light sleeper. The bed was much too hard for my liking and I didn't find it comfortable, but maybe some people prefer that.

Lovely stay, charming people.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Great location for exploring the town and going out for an evening meal. Be prepared that it’s fine but a little rustic. There is no air conditioning but it’s not needed as the altitude of San Cristóbal makes everything cooler. In fact at night it gets cold and they offer you wood for an open fire place. Big beds, nice shower, clean. And the staff were very helpful including jumping into our car to show how to get into their car park round the back of the hotel. Reasonably priced, would definitely recommend it.

A nice colonial hotel in San Cristóbal

A lovely old colonial building with lots of character, conveniently located in the heart of San Cristóbal. We were there five nights, but the last night were moved from a large room near the front of the hotel to a much smaller, less convenient room at the rear, due to repairs being made at the front of the hotel. The only compensating factor was that the rear room had less street noise and a larger bathroom - though with inferior fixtures.
WIFI service was sporadic - sometimes very good, other times inaccessible. At this price there should be totally reliable WIFI.
The one night it was so cold that we needed the wood stove lit, the service was prompt, and the iron stove remained warm through the night. The second room only had a fireplace, and would likely not have been as efficient for heating.
The a la carte breakfasts were nice, but the buffet breakfasts that came as part of our tour nights were less impressive - nice variety but not so well-prepared and, as at most buffets, not hot or terribly fresh. Restaurant wait staff was rather inattentive, and we often had long waits for refills.
The biggest downside to this hotel are uncomfortable beds. Linens and pillows are lovely, but the beds are very hard - I awoke each day with aching bones and joints as a result.
By Mexican standards we found this to be a rather pricey hotel for the amenities. In Mérida, for example, one can get a comparable hotel for half the price!

The staff was friendly, the property is a historical jewel immersed in the south of Chiapas. The food and settings was good. Have your coffe served from coffe grains grown in their property is something. Also tge ingredients used in the food preparation comes from their gardens. However, the time is taking its stake, it needs some updates to enhance the beauty of the building to make your stay a very pleasant one.

This 4-star hotel in San Cristobal is correctly rated. Its location is excellent, being just two blocks from the city park. Its dining room is about as good as any in town, and its ambience is charming, being a former large colonial home with a central patio. Its cost was quite competitive, therefore an overall great experience. Slow-turning ceiling or wall fans would be a good addition, as the rooms got stuffy at night.

Front desk was amazing. We had an issue with a loud neighbor but the hotel staff took care of it. The hotel is centrally located. We were able to walk everywhere in town without any issues. The parking structure was easy to get in and out of. The food was very good. The buffet was ok. The only drawback of the room was that there were no windows we could open. we like to get fresh air but that did not work. The color on the TV was bad but we did not really care since we were on vacation. If I were to go back, I would stay here again.

Great hotel, great location. Changed our room once as the bed wasn’t comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the new room and stayed for a week! It was lovely to have such a nice big room with comfortable chairs to relax and feel at home. Nice bedding, bathrooms and hot water. Would recommend and would stay here again if we ever have the good fortune to return to San Cristobal. Booked our tours through their agency and were very happy with them. We felt like family!

The room did not look like photo. It was above a noisey bar that was playing live music until 2am. I asked to change rooms and I was told that there were no other rooms available.
By midnight when the noise was just getting louder. I went to the front desk and said I couldn't sleep and asked to talk to someone in English. They did not cooperate initially and I was very tired and crying. Finally they phoned the manager. I told her I really needed to sleep. She authorized a room change. It turns out there were lots of rooms in a very quiet area off the street in a leafy courtyard just like in the photos online. By this time I was exhausted. Terrible treatment. Regret booking it. Realy regret it.

Two stars, not for the claustrophobic

Most rioms face the inside of the hotel, and consequently have no air. Either stay away n room 603 or forget it. Not a 4 star hotel. No hot water, noisy (construction next doir), not clean. Just a place to sleep.

No central heating! They give you some tiny firewood, then they charge for heating your room! That's beyond ridiculous.

Very according staff, right down to taking our luggage and storing it in the sister hotel 50 ft away and allowing us to lounge for wcweal hours while waiting for our bus, even though we had already checked out. This was our favorite hotel that we stayed during our road trip across the country. The hotel is beautiful and charming, and matches the architecture found in San Cristobal de las Casas There is a nice courtyard in the middle and the hotel rooms were very comfortable.
