Staff in the restaurant at breakfast were clueless

First room they gave us was a shoe box with a screw drilled into the window so it wouldn't open.

After compiling we were shown a better room which we had.

The style of the hotel makes it feel dated not modern.

The breakfast was good but the staff in that department were as if they were from Mars they had no hospitality training and could be better replaced with traffic cones.

Frequent returning guest over many years to The Mandeville .. always made feel so welcome by every member of staff and the location and facilities are just the best. You have peace and quiet of Marylebone but just minutes away from Oxford Street at the same time. So many great options for dining near the hotel. Breakfast both the buffet and Al la Carte breakfast are really good. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in London. Rooms are spacious.

Location is amazing. Close to Bond Street and oxford Street.

This is a wonderful hotel, beautifully maintained, with a friendly, professional staff and an excellent location close to upscale shopping, wonderful restaurants, and local attractions.
A special thank you to Nikita at the front desk. She checked us in after a long journey and was incredibly warm, professional, and accommodating. Throughout our stay, every time we passed by, she greeted us with a smile, offered kind words, and asked if there was anything she could do to help. Everyone at the hotel was great, but Nikita truly stood out because she made such a positive first impression and consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Her exceptional customer service helped make our stay even more enjoyable. We would gladly stay here again.

My 1st stay at The Mandeville - initially I was not so impressed thought it was a bit down at heel but I stayed 4 nights and it grew on me! Staff are lovely - I upgraded my room and was happier on a higher floor with front view! Like the walk in shower -as well as bath - that’s unusual in these hotels! Once I got settled I really appreciated the hotel more and it was less expensive than where I usually stay in Marylebone and was still right in the heart of everything! Actually less noisy location! Did not eat there! But bar/lounge area is large and comfortable!

From moment we stepped into The Mandeville it was the staff were happy, talkative and very approachable. From the desk staff to the lovely people working the lobby, everyone was ao happy to help and assist with anything.
Room was spotlessly clean with a large bed that was really comfy. Air con was noisy but easy to turn off - glad we didn’t need it.
Overall a perfect stay in excellent location

Reception was lovely. Room was clean. Shower is poorly designed so water gathered on the floor. More of an annoyance than anything. Heater/air conditioner didn’t always work. As it was the weekend there was a lot of street noise. However great location and well run. Didn’t eat there so no feedback on the restaurant.

Nice and helpful staff, but the hotel and rooms are very much under standard. Small and dirty.
Hallways are narrow and smell. Carpets everywhere need changing or deep cleaning.

This hotel was overall a disappointment as we would rather leave and pay for another hotel then to stay and even to get an upgrade.
We just wanted to leave.

We only had 2 nights here as a short break in London to see family and visit a show. The hotel is excellently positioned, very close to Bond Street underground which links directly to/from Heathrow airport without any change. There are any amount of good local eateries and small shops as well as all the attractions of Oxford St. and Regent St. nearby. Its an easy commute to the show and we always felt safe. Staff were corteous and helpful and we will definitely be back.

After a brief phone call pre arrival I was granted an early check In from the front desk manager, Then on arrival I was told we had been upgraded to a suite, at this point all was going great however looking at the pictures from my booking my original room looked far more modern than the “tired suite” that was given, after a delayed train journey we just went with it and then headed into the city to the theatre,
When I woke up the next Morning the hotel had took a random payment for hundreds of pounds out of my bank (unauthorised and still unexplained) so I went to speak to the receptionist. His response was outrageous , he told me the manager would be in Monday and “it was not his problem” I remained calm but explained he cannot say this to which he replied “I didn’t say that” (very strange) he was clearly agitated and I later found out his shift had ran over and he was tired and irritable, the baggage Concierge “Kenny” (an absolute gem and credit to the hotel) told me “he’s a good lad Mr kirk however he shouldn’t still be here, maybe hear him out and let him apologise”, however at this point another receptionist “Micheala” had started work, I proceeded to explain the situation and she apologised profusely and began to look into the problem, during this time my original “contact” attempted to speak to me and offer apologies, I explained that he had offended me immensely rude staff 50th treat spoiled
Keep you 20% refund it’s an insult

We arrived at 15:00 but their check-in systems was down. We were asked to wait for 5 mins, which turned into 20mins which then turned into a very frustrating 1hr 30 mins. Our friends were given a room card only to find another guest already in the room when they entered. We had booked an early dinner with other friends at Carbone which we were very late for,so we had no time to change and it ruined what was going to be a very relaxing evening. What made it all worse, was the staff at the hotel just didn't know what to do, as there seemed to be no back up their online system when it went down. Guest were left waiting in reception when even though rooms had been allocated they didn't want to give room keys out because they couldn't take a card deposit. In the end we had to insisted that they gave us our room card after asking more than 5 times. Having this poor experience with the check in, the room we were allocated was small and noisy being next to the road and not having double glazing. The stair carpet down to reception looked like it had not been cleaned in 20 years. For all of this dreadful experience no discount was offered and we left the next morning without having breakfast as we had totally lost faith with this hotel.

I stayed on the first floor overlooking the road. The bedroom was a standard with a double bed. When I booked it said superior room with a queen bed. Room was very noisy the traffic was heavy and noisy until 3am. Would have thought that windows would have been better to shut out traffic noise.

Mandeville hotel turned out to be exactly what we want. We stayed there for 11nights. The room are very clean even though a bit small. Hotel staff were very helpful with directions, suggestions for restaurants and facilitated extra work with great attitude. There are a lot of restaurants and boutiques all with in walking distance. Tube station is just minutes away. Highly recommend it!
