Got attacked by bed bugs! Room was not very clean. Didn’t have a working tv for 3 days. The staff wasnt very friendly. Unless you were a priority guest, you weren’t really treated the same.
Booked a luxury resort for our anniversary and we’re expecting it to be better.
The resort itself was beautiful and the food was delicious.

First of all, why would the pool bars turn the music off and close shop at the prime time of the day, 3pm?

The only place that played music was the bar outside of Neptune’s! If it hadn’t been for the two bar tenders there, Ismail and “Thunder Tongue”, my review would have been much worse. Those two should be running the show! Friendly, funny, engaging. Give those two a raise!!

The property was beautiful, but the beach was awful! Understand that you can’t clean up what’s in the water, but you can clean up the beach. There were rakes leaned up against the trees, someone should actually try using one. So disappointing.

For the amount of $ spent to stay here, and being a Sandals resort, experience was underwhelming.

It’s worth it to consider allowing your staff to accept tips. You’ll quickly find they’ll be happier and willing to stick around past 3pm to allow guests a fun time in the sun rather than almost encouraging everyone to go take a nap! This resort is not for younger crowds, 30-50, looking to enjoy a full day at the pool with music or lounging on a beautiful beach. Save yourself some time, money and disappointment..pick another resort!

Our trip was winter getaway and was amazing! The resort is gorgeous and the staff very helpful and courteous. The resort is amazingly manicured and clean. The restaurant options are fabulous. The beach was beautiful and well maintained daily. I can't say enough good things about Sandals South Coast. We'll be going back!

Upon arrival I was told my room was overbooked and I will spend the night at a temporary room, so later on the next day to move to a second room. Making this very inconvenient for my wife and I. Instead of us concentrating on our vacation now we have to worry about we can’t even unpack, at what time they going to move us? ect.
The room we finally got room 1114 had a sewage smell and the A/C wasn’t really good making noise and not cooling enough. By the time we finally got settled and went to try to make a reservation for the specialty restaurant everything was booked making us also miss this part of the vacation. Also the beach sucks full of seaweed and the sand is like mud making it nasty to even step in water.
In conclusion I won’t recommend doing business with Sandals south coast.
Terrible experience, I wasted my time and money. Not good!

Upon arrival I tried to ask a question and the comment was \"In a minute, not now, in a very rude tone\". I found that some staff were rude and condescending.
When I called for room service I was rudely told that my level of room didn't qualify for room service. This was never mentioned when booking the room or I might have booked a more expensive room as we enjoy room service in the mornings when we travel.
There was absolutely no information provided about the resort in our room or anywhere else, other than a small map of the property. Information regarding the different dining options, planned activities or entertainment during our stay would have been very helpful.
Our first morning at breakfast we waited well over an hour for our meal.
When we booked a tour the person booking it for us would immediately stop what she was doing for us, to answer the phone . She never even said excuse me for a minute or anything just cut off our conversation to answer the phone, this happened multiple times. It took way longer than it should have due to all of these interruptions. Good customer service would have been to finish working with the customer standing in front of you before dealing with the phone.
The HVAC only had three settings, cold, colder and freezing.
The good was that the food was delicious (if you didn't mind waiting), the majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful,and the resort was exceptionally well maintained

Unfortunately I have to say it did not feel like a 5 Star resort. It was more like 3.5 -4 star all you can eat buffet.
Waiting 1 hour to get your food, messing up orders, room service not responding or bringing you not what you ordered. These are just a few of the things that neet to improve before getting to that 5 star feeling.
I mean, you pay almost $1000 a day, and they give you a $8 shampaing bottle for your honeymoon... come on....

The all inclusive food was good but nothing was really anything to speak of. Everything we had was just ok. And for us this came down to value for money—you pay a lot for the al inclusivity so would want to see the food a bit better.

Secluded hotel; peaceful and quiet. Plenty of space in the pool areas and at the beach. Restaurants were great (did not make it to the sushi restaurant).

Rooms in the French Village are dated and not particularly well maintained. This was my third visit to Jamaica and I also didn't find the staff to be particularly warm/friendly (at least they did not go out of their way to make you feel welcomed).

Overall experience at Sandals South Coast was pleasant. The beach front and restaurant options were an added plus. However. Staff attitudes and service were questionable at times. Yet, the entertainment staff went above and beyond to create a positive experience. The rooms were ok. They came with a pleasantly stocked refrigerator...... Nice! The biggest downfall to Sandals South Coast was the commute from MOB....... Rough ride. I was taken back by the option to pay for an excursion to another Sandals resort in Negril. I think there should be a better system in place to encourage and incentivalize guests. In closing, this property had a lot of cats, birds, sea gulls and peacocks that, at times, interfered with what might have been a nice meal.

Fabulous food, staff & the perfect beach

I was skeptical of an all-inclusive vacation, mostly because I was worried it would be like cruise ship food. I was over-the-moon when the promise of Sandals came true. The food is a solid 4 out of 5 stars, all seafood is fresh catch, the flavors and dishes are exceptional. The booze is free-flowing and the bartenders are encouraged to make up fun drinks.

You can have the vacation you want. Want to party - head over to the main pool, or one of the several bars with entertainment. The hosts keep things lively. Want to canoodle with your love? Every aspect of the layout is designed to encourage romance, but not in a cheesy way. The seating at every restaurant, for instance, is done so that every table has a beautiful view - whether of the beach, or the lux interiors of the restaurants and bars.

Excellent Return Trip

My wife and I stayed at Sandals South Coast from October 29 – November 4. This was our third trip to South Coast and fifth trip to Sandals in Jamaica (two other times were at Sandals Ochi). We reserved a Penthouse Club Level room, but were delighted to be upgraded to a Junior Suite which offered an updated décor. All club level rooms include the Club Sandals Concierge service (they have an office in a nearby building where they will arrange reservations, print boarding passes and offer to help with anything you need), a stocked bar in the room with refrigerator and room service. We used many items in the refrigerator (beer, bottled water, juice, wine and champagne. It was restocked every day. We were checked in by McKayda in Club Sandals. She called several times during our trip just to ask if we needed anything. She also recognized us days after checking in and knew our names. She was very helpful and professional.

Every part of the resort is kept up very nicely with well-tended gardens and constant cleaning, painting and maintenance. The flowers are spectacular. The beach is nearly a mile long and was never crowded during our stay. It is raked several times a day to keep it clean and inviting looking. The beachfront has been improved since our last stay. The Jerk Shack restaurant in on the beach (improved seating and the additional wait staff since last year) offers Jamaican jerk style chicken, pork and sausage – all excellent.

Could Have Been An Excellent Vacation

The resort was nice and the grounds were well kept. Service staff were friendly and seemed to appreciate our business. The stay could have been excellent except for several issues that added up. 1) Our room in the Dutch Village was outdated and not really beachfront. It was more beachview than beachfront. 2) They didn't honor the free YS Falls excursion that is advertised on the Sandals website for Club and Butler rooms. The guest manager (Shane) did not handle the situation as expected and didn't really seem to care that we were upset. 3) The dive shop was not well organized and equipment was outdated and in disrepair. 4) They did not recognize our anniversary after asking several times if we were celebrating anything during our stay. 5) The Sandals website boasts about premium liquors but several bars were out of certain liquors during most of our week stay.

Was a very nice trip with most of the staff very friendly, the rooms were ok but im not sure I would say value for money. The wifi is terrible and they charge a silly price to get premium wifi. We were in club level which has a few benefits but they did not seem to come through when needed.
There was a lot of noise from construction work on the beach with new villas being built, beach being dug up, and drainage being maintained.
Would I stay there again, probably not, would I do another Sandals, yes

At first I thought the price was a little high, but after seeing what all wad included the trip saved us a ton of money. I could not believe diving was included. That by itself is worth the money, let alone when you figure in all the food and the other activities that are included. The only thing I did not like was the bed. It was very hard and hurt my back every day. That being said, my fiance found it very comfortable and had no issues, so it's really a matter of preference. Overall, I would and will stay at this resort again. I think our next vacation will be at another Sandals. Customer service, food and facilities were awesome.

Sandals South Coast Jamaica Was So-So

Food was okay but not great. Some dishes were too salty. Many side dishes and desserts were apparently prepared well in advance.
Drinks were readily available and okay, but mixed drinks were not great. A bartender made me an Old Fashioned with brandy and soda instead of bourbon.
The trip from the airport to the hotel was 1.5 hours long to cover 40 miles. The road over the mountains was in terrible shape (i.e. bumpy due to potholes everywhere), winding, narrow and busy which made the trip feel even longer.
We did not go into the sea once during the 4 days we were there. There was way too much seaweed in the water and many spiny sea urchins.
The concierge staff that came with the room did not know about the island excursion that came with the room. I asked about it on Saturday but the didn't confirm it with the head office until late Sunday. The excursion did not operate on Mondays and we were leaving on Tuesday - so we missed the excursion.
I was told by Sandals when I booked the room that I was in the renovated Italian village but when I checked in they put me in the un-renovated Dutch village.

We stayed 4th floor dutch which included the club service. 6 nights.
It was really an amazing vacation.
The staff here is one of a kind. They are so genuinely into making sure you have a great time and most of them seem to be having a great time as well.
Eleanors is a really good restaurant.
The pizza and jerk chicken are great lunch choices.
If i had to complain about one thing, we had to request getting our mini bar restocked. Not a big deal.
We did the couples massage, snorkeling, waterskiing, catamaran cruise.. All was great.
This was our first trip to jamaica and first all inclusive. But from talking to a lot of other couples, this is one of the best period.
We will definately be returning!

This was my husband and myself's first visit to Jamaica.
Sandals White House is Beautiful with beautiful views.
The water was pretty murky though.
Be prepared with bug spray,I was bitten 52 times from either chiggers or sand bugs.
The daily tractor moving rocks was a bit disturbing exspecially when trying to sleep in or sit by the ocean and enjoy the view.Not how you imagine relaxing at a ocean front property,with heavy equipment running up and down all day.
The food was great,the entertainment staff was amazing.
Not a very diverse crowd,but meet alot of great couples.

Great Hotel, Great Beach, and Great Food

We decided to do a short, hot trip to get away for a few days. After doing some research I decided to book at the Sandals Whithouse. We had previously been to the Sandals Antigua and had a very good experience. This hotel did not disappoint. Although it is an hour and a half drive from the airport it is worth it to be nice and secluded and away from any other resort. The beach was great and we spent most of our time just relaxing there. We managed to go to each restaurant (nice to have a variety) and enjoyed our meals and drinks at all of them. It was definitely sad to leave.

Wonderful hotel right on the beach

This hotel is an absolute gem! The hotel staff are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. Our room was very clean and had a nice view of the ocean. The was a nice variety of restaurants to choose from as well. It's about an hour and a half ride from the airport and there is nothing to do around the resort without getting a taxi. It's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy yourself. The dive team is also amazing-I highly recommend them!!!

We were pleased with the entire experience. Staff was friendly and always accommodating. Food was delicious. Food choices were outstanding. The beach was beautiful and meticulously maintained everyday. While beaches were very nice, there was some erosion which meant there were quite a few rocks in the water just off the shore. Not a big deal, but to really enjoy the water, you need to wear water shoes - which we did. Wifi service was adequate. Overall, we had a great time. Highly recommend.

Amazing and romantic honeymoon!

It was an amazing experience on so many levels.
Before you travel: bring small bills to tip luggage handlers and your driver. 2) there's a tour where you spend time at a local elementary school, reading with the kids and interacting with them. It’s amazing, if you can, bring books to donate.
Our club level room meant a speedy checkin at a separate lounge just for us. It’s open 24/7 for us, stocked with books, coffee/expresso machine, snacks, champagne, JW black label, etc. Our room was lovely. In the Dutch Village, which was nicely located in the resort. For a livelier setting, the French village. The whole resort is gorgeous and well kept.
Food: eat dinner at each restaurant! Delicious food at each one. Bluefields is not only romantic, they serve an outstanding traditional appetizer.Follow it up with the lobster,which is TO DIE FOR!
Drinks: all top shelf stuff, Glenfiddich,Appleton Reserve, French champagne, etc.
Catamaran cruise: Awesome.On the way back its smooth sailing with the wind, nonstop beer and rum punch, and the best DJ around. Fun!
Jamaican hospitality: everyone’s so nice and helpful. As we were leaving the staff serenaded us with a farewell song. We'll definitely be back.
Cons: 1) wine included is a Mondavi wine made for Sandals… meh. The restaurants offer a limited wine list for purchase, with some decent ones for $50-$60. 2)reserving a chair at the pools. People go at 7am, place a hat/magazine on chairs, and not come back to them until hours later.

The grounds of the hotel were gorgeous! The mountains in the back made for a secluded, tropical vacation. The food was good. They could have used better quality liquor, but the drinks were fine. We had fun at the martini bar and on the catamaran to the Pelican Bar. The pools were beautiful and large. After seeing other resorts in Negril and Montego Bay I was thrilled we chose Sandals Whitehouse.

Really pleased with our stay at Sandals Whitehouse for our honeymoon. Everything excellent - only negative callouts are distance from airport, 90 min drive through windy roads, and the beach is really shallow (have to swim out past seaweed which isn't ideal). Entertainment is so-so, but they do their best and the staff is very friendly. The day trips are quite expensive and are further from resort (2 hours or so), but I suppose this is standard. Overall though we really enjoyed it and will definitely visit another Sandals resort !

We had our weddingmoon here and it was PERFECT! The resort provided the beat of all world's. It was quiet and intimate with amazing service and food and activities. And ecen am active night life. Only down was the bed was brutal-we both woke up every morning with a sore back. We didn't want to complain but found out upon checkout that you can ask to have the bed padded or could have been moved to another room. :)

The resort was beautiful and well-kept. Our room was great with all your basic amenities provided such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and facial soap. The quality of service is what really wowed us as every employee went above and beyond to ensure our stay was beyond our expectations. The resort provided transportation to and from the airport with a 'welcome' lounge to relax and grab refreshments upon arrival which is always a nice touch. We would definitely return to this Sandals without a doubt.

Are you a beach person or a pool person?

This is a beautiful and well maintained property but rating it depends on what you are after. Since sea water access is hindered by rocks and murky water it would be rate 1 for those (like us) who travel for the sea experience. But for the \"pool\" people I would rate it as 5.

Nearly every room has ocean view or partially obstructed ocean view. Lovely beach, friendly staff, and excellent dining options. Chairs tend to get reserved by early risers every morning - somewhat disappointing to see these chairs go unused for the majority of the day. The water was warm and very calm on this part of the island. Almost no shore break at all with the reef located ~200m off the beach. We felt the best breakfast option was Eleanor's, and for dinner either Eleanor's or BlueFields for the lobster. We did not try the Italian restaurant at all, but did enjoy the french cuisine one evening at Bayside. Wine options were sometimes limited - some restaurants had the cab, while others only offered the merlot or shiraz for reds. Overall very nice, and would definitely recommend.

Great all inclusive resort--Sandals Whitehouse

The resort was all that we had hoped for. We had not previously been to an all inclusive resort. No additional costs were required or expected at the resort, although we needed to pay for tips at the airport and to the driver for the trip to Sandals--all worth the expense. Once we cleared customs at the airport, the Sandals people took over. The 90 minute trip to the resort was over winding roads, but gave us a chance to see the countryside. The staff went beyond their duties to make our stay pleasant. There were limited free activities at the resort. Among them were snorkeling, sailing, boat trips, entertainment and games. Most guests just seemed to want to relax near the water, eat and drink; and they did a lot of those things. Off site activities had charges for participation. What we did was worth what we paid. The six restaurants all had excellent food. We had no waits to get seated at the restaurants. Maybe one of the most surprising items was that no panhandlers were on the beach. The resort had some outside vendors some evenings, but the resort obviously controlled them very well. Every indoor part of the resort was air conditioned. The rooms were very adequate; housekeeping was always making sure the room was properly prepared.

I had a misunderstanding about the scuba situation. A fee was required to learn, and I was not aware of that. But, if a person had a diving certificate, scuba trips were free.

Best Vacation

From check in to check out was an excellent vacation. This was our 7th trip to Whitehouse and was as good as the first. All the staff are outstanding from Russell from the loyalty desk to Geaton and Tanu the life guards. Bartenders Damion and Delroy always excellent as well as Copeland and Phillip. We had a wonderfull time. Our room was kept sparkling clean by Dadrian and food was always excellent at every restaurant. If I were you I would noit hesitate to come here. If you do not have a good time at Whitehouse it is your fault and you could not have a good time anywhere you go so stay home.
