We went for my son's senior trip and it was everything we needed for our family of 5 to have 2 separate rooms, our own private pool, an amazing view of the Volcano, a heated shared pool with a swim up bar and all the food, drinks and excursions that we needed were handled with grace by the staff. Highly recommended , and we will definitely be back!

Our 2 bedroom villa was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, A/C worked great and we loved the private pool. They provide toiletries and hairdryers. There is a small kitchen area with a coffee maker and mini fridge, no microwave. The only thing we missed was not having a living room to hang out together in, but there is plenty of seating on the porch. Beware the doors lock automatically when you shut them so if you are going out on the porch or pool make sure to take your key. The grounds are absolutely amazing, so lush and beautiful and a perfect view of the volcano. We saw so many birds including a toucan in the trees right outside our villa. It is a bit of a walk from the lobby to the rooms as they are spread out across the property. That makes it feel very private, but if you need help getting around they can give you a ride in a golf cart. We enjoyed the free breakfast and one morning we had to leave before breakfast and the front desk got us to go breakfasts (we requested the night before). The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant the night we arrived. The food was delicious but very expensive. There is also food available at the pool which was very good and cheaper. The pool water is very warm, it felt so good! We took Ubers into La Fortuna and to various activities, it’s a short ride to get around and very affordable. The lush, spacious property feels very secluded, yet is still just a 15 minute uber ride to town.

This is not a place to go. The staff is not responsive and seems uninterested in customer service.

We had a bat in the room that started flying around and they sent someone with a pool cleaner and iphone for a light. We asked to change rooms and it took negotiation to get approval

Then in the new room there was no hot water, the front desk said they forgot to turn in on when we moved rooms.

There is a single pool, very small and focused on swim-up bar. They are updating and reconstructing rooms on the property which leaves a bit of debris all over

This would be 3 star at most and certainly not worthy of a stay

The hotel is overrated for the price. It is not clean and the food was regular, even the food was with hair. They don’t have even a mini fridge for such as expensive hotel. You have to park far away from the room. It was a lizard inside the blender and the pool has a frog inside. The view is not like it is in the picture.

For the price, it’s hard to beat. It’s conveniently located near all the major attractions, the grounds are beautiful, and while the rooms are a bit dated, they’re perfectly serviceable; as long as you’re not expecting a five-star experience. One odd drawback: there’s almost no closet space. We ended up living out of our suitcases the entire stay.

This was our second stay at the Hotel Mountain Paradise, and it was just as good as we remembered! The two-bedroom villa is spacious and a great way to relax for a family of 5. We loved the plunge pool and views and enjoyed breakfast. Great location, close to town and a lot of the activities we wanted to try. It was much busier the second time round and while the main pool is lovely and warm, more chairs are needed. When we tried to visit all chairs were occupied and we had to leave our towel and belongings on a nearby rock.

The hotel was older but quaint and \"typical\" of Costa Rica. The rooms were spacious, with good air conditioning and had own bathtub outside. Had a nice big bathroom with a waterfall shower. Dissapointed that there were hardly any views from the cabins because there was too much vegetation-(do not cut the beautiful trees) However, it makes it very beautiful and private. Saw tons of birds, monkeys and even an aguouti! I do wish we had hammocks like we saw some rooms had. There was a nice view from the pool and restaurant. Like that it is not huge so not a huge amount of tourists. Dissapointed that it only had one small pool/hot springs and property not very big - wish had a \"sendero\" to take walks in the forest. The room service has nice presentation but taste was average- Breakfast not so great. Service was not consistent and some of the workers seemed like \"forced to be nice\". Overall it was average 3 star ...not a 4 star and definitely way overpriced. (We were there during Spring Break) Perhaps low season is way better prices. Cute but would not stay there again.

I highly recommend this hotel, the staff was very helpful in helping us get a private shuttle to our flight home. They sent us off with food at 5am in the morning and things lined up perfectly. Waking up to the sounds of animals was a really nice experience and the breakfast was a great way to get loaded up with energy. The hotel is close to go adventure park which was a really great professional place. Zip lining and horse back riding there was amazing.

The kitchen doesn’t have anything in it except for drinking glasses. There are no utensils or anything to make even a simple thing like guacamole.
There is a coffee maker. Wine glasses are there as are drinking glasses and coffee cups. Complementary coffee in the room.
There is a fridge. No microwave.
Rooms are comfortable, bedding, clean, mattresses are fantastic. We enjoyed our time here. excellent launching point for other activities.

Some negatives: the TV in the room did not work properly, there was no phone to contact the front office from the room, the bathroom didn’t have hooks for the towels. The service was pretty poor- very laid back, people seemed bothered when asked for service.

Everyone was nice except the receptionist on our first night. He was rude and impatient. When I didn’t get what he said, he told me, ‘I told you that already. Do you want me to repeat? Am too fast for you?’ And smiled sarcastically. He just had a strong accent that’s why I asked again but he wasn’t too happy about it.

Our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The property is surrounded by lush tropical gardens with breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano — waking up to that view every morning felt like a dream.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a private terrace that allowed us to truly relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The beds were super cozy, and everything was spotless and well maintained.

We didn't get the villa we had reserved/ paid for. The gardens have real potential, the pool is nice, parking secure and the staff great! Breakfast was a typical but a bit disappointing buffet. Dinners however were a pure waste of money - you're better off getting a sandwich or snacks at the pool. The place looks like it had had its day and slowly over the years deteriorating. The gardens under maintained and especially away from the reception and restaurant just kind of junky and weedy looking. Building aren't kept up very well - real potential, over priced for condition, and again the restaurant is a waste - eat out.

This was a great hotel for us. Traveled with my family of 3 and stayed in the villa. The room was very clean and comfortable. Good AC. Had a nice view of the volcano even though it was overcast and rained everyday. Staff was very polite, helpful, and replied to requests almost immediately. Pool was beautiful. Restaurant and breakfast were very good. Safe and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, but what truly stood out was the staff going above and beyond to make my son’s birthday special. Per my request, they arranged a cake for him, which meant so much to us.

The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive, and communication was excellent throughout our stay. The food at the restaurant was very good, but the absolute highlight,the best of the best was the breathtaking view of the volcano. Truly unforgettable.

What a perfect natural oasis with spacious beautifully situated bungalow style accommodation and an open air restaraunt looking out on the stunning Arenal Volcano. Sloths , toucans and other wildlife right on our doorstep. Set well back from the main road. Quiet and peaceful. We loved it.

A beautiful setting with flowering plants, birds and butterflies. Clean with very friendly staff. The one draw back was our room was very close to the restaurant so that we had no wifi (my guess it was supposed to connect with the router at the restaurant but it didn't ). I could stand outside other cabanas and log in... First world problem. Otherwise quiet and nice. La Fortuna is a crazy busy town so you really can't walk from this hotel anywhere as the roads are narrow and cars are a bit fast.

We had a wonderful stay here with our 5 teenage/young adult children. I was skeptical that the views and the rooms were as great as the pictures, but they were even better. We had two villas near each other for 7 people and had plenty of space. The location is private, yet a short Uber drive to La Fortuna. The food at the restaurant was great, though not a huge variety. There is AC in the rooms, which wasn't obvious from the listing, but much appreciated. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and helpful.

If I had any criticism, it is that there are no loungers at the pool, only chairs. And yeah, it rained pretty hard on a couple of days.

Overall, it was the perfect choice of hotel for us and I highly recommend it.
