⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Stay at Le Cameleon Puerto Viejo

Our stay at Le Cameleon Puerto Viejo was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The property is stunning, with beautiful tropical surroundings, immaculate grounds, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and disconnect.

The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail made us feel welcomed and well cared for. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. Their hospitality truly made a difference.

The location is perfect, just steps from the beach and close enough to enjoy everything Puerto Viejo has to offer while still feeling like a private oasis. Waking up to the sounds of nature and spending our days surrounded by lush greenery was a dream.

The food and drinks were excellent, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or simply a place to recharge, Le Cameleon is the perfect choice.

My stay at Le Celemeon in Costa Rica was absolutely amazing. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome—they were friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making my experience special.
One of the highlights was their excursion recommendations. They suggested some of the best activities, and everything was perfectly planned and unforgettable. It really made exploring Costa Rica so easy and enjoyable.
A special shoutout to Jennifer from housekeeping—she did an outstanding job every single time. The place was always spotless, fresh, and comfortable, which made a big difference during my stay.

This hotel is stunning! The pool and restaurant area has an awesome view of the beach and ocean. It has several pools that allow for different crowds. I went with my wife and twin boys and shared a 2 queen room. Even though the beds are small (not queen for sure), all other details were positive.

The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly! Rodrigo did an immaculate job cleaning our room, and always attended to our needs. The hostess at the restaurant (Gigis) was very pleasant, as well as all the waitstaff. Meals, including our breakfast which was included daily, were wonderful.

The accommodations had problems and I would not recommend this property at all because we were lied to air conditioner was broke in one room for two days air-conditioning leaking in my room for a day before they fixed it. They did move us around and accommodate us, but that's not why we were there to move around. These rooms should not have problems, especially at the rate they rented it.

During my recent stay at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary, someone broke into our room while we were sleeping resulting in the theft of my wife’s wedding ring. While the hotel offered a refund for our stay, their handling of the incident was deeply disappointing.
My main concerns are as follows:
1. Security Failure:
The hotel’s own logs confirmed unauthorized entry into our room using a cloned keycard. This is a clear failure of the hotel’s keycard security system, which guests rely on for safety.
2. Inadequate Investigation:
The hotel’s report deflected responsibility claiming that the loss happened off property just because our electronics weren’t
3. Selective Theft:
 The argument that only a ring was stolen (and not other items) does not excuse the hotel’s responsibility. Thieves often target small, high-value objects, and the hotel’s security should protect against all thefts.
4. Lack of Transparency and Cooperation:
 Despite promises of reimbursement for both the stay and the stolen ring, the hotel has not provided a formal written report or clear timeline for payment. I have requested full documentation, including security footage and keycard logs, but have not received a satisfactory response.

La vegetación en la propiedad es espectacular, es como estar en el medio de la selva pero con las comodidades que se esperan de un buen hotel. Los cuartos son cómodos y super limpios, todo de color blanco. La ubicación es muy buena para explorar las playas cercanas como Punta Uva, Playa Chiquita y otras. Además el hotel tiene un beach club con restaurante, bar y una piscina adicional.

El único punto no muy favorable fue que el jacuzzi al lado de la piscina estaba frio. Espero lo puedan arreglar pronto ya que todo lo demás fue excelente.

Le Cameleon is a nice hotel. It does need major updates, especially in the pool area. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would only go with white bedding, towels etc if they are going to remain white. The restaurant is very nice and so is the staff, the staff is wonderful actually. If you pay for the breakfast ahead you go to the buffet which is very good.

We had to make ourselves go and try other food because we would eat and drink there everyday. Also, the private beach entrance is beautiful. Great place to stay. The beach and restaurant area across the street is one of the nicest we have been to, anywhere in the world. The hotel itself nestled in the jungle is so memorable and nice. The staff at check in showed us a Sloth chilling in a tree nearby, very nice touch as my wife was very happy. We will try to make this place a romantic get-a-way every year.

One of the most beautiful hotels I have been staying. Impeccable on the details. Friendly staff. Good location, 10 minutes from the center of Puerto Viejo. Excellent for toddlers. Good amenities. My only suggestion is about the breakfast, it is not so good, but not a problem you have many options near by. In general an unforgettable experience. Definitely I’ll be back.

We spent the last 4 days of our two week Costa Rica trip at this hotel. We had a large suite on the beachside. We felt it was modern, clean and comfortable. We didn’t even go to the main pool on the other side of the property because the beachside had 2 pools. One of them seemed to need a little TLC and we never saw one person over there. No bar or food service there, just a small pool with some chairs. It never felt too crowded and we always found a good shaded beach bed to spend the day. The staff was also lovely although the first day, it did seem like the bartender was not excited to be there and we were inconveniencing him. But otherwise the staff was great. I only gave 4 stars to the area around the property because I do think they could liven up that one beachside pool and upgrade the beach lounger chairs which seemed old and worn out.

Location is definitely top! Staff is incredible, they will go beyond to make you happy. Breakfast was delicious but the same every day, if you stay several nights like we did, gets a bit boring.
Facilities are super outdated and old. The cleanliness overall of the place was very bad. I found old hair stuck all over the bathroom. Both pool areas also were super dirty! A little investment in the general hotel should be considered. Wood floors are broken in some areas making it dangerous to walk at night.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing. We were there for a family medical emergency and the stay at this resort made it less emergency and more vacation and mostly because of the staff. All of the staff were amazing but Daniel went so far above and beyond he made us feel like we were cousins or something and he didn’t want to disappoint his own family, that’s how good his service was for us. The entire location couldn’t have been more perfect. The beach club and restaurant were absolutely tasty and amazing and one of the next views you can ask for anywhere in the world. I would stay here 1000 times out of a 1000 and then some.

Welcome to the jungle and purda Vida. This hotel is nestled in the jungle which was so beautiful and has its own beach club. Walking on the resort you might run into a holler monkey, sloth and other local animals that appear friendly towards humans. The staff is so kind and they have many amenities. The room seemed a little outdated but not bad for that area. Out of the properties I saw in the local area I would say that this location is probably the best as many of the hotels/resorts seem due for an update. Transportation around town is easy and convenient to include ATV/scooter rental right next to the resort. The hotel offers many tour packages which seemed over priced. If you go into main town you will usually get a better deal than what the hotel offers. The staff here were so kind and accommodating so I would definitely come back.

The hotel has a fantastic location, you are right on the beach or just cross the main road into the beach <5 min walk from most bedrooms. This is very important, otherwise parking is very limited at the nice beaches.

The building, common areas and bedrooms are a bit dated and would benefit a lot if refreshed a bit.

The biggest area for improvement would have to be with the staff at the restaurant. Understaffed and with great improvement opportunitites in terms of speed of service, knowledge.

All in all, a terrific vacation and would definitely give the hotel another chance.

I even had an issue due to using my passport as collateral to rent a moped and the shop closed early on Sundays (which I wasn't aware of). First the room key pad didn’t work and had to be replace, got lock out of the room 3 times. Second the day it rain we got water licking from the roof in to the bed and another lick in to the closet area. Room description was incorrect it was not ocean front it was ocean side. There only 4 rooms with the same description and there’s no warranty you get the ocean front rooms. I was never offer any VIP benefits or advice on room description and after all the problem I had with the room never got offer any solution or compensation for the inconvenience and the last night getting rain on. Bathroom condition where horrible shower heat almost fall apart. Spoke to manager and the only think he offer it’s next Time send me a message and I give you the ocean front room and that the room didn’t say ocen view. However there are no rooms with ocean view description to make reservation on.
