I cannot say enough about how beautiful this property is. From the moment you check in the entire staff is so wonderful.
The rooms are so spacious & the decor is so gorgeous. Each room is set up with so much care. They have in-house laundry, which is very reasonable price. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The entire property including your rooms are so clean. Wish I could’ve stayed there longer. Such a memorable day.

The b&b has some great things and some things that really frustrated me:

Good
- [ ] The building is nicely done and very attractive as well as clean
- [ ] The location was great. Walkable to everything but mostly quiet
- [ ] Great pillows and bedding!

Bad
- [ ] The rooms are great to look at but ours was not very functional. There were no dressers or closet of any where to put clothes other than 4 hangars on the wall
- [ ] Also, no room to put toiletries in the bathroom. No drawers or shelves at all. Just seemed weird and not very thoughtful of the functionality
- [ ] I was glad that there was a hairdryer, but given the cost of the room, I was surprised it was the same kind as a Motel 6 (a cheap diffuser on the wall)
- [ ] Would have loved a mini frig in the room. I find it standard in most rooms 1/2 the price.
- [ ] We are vegetarian so the taster dinner was not a fit. Not a big deal.
- [ ] But breakfast (which is NOT included- Booking says it is) is extremely expensive, particularly if you aren’t a meat eater. £20 each for a continental breakfast.

The Lovat at Loch Ness is a charming and stylish lakeside hotel. The property has two lovely lounges, even a grand piano, and is equipped with an elevator — a thoughtful touch. Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight: besides the classic Highland Breakfast, we tried the Kedgeree (smoked haddock with curried rice and poached egg), which was absolutely delicious and a wonderful Scottish surprise.

The hotel’s location in Fort Augustus adds to the experience. The town itself is full of character, with the Caledonian Canal locks right at the center — watching the boats rise and fall is like a slow, graceful performance. We only stayed one night but wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the rhythm and atmosphere of this beautiful place.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lovat. The staff was the best of all of Scotland(from Edinburg, Fort Augustus and Isle of Skye). The hotel is beautiful and you can walk a short distance to town. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Great hotel. We checked in late. Rooms were clean and updated. Only downside was that coffee bar was in closet despite having two tables outside. Making coffee inside that closet and finding twitch to turn it on was challenging but not deal breaker. Will surely stay here if I visit the area again.

For the price, this place disappointed. Welcome toddies were offered at check-in but a non-alcoholic option was only available for a charge. The bathroom needed attention (e.g., toilet ran, shower door off its track). Dinner at Station Road had waitstaff that was not versed in the menu and a wee bit frenetic, as well as unaware of pre-booked vegetarian and birthday requests.

Very nice property and friendly/helpful staff. The room was super hot when we got there. Previous guests must have cranked up the radiators. Bathroom never really cooled down, and can’t turn off the heated floors which heat the room. We opened the windows high but you risk birds and insects. Staff provided a fan which helped bit hard to sleep when too hot. Other than that all was very nice stay.

Loved our stay here, it’s worth the price and the trip! We liked it so much, we would come back here for another vacation and stay here the entire time!

As soon as we walked in, we felted welcomed! We were greeted with a welcome drink and was told all about everything they offered!

Our room was soooo cute! We loved the fact that the TV’s came out of the beds, everything was so modern and echo friendly. The room felt so cozy and clean, it made you want to just stay inside the entire time instead of leave to explore! They even offer hot chocolate and snacks in the mini fridge.
The views were also fantastic of the Loch Ness!

The town is right down the street and easy to walk too.

I would definitely recommend this place!

We stayed one night on bed and breakfast basis. We also dined there on the three course set menu. It was fairly pricey after adding pre dinner drinks and a couple of glasses of wine however we couldn’t fault a thing. Food was amazing. Modern, inventive and very, very tasty. Presentation was first class. Staff were exceptionally friendly.
Our room was in The Loft. Small but immaculate with a quirky Alice in Wonderland theme. We hope to return!

The Lovat is a lovely hotel with a fantastic location. The rooms are very nice and the hotel setting throughout showcases luxury all round. The rooms in the hotel are nicer than the garden rooms (there isn't much of a garden which opens up to the car park). Otherwise, a great hotel to consider when visiting Fort Augustus.

The staff were amazing! The food great for the tasting we attended. The room was charming. Overall our stay was great, but we do have comments. We understand it's an older hotel but, the carpet in the room has seen better days and is \"tired\" and could use to be replaced. I would have expected a mini fridge in the room at a hotel like this. The bathroom as clean as it was had some inexperienced people do the work obviously. Too many issues to describe, from the seriously uneven floor to the terrible caulking. We would stay again without a doubt, just expected more from this location.

Room was very nice and clean. The bed was far too high and mattress topper was too big for mattress so made bed slightly uncomfortable, room was also too hot although a fan was provided it was rather noisy. Bathroom had a smell of dampness and hadn’t been upgraded to the same standard as the rest of the room. Breakfast was lovely but had to pay extra for it which was expensive for what you got. We ate in the restaurant and the food was exquisite and all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside was a dog was allowed in the restaurant, when you are allergic to dogs and paying a significant amount for the meal it did tarnish the experience slightly.

The Lovat is a lovely hotel on a hill overlooking the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. The staff were friendly and helpful, the service impeccable, and the food at the Station Road restaurant worthy of a Michelin star. We had a perfect stay and will be back.

On arrival parking was plentiful with multiple electric charging points.

Checkin was easy and friendly, however, we were extremely disappointed to be told that there were no bookings available for dinner especially as we had driven 7.5 hrs to arrive and quiet tired and hungry.

We were taken to our room (garden room) which was clean, pleasant and bright with an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Bathroom products were very high quality, however, a little niggle for me was that they were wall mounted in the wrong places so difficult to use such as the shampoo was wall mounted by the sink and not in the shower.

Mini bar was well stocked and not extortionate on prices with complimentary tea coffee, water and a chocolate bar. The hotel use nesspresso machines for the coffee but mine was faulty. I can’t really complain about this as if they didn’t know they can’t fix it.

Surprisingly we received a call from the dinning room to say that they had redesigned their seating to fit us in as long as we don’t mind sitting close to the door. We agreed and had a fantastic 3 course dinner with drinks for just under £120.

Overall, a great stay and I would recommend to others.

We loved the Lovat and would definitely stay here again. Great location right next to the main drag, very friendly and helpful staff. We had booked a room with a \"front garden\" thinking this would be nice for our toddler but actually the front garden wasn't so great, right on the parking lot, and it was outside the main building - I think it is better for people with pets. We asked if they had something inside and they changed us to a much better room for us right away, no problem. Room was great and very spacious, lounge areas nice, tasting menu at the restaurant was great.

Excellent stay at The Lovat - it was amazing from start to finish, definitely the most personalised hotel experience we have had.

The staff were extremely attentive, nothing was too much trouble and the food was exceptional - staying at The Lovat was a great way to start 2020.

Being given homemade cookies for our journey back was also a huge bonus! We can’t recommend The Lovat enough - we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed here for 1 night before going to Urquhart Castle/Loch Ness. Service was great. We ate in the restaurant (The Brasserie) for dinner and breakfast for convenience. The food is good; the breakfast is standard and reasonably priced for the portion sizes, but while the dinner was good too, it was definitely priced above the quality. Our room was comfortable (a TV came out of the food of the bed, which is luxurious, I suppose), but the radiator stayed on no matter what we set the thermostat to (i.e. 6 degrees C above what it had been set to for several hours) so we had to open a window.

Want attention to detail - this is the place.

We arrived earlier 2 hours before normal check in time - no problem, the room was ready and we were shown to our room (room 32). This is a Garden Room which was spacious with a well appointed and large bathroom. The service we received throughout from the moment we checked, to drinks in the bar and eating in the restaurant was faultless. The food was excellent with attention to the detail in its presentation. There are plenty of guest areas where you can relax after dinner. Fort Augustus is only a short stroll away from the hotel.

This hotel is so nice that it has hosted the Queen of England in the past!! I chose to stay here for one night and \"pamper\" myself after spending nights on the road and in hostels. There were not many people staying at the hotel while i was there, so there is not much of an atmosphere. The hotel is excellent and is close to the center of town / Loch Ness. Aside from being a bit pricey, the hotel is fabulous.
