The location was great, and the room and the hotel itself were very clean. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room every day.
Breakfast was excellent, except for the poor “fruit” juice. I would have like to see more fresh fruit on the menu.
Staff was exceptionally helpful, arranging an airport transfer, and providing information on ferries and schedules.
Our room was small, but adequate. The only complaint I have is that we were not permitted to use the air conditioning, as we were told it was too early in the season. As our room faced a busy street, I would have liked to close the window, but it became too warm and stuffy when I did that.

I love this hotel. I care about this property. I will be honest about my advice.

At breakfast, I would advise to be available until 10:30
instead of 10:00 a.m.

Also, please change the juice at breakfast.
It is not pleasing.

One last thing; the carpet area on the 4th floor near the elevators needs some cleaning. There is a lot of staining to the area carpets.

Centrum hotel stay

The stay was good. Area is very good. Walking distance to most places. Breakfast is good. Only problem is they do not have an iron to use just to iron sone clothes. It is so cheap dont know why they dont get one. Only other issue is that they do not have a late check out option. If needing to check out later than 12 then need to pay for full day extra. Other places I have been have like a half day payment for late check outs. But all in all a good hotel. Will stay again.

Hotel location is perfect. Gulhane station is on right next to hotel. Even you can walk to all touristic objects like Sultan Ahmet moscue, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Sistern and Topkapi within 10 mins. Staff was helpful. Rooms was clean and breakfast was OK for money which has been payed.

We had a wonderful stay! Unfortunately, the hotel as a whole had yet to start utilizing AC but we managed to get a room where we could turn the unit on without the remote. The rooms were small.

Breakfast was always great and the staff was very helpful. Located close to many attractions and lots of restaurants and services; barber, salon, laundry, pharmacy, shops and stores of all kinds. There is even a Turkish bath in hotel!

The location was perfect ... within easy walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Grand Market, and many other sights. The tram is very very close as are lots of restaurants. Breakfast had a lot of options in the roof top room with nice views. We had an econo room which was small but but we didn’t find it uncomfortably so. We could have upgraded to another room when our tour started but we decided not to. The hotel and room were clean. We had plenty of hot water for showering.

Excellent hotel and location

Excellent hotel. It’s a 3* hotel but should be a 4*. Rooms cleaned everyday, new towels and toiletries. Excellent breakfast selection, brilliant staff and hospitality, and atmosphere. Great location, 10 min from topkapi palace, blue mosque and other attractions are within walking distance. Plus tramway on ur doorstep. Thank you for a brilliant and comfortable stay.

Good location BUT poor service & poor rooms

I had trouble with the shuttle service they provided..coming 30 mins late..thereafter, the driver making us walk down the road to get to the hotel.

Hotel itself was decent for a 2 star hotel. The location is great! Breakfast was usually the same everyday and very oily.

We had construction outside of our room which gave us sleepless nights..even after complaining the hotel did not move our rooms.

vacation .. visiting instanbul... hotel was centrally located in the old quarter, about 10 minutes walk from spice bazaar, and 15 minute walk from blue mosque area.
the room was clean, but basic, with a very hard, well worn bed. pricey for what you got, with monotonous continental style breakfast.

there as the starting and ending hotel for a group tour plus booked an extra night on beginning and end on my own. was generally very satisfied. nice view from top of hotel and ate at many different hotels on group tour and this one probably had the biggest selection of food for breakfast

Excellent place to stay in Istanbul

We stayed 2 nights before our Turkey tour and 2 nights after the tour. Bed and room clean and comfortable. Had the best shower in all our trip. Food was excellent including all the breakfasts. Centrum allowed us to store luggage which was very helpful and the staff happily arranged the shuttle bus for us. Nothing was too much trouble.The hotel was in a very central part of the old city.

The Centrum is a good choice without spending a fortune. One of the best old Istanbul locations, easy walking to any tourist place. The hotel is very well run, the breakfast is good to excellent and the staff tries hard to be helpful. Unless you are looking for high end hotels this should be a choice.

Ok place for solo woman travellers. I felt safe there. Wall safe for passport. Big buffet breakfast but hot food was cold as at most Turkey hotels. Only 5 minute walk to Blue Mosque. Ok walk at night due to all the tourists. Local restaurants near hotel hassle you to eat at there place. Loud bar across street so ask for room away from it.

A very good mid to lower price hotel.

It is very well placed in the Seraglio Point district. it is clean, and the reception was efficient and courteous. There is a porter who helped with my case. We had booked two single rooms. One, on the first floor was fine. The other, on a mezzanine floor labelled floor A, was small, adequate but ideally a bigger one would have been better. This room was noisy when people were using the bar on the mezzanine floor. Breakfast was the only meal we had in the hotel and was fine.

I will not choose it again

Although the location was good because the hotel is very close most of the main tourist attractions, I will not choose this hotel again. There are plenty of hotels in the area. Watch out for rooms smelling smoke.... we got one where people had been smoking regularly and I asked to change, they told me that they could not guarantee to have a better one because \"guests smoke despite it is forbidden\". At last I got a \"non-smelling\"one, but disliked the way to approach the matter. Kind and helpful personnel at the reception.

Good hotel with friendly staff.

Hotel is good value for money. Located with lots of eating places around it. Very close to the tram netowrk. The complementary breakfast kept us going for most of the day.
The only disappointment was that we had booked a double bed with queen bed and we were given twin beds; but it was OK.
The electronic safe was very useful as we could leave our passport and money in it when we went out and not worry about pickpockets!

Overpriced but clean and convenient location

Let's start with the good: the location of the hotel was great -- walking distance to Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, & Topkapi Palace. Rooms were very clean with excellent maid service. Though basic the room had most of the essentials (proper double bed, a/c, free wifi, minibar, hairdryer, good shower, but no room service). And now the bad: though the rooms were clean the hotel overall seemed quite old and rundown. Breakfast though included in the room rate was so awful I couldn't bring myself to go more than once for my 9 day stay. Rooms were tiny - barely space to walk around the bed. Limited closet space and no shelves or drawers - worse when the room is so tiny you can’t keep your suitcase open. The hotel is near some loud restaurants so there is LOTS of noise, loud music, and light ALL night - curtains are far from light-tight and windows provide little sound insulation. While some staff were friendly some were quite brusque and overall I didn't feel I could trust them for information or recommendations about the city since it seemed like the hotel/staff had deals worked out with specific tour operators/restaurants/etc. to push you to those because they get a kick back, a shame really in a city with so much to offer where having some local advice would have been welcome. All in all not a terrible hotel but ridiculously overpriced for what it is and with so many other great hotels in the same area I certainly won't be staying at Centrum again.

Hotel Centrum is ideally located in the Sultanahmet area & within walking distance of all the major attractions. There are many eating places near by with reasonably priced food.Rooms are like most European hotels & on the smaller side, breakfast is quite adequate and overall a very conveniently placed hotel.

Great Location

Hotel Centrum is in a great location within walking distance of the historical sites of Istanbul - Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia,Grand Bazaar,Basilica Cistern and the Archeological Museum. Also close to pleasant restaurants, tramline and water. Rooms, like many European Hotels are on the small size, breakfast adequate and service friendly.

Centrum Hotel-Touristy Neighbourhood-Rude Staff

While this hotel is reasonably well located in Istanbul's Sultanhamet, the neighbourhood is too touristy, full of touts and carnival barker waiters eager to pull you in to dine at their restaurants. We spent our last night here because the hotel we wanted was fully booked. As we had stayed here 4 previous nights, we noted a curious discrepancy in our treatment. When we arrived on 13 May for 2 nights, the desk clerks treated as rudely with short, curt replies. During our six weeks in Turkey we never experienced such obnoxious service even though we stayed in countless hotels night after night. On our third day at the Centrum this cold, frosty behaviour abruptly stopped when staff learned that we were part of a 21-day GAP tour. The hypocrisy was almost amusing. Our conclusion? The Centrum lies heavily on big tour groups like GAP. If you book online off the internet, watch out! During our last night 4 June we were well treated on account of the GAP connection. No, I shall never stay at the Centrum unless I'm part of a tour group. Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely not!

The hotel is located at a convenient place, about 5 minutes walk from Sirkesi & Gulhane tram stations & 10-15 minutes walk to Blue mosque, Topakapi palace, Hippodrome, cisterns & Hagia Sophia. Good breakfast, quite clean rooms. However the rooms towards the street get lot of noise from young tourists at adjoining restaraunts who keep singing & dancing in the streets upto 1-2 AM.

A bıt prıcey for what you get. Rooms nıce and clean and quıte secure. Good AC but TV quıte small.

The locatıon ıs ok, you can walk to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar. Taksım square, apparently where all the bars and nıghtclubs are although I dıdnt actually go there, ıs nearby and you can get a taxı there for lıke 10 TL.

The locals were very helpful directing us to the hotel. Check-in was fine. We asked for a map he offered one for 20 turkish lira but 1 hr later when we ask for a good restraunt he pulls out a map to show us where a good restaurant was located and it had a free map on the other side I had to ask if we could have it. The staff person who helped us to our room did not speak english, as soon as we got to the room we wanted to turn on the A/C box hanging on the wall, he shook his head and said it did not work. AFter calling the front desk we got a remote that turned it on and it did work. The day before checking out we were wanting to check on the airport due to the weekend of the iceland volcano errupting, the desk clerk gives me the airport number he said I could call from my room. AFter staying on hold for 10 mins and no answer and retrying after breakfast we checkout we are notified of 15 and 4 lyra charge for collect call. We felt the hotel was dishonest in more ways than one -not offering us the map the first time, telling us the a/c didn't work and telling me it was okay to make a phone call. They did have a computer in the lobby with internet and the lobby was clean and neat. Breakfast was good and started the day off great.

Good hotel, convenient location-great rooftop breakfasts with a view of Bosphorus and city

The location was very good-close to tram, Haiga Sophia, Blue Mosque, popular Divan Yolu and other attractions-within walking distance to most. The rooftop breakfast was excellent with a wide range of breakfast choices. The room was a nice size and contained fridge and other amenities. All in all the hotel was fine although the same is available at a lower rate. I was staying for 4 nights and many hotels will give a discount of some kind of promotion if you stay for more than 3 nights but when I asked I was told this wasn't the case here.

Sejour dans le suite room mais qui n'est pas trop comme un suite room mais nous avons fait avec. Chambre vieillotte mais suffisant juste pour dormir. Par contre l'emplacement est tres bien. Petit dejeuner minim mais suffisant.
