Booked here kind of last minute after our previous booking tallied some recent poor reviews and we felt we should cancel. That turned out to be a great thing! What a wonderful hotel! Very convenient location. John is super helpful. Very comfortable beds in our triple room. Perfect for our family of 3. Nice to have coffee in the lobby.
Just a couple of things: poor internet speed and reliability. And it would make a world of difference having a couple of hooks per guest on the walls to hang clothes.
Definitely recommend staying at Relax 2.

Friendly and helpful staff and they spoke English and we received some welcome cookies which was very nice. Location is excellent for all the trains and metro and options for food and convenience stores. Wifi worked well and rooms were clean and comfortable size. We did laundry and it was a good washer and separate dryer which actually dried the clothes properly. They also provide complimentary detergent and there is complimentary coffee machine and water dispenser on the main floor.

The negatives were: no microwave, no closet (had hangers and a rod set above the coffee maker/hot pot.) The window faced another building. Some rooms had no window.

Location is good. Its in between taipei main station and xi men ting. Provided hot water and coffee at the lobby. Room is decent size and clean on the first look. However, when you look carefully you will see the room is not that clean. There are dust at the lights switch, dust on door hinges, dust on wall.. Frankly, it seems that the staff only clean on selective spots in the room. Besides shampoo and body wash, there's zero amenities in the room. Housekeeping also didn't do a thorough job. Did housekeeping twice , first time left out to replenish water bottle and second time left out toilet mat. The clothes hangers are located at a very weird spot in the room. Will not be returning to this hotel again. Overall, its a good stay if you just want a good location at a reasonable price.

However, we stayed in room 509, which we were pleased to see we weren’t on the street front, but the noise from a motor up to 10pm and noise from a problem air conditioner keep me awake (not my wife)

Great stay except for one thing.

When we first arrive, Johnny the receptionist and other staff were very friendly and welcoming. We felt valued as guests staying at their hotel. The local was close to Taipei Main Station. The room was very clean and quiet. Unfortunately in the middle of the night, there was no electricity in the room. The staff quickly moved us to another room and gave us vouchers for brunch. The staff were very sincerely apologetic and we appreciated that. Despite this mishap (and the reason for not providing 5 stars), we would definitely stay again at the Hotel Relax II.

We only stayed 1 night. The lounge gives an air of luxury but once you get in your room its more sparten. I did enjoy the japanese toilet. There isnt any breakfast provided though they do provide you with tea/coffee facilies and a couple of snacks.

Its only 5 mins walk to the main station which seems to be the epicentre for chamge of lines and airport. Its quiet at night so it was nice that we could leave the windows open for some fresh air.

Finding Relax II can be a bit tricky since it’s directly across from Relax III and shares a building with the restaurant Tutto Fresco, and you can access by taking the elevator to the second floor. Upon arrival, guests receive a free beer voucher to the Tutto Fresco, although I’m unsure about the details of the partnership. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Taipei Main Station, and the staff is polite, but with limited English.

We stayed just one night before heading to the airport after visiting other parts of the country, which was sufficient; I wouldn’t recommend it for an entire vacation. Our room was clean but showed rust stains in the bathroom tiles, particularly in the shower area. The toilet basin cover also had some rust, and the shower pressure was quite strong, sometimes reaching the sink area. Although we received an upgraded room with an extra bed, the air conditioning didn’t work well at higher temperatures, and we struggled to adjust it.

You’ll have a deposit hold on your card upon check-in. While the room included toiletries and a coffee maker, the overall layout felt cramped and resembled that of an airplane restroom, making it difficult to store makeup essentials. The bathroom requires navigating a step, and while the customer service was commendable, the hotel’s layout was quite unconventional.

The 3 of us had a triplet room with 1 queen and 1 twin beds. Furnitures included a round table and also 3 chairs. There was a entry hallway to put our two roller bags on easel. A separate toilet room from the shower room, Both of which had a sink. Space was on the tight sight, though manageable. Staff were friendly, efficient, conservable in English. my only suggestion is to send a prior welcome letter to travelers giving specific access instructions with the closest MRT exits and a neighborhood map. Note that the most convenient entrances/exits to hotel property are m8 and 9, both 6-7 minutes walk away. There are about 5 or 6 Relax Hotels in the immediate area, differentiated by a number following the name.

It is located near Taipei Main Station, find exit Z6 and the hotel should be within walking distance. If you have luggage with you, use elevator at exit Z2, cross the redlight and walk to the hotel

Yes you have to pay 500 NTD for drier and washer, but the good thing is, most of the time there will be available washer because people usually doesn't want to use it if not free. Microwave is provided as well.

You can ask hotel's help to buy you gift, such as pineapple tarts, so you don't have to go out and queue for it.
You also get 1 beer per pax per stay from the restaurant downstairs
This hotel has an excellent coffee machine near the lobby.
The hotel is really doing their best to be eco friendly - no more small body wash and shampoo, less bottle water (instead they give you a jug to be filled with water from dispenser in the lobby). The downside is just the housekeeping is every 3 days.

Overall the room is really clean, a bit mold building up in the bathroom but should be an easy fix. The door is a bit faulty though, you need to push it to properly close the door.

Room is ok bright and clean, a bit small for 2 people to spend a night. Bathroom is small, hardly couldn’t move freely.

But the main area that the hotel should improved is the lobby. It’s dark, not enough light & air. I could not imagine if I have to work there as the Receptionist! As a guest, I couldn’t feel welcoming & comfortable atmosphere, plus the quality of air in the lobby is terrible, smells like spring onion mix with strong vanilla smell that makes me want to leave the lobby as soon as I can.

Refused to clean our room

Stayed here for 9 nights. On the key card holder, it clearly stated that rooms would be cleaned every 3 days (this was hi-lited in pink). So on day 4, we left our towels on the floor expecting a cleaning. To our surprise, no cleaning. When we went to the desk to inquire, we were told it was to be done only after 7 days, per the fine print on the room door.
Photo of cleaning policy is shown. If you stay 3 or less nights, no cleaning, but if you stay 4 nights or more, you get cleaning every 3 days. BUT if you stay more than 7 nights, you get cleaning every 7 days.
We complained, and they said if we want full cleaning they would have to charge us. After we pointed out the conflicting policy, they agreed to clean on following day. The \"clean\" towels we received has brown streaks on them. And we NEVER got another cleaning our entire stay (we stayed 9 nights and only got cleaned on day 5)! Floors were dirty, bathroom was dirty and moldy.
Additionally there were a few design flaws, such as not enough space to hang towels to dry, and a very short area to hang clothes such that the clothes touched the bottom.
The bathroom had a large step up, then another smaller step up to the toilet which made for a hazardous tripping/falling risk (not all bathrooms are like this but ours was). Next to no counter space in bathroom.
I might be able to forgive the design flaws, but the lack of cleaning and poorly written policy are unforgiveable.
