The Hotel Deutsche Eiche was really great and convenient to everything we wanted to see. The staff were great and helped us with everything we needed from where to park our car to storing our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. The whole stay was great!!

Hotel was in great location, room was spacious and clean. Parking was difficult though with about a 5-6 minute walk to the garage and the garage does not open to retrieve vehicle until 0700, making it a problem with an early flight.

Excellent stay! All the staff are friendly, helped without hesitation answer questions I had (first time in Munich), and always met with smiles even when they were busy. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. Clean room, clean mattresses, complimentary items, central location to everything, delicious food (which I gave compliments at the time!) and more. I would definitely stay again!

All staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the included breakfast, which is served in the attached restaurant dining area. The mini bar in the room was free and included four beers, two waters, and two Cokes each day. Great location for our time in Munich old town area.

We arrived very early in the morning due to a train disruption, and Gabrielle kindly rushed to prepare our room so we could settle in right away. The room was big, spacious, and comfortable, and the washroom was just as generous. The toiletries were high‑quality and smelled wonderful.

The hotel is about a 15‑minute walk to Marienplatz, with plenty of food options nearby. Every staff member we interacted with was accommodating and genuinely wonderful.

A great stay with excellent service from start to finish.

Unresponsive when there, frequently no one present, and not helpful whatsoever even when someone was at front desk. Air conditioning not good. Thermostats need replaced. Reception desk NO help with hot room and said to open the windows and by the next morning it would be cooler.

The room was clean and spacious, and the location was great. HOWEVER, the hotel only has 1 tiny elevator, which forces you to take the stairs unless you're willing to wait for a while. The rooftop is loud and smokey. If you're a nonsmoker, this is not a pleasant space to grab a drink. The hotel serves breakfast, but it is 20 Euros per person unless you made sure to include it in your reservation. More importantly, the variety of items is relatively limited. Definitely, not worth 20 Euros. The best asset of this hotel is the location and the history behind it

The location is the best part of this hotel. The Viktualienmarkt is less than a 5 minute walk, very close to tourists destinations and lots of shops and restaurants close by.
Room was basic, oversized uncomfortable pillows. Appear be some work being done and awoke to loud banging coming from above. Room was very basic.
Breakfast was quite good and rooftop bar offered very nice views of the city.

The room was nice, basic. There was an bonus with mimi bar with daily refillsno expense but limited hoice of water, cola, and beer. Have to request other items like kettle, etc.
Food, what I had met needs but the turkey saladlarge portion of salad leaves and over cooked turkey meat.
Breakfast continental and cooked sausage and bacon with s rambled eggs as well as request for othe egg choices. Wish burnt was not their style of cooking.
As i order their pancake dessert and icing sugar was used to hide the burnt side of the pancake.
A partfrom this the hotel is nice, in a goodpart of the area to get around local supermarkets and the famous market is near by. Tram service to S1 train to airport.

From the moment we booked, the service at Hotel Deutsch Eiche in Munich was exceptional. Even before check-in, Pavlo was in touch to help reserve parking and recommend restaurants and activities during the Christmas holidays when many places were closed. That level of care made us feel taken care of right away.
We stayed in one of the apartments across the street, and it was extremely comfortable—heated floors, complimentary mini-bar items, and plenty of space for our family of three (with a teenage son!). It felt welcoming and cozy.
The rooftop bar was a wonderful experience—we received complimentary Prosecco vouchers and enjoyed a great view over Munich. The hotel restaurant was delicious as well; we were given a voucher for a Bavarian charcuterie board and enjoyed dinner with späetzle, dumplings, and more. Ahmed in the restaurant made us feel like family, and his warmth and hospitality really stood out.
The location is perfect—walking distance to Viktualienmarkt, the beautiful Asamkirche, and charming pedestrian streets filled with shops and cafés. Easy, convenient, and ideal for exploring the city.
And one more thing—after we checked out, I realized I had forgotten my hat. Pavlo actually contacted me by phone and through Hotels.com to let me know he found it and was saving it for me 🙏. That kind of personal service is rare and so appreciated.
Overall, our experience was lovely. We’ll absolutely book here again!

Our family of four travelled to Munich during December. We had randomly chosen the hotel through expedia as it was close to the Christmas markets and the train station and the apartment was spacious enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children nicely. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful with anything we needed. We really enjoyed the welcome drink voucher on our arrival. The room was right accross the main hotel lobby, it was clean and cleverly laid out and we had complimentary coffee capsules for the Nespresso machine as well as water and beer/soft drinks in the fridge.
The neighbourhood is busy but quiet, there is a coffee/sandwich shop and a supermarket close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely come back!

There were also 4 beers, 2 cokes, and two waters in the mini fridge that they told us were also free. Plus the breakfast spread was delicious. The room was pleasant, bed was comfortable. The pictures of the rooftop area was deceiving as it was very crowded and full of smokers in the evening, hardly a relaxing spot for non smokers. Elevators do not go to the floors, but rather a half flight of stairs between the floors. Be prepared to carry suitcases.

Everything was perfect other than the AC. The AC was out for our entire 5 night stay. We were told they were working on it but just didn't have it fixed while we were there. Luckily we had a door we could open and it was cool outside. Loved the location and the room otherwise.

Very clean and comfortable property. The two men on the front desk were warm and helpful. The welcome “prezzie” was outstanding! If you stay here don’t overlook this treat as the restaurant is excellent. And the welcome presecco was a nice touch.
It’s an excellent area - quiet but with good shopping and bars nearby and a short walk to the Marienplatz.

A cute hotel with free drinks (beers, Coke Zero, water) you can consume that is refilled daily with your stay. The hotel is also walkable from the main touristy spots in Munich and the area is very safe even when walking at night time.
