Clean hotel, well maintained. Staff were helpful and the room was cleaned everyday. The food (breakfast and dinner) was very good, much better than expected! Will definitely stay again. My only issue were the mosquitos in the room at night. Finally realised they were coming in through the gap at bottom of the door.

Our second visit to this hotel and we were really happy with everything. The staff are always polite and helpful, the room ample for our needs, breakfast was very good and always nice to get a few goodies on arrival.
Some minor tidying up of the building was needed but their were workmen in, tidying up so all good and certainly not a major problem. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice but boring.

Overpriced. Small hotel rooms with inadequate clothes storage. Made worse when a childs bed added with 10cm gap. Old bedding and pillows. Mattress topper on old beds that fails to fix crushed side edge. Half hearted refurb. Black taps etc in bathroom. Painted grey stripe on tiles around narrow beds. Fridge not integrated into desk housing which impacts into the room's minimal space. The desk either has missing door or fixed shut. Restaurant food, good variety but luke warm. Entertainment lacking as 2 bars closed. Our 3 children 9, 13 and 15 were bored. The children's playground was hidden behind the football area, outdoor gym and near rubbish skips. The Indoor gym was a good standard.
Many ground floor 'pool view' rooms were blocked by shrubs and trees. Bay view rooms outlook is an active building site or the back of a newly built hotel.
We liked the hotel policy of not reserving sunbeds with towels.This enabled everyone the chance of the comfortable double cushioned sunbeds. Ample free towels for use at the beach and pool use.

Review of our stay at Coral cotillo beach :

Positives
- Restaurant Staff: The staff were nice and friendly.
- Breakfast: The breakfast was lovely, variety of pastries and eggs, fruit and veg on offer
-Bus System: The local bus system was reliable, making it easier to reach nearby towns
- Beach is under 5min from hotel BUT it is very rocky and there is no direct access to the water and barely any sand
-Restaurants and small shops in El Cotillo all within comfortable walking distance from hotel

Negatives:
- No Wifi on Smart TV: The TV had no internet access and one could only access local channels which is not convenient for international guests
- The telephone in the room didn’t work so reception couldn’t be contacted
- Room Cleanliness: The room was dirty and rather dusty, with syringe caps found on the bathroom floor.
- Buffet Hygiene:Guests were taking food with their bare hands at the buffet and there was no staff to supervise.

- The majority of guests were elderly, which is not ideal if you’re under 40 and just generally looking for a fun and lively hotel experience
- Rooms not soundproof: noise in the corridors from other guests could be heard
- Unwelcoming Environment for Kids/Teenagers: The hotel felt like a retirement home with an emphasis on quiet, we witnessed guests being unfriendly toward younger visitors who were swimming
- Pool Issues: The pool wasn’t heated, and there were random people from the public using it.

Fantastic hotel in a great location

We stayed 3 night's and have a wonderful trip. The location is perfect for both the beaches and the towns restaurants. Bee opted for Bed and breakfast and the food was excellent. Always plenty of choice, food was hot, dining room staff were so friendly. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor tables and we didnt have to wait or queue for long at all. The poolside was clean with lots of sunbeds and shaded areas. The pool was clean and well looked after. The room we had (2259) was a superior room overlooking the pool with a small balcony with a bistro set to sit out at night. The room had good air conditioning and ceiling fan too. There was a small fridge, coffee machine and a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. The bed was 2 singles pushed together to make a big double and was very comfortable. There was a safe in the room which we paid to use and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom had a bath with shower over which was really powerful and the hotel supplied shower gel and hand wash. The room was checked daily and bed made. Towels changed once at our request. Beach towels are also supplied. We had a fantastic time and look forward to returning soon in the future. We highly recommend it too.

We loved the pool area which was well maintained. The breakfast was fine and plenty of choice. Rooms are good size however, our air conditioning didn’t work but we were only there 3 days . Shame roof bar not open . We have stayed several times as always good value for money . Marco and his colleagues on reception have always been really pleasant and helpful. We will definitely stay again.

Fantastic holiday

Great value for money & a fantastic holiday. Booked a premium room with pool view & couldn't fault it. Beach/pool towels, dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries, hairdryer, fridge etc. were all provided. Water & a small bottle of wine were also in the room on arrival & we were given a welcome drink at the pool bar. The pool was spotless, with plenty of loungers & a great atmosphere. Breakfast also had a great selection & there were plenty of places to sit inside & out. Location of the hotel was perfect for us; a short walk to town centre in one direction & beautiful beaches, bars, cafes, & the lighthouse in the other. A small supermarket, ice cream shop, rental place & a few other little shops were also in the same block.

- no fridge even though we were just bed and breakfast
- had to pay for Wi-Fi
- endless stream of mosquitos in the room. We would kill them and they just kept coming. Bitten a lot at night, woken up by them and always seemed to be at least 3 in the room. Seemed to be coming from the vents?
- ceiling fan constantly clicks once it’s been on for more than 30 mins.
- There were no dairy free alternatives and breakfast was not suitable for those with dietary requirements. Only half the food was labelled so as someone on a plant based diet, my breakfast was dry cereal or bread and fruit.
- address wrong on the page so was confusing when taxi driver asked where we wanted to go from the airport. Not in La Oliva, it’s in El Cotillo.

Perfect for our needs

This was our second stay in cotillo beach hotel. We chose it mainly because of the location. It's footsteps from some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world in the laid back village of El Cotillo. You won't find any nightclubs, shopping centres or sunloungers just beautiful white sand beaches where you just need a towel and sunscreen. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants in the village, but most close around 9.30/10. The hotel itself was perfect for our needs. Very comfy beds, excellent housekeeping and very friendly, helpful staff. We were half board and found the food very good. The new year's eve dinner was impressive. I really appreciated being able to swap dinner for lunch. The pool area was clean and comfortable. We did get into the pool. It was freezing, but we expected this in Dec/Jan. There was a daily schedule of activities which included pilates and zumba. I would have loved to participate in, but unfortunately no other guests were interested at that time. The only gripes i had were the internet and the small group on all inclusive who sat by the pool bar all day drinking until they fell over. Apart from that, we loved it

What a brilliant little hotel. Staff were always ready to help, food was plentiful but there is a but. Surprisingly, at breakfast, the sausages were always just warm, and in my view, the bacon over cooked. Apart from that and the lack of sink and bath plugs in the room, which might be an issue if you have a small baby to bath, the hotel was perfect.
If you want good food too, go left out of the hotel and go towards the coast. There are numerous restaurants there which are all amazin coupled with the view.

The only thing that lets this hotel down is its food. Limited choice and usually Luke warm wondered why there were a number of microwaves in the dining hall but not all food responds well to reheating. Must mention a waitress called Susan. Nothing was too much trouble for her, lovely woman.

Lovely hotel, wide and low, dominating the mid to morthern end of town.
2 floors only and a large central courtyard with 2 pools and many palm trees means it doesnt feel cramped or busy even at peak times.

Staff are friendly and helpful, especially in the canteen.
Food was plenty good enough but real food snobs would complain im sure.

Our only real gripe is the wifi.
Not cheap if you want wifi in your room, and the free wifi in the lounge is dire, almost usekess.

One of the best experiences I have ever had

It appeared that the hotel is a, to put ot mildly, Very nice place, quiet, perfect for chilling holiday. You can go there either alone, with your parner or whole the family. Professional, attentive and friendly staff on al levels, high level of cleanliness, loads of wonderfull food and drinks. Very good bar for the evening time. My room was very good too: spacious and brigh with all apliances yoi need, like airconditioner, tv, mini lounge zone with armchairs and coffie table, mini fridge and some stuff to make your own tea. I found it very handy that there is hairdryer in the bathroom. Hotel is in a short walking distance from both of the sand beaches or if you prefer you can stay at the hotel beautifuly arranged pool area. There are numerous of shops attached fo the hotel, so you literaly do not have to wandering around searching for anything. There are 3 white cats living at the premises, they give that relaxing feeling, which only a cat can give you.
I do not remember all the staff names... But I would like to thank Maria and other lady and gentelman at the reception, restaurant staff, housekeeping staff, bar staff and especially Virginia, Mario the animator, who managed to keep guests of all ages in good mood all the time. And I would like to send my biggest hug to Malcolm, the snow white friendly cat, who was my room and patio companion during my stay at the hotel

We were greeted by the friendly receptionist who couldn't do enough to ensure we were happy and comfortable. The room was well-equipped, comfortable and cleaned regularly - useful if you bring sand in from the beach! We opted for breakfast only, and it was great. Plenty of variety and freshly prepared. I attended a few stretching/yoga classes laid on which added to the experience. The pool area is attractively landscaped and pool itself (the shape of the island) is well maintained and the right temperature for a bracing morning dip or relaxing when the sun is overhead. Skirting the former fishing village of El Cotillo (now a surfing mecca) and the visually unique wilderness of the island, a stone's throw from the beach, I'd say this hotel is perfectly positioned too. Would absolutely return and recommend.

The hotel was lovely and clean. Perfect for a holiday. The location was not very good (el cotillo) but the hotel made up for that. We hired a car and it made up for the location, the beach is literally the first view when you leave the hotel entrance. Pool was lovely (and cold!) the all inclusive drinks were horrible and tasted like they were flat, the coke was worse than supermarket cola. Other than that this is a pleasant place, el cotillo has a small beach and the food places around it are awful (unfriendly locals). You need to be all inclusive or have a car if you want to eat out at night.

I’d recommend staying at this hotel as it is better than I expected for the price.

Time ran out too quickly - a good sign!

Fit for purpose 3* hotel about 20 minutes away from a really fantastic long sandy stretch of beach great for swimming and surfing - a must! Hotel faces onto much closer rocky coves with a couple of smaller sandy bays for a wave free swimming experience. Plenty of walks around the backdrop of hills behind the hotel and to the old 'Dutch' windmill and the lighthouse just to the north.
Lovely pool and food while not 5*, perfectly acceptable at this price level. Decor and cleanliness a strength of this hotel

Very boring buffet selection.

You have to like fairly much the same food every day because that's what you got. The salad bar did not change very much at all, and in the end it was extremely boring. We went half board as my wife doesn't drink alcohol. That sets you apart from the all inc crowd, you have to take this embarrassing green card that looks like a rail pass into the restaurant each evening to get it ticked by one of the over zealous staff. At night the stairway leading to our room was constantly unlit, making it quite dangerous. On check in we were assigned a first floor room, they have no lift and no help with your luggage, we are in our mid 60's and lifting those cases, up the long flight of stairs, was no fun. We had to request a plug for the bath or sink? If you wanted an extra pillow you went to the reception and they got a pillow case out of a cupboard behind reception and then a pillow from the office and gave that to you to carry up to your room. The shower, although very powerful had no anti slip mat to stand on, you just had to hope you did not slip on the smooth plastic bath tub you were standing in!. A thoroughly scary feeling.

Just returned from a fabulous stay at the hotel, all staff are very friendly, helpfull and courteous. Meals were better than we were expecting after reading some reviews, was always something to eat with a choice.
We stayed in a superior room which was worth the extra charge, only point I would put to the management, is to supply some where outside to dry wet towels etc? And possibly the inclusion/option to have a picnic meal to allow day trips? (Although we never asked?)

Entertainment was ok, with a surprising great act from the tenor Alex Martin and his 2 fellow musicians. Excellent stay overall.

The hotel is really nice, quiet new, super clean and the staff is friendly and helpful, especially Vanja. It's just in front of the ocean, really close to an amazing beach in El Cotillo wich is the most caratteristic village in all the island. There's a supermarket, a Spa and a surf school just outside, a stunning swimming pool and a bar with live music and open bar if you've all inclusive. The room was very clean quiet and comfy. The only negative thing was the food: terrible quality!! Continental food served in a self service buffet cheap presented. Apart from the food I really recommend this place.

NO DRINKS WITH HALF BOARD ?

Second time have stayed here as we love the area . We normally book an apartment on the beach but all were booked.
Booked Hotel and included Half Board . I would not recommend this option as NO DRINKS ARE INCLUDED with your meals ! . I have never come across this before .
We were unaware of this and were pounced on by the waiters when we went to the water fountain and told we have to pay a euro each for a plastic cup .
I always thought Half Board included a drink with your meal .
Also if you book this hotel ask not to be on side of Pool Bar . They start dragging the chairs out at 7.30 am making as much noise as possible ......a lovely wake up call on your holiday .
Cotillo Beach is the only main hotel in the village and they have no competition . This gives them an air of arrogance .
I must say that the reception staff were great and rooms and amineties are ok.
El Cotillo has some fantastic restaurants such as Azzuro , Marisima , Cabello .
If you want to stay in this wonderful place I would recommend getting an apartment and enjoy your night out rather than rushing around a buffet and squeezed in to a room reminding you of a school dinner hall.

Budget hotel near great beaches

value for money - you get what you pay for: food tasteless but varied, often cool; on half board not even water is free with meals! Towels were thin; cleaning staff very good. The \"free wifi\" was VERY SLOW! Didn't even register on speedtest, about same as dial-up, but good enough for text only stuff like emails but not for graphics. 'Premium' wifi costs €18 per week; safe costs €13 per week. Bus stop just round the corner.

Clean average hotel and would go back.

Booked the all inclusive option as it was a special deal. The food was nothing special as I expected, but good value, best to get there early as that made sure most of it was hot. Eat the locally produced food and you will be fine, try and eat English style and you will struggle. Plenty of Salad choices, cereals, fruit etc. Desserts were not that plentiful, breakfasts you could really go to town on. Snacks during the day I cannot judge as i was out all day. Hence pool hotel facilities etc again no comment. Free wi-fi is poor.
Oh I have to say for what I paid it was OK and I would go back.
El Cirillo is a quiet village, places to eat are not plentiful and a good meal with wine around €60 yes cheaper options are available but you get what you pay for in restaurant's.
If you want a double bed, make sure you specify this at the time of booking! My room did not have a fridge, the supermarket next door was more expensive on duty free than the airport.
One last thing, there were more French and Germans there than Brits, not a problem for me as I was not bothered about a sun bed round the pool.

Nice room shame about the food

Spent a week here early December ,didn't like our room due to noise via adjoining room doors and a micro TV!
Upgraded to one of the 8 modernised rooms on the ground floor and well what a difference, nice decor, fridge, kettle, wet room ,air con free wifi and a nice wet room.
Add the good quality wet room fixtures and LED lighting this room was far superior and we settled in quickly. One thing that didn't change though was the poor offering of luke warm bland food. This was this places downfall- unfortunately for me little Gluten free offerings but I made do with purchases for breakfast from the supermarket next door. We were half board but ate out. Didn't see any of the entertainment so cant comment (we never do anywhere we stay)
Hotel staff wee excellent and Mark in reception was very helpful. It's a sleepy little town and a car is recommended.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but the food is its biggest let down. Even if there is a small microwave on site.

And don't think it's ok will just go for the snacks the AM snacks well that's the breakfast leftovers the afternoon is a bit better you have the choice of French fries and maybe fish or chicken nuggets. Oh and don't think about waiting towards the end of opening times as they won't replenish within 30 min before the end of the 90mins that they are open for food. So over all not a good dining experience more school canteen than hotel restaurant. Entertainment well that's a hot or a miss a few nights they had some good groups in but they don't usually start till after 10 and done by just after 11. The in house team if u want yoga in the morning u are ok but that's about it u may be lucky and get a game of darts at 4 or a game of ping pong but don't expect the team be round during the day trying to get you involved may be different in the summer when they can use the pool during the day. Sun beds are in need of repair they are scabby looking and a lot of them are saggy offering no support. Don't rely on the hotel toiletries one bar of soap that's what they class as inroom toiletries and they badly need to update the towels originally brown in colour but now I don't think there are 2 the same

You get what you pay for

The hotel is really what you pay for . Don't expect luxury . Food was dreadful and although we booked on hb basis we missed majority of breakfast and dinners . You are better off getting fresh bread and cold cuts from shop next door as the freshness of food is rather questionable ( we lost all hope when one of the staff member told us he was eating elsewhere as he didn't trust food there ....)
The few times we went , there were only two waiters manning the whole dining room meaning that sometimes we didn't manage to order drink until half way through our meal .
Rooms are decent , but no air con which you would probably need from May onwards .
In January nights were rather cold and all you've been given was bed sheet and a blanket which I didn't use as it didn't look clean.
The day we checked out no one even asked how our stay was which isn't great customer service I think. It could have been nice touch .
El cotillo is great if you have a car as here's NOTHING happening in the village which is only 450 residents . For us staying just in the hotel for whole week would be rather depressing. There's Loads of beautiful beaches in radiois of 10-15km .

quiet and pleasant although definitely not luxury

The room was ok, it was clean and the staff came around each day. the front door had damage to it, the bathroom door had a big hole in it and was also sodden from the shower. I had to pay 10e for a remote control which was refundable and a charge of 13e per week for use of the safe which I would have expected to be part of the room to have access to a secure safe.
The pool was nice but freezing, the food was edible but not great, the drinks were ok but the owner of the hotel drank his own wine, not the inclusive wine...says a lot.
The entertainment was dire, almost funny as it was that bad, but the staff despite this were friendly and helpful.

Amazing food!!

Lovely hotel with spacious clean room and en suite. We went all inclusive and the food was amazing! Plenty of choice, tasty and as much as you can eat. As much booze as you can drink too. The staff were friendly and spoke good English amongst other languages. The pool and sunbathing area was a nice place to be too. The only negative we had was with the Wifi! The standard wifi just does not work, there is the option of a premium wifi for a fee but a hotel should give you internet access as standard! That aside we loved the place!

Good base for El Cotillo lagoons and beaches

The welcome was fine, The room was spotless. Some rooms get the morning sun, some the afternoon and evening, so ask for a sunny room if you want to sit on your balcony.

The food was disappointing, and much was tinned and pre-frozen. They cook meat, or fry eggs while you wait etc - although the pork steaks were shockingly raw. I complained at reception and they acted on it immediately.
If you choose carefully you can eat well, and there was a good choice of dried fruits etc at breakfast.

If you don't like cats - stay away! There are four that live in the hotel and the reception area.

We had the worst week of weather the island had had for a year - but still felt rested.

Had a room overlooking a road with waste ground beyond. The towels provided had seen better days and there were no complimentary toiletries. Food could only be described as average but edible. You get what you pay for!

Spotlessly clean.I would recommend bed and breakfast or half board at a push.The drinks are cheap enough at the bar and are better quality than the all inclusive drinks.Nice wine was €2 a large glass.If you want a week by the pool its fine. If you like to get out and about,it's in a small working town not a resort with not that much to do

Ich bin in erster Linie wegen des großen beheizten Pools erneut hingefahren. Der ist auch nach wie vor klasse. Langsam müssten aber wirklich mal Reparaturen erfolgen, die großen Löcher im Mosaikboden werden zunehmend gefährlich für die Füße.

Was mir gefallen hat:
Lage und Infrastruktur (Busanbindung, Strandnähe, Supermarkt etc.)
Geräumige Zimmer mit gutem TV und viel Ablagemöglichkeit, leiser Kühlschrank
Grundsätzlich nettes Personal
Ausreichend Liegen am Pool
Kaffeemaschine mit Wasserkocher im Zimmer
Regenduschkopf
Kostenloser Safe (damals noch gegen Gebühr)
Gym und Sportkursangebot

Negative Punkte:
Die Betten waren eine Katastrophe. Die Bettgestelle sind zu leicht und verrutschen auf dem Fliesenboden. Beide Matratzen waren schlecht und durchgelegen. Die Kopfkissenbezüge sind zu klein, ständig hängt das Kissen raus. Kein Schmink-/Rasierspiegel. Die uralten Schränke sind an sich klasse, weil man da alles unterkriegt, aber sie fallen bald auseinander und das Holz riecht inzwischen sehr unangenehm.

Essen: Also mir hat das Essen immer geschmeckt. Es war frisch und vielfältig. Die extreme Kritik mancher Gäste halten ich für übertrieben. Aber: Die Warmhaltetechnik funktioniert nicht, das Essen ist nie richtig warm. Die Obstauswahl bzw. die Zubereitung zeigt, wo gespart wird.

Unfreundliches Personal in der Solar Bar. Schade, dass die Poolbar abends nicht mehr geöffnet hat und es nur noch in der Solar Bar Musik gibt.

Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour dans cet hôtel, la chambre était spacieuse la literie très confortable et de qualité. La salle de bain avec baignoire a été aussi très appréciée le petit déjeuner est varié et convient pour tous les goûts. Le personnel est très accueillant en particulier Jessica qui est française, ce qui était pratique pour nos échanges.

Trotz Bautätigkeit kann man einen ruhigen Urlaub verbringen. Zimmer zum Pool sind die Voraussetzungen. Das Restaurant bietet eine Vielzahl von Speisen an, so dass jeder etwas schmackhaftes findet. Das Essen ist von guter Qualität.
Der Pool ist nicht zu überbieten. 50 Meter bahnen möglich.

Super, l’hôtel est bien entretenu, bien placé, l’accueil est chaleureux.
La chambre est bien, les repas sont variés, le petit déjeuné est super varié, le fait qu’il y’ai du sans gluten c’est un gros plus.

Sehr schickes, gemütliches Hotel. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber haben alles, was man braucht. Strand ist in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Aktuell ist gegenüber zwar eine Baustelle, aber wenn man tagsüber unterwegs oder am Strand ist, bekommt man diese kaum mit. Nachts ist kein Baulärm. Die Angestellten sind alle super freundlich, das Frühstücksbuffett ist reichhaltig.

Nice hotel with nice rooms.
The view: Nothing special to the pool side, as it is like an enclosed courtyard where you can see over to the other rooms. I don't think the sea view from the side is better because of a lot of traffic and new construction.
The beach and the town: An incredibly small, cozy town with a lot of ongoing new construction. The beach was pretty incredible when it wasn't windy.
The breakfast: Incredibly good croissant and also the omelet really good. Otherwise the even usual standard

Super Hotel für einen angemessenen Preis

Das Hotel ist in der Umgebung das beste was man vorfindet. Wir waren alle zufrieden und der nächste Strand ist Fußläufig zu erreichen und wenn man nicht im Meer schwimmen will, kann man auch sehr gut im Hotel-Pool schwimmen. Das Frühstück war auch sehr gut, alles vorhanden was man braucht und alles reichlich da (auch wenn man etwas Später frühstückt). Alles im allen ist das Hotel Empfehlenswert und persönlich würde ich gerne wiederkommen.
