The location is isolated but is a very relaxing place to release tension. The sunsets are beautiful to watch. The only problem is the 17 miles from the camp to the main road, 3 of which are a dirt road. The restaurant on site is very good and the pool is very nice. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants a quiet getaway.

Communication and customer service was great. We were instructed.clearly on how to get there, we were able to get to our cabin after the office closed with no issues. The lodge was very cute and very clean. The pool and pool area was also kept clean and the staff at the restaurant was very friendly. Quiet, laid back, and beautiful at night.

Great facility, very secluded and private, amazing front desk staff. Loved it for the clear night sky views and sunset and sunrise. The pool is great. Only small thing - wishing guestroom had a microwave. Will definitely recommend to family, friends and all networks.

I can’t understand how this place has a good review. I paid hotel prices to stay at a badly maintained motel. Anywhere else you would only pay $50 a night and this place was over $150 a night. There was bugs in the room, the toilet leaked all over the floor in the middle of the night and ruined my son’s boots, and the water from the faucet smelled like actual feces. It’s also over an hour from Big Bend. Yes there’s a pool, but it’s also covered with dead bugs. Run.

It was a good stay! Great air conditioning and clean room. They only thing that I didn’t like was the location! I thought it was in the town of Terlingua and it is not! It’s about 45 minutes away from Terlingua. You have to drive 16 miles to get to property from main highway. The road is half paved and half not.

Chose this as it indicated it was in Terlingua, which it is NOT! Very isolated and added about 45 minutes each way each day to access Big Bend NP. The pool was sparkling clean but freezing, even on days over 100. Also surprised not to have a microwave, coffee, or hairdryer in the room. Kind of expect those to be standard these days.

I was a little Leary driving into the lodge, especially once I was on the gravel road, but I have to say, my stay was one of the best experiences I had. From the beautiful pool, fantastic restaurant, and the best star gazing of my life. Everyone at the lodge was terrific, very friendly and accommodating. Thank you…. I can’t wait to come back, as it was also great proximity to Big Bend!

I was presently surprised to learn the Heritage and History of the place and had no clue that famed racing driver Carrol Shelby and Dave Witts were the founders. Staff was awesome. There was a nice hiking trail right behind our cabin.

No coffee pot or TV in the standard rooms but they do provide coffee in the office or at the restaurant. They also have great WiFi. The long dirt road can be challenging. And although it’s Terlingua address, it is a 30-45 drive into terlingua ghost town/Study Butte. So if you want seclusion it’s the place for you. If you want closeness to entertainment and options, stay in town.

Overall, the stay was great. Unexpected amenities like a full small pot coffee maker v. a single serve was welcomed along with the filtered water dispenser and of course the on-site cafe. It was difficult to get to after a torrential rainstorm blew through the area, but with patience and grit, we made it. These small extras definitely helped! The place was clean and there was plenty of room for us two.

This property was amazing to stay at. It was remote and the staff were amazing. They offer shampoo, conditioner, body wash and not the little tiny bottles. You do have to pay for ice it doesn’t come free like other hotels but they sell bags there. They have the restaurant on property and the office sells things as well.
Things to know. They don’t have cell service but they do have WiFi. They don’t have tvs in the room, even radio reception is very spotty.
Just so you know it does say your 45 mins to Big Bend but it actually takes longer from the actual lodge to Big Bend. Plan to drive 1-2hrs depending on where you’re planning to drive to Big Bend. Make sure you have plenty of gas. Once you reach into town you will find a grocery store, gas station, and other restaurants and shop.
They are pet friendly and we parked right at room. Half of the road and all of the lodge is unpaved.
Stars are amazing at night and it’s was so peaceful.
If you’re a coffee drinker bring your own maker, there are no microwaves in the rooms, but there is a mini fridge.
Pool was beautiful and well maintained. They have pits by the pool if you want to bbq.

This is a property that is meant for like a weekend excursion of ATVs and horseback riding. It is located in a very remote area so if you want a wilderness area it’s great. If you are passing through for a nights stay I’d recommend looking somewhere else.

Although this is a lodge by title and is a bit spacious, the amenities are few which don’t align with the definition. A coffee pot in the room would be nice, an option for daily room service, and a TV would make the property stand out. Not everyone is interested in a back woods experience. The staff was courteous, parking was never a concern, and the grounds were free from trash and debris. The pool area is exceptional as well as the picnic area and a restaurant on the property in this remote area made the stay a lot more comfortable. The view at the resort is breathtaking with the surrounding mountains.

Definitely off the beaten path, which is what we enjoy. We woke up to no electric on our second morning, which was tough but fine. They have a small cafe on site, Terlingua for any other food is 30miles away, so arriving in the evening, the cafe was a great option. The pool was open an looked clean, but was temps were not in our favor to enjoy it. Nice property and very friendly staff.

Lovely stay close to Big Bend. Remote enough from any hustle and bustle. Clean property and friendly staff. Met some locals at the pool and restaurant. Power did go out on us early in the morning causing us to pack up in complete darkness. Only issue we had was the one microwave was located at the lobby.

This advertisement is deceiving. It states it’s close to exploring the area. It’s 35 miles from anywhere. Nothing is around it. You have to drive on 3 miles of dirt road that will tear your car up. They have pictures posted that’s deceiving. 5 pictures show coffee makers and microwaves in the room. There are no coffee makers or microwaves just in a certain room. That is never explained. The rooms are dated. Our shower curtain had not been cleaned in a long time and the faucets on the shower did not work correctly. It stated there were walking and biking trails trails with an s. There was one. Also the pictures shown some said they were on property. Also a lie. The picture was in the national park 50 miles away you can not even sit on the “balcony” with out your neighbor passing back and forth in from of you. No privacy!! And the parking was also a lie. We got there there was motorcycles everywhere. We had to park in the road. Horrible place to stay. There are many places near the park, restaurants and grocery stores. This was not one. The 18 mile drive after you turn off the main road was absolutely miserable. The staff was nice and there was a good view

The unique Terlingua Ranch Lodge was unexpected and well worth the 16 mile ride across the desert road, especially the last 3 miles of graded gravel !

The room accomodations were more than adequate and the surprisingly refreshing pool area, the onsite Bad Rabbit Cafe (food selection, pricing, and portions more than fair), grilling/eating/picnic area's welcoming, and the office staff informative.

Be ready for: Bright Sky and stars! Very little phone service and no room TV; only internet upon your choice.

The T.R.L. was a true oasis in the Chihuahuan dessert at big Bend National Park. We highly recommend staying there, if you can get reservations !

Well it's the greatest dark sky we've ever seen. The star is twinkle late at night and put smiles and tears in our eyes. The pool was beautiful and particularly after a long hike at Big Bend national Park. At the same time we were lucky that Our Neighbor's dog did not bark because there was no insulation in the walls. Thank God there was a restaurant because nothing is close. And our server Beau and chef Phil was over the top. On the road there we did see Havelina's.

While the drive to get to the lodge was a bit more than we expected (we knew it was a rock road, just didn't realize how bumpy and washboard like it would be), we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the lodge. The restaurant on site was delicious, the pool was ice cold, and the rooms were comfortable and clean.

Very out of the way as others have said, but plenty of amenities. Clean, comfortable beds and AC. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. However no hair dryer (brought my own). I did mention to the front desk that the tub was extremely slippery. They have no bath mats, sticky pads or grab bar so I felt that was a safety issue which they said they would address. Food was great as well.

The room was lovely. My 3 star rating is because the location of the ranch is very isolated and that was not made clear in the booking. It is a 18 mile road off of the main road with the last 3 miles a dirt road. Hard to get to and when we arrived, their restaurant/cafe was closed for renovations so no food at all. If you want to stay in Terlingua stay in the Ghost Town area and not way out here.

We did not realize last three miles of road was unpaved and all roads on premises were gravel. For us - visiting. Big Bend National Park the ranch was a little too far to drive each day.

The hours state the front desk is open until 10pm. Apparently, during winter hours they close at 6pm. The 3 miles of “well maintained” gravel road to the will bump you around until you feel like your teeth are going to fall out. Room was clean but shower had someone else’s hair all over it.

Room was clean and nice. No Microwave or college refridgerator but that was expected ( sort of) due to the glampimg warning. We stayed in unit 44 with a nice view looking west away from the mountain behind us. The stars were amazing.
We timed our drive to the closest entrance to Big Bend Nat'l Park and it was 90 minutes to the Maverick entrance. Leaving the ranch it was 3 miles of good dirt road and 13 miles of semi rough paved road to highway 118. Then on highway 118 about another 50 minutes to the nearest park entrance. We enjoyed our stay there especially the darkness, couldn't see my hand in front of my face with no moon. Bad rabbit cafe had excellent service with Bo as our waiter and the food was very good. It's just a very long drive to BB Nat'l Park. We might stay at Big Bend Station next time to minimize the drive to the park. Starlight Theatre in Terilingua was really fun. Really cool place. We ordered the French Dip and the Shrimp tacos there and the live music and $3 beers was nice,
