The parking was very limited. The only complaint I have is when I booked the room I picked the city view room and thought I would be able to sit on the balcony but that didn't happen. They had no other rooms to move me to.

Being a female, the mirrors were not well placed, lighting was poor and every woman would like a full length mirror in their room!

Well, I wasn't going to say anything because the location is wonderful, but my experience with their charges changed my mind. When we checked in I was told I would be charged a set amount for incidentals each day and reimbursed later. But it didn't work that way. They charged me nearly twice as much for \"incidentals\" each day and reimbursed me the lower amount. We used no incidentals because there were no incidentals to use. This was a very spare hotel. Paying a significant amount for absolutely noting makes me very unhappy. I called and they only repeated their \"We charge you this amount for each day and reimburse you\" but when I told them they charged me much more they simply repeated their line. So I am very unhappy. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I had to dispute the charge because the hotel staff were completely unhelpful.

It was a comfy cool room. We were directly on the street so if you’re a light sleeper bring your sound machine or something. We were so tired from our night of fun we crashed out to the sounds of continued partying. I’m sure the inside courtyard rooms are more quiet but not an issue for us. Each time we went in and out of the property we were greeted and had a little small talk. Felt very welcoming and accommodating. Tips on the best way to make it to the garden distract and where to park. Stored our leftovers in their office mini fridge even. Really close to everything while also being a little more peaceful off the direct path

What we didnt like was the additional surprise charge of $100 for our 2 day stay that was charged for parking. Who does that? You pay for a hotel room and have to pay to park there?? And $50 a day? That is ridiculous.

Jennifer was the bees knees! She was so cheery and fun to see each time I caught her up front! Her and Elaine were kind and helpful! If you go, I hiiiiighly recommend getting a balcony room! I pretty much lived on mine. Walls are thin, but I think I’d read that and it didn’t bother me, but you’ll definitely be hearing the people/traffic/music from outside if you’re facing the streets. You need a keycard to get into the property so I felt safe. You are also close to things like Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, the French Market, and the River Walk!

Loved the location, which allowed for walking anywhere in the French Quarter but was quiet enough for sleeping. 2 blocks to French Market, 2 blocks from Bourbon St and in the beautiful little historic neighborhood. Be aware, this hotel is part of the historic charm, so there is no elevator but an easy climb up gorgeous hardwood stairs, even with luggage. Jennifer at the front desk is lovely, and our housekeeper was equally wonderful. Would 100% stay again!

It was okay. I understand we were there during Mardi Gras and it is the heart of things but we could literally hear every person walking past tge hotel.
Its dated, as it should be given the history.
Waking up to find actor Shia LaBeof being arrested outside of our room was unnerving.
I don't think its a hotel anyone over the age of 40 should patronize.

Had room 114 right by pool, avoid this room very low water pressure in shower, sink slow to drain and stays light in room all night due to pool and patio motion lights. Location of hotel was great, 10-15 minutes walk to all the popular attractions Bourbon Street, Cafe Du Monde, Jackson square. Just get a different room other than 114!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly and inviting. Front office and courtyard were clean and well kept. Pool could have been slightly cleaner than it was but it wasn’t horrible. Booked a petite king suite. Room was on second floor by itself with two doors and lots of windows. Very spacious and also very clean. Cons were very beat up mismatched furniture, and little furnishings. Bathroom didn’t look like the photo and could have been more up to date. Very small things could be fixed to really make it look better. Toilet seat broken and rusty, shower curtain railing hanging off wall. Sink clogged. Nice walk down shower…yes that was kind of weird. Worst shower pressure I’ve experienced anywhere. Hardly usable. Water temperature was fine but took a while to warm up. I don’t mind the oldness as previous people have mentioned because that’s what we love about New Orleans. Our room was not musty and there was no mold which is mentioned in a lot of reviews.

My wife and I were so excited about our recent trip to New Orleans. We arrived during a horrible rainstorm and instead of focusing on checking us into our room, the front desk associate was paying more attention to video recording a bus navigating an incorrect one-way turn outside of the hotel. This made for a very delayed check-in. My wife takes a seizure medicine and has a service dog trained to alert people of an emergency. During the check-in we were grilled and I thought we might have to get out all of the paperwork about our pup! We were also informed that we couldn't leave our small Shih-Tzu in our room alone - this was a MAJOR inconvenience. We have never had this type of poor experience with any other hotel when traveling with my wife's service animal. The room is all tile (which sucked with wet shoes and bodies). We found a hair on top of the sink and felt more of a \"meh\" feeling than advertised. I ran out to pick up cleaning products to make sure we were comfortable for the stay. I was so upset after check-in that I started searching for an alternate hotel! Our friends came into the lobby to wait with me one night and also felt the intrusive and aloof presence from an employee. With improved external and room presentation and less nosy staff, this would be a great place to stay during your trip to New Orleans.

The hotel was clean, safe, and the staff was, friendly, very professional, and knowledgeable. The floors needed to be cleaner. The room was comfortable and quiet for how close it is to the clubs and noise on Burbon Street. They owner need to place some hooks on the walls so the guests could hang a hat or a damp piece of clothing. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was serviced every day.

Hotel Chateau is small and has the basics, but nothing beyond that. For the same price, you can find a better hotel with more amenities in the area. The rooms are tiny, and may be only accessible via small emergency exit corridors and be right on the street with only a single window blind so if you don't want people right outside looking in, you have to keep the blind closed. So essentially a room without even a window.
The pool is tiny and in a common walkway area, so not very private. There is no restaurant or lounge, and a very small lobby.

Old Historic Mansion converted to a hotel. Courtyard with pool is beautiful. Location is perfect. Right next to the French Market and the River. Close enough to (but also far enough away from) the zany Bourbon Street happenings. Get an upgraded room for a few $ more for a much better experience. Have fun!

However being on the street level floor facing the street, we had bright streetlights and wern’t able to open our shade because people on the street could look right in. The staff was so nice at the front desk! Beautiful courtyard and pool but we couldn’t find pool towels by the pool. The location is hard to beat. Would’ve loved a 2nd story room with a balcony.

The staff was amazing! We had called the hotel to request a luggage drop as we were getting in much earlier than check in time, and they were happy to accommodate. Everyone was very nice and extremely helpful. The only recommendation I would make is to request a room in the interior of the courtyard. Our room was directly adjacent to the street on the ground floor, and the noise from the street made it difficult to sleep. Aside from that, the hotel and staff were fantastic!

Great location and near everything. Cleaning was not great. The room had several walks especially in bathroom which had stuff spilled down it. No drawers to put clothes or anywhere in bathroom to put stuff on or to store. Hallway was dirty for all four days. In fact someone’s fake nail remained on floor in same spot for all four days. The staff especially Elaine was amazing!! No fridge or microwave so keep that in mind. Loved the balcony room(227) bring ear plugs for the late night noise

Our hotel was super centered in the heart of the French Quarter. On past trips we stayed at another property a little farther west but this hotel was much better. Everything we wanted to do in the French Quarter was walkable from the Hotel. I have a few suggestions that I would recommend the hotel to have for their guests is:

1. Coffee available in the lobby and offer some small snacks/waters for guests to purchase.
2. Small refrigerator in the guest rooms. There are no refrigerators in the rooms and they would be nice to have (for waters, snacks and for people to store meds that need refrigeration)
