This is location fit our large group’s needs very well, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was warm and friendly, the location is ideal if you are there for the APT experience and the Mexican Restaraunt was delicious. The walls were a bit thin but we managed just fine. We will definitely plan our next trip with this place in mind.

The room was clean and comfortable for our stay. The bed was comfy, but not the pillows. I will bring my own pillows next time. The hotel was a good proximity to where we wanted to visit, which was \"The House on the Rock\" and \"Cave of the mounds\". It's also across from a nice supper club \"Arthur's\" . I recommend for a nice little weekend getaway.

It’s a little difficult to review this one. It has been in business for a very long time. I believe it does a great service
providing accommodations for those visiting The American Players Theatre in Spring Green (fabulous, by the way) and Taliesen (close by). As it is older I believe it has had a number of remodels. Staff was wonderful and there was a nice collection of guests sharing experiences in a BBQ area. Our room was just OK. There was a considerable amount of noise from other rooms.

It was a very nice 3 night stay. They should update the photos online because the room carpet in the photos were crazy colors but when we got there the carpet was newer and had updated colors. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to our needs. Plenty of parking and close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay!!

Great location off of the highway, adequate parking. Everything is dated but in a charming way. Very clean and amazing staff, BUT we noticed two things during our stay that weren't big issues. The sink wouldn't drain well, and the mattress protector looked like it was 10 years old. . .

We stayed here while visiting House on the Rock. I was pleased to see how quaint it was when we pulled onto the property. The staff were so welcoming, nice, and helpful. The rooms are kept in very good repair and very clean. I was surprised at how spacious the room was. I would wholeheartedly recommend this quaint roadside lodge for a stay when you are in the area.

We plan to return in June to tour Taliesin and will definitely stay here again.

GREAT hotel was clean and quiet. It's a mom and pop but was still a high standard and quality. Theming was fun. Would stay again. Pool was the right temperature. Hardly anyone there but was told the property was fully booked for the night. Maybe some rooms get blocked off for the winter? Parking lot was big and empty. Great for parking RV's and trailers. Great Access to Frank Lloyd Wrights.

Have stayed at The Round Barn several times over the years. The physical improvements to the hotel are very good and much appreciated. Main problem…no restaurant left on the property. That was and is the only “round barn” on the property. The hotel is hidden behind it.

Tub had a slow drain, and sink plunger didn't seal. Property dated/worn, but was clean. Walls are pretty thin and rooms that face parking mean minor distractions that can make it hard to sleep. Wasn't terrible, but I'd probably look for another place to stay if I was in the area again.

Basic rustic motel. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Coffee offerings in the am but found Anita's just down that the road has a good breakfast at a reasonable price. Staff assisted with getting us, two couples, downstairs rooms which was nice for us.

Room door unfortunately had only a single bolt lock and the back door was open with no key lock entry. This general area is very safe in Wisconsin, but security could be improved. The adjacent breakfast restaurant was not open nor was the coffee machine in the lobby working on the morning of our stay.


If you are looking for an affordable, clean hotel this is wonderful though.

Check-in was quick. Front desk employee was precise on instructions for our room, pool. She gave a great breakfast recommendation that proved to be a great place to eat. Outside our room window was a field/wooded area which made sleeping easy without any light interference. Check out was painless as well. They have solar panels on the building. We love that too.

I booked the place because it said it had a whirlpool tub and a coffee shop. A note above the tub said whirlpool was disconnected, stopper removed and shower only. the coffee shop had a note that it was closed until further notice do to staffing. If we would have known we would not have picked this place.

Stayed two nights while visiting The House on the Rock. Friendly front desk, the room was clean and spacious, had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The first night it was kind of loud as we heard TV in the room on the other side, their TV must be just by our bed, the 2nd night was quiet.
The coffee shop inside the barn was cozy and had a good selection of coffee and pastry. Overall nice place to stay.

We visited Taliesin, and we picked Red Barn Lodge for our stay. We couldn't have done better. Our room was enormous, clean, well furnished. Even better, it was on the first floor, so we parked our car outside our window - I'm always a little concerned in places I don't know. No need to worry though. Spring Green is a beautiful small town that felt safe and quite.
Now for the best part of our stay: Pam, the manager. She was on top of everything and the hotel run like clockwork. And she is a warm and gracious person. All in all, this was one of the two top stays in this trip. We had a terrific time. No question Red Barn Lodge is highly recommended, and we'd stay there if we were ever again in the area.

The thing that turned us off about our room upon entering was the persistent smell of what appeared to be unsuccessful suppression of ancient cigarette odor. Otherwise, the room was spacious and reasonably comfortable. But, the odor just made it unenjoyable.
