Beluga hotel in Koh Samui is of the best hotels we’ve stayed at, and we had an incredible experience.
The location is beautiful and right on the beach. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were fantastic. Best of all, the staff were incredibly friendly, efficient and made us feel so welcome and accommodated. Peaceful atmosphere and excellent service throughout. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

The staff are extremely friendly helpful and attentive. We were only there for 2 days but could see the manager had a great relationship with all the vistors. My passport was soaked from the storm i was given a bowl of rice to put my passport in which worked! I was so grateful. They also put an amazing display on the bed and provided treats and flowers for my birthday which was beautiful.

Great place to stay in Lamai. It is a bit of a walk to town (20min), but there are great places to have a meal or a drink nearby. The staff are awesome and the resort is well equipped. I had a peaceful stay and appreciated the overall quality of the resort. I was traveling solo, but could definitely say it would be a nice place to spend a romantic getaway.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left this boutique resort was wonderful. On arrival we received the warmest welcome complete with any drink of our choice and was then quickly taken to our room where every detail was explained (light switches, door locking etc). Our room on the 2nd floor was spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. Each morning a delicious breakfast was served by the pool. All staff at the Beluga take the greatest pride in the service they provide with the highest attention to detail. If we return to Lamai in the future we will stay again at the Beluga Boutique Resort.

Booked this hotel but were shocked to find no gate security, no reception, and no contact options—no email, no support, no staff present. The manager was rude, dismissive, and avoided discussing a refund, promising to follow up, then disappeared.

The only positive was bottled water provided daily. The bathroom had no ventilation and smelled bad. The bedroom’s broken AC triggered migraines. Despite this, the manager was arrogant and unhelpful. We only stayed one night due to an early excursion—otherwise, we’d have left sooner. This was meant to be a special trip for my 30th birthday and engagement.

We spent £235.50 more on a new hotel and taxis. An engineer confirmed the AC was faulty and said it would be fixed, but nothing changed. We had to beg for a fan just to get through the night. The manager claimed the AC worked if you put your hand right in front of it—ridiculous. He said it felt cool after walking in from 34°C heat, but you’d be sweating within 10 minutes.

We had no problems at the other four hotels on our Thailand trip. This manager failed to provide a safe, professional environment. He should refund the unused nights and improve communication. Reviews show this isn’t an isolated issue.

Hotels.com couldn’t resolve it after two attempts. I gave the manager a chance before writing this—his only reply was “this is our policy”. I’m now disputing the charge via my bank.

Overpriced and poor value—don’t risk your holiday here.

Grear spot, great little boutique hotel. Well situated and snorkeling is amazing right next to the hotel's beach. Cons: The airport/port transport is NOT included. It's easy to make that mistake, we did it. We booked thinking it was included because of the way it was advertised. It's 690 baht. Which is not cheap at all. Another con, the pool needs a good scrubing. Not super clean.

We almost didn't want to leave the property. It was so beautiful and relaxing to just hang at pool, bar, beachfront swimming area and restaurant. The staff was amazing
(especially Oh (who enthusiastically greeted us, provided daily oversight of all staff, cleanliness and ambiance of poolside, bar and activities). We also particularly enjoyed the friendly bartender - Win. He was always smiling and enthusiastic. Although we don't know the names of the housekeepers for our rooms; they created a fantastic arrangement of beautiful flowers and towel art! These special touches (including a scented candle lit in our room upon arrival) were awesome!

Great little stay

We had a lovely time at the beluga, mainly due to the friendliness of the staff. Other good parts were the cleanliness of the room, food at the restaurant, the bar and bar prices and not to mention the outside pool/beach area. Some not so great bits, but of an unpleasant smell in our bathroom, and generally speaking the decor inside is tired and the sunbeds, parasols and cushions outside could really do with updating as they looked at the end of their life. Other than that, it was a great stay, especially for the money. When there, make sure to visit Rocky Restaurant and Bar down the road!

Loved Beluga

A beautiful, well run boutique hotel. We arrived during a massive storm so didn’t see the hotel at its best, but once the storm had passed the staff worked exceptionally hard to tidy up and put all the furniture back out and it looked great.
Breakfast was lovely with cooked to order eggs and a small but lovely buffet of pastries, bread and cereal.
Room wasn’t be biggest but beautifully decorated and spotless.

Good location for restaurants on the roads outside. Also good for walks on the beach where there are bars and restaurants too.
The views from the hotel are perfect.

A very small resort where you are treated like royalty. Definitely get breakfast included as it is WAY cheaper than paying in person. So many great photo ops. All rooms face sunrise. 2nd floor has the best views. Great size balcony. Warm showers. They supply shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush/toothpaste etc. Fresh fruit gift on arrival with endless orchids decorating everything. The beach is about 2km long one way for beautiful walks. The swimming pool is nice for lounging. The pool towels are massive. They provided transport from the pier and was the same price they offer at the pier. Transportation to the airport was expensive, get your own taxi. The restraint off the main road is to die for.

Wonderful place, amazing staff. No beach on property but loved loved watching the water hit the rocks. Walk the beach starting next door. One minor complaint- people smoking at the bar made it unappealing to americans not used to that anymore. That is more a criticism of thailand than the beluga hotel, however. If we return to koh samui we'd love to stay there again.

4 night stay, great spec at the end of Lamai beach in view of the grandfather stones. The little bar right next door nestled among the iconic rocks was handy to have and made friends with the owner.
Overall a close knit team who made us feel very welcome in their boutique set-up. Oh and a bonus for us at least was adult only.

This was an absolute dream of a hotel to stay at! The location was breath taking, it was such a peaceful atmosphere, and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The morning room turn-over was so quick that we had come back from breakfast just 45 minutes after leaving, and the room was made up for us already. The beach right next to the hotel has such clear blue water that is perfect for swimming, and clean sand to lay out on. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to all of my family and friends.

The room key is attached to the room card for electricity, etc. This made it very inconvenient to keep the room air-conditioned. The air-conditioning was awful. It did not even reach the bathroom which was stuffy all the time. The air conditioning was so weak that it only blew in one spot. The property is also located in an area where there is no lighting and you have to walk through a very dark alleyway to get back home. As the sunsets early gets pitch dark by around 7:00 PM. It’s very dangerous to be walking around.

The Beluga is by far the best hotel in Samui!! I want to thank Ooo, Oliver, Nine , Win and all the other amazing staff as they actually made our holiday very special. They are some of the most beautiful people we have ever met and we will be back next year for sure.
The food is nothing short of amazing so we really didn’t go anywhere else as it just doesn’t compare.
We stayed in a few rooms as we had to change our booking due to a family situation and they could not have been more helpful . We moved to 3 rooms and they were all beautiful and unique and we loved them all.
The beach is the best in Samui and by far the most beautiful right in front of the hotel. There is a bar next door owned by a great bloke called “pok pac”. He usually surfaces around 4pm and is so worth the wait. He is good friends with Beluga so it’s like you are surrounded by family…this place is truly unique and a hidden paradise as we never considered them staff, just friends to have a laugh with and make great food, drinks and have a fun with. .
Thank you once again guys for making our time so special.

What a wonderful little pocket of Koh Samui. This feels off the beaten path but is right next to grandma and grandpa rocks which is convenient. It is down the beach from the main part of Lamai (long walk but doable). The staff were so kind and helpful. I got a massage each day with the woman right next to the property…$9 for an hour. Incredible. Swimming is lovely in the ocean or pool. Drinks and juices are well priced. Breakfast is also wonderful, eggs and pastries with fruit and coffee or tea. This is a quiet place with a chill vibe, I was happy to spend a lot of time here when I normally would be out and about the whole time. Definitely check out Beluga!

My daughter and I have just returned from a 7 night stay this April and have had an amazing time. We loved everything about the Beluga and would highly recommend. Booking was easy and communication prompt and helpful. We stayed in the front double deluxe room which was clean and well serviced and had a great ocean view. What made our stay extra special was the wonderful team of staff who couldn’t have been anymore helpful. They went above and beyond to be welcoming and accomodating and the guys in the office were really helpful with organising trips, taxis and also offering local info and answering any questions we had.
The Beluga is in a lovely location at the bottom end of Lamai beach. It’s very picturesque with the rocks in the water forming a little pools to have a dip in. It’s easy to walk a very short distance to the rest of the beach and have a proper swim. There is also a little hut adjacent to the hotel on the beach offering good priced massages.
The Beluga felt like a very special small hotel and was really great value for money. Don’t be put off by the entrance as what lies beyond the initial walkway is just fabulous.

Our stay in Beluga boutique hotel was very enjoyable. The staff was simply amazing. Wyn was great behind the bar, always happy, and Nien, the guy who served us breakfast was very kind. O helped us a lot with choosing excursions. And we booked all our taxis through O. We talked to her at breakfast about what we wanted to do for the day and it was great to have her support. Oli (Oliver) the manager was always pleasant and easy to talk to. We were two hours early on arrival and Oli saw us and walked across the pool area to greet us and carry our bags and we were made to feel special, we were offered welcome drinks and a fruit plate. All in all, a unique experience.

For most of the island activities the operators will pick you up so transportation is not an issue. The views are incredible, the staff is so friendly and helpful. We overall didn't like our stay here. There was no hot water through out our stay. We told the staff about it, but nothing was done. Rooms are smaller than they appear in pics. Balcony is not private. There's no trash bin in the room.
We had called up the hotel to ask about scooter rentals and were told that they can provide it. We reached after 6pm for check in and were told the scooter renting is done by manager who leaves by 6pm. We weren't told about this 6pm deadline on call. We spent the next hour or so looking for a scooter.
On the day of checking out, we called up the front desk for booking cab to airport. Weirdly we were told the cab is already booked although we never asked for it. I decided to go to office because i couldn't trust what the person on call said. At the office i realised that the cab wasn't confirmed. The person there called up the taxi guy and confirmed the taxi. If i wouldn't have gone to the office, we probably wouldn't have gotten a taxi.
Overall we didn't feel like this is a 4 star hotel and wouldn't recommend it to others.

A Good Choice in Lamai

The hotel is away from the busy part of Lamai, but still many good food options close by and everything else you would need. The hotel is not a big Hot Spot for the drinking crowd (although they have a nice bar) so it's always very quiet and laid back. If you rent a motorbike, you can be in the town center in 5 minutes or less. The hotel is on the beach, but not the nicest part of Lamai beach, but you can walk along the beach to nice spots. The beach is not trashy but it should be cleaned of natural sea deposits more often. Over all, a very nice place to stay with a great staff!

We had a lovely stay at the Beluga boutique hotel.

It is well located on the island, facilities and fit out is to a great standard and sceneries from the terrace and bar are stunning.

The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. They were always polite, professional and going the extra mile to make our stay stress free. Everyone had an excellent English and several staff speak French too. There is approx 15 rooms in the hotel so you’ll never feel overwhelmed by people in communal areas.

Cocktails at the bar, coffees and breakfast deserve no less than a 10 out of 10. We enjoyed every drinks and food at the Beluga. We were also delighted to find freshly made croissants, pain au chocolats and delicious baguettes at the breakfast.

Motorbikes can be rented from the hotel for 200bats/day to explore the island and boat trips to other islands or back to the airport can be organised by the hotel staff for a very competitive price.

Un petit coin de paradis !

Je suis venu dans cet hôtel en 2013 pour la première fois et j’ai toujours voulu y retourner, voilà qui est désormais fait.

Olivier, le nouveau propriétaire de l’hôtel fera en sorte que vous vous sentiez chez vous et ce grâce à la magie de son staff et du côté « boutique, privatif » de l’hôtel. Imaginez avoir une grande maison avec des cocktails d’exception à un prix bien plus que raisonnable.

Pour ma part, comme en 2013, c’est toujours un petit coin de paradis, loin des énormes ressorts qui n’accorde souvent peu d’importance à votre personne.

Merci Olivier pour ce chaleureux accueil, et une excellente suite dans cette aventure!

Great Hotel

Loved our time at the Beluga. The staff at the hotel defiantly have a customer focused attitude from the maintenance guy to the manager they are all looking to enhance the guest experience. This shows in all the little details around the hotel, from the extra touches in the room, to the guy moving patio umbrellas around to make sure you are in the shade!
The food is very good, and the included breakfast is the best I have ever had from any hotel. Really enjoyed our time there.

The room was very small and not well designed. We traveled overseas every year. The last time we have seen a small hotel room like this was in central Hong Kong.

We had to clear out most of the stuff on the one (and only) table so we could put our suitcases on it. And they also had the smallest night-stand, just big enough for an iPad.

But the beautiful property and good customer service from the staffs all make up for the small inconvenience. And it’s short walk to many great things.

Lovely quiet small adult only hotel. Rooms are nicely situated around a courtyard with a nice swimming pool in the middle, flanked by a restaurant and a bar and fronting directly onto the beach and the sea. Staff amazing and friendly and food was brilliant.

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing stay at Beluga. Pom (the manager) and her team really look after you from the moment you arrive. Our room was wonderful with an incredible view of the pool and the sea. This is a perfect hotel away from the hustle and bustle - very calm and relaxing, but a short 20 minute walk along the beach to Lamai. The breakfast is amazing - fresh fruit, yummy pastries, pancakes, and eggs the way you want them with fresh juice and coffee/tea. We stayed for 6 nights but would of loved to stay longer!

Beluga was a great boutique resort. The rooms were a bit small but everything else was great. Would HIGHLY recommend getting a 2nd floor room for added privacy. The breakfast is good but fairly basic. The coffee is excellent. The restaurant food is a bit pricey but very tasty. Check out the “Holiday” bar next door on the rock.

Lovely boutique hotel on the water

Had a great stay at the Beluga--definitely recommend! It's a great location on the southern end of Lamai beach, especially if you're looking for a bit of seclusion. I went with a friend, and there were mostly couples and one family staying there. Seems like a great place to honeymoon; it's very cozy, relaxed, and quiet. Access to the beach has some very large rocks right in front of the Beluga (which are fun to snorkel around); if you want more sand the larger beach starts just next door. Getting to town is an easy 15-min or so walk along the beach. The staff were great, very attentive and friendly. The room was nice and clean. There's a saltwater (pretty sure) pool that's very nice. All in all had a great stay!

Had an excellent stay at this hotel. Nice, intimate setting and very relaxing. Staff level of service is great and they are very aware of your needs. Great Western style breakfast with an assortment of high quality breads. Was surprised to see this in Thailand. Would definitely stay again.

Down to earth observation.

The hotel was excellent overall. Fabulous staff and service best that I have experienced to date.
Ocean swimming not so good with there being lots of rocks. Kitchen main menu could be improved
as it is very expensive. Breakfast service on the other hand excellent. Overall a very good place to
stay and completely relax and enjoy.

Amazing Resort

Stayed 5 nights here during off season. Such a great relaxing resort. Everything was amazing from the staff to the food to the room and location right on the beach. My girlfriend and I loved this place. Three steps to the pool and restaurant. Free breakfast was amazing every morning. Beach and ocean couldn't be closer and nicer. So relaxing and private.
I will definitely stay here again. Staff was super helpful with all of our needs and knowing our likes.
If youre looking for a quiet place to relax this is the place. Massages right next door on the beach were amazing as well. Miss this place and wish we could have stayed longer.

5 star service 3-4 star accommodation

One of the best positions on Lamai Beach next to the rocks with sandy bottom and clear sea for snorkeling except when the wind blows. The staff and hotel are very professional,helpful and friendly with an excellent freshly baked French bread/fresh fruit/egg breakfast. Minor drawbacks is the loud thumping music from the bar next door in the early evening. The owners do their best to ask the 18 year old owner to tone it down which works for a couple of nights. The bedrooms are a bit on the small side and would not be described as luxurious and it’s all a bit tight. Overall a great stay which is down to the staff.
The approach to the hotel is scruffy but that is out of control of the owners

Best Boutique hotel experience!!!!

Amazing hotel and service from checking to checkout! Great breakfast, food (loved the tuna club for lunch) and personal service. Your main host ‘Pom’ is so welcoming ...she greats everyone with a conversation every morning to find out how your evening was and if she can help with any plans for your day. Your room is cleaned every morning as you leave for breakfast. The staff are very attentive, always cleaning and polishing something or pouring your tea, adjusting umbrellas without asking ..... amazing service. The resort was the envy of passers-by! Would highly recommend this hotel if available!

Wonderful hotel, staff and location

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Beluga. I have to say without any hesitation that this hotel is one of the nicest, friendliest, most welcoming establishments I have ever stayed at.

It is situated at the 'quiet' end of Lamai beach, away from all the larger establishments towards Lamai town. There is a bar within the hotel boundary and their a bar next door with a lovely seating position on a large rock overlooking the bay !

Our room was right next to the pool and was clean, spacious and well equipped. The breakfast served up is delicious, as were the lunches and dinners that we enjoyed during our stay. The hotel is well positioned for alternative restaurants in Lamai town itself if you'd like a change of scenery.

Finally, staff can make or break a hotel. The staff at Beluga were marvelous, making our visit all the more enjoyable. I am very much looking forward to a return visit !

Beautiful boutique but no breeze

This is a delightfully small adults only resort where you will be very well looked after with amazing Thai service. It's right on the water but has boulders out the front. The sandy part of Lamai Beach is 100m away. You won't hear waves lapping on the beach at night at this resort. It's nestled behind very large boulders (Grandfather & Grandmother Rock) which block all the ocean breeze. The grounds also lack greenery and have lots of concrete so it gets very hot. The staff, service, restaurant & cocktails are all very high standard but we won't stay here again as it's just too hot without the breeze.
