I will definitely be back to stay in each sweet but (I will leave alcoholic boys who bully woman at home) and bring my children now that I know there’s a pool! We will try every room… mom will get her time away from caregiving and treat us queens to beautiful historic luxury at a fraction of city prices and it’s 20 miles away! In case I’m needed by my sweet mom on hospice … to the staff that made sure I was safe you’re amazing…I’m so sad I missed breakfast but trust me I’ll be back!

The room was clean. There is a railroad across the street so the trains all night were kind of annoying but I bet the rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter.
Breakfast was lacking but the room was cheap and you get what you pay for. There is a Casey’s next door.

Room was fine. Ist encounter with front office employee not so great. They charged me extea for my pets to stay in pet friendly room AFTER I paid the pet charge on your website. I tried explaining that to the man at the desk, but he didnt care. He still overcharged my bank card, and he basically didn't care. Rotten way to treat clients.

Depot Inn and Suites is one a rare find. From the booking and checkin process through checkout, this experience was five star! They have the feel of small, personalized b&b but with big, corporate amenities. While we didnt use the pool this stay, we will definitely be back. The decor of trains and history displayed was an added bonus to this gem of a stay.

Room was clean & spacious; all the inn's staff were very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was simple but sufficient (waffle maker, coffee, yogurt, a few other things). Enjoyed the billiards table in the lobby. Pool looked alright, though I didn't try it. If Kirksville is your destination and don't have a vehicle, this location is not ideal (15 min drive), but if you do have one, it has a pleasant, non-chain feel, with train-related and La Plata-related exhibits in the hallways. The Doc Savage stuff and the hobo sign system used on the rooms' doors walere cool!

This is not your run-of-the-mill motel. The place is immaculate and the decor feels luxurious. The rooms feel more like a spare bedroom in a million dollar home with the lush carpet, crown moulding, arches, etc. Looks and smells fresh and clean throughout. Particularly noteworthy is the railroad/train motif with museum-like displays lining the hallways. A continental breakfast is usually predictably skimpy and boring, but this was the nicest I have seen with a nice selection of fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, bagels, plus all the other items you would expect including waffles. It was a bit pricey for us, because we usually get the cheapest motel with acceptable ratings, but this was so nice and comfortable that I will gladly spring for the extra money to have this experience again. NO REGRETS!!!

What a cute hotel! If you’ve got a train-obsessed kid (or yourself, if trains are a thing you love), you absolutely should not pass up this place! Room was cozy and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was the standard hard boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, and a waffle station, so nothing super fancy but absolutely adequate for a free breakfast option.

Rooms were very clean. The decor was very nice. I would recommend the owner remove carpet and put LVT flooring in. The Motel was better than most places I've stayed, and I travel frequency for work. The staff is awesome, this is a gem you find once in a while. I will remember tis Motel.

We were on the way home from a 10 day trip and decided to stop for the night. What a treasure we found! I can see people who live within hours coming for a few days just to enjoy the ambiance. The staff was great, the rooms just lovely and comfortable, the pool nice, and it had a great Mexican restaurant very close. I wish we had had more time to ride the bikes and play pool. I would have liked more comfy pillows, but it was a top 10 stay!

Nicer decor than chain hotels. Unique train memorabilia to look at in halls. Can walk to nice Mexican restaurant. Clean room. The pool looked nice, but we didn’t have time to use it. Some bicycles available for use around small town. Limited breakfast choices. Would stay here again if passing through the area.

The employees go out of their way to give great customer service. They have extras like bicycles they loan out for free, a nice playground, really warm indoor pool, train memorbilia all around, 3 tvs in lobby with 2 showing current trains.
The basic room with 2 beds had a huge comfortable recliner. This is an incredibly nice moderately priced place.

We have stayed here several times, and it is always great. This is the first time we noticed that there was an unpleasant smell in our room when we entered it. There was a room deodorized or something plugged in that was running but it really didn't help much. Other than that, everything was wonderful just as it always is.

I was nervous to stay in a smaller place; I'm used to big hotel chains. This place was worth the switch. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were all so kind and helpful, both the check in and morning staff at check out. It was very quiet and I was able to get amazing sleep. The breakfast was small and not worth eating, so make sure to bring something with for the morning.

It was a quaint little place. My father and father-in-law both worked on the railroad, so this place was interesting to us. There was actual door keys! It was older, but everything was well maintained. Staff was friendly and helped with anything we needed. We'll be back!

We chose this location over a couple others because it had a pool and hot tub (we late found out, the hot tub is only in the suites). The inn is very unique with it's 'railroad museum' hallway. Lots of artifacts. This inn is conveniently right off of hwy 63. There is a very nice Mexican restaurant within an easy walking distance and the area was nice, quiet and secure. We were offered an upgrade to our room (regular room to a suite), we were then given our choice of a four poster or a sleigh bed. We were so glad we took the upgrade! Hot tub, sleigh bed, one of the BEST rooms we've ever had the pleasure of being in. I was so taken with the place, I wanted to extend our stay through the weekend (we stayed Thursday night, left Friday) but our schedule, unfortunately could not be adjusted.
The pool was nice, there were a couple pieces of exercise equipment (adult use only)poolside and pool toys she floaties for young children to use. There is a small playground on the backside of the hotel as well. Continental breakfast was outstanding, make your own waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, bagels, instant oatmeal, milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, plus so the fixings to go along.
Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable inns we've had the pleasure of staying with.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

From the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out, we felt like this hotel was very special. We stayed in the luxury suite and it didn't disappoint. The room and amenities were perfect. The front desk attendants were very informative and made sure you had everything you needed. They even have a golf cart that you can use to view the train overlook near the train tracks. The facility is very clean, the rooms smell fresh, there's ample parking, there's a pool, laundry, and of course the service is fantastic. We'll be staying again.
